"The jewel in Rouen’s crown, this impressive museum is home to France’s largest Impressionist collection outside of Paris. Here, you’ll find three stunning works from Monet’s famous Rouen Cathedral series, along with other highlights like a rare Caravaggio and paintings by everyone from Rubens, Vélazquez, and Fragonard to Delacroix, Modigliani, and Duchamp. After exploring the collection, stop into the small but pleasant bookstore for a souvenir, then take a stroll in the lovely park next door. Admission to the permanent collections here is free."

One of the best well organized museums I’ve visited. Almost in every room there is a sitting area, so the visitors can take a break from walking and standing, also allow ppl to take their time to enjoy the art. The map and marks are very clear to follow. The whole experience is easy, no rush and delightful, The collections of the impressionist arts are impressive. And it’s free entrance! Highly highly recommended.

Beautiful fine arts museum; free entrance, open daily from 10 AM. It has 2 floors; some exhibitions are paid. Amazing beautiful hall at the ground floor with 3 huge pictures made by Dufy, other big pictures and many statues. The museum houses works of famous painters and sculptors; some decorations are also on display. 1-2 hours. Highly reccomended!

A truly beautiful and inspiring museum — one of the best in Normandy 🎨. The collection covers everything from medieval to modern art, including masterpieces by Monet, Caravaggio, and Delacroix. The layout is open and easy to follow, allowing you to take your time and enjoy each room without feeling rushed. 🖼️ What Makes It Special The balance between classical and impressionist works is perfect. The lighting and spacious halls create a calm atmosphere that lets you appreciate every detail of the art. Many of the pieces are directly connected to Rouen’s history and its influence on the Impressionist movement. 🎧 Practical Tips ✅ Free entry — a huge plus for such a quality museum. ✅ Descriptions available in both French and English. ✅ Café and gift shop inside for a relaxing break. 🚗 Parking is nearby, and the museum is just a short walk from the city center. But its very hard to find a spot! So if u find any in the way just park and walk If you love art, history, or architecture, this place is a must-see. Take your time, enjoy the silence, and let the paintings tell their stories. ⸻ For more tips follow me on Google. I have a lot of maps and places to visit all around the world 🌎 all for free for my followers on Google Maps. @Amagi.zi

Un vrai trésor insolite! What a wonderful Sunday surprise to find a museum with free (!!) entry, no crowds, and room upon room of abundant chefs d'oeuvre from artists ranging from local stars like Bouton and Zacharie to luminaries such as Renoir, Sisley, Velasquez and Caravaggio. Cherries on top were the absolutely lovely and helpful staff (including the delightful staff member with the gorgeous earring 💜 and the coupe casquette) and the excellent selection in the shop. Also, there's a grand piano you can play surrounded by great art — what a treat!!We'll be back!

The Monet was a bucket list item. Easy to find. Friendly staff and such a pleasant atmosphere. A variety of amazing artists. There are a few paintings that just blow the mind with their size and complexity. Not sure if wheelchair friendly. The toilets were clean and tidy. Lockers for bags and a curio shop. Well located and has few restaurants in the area. The video attached of the Seine and the artists paintings along the river.

Google
A good surprised with great display. You can see the painting up close, see the brush stroke and smell the paint close. Great building and not crowded with traditional and impressionist arts. And it's free entry, it's a gem.

Mildly surprised by this place. Lots of stuff you normally pay to see elsewhere is on exhibit for free. Also surprised to find a Carravagio that is meant to be in Naples. A lovely place, not busy and air conditioned

The museum building is very handsome. A good section of this museum is free. The artwork and sculptures are amazing. Photo's allowed without flash. There were two staff to answer any questions.

Yelp
Two fortunate things happened when I came here. Firstly the computers were down so we got in for free, and secondly they had an exhibition on a group of impressionists. In fact a lot of paintings that I didn't see in the Mussee d'Orsay weren't there because they happened to be here. While the exhibition (or exposition as they say it in French) was impressive, the rest of the museum was doubly so. In fact the museum is not only quite large, but also has a pretty decent collection of paintings, and other works of art, as well. In fact it can be easy to get lost. Unfortunately, not all of the halls were open, which was a bit of a shame, but we did get to see quite a lot.

Yelp
I enjoyed visiting this museum, and it's impressive temporary impressionist art exhibit that was part of the Normany Impressionist Festival in August of 2013. (And as we walked through the exhibit, my husband whispered "Monet, Monet, Monet, Monet - Mo-ne!" to the tune of the song "Money".) There are 2 floors to the museum, and my husband & I explored the beautiful permanent art exhibits as well. It takes an hour or so to get through everything.
