Decent spot for a quick airport lunch at SFO. I like that they have quite a few options to choose from. I went with the chicken tortilla soup and the turkey pesto sandwich. The food was good, I especially liked the soup! The service was a little odd...I almost felt like I was bothering them, which was my biggest qualm. The other downside was the price. Which I know airport food is expensive but...wow! Between a cup of soup and a sandwich (no drink or side) it was around $25 with a tip. Maybe that's just SF pricing? Overall, and a-ok experience.

It's often a challenge finding something good to eat at an airport. I was at SFO at 1052 AM today, wanted something hot and healthy. Ladle & Leaf says it all, soup and salad. I love soups and I love good salads. TURKEY CHILI - BOWL $9.44 A thick chili made with ground turkey, tomatoes, red bell peppers and kidney beans simmered with ancho chiles. I should have opted for the larger size for $10.95. This chili was fresh, boiling hot and delicious. I decided to pass on the cheese and sourdough bread. Actually the large size is a great deal if you're hungry. The flavors were complex. I suspect it was the ancho chiles. I would be hard pressed to find something wrong with this dish. The staff working here are very nice. Ruby helped me, great employee. They had nice comfortable chairs/tables for me to relax and enjoy my chili. We all love to bash airport food. Fact is this joint is 5 stars by airport standards. Good healthy food, nice setting and a fair price. I will definitely frequent this place again.

Love their salad and grain bowls. My favorite place at SFO terminal 3. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. Usually pretty fast service when it's busy. Always busy!

Most delicious and healthy airport food I've ever had. You can tell the kale in the Brussel sprouts kale salad was truly massaged. This is only in terminal F. It was pricey though. I wish the price labeling on the food items was clearer. I also had a matcha latte which was not sweet, just the way it shld be.

The reviews for Ladle & Leaf seem to be inflated based on the fact that's it's "airport" food. Based on that disclaimer, I'd say my food was your average airport fare. I ordered the avocado toast and it was served with avocado puree, not fresh avocado, a boiled egg, and what felt like a half a bunch of cilantro. It was unseasoned and quite frankly not very good, but it also wasn't so bad that I couldn't eat it. It was early and I needed something to eat, so, my three stars is for offering somewhat healthy options and for the very friendly customer service.

The food is pretty decent with lots of soups and sandwiches but another stupid place that adds a surcharge of 5% for the 'employees' benefit'. Just adjust the prices of the menu instead of this stupid surcharge. You're purposefully screwing your customers when it's your job as the establishment to pay your workers. The menu price should be what I am paying pre tax like everywhere else in the country. Yall should be embarrassed of this practice and thank goodness the regulators are putting an end to this BS

Surprisingly pretty good for being in an airport! My husband got the tortilla soup in a bread bowl. It was a good size bowl and he was so full. The bread definitely tasted like sourdough. It was yummy. The soup was pretty good, tasted like chilli. We got two salads - Cabo grilled chicken and Brussels, kale & quinoa. The Cabo grilled chicken was tasty and I really enjoyed the zesty dressing it came with. Salad was a good size too. The Brussels kale and quinoa salad was pretty good too. Nice little bursts of sweetness from the dried cranberries. Appreciated that they had organic teas so I could get my jasmine green fix. The strawberry passionfruit sparkling juice sold there was deliciousssss. I will say that the sign on the shop needs to be cleaned and dusted. You can see the dust built up and hanging down. Really should dust it cuz the bread bowls are sitting right below out in the open.

I looked at 5-8 different restaurants in the airport before deciding on Ladle & Leaf. I was attracted to all of the healthy options including bowls, salads and soups. I liked that they had tofu and I decided on the Asian tofu salad. It had greens, cabbage, carrots, edamame, crunchy wontons and a sesame ginger dressing. I can honestly say it was one of the most flavorful salads I've ever had! The portions were HUGE and I thought it was a good value. I also tried a bowl of the tomato bisque and it was incredible. They included a baguette and topped the soup with cilantro which was a nice touch. I would go to this restaurant even if it wasn't in the airport because it was so good! I will definitely eat here again if I have a layover in SF.

Really good for airport food. I had the clam chowder and the turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich. Both were great.

As far as airport food goes this place is amazing! One of the best salads I have had. They had so many options. Sandwiches, soup, salad, bowls, wraps, pastries, and more. The ingredients were so fresh it was nice to get off a plane and eat something healthy. Reasonably priced for airport food. Did not skimp on toppings would definitely come back here.

Fabulous healthy and tasty food at sfo. The ladies there were so nice and let me try the vegetarian corn chowder soup before getting it. It tasted amazing. I also got a side of avocado. The soup comes with a side of sour dough bread. My job is literally killing me. This was the first meal of my day- after missing my flight due to work going three hours late. As I wait for my next flight I will have a comforting meal and also compose an email to try to get equitable treatment at work. No, not try, DO.

Samantha and Greg, I agree. When judging Airport food, you have to consider freshness, quickness & value for money. This place checks of all those boxes. I am not looking for an elaborate meal & I'm tired of paying too much + tips for over priced airport food that is nothing special. L&L offers many healthy options as well as freshly prepared warm bowls of soup. Plenty of choices, including vegetarian, sandwiches, soups and salads. The line moves fast so you are in and out in a jiffy! My go to at SFO at the entrance of Terminal for Gates F-series!

I really liked the Asian chicken salad. Organic mixed greens, chicken, edamame, carrots, cabbage & wonton strips with miso sesame vinaigrette. Super tasty, especially the miso vinaigrette. Nice crunch textures with the cabbage and wonton strips. Bottom line is that it's nice to be able to get something healthy in an airport. That's pretty rare. This location had good service and moved things along. All the ingredients tasted fresh.

Food looks delicious but ehhh...I had the clam chowder but they should have called it the potato chowder! It had more potatoes than clams that's for sure! The customer services was less than good. The lady at the counter was not to friendly when my friend and I approached. I asked for water and her response was 'well it's over there' and just waived her hand to her right. So I felt I was pretty much made to buy a drink rather than her service me water. Although when someone of her same race approached she was all smiles. Maybe she was just having a rough day...If you're starving it's ok to stop and have a bite. I wasn't impressed.

Couldn't agree with Samantha W. more, "Surprising good for being in an airport." I'm the type who arrives to the airport 30-40 minutes before a domestic flight (and 45-60 before international), so I rarely have time for food. My go to was a quick to-go banh mi at Bun Mee, but after a recent flight delay, I decided to branch out and gave L&L a shot. It was great!! I especially love the Thai Peanut Chicken Salad with added avocado. Prices are have both the Bay Area and airport premiums, but compared to it's competitors in the terminal, I'm a fan. Now I arrive early, maybe 45 minutes before my flight, just to make sure I have the extra 5 minutes to pick up a salad for the air.

I've always had a great experience here. Located inside SFO at the food court/junction between the E concourse and F concourse. I get the sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder. Great to get a taste of authentic San Francisco while traveling through on business.

Not my normal craving, but no other food options in the SFO airport were what I wanted. I settled for organic tomato bisque soup, it wasn't bad. This is the regular size, they also offer a larger portion. It came with bread which was a bit hard to bite into. I would've loved a soft roll.

I didn't expect Ladle & Leaf to serve breakfast but they had several selections including breakfast burritos and sandwiches. I decided to try the breakfast salad which I felt was an innovative option. The salad included quinoa, black beans, avocado, eggs and cheese on top of greens. All the ingredients tasted fresh but I wish the cheese was melted into the eggs. The chipotle sauce that came with it was delicious and offered nice smoky flavor. It was a pretty good portion size.

I ordered the Cabo Salad with Chicken. It had fresh, yummy ingredients and the portion sizes were huge! Super impressed with the taste and variety of this spot. Highly recommend! I wish they had a place like this close to where I live. Will defiantly return on my layover in San Fran airport.

Excellent choice for airport food! I think Ladle and Leaf is comparable if not better than Panera bread. The service was kind and helpful, and there was tons of seating around the restaurant for ease. Would 10/10 recommend this place for a healthier pre-flight meal option

Airport location in SF. - poor customer service - poor quality Went looking for a little treat - spent $6. + change on a chia. Staff messed up the drink, then poorly fixed it with attitude. Wasted money, dang it.

I grabbed a salad from here while I was rushing to catch my flight. The salads were made to order and were made quickly which I appreciated. The Thai chicken salad was huge and decent. It is airport food, so set expectations accordingly.

Still one of my favorite casual dining places at SFO. Located in Terminal 3 (United) it's easy to find in the circle food court. They change up the menu seasonally and it's always fresh with fresh ingredients and a nice variety of classics like chicken noodle and.clam chowder to more adventurous flavors like chicken took a masala... Since it has been re-branded from the former San Francisco Soup Company, our now offers a great selection of salads and bowls too. Reasonably priced for airport food- currently ,around $9.50 for a large soup (very filling) and about $12 for a hearty salad. It makes for a crowd pleaser and easy in the pocket book. Ask for a sample when you're there!

I walked up and down the food court in Terminal 3 at SFO and this was probably the lightest/healthiest option. I got the Quinoa Feta Avocado Grain Bowl, total $18.97 with tax/tip, 3.5 stars. The ingredients worked well together, the avocado was super ripe, there was plenty of soft feta cheese, and even though I didn't eat the salad for 3 hours, it was still good. I wish it came in a slightly larger container - not a lot of room to mix in the dressing, as everything was packed pretty tightly.

Was going to give it a three but everything was disappointing. Yeah, yeah yeah, airport food...too bad you can't pay with airport money too. Be aware that the avocado toast comes in seasoned with a hard boiled egg, sure my fault for assuming but I've never seen a hard boiled egg on avocado toast before. The bagels aren't actually bagels, just bread in a torrid shape and the chocolate croissants...Nutella??? Anyway, I'm sure there is better food at another shop.

Large Chicken Cobb Salad grand total .... $16.70. A salad yall. There was no option to get a smaller size so I didn't realize it was a large until I got the receipt. The salad was made to order so it was "freshly made", however, the ingredients didn't taste that fresh in my opinion. The salad only consisted of the following: Romaine lettuce Chopped tomato Red onion Blue cheese Hardboiled egg Avocado Diced grilled chicken Bacon The lettuce, tomato and onion we all kind of iced. Entirely too cold. I'm not sure what kind of vinaigrette came with the salad but it was tasty. Overall. This was a bust and entirely too expensive for the quality of the food. $10 at best! Keep looking if you're in this terminal.

It's airport food. Splurge on the large bread bowl, especially if you're going to be starving in domestic economy for the next 5+ hours with only a plastic blue snack bag and a stroopwafel. It's quick, and the staff are pleasant enough, and the clam chowder is... is... is not bad. You won't remember much about it aside from that it was good enough to say you might come back next time you're at Terminal 3 at SFO. And yes, service is quite quick. But something about me shys away from giving it 4 stars. Might not even be Ladle and Leaf's fault, but on repeated visits to the food court over at the F gates in Terminal 3... I rarely have had a good experience here. Maybe if you go first thing in the morning the tables aren't too greasy, not too crowded, and it's not too smelly from all the other diners who have been here before you? I mean the food court staff do a good job keeping tables bused, but the whole experience just feels somewhat short of the world-class airport that SFO hopes to be and too far into the "it's okay" range, which lines up exactly with what Yelp calls 3*.

I had already resigned myself to paying an arm and a leg for airport food (talk about a captive audience here) and was really just in the mood for something kind of healthy and wouldn't make my seat mates kill me if I cracked it open and started munching. My husband and I went for their build-your-own salads, which seemed like the best option in an airport terminal that doesn't really have a ton to offer. Yes, they were almost $20 each. Yes, it was highway robbery. I didn't eat mine on the flight. Something about being up there does odd things to my stomach and appetite and sense of taste. I will be starving up there but only actually able to handle pretzels and ginger ale. So I ate half of it when we got home and the other half the morning after. And I survived! I'm not recommending this course of action for a salad containing cheese and chicken and egg that was just sitting between our feet for a few hours and then stuffed into a fridge. It was still pretty tasty and surprisingly traveled well, wilted romaine and all, though I will say when I finally unearthed the avocado, it was a tiny, deep green chunk resembling a very moldy pit of cheese. Not the most appetizing or generous. The upshot of this is based on one person's anecdote (me), you can get an okay salad here and eat it a few hours after and still live to fight another day.

Ok. Even as an airport employee I can't give this place a good reviews. The "only positive " was that the people behind the counter were friendly and courteous. But as for the food. Overall quality is fair. I had the clam chowder soup bowl. Waterway, and totally lacked any kind of flavor. If you close your eyes I doubt you could tell it was clam chowder. The ingredients used were not of good quality. The bread bowl was the only redeeming aspect of the meal. But for $14. .. it was the meal. As for the rest of the food components that I could see nothing stood out as high quality ingredients. As for the price, yikes, $14 for soup and bread. But the insult was the surcharge for employee benefits. Seriously? It's not like your not gouging the patrons enough at an airport. This must be a California thing as maybe business feel it's alright to pass this on their corporate costs. And putting it on the bill makes them feel better about it. Hey look. We don't pay our employees benefits, but you can while we keep most of that money for ourselves. It's not like the employees will truly get it. Consider passing on this place. Go to Klein's deli. Just up the concourse. You will thank me later.

One of my favorite places to eat at the Airport. Located in Terminal 3/United's Terminal. They have very healthy options. My favorite is the grain bowl with chicken for when you don't want to think about all of the stuff you can put in your salad. Quick and friendly service.

I didn't wanna pay $8 for a small bowl of soup, but I'll spring for a $10.95 salad. Because you need to balance out all the BBQ you'll consume in Texas with some greens in your life. The staff here work with a fevered frenzy and barely have time to acknowledge your presence. But that didn't bother my half awake self, I handed her my card, swiped and sat down to enjoy my salad. It was fresh and I love the champagne vinaigrette they used!

Good soup comes with small sourdough loaf. Quintessential SF meal! Wasn't greasy, good portion size

This is my winter soup place. Located inside SFO in United terminal 3. Soup and salad! They do it as best they can and they have lots of variety. Workers here are fast and nice. The location just kind of sucks bc it's at the end of a crazy long pier/corridor. So if you're not near that pier it would be a trek, but the bonus is that there's a lot of shops, coffee, and food in that vicinity

We needed some sustenance before our flight and I'm always up for a soup, sandwich or salad as I don't like being super bloated or gross feeling from eating heavy food. I saw Ladle & Leaf and thought, maybe this could work. Well as many have said, it's expensive and the worker there almost forgot to add quinoa to our Brussels Kale & Quinoa bowl...it's in the menu item name for goodness sakes! Well it was just okay in terms of a quinoa bowl. I've definitely had better but then again what can you expect from airport food?

I was craving a warm, soothing soup after a long flight when I came across Ladle & Leaf. With such a wide variety of soups, I thought it would be the perfect place to get a meal during my layover. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. I asked if I could try a taste for one of their daily specials--a coconut dal with butternut squash--but was told they were out. (It was almost 10PM when I was ordering, so that's understandable.) I asked for a sample of the split pea, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Instead, the New England clam chowder seemed like it would be just right. They offer two soup sizes--regular and large. I decided on the regular size to go and it was plenty for me. I was also happy to hear that a generous piece of sourdough bread was included with a soup purchase. (You can also upgrade to a bread bowl.) The soup was very hearty and tasted great, although the clams seemed a bit over cooked. In all, I would be happy to grab some soup here the next time I'm passing through the airport. Definitely ask for a taste if you aren't sure which one to get!

Somehow the avocado was the warmest part of avocado toast. Weird stuff. Hey, at least the service was fast!

This is gross! Egg is precooked and the "bagel" doesn't even taste like a bagel. Took one bite and tossed it away.

Had a quick layover and wanted something relatively light to hold me over and warm me up because it was cold in the airport. Ladle & Leaf was the better option of what was open at the time. They had a nice variety of salads and soups, and I appreciated some of the soups they featured were organic. I decided to go for the broccoli cheddar. Since I wasn't that hungry the small (about 12oz) would have been a better option but I opted for the large (16oz). It came with a decent slice of sourdough bread. At first I was a little bummed to see the soup more watery than thick, but thankfully it still had good flavor, though I'd like to try another soup next time around. Airport food could be a lot worse. Was happy with my decision here.

I got an avocado toast and clam chowder from here with purified water and it was 22$! Pricey for what I got. I think next time, I'll stick to just the clam chowder but in a large. The clam chowder is interesting. It has huge Chun is of potato and celery! Not much clams. It's good in taste. They give you a piece of sourdough bread. 8$ The avocado basic toast is basically a spread of avocado with parsley layered over it. Very basic. 6$

Hey, it's airport food. With this in mind, it's solid w it's good soups and salads. Tomato bisque and split pea were both very good and the bread it's served w is a nice touch

This little salad and soup place at the San Francisco airport is a gem! I got the clam chowder. Although it was a bit salty, I liked it. It comes in either a bread bowl or just in a cup. You can even ask to sample their soups before you actually get it. The bread is sourdough so that's a win. It's an easy quick service place to grab something to eat before your flight.

Don't eat here. We were desperate to eat as we were getting hypoglycemic and could barely finish our meal. The sheer and utter blandness stained my mouth with an unpleasant aftertertast of canned beans and liquid eggs, no seasoning and the only flavorful thing was sad cold shredded cheese accompanied by awkward chunks of red pepper. Don't eat here unless you are desperate.

Good and healthy fast food option at the San Francisco airport. I got the kale/quinoa salad with artichoke hummus and my son got the southwestern corn chowder, bread bowl on the side. Everything was fresh, the salad was filling. Nothing spectacular regarding the actual food flavor (would expect more considering the price.) I'd welcome more greens and less quinoa and less cranberry "relish" (basically a cranberry jam.) The soup didn't have much flavor but my son ate half of it which is pretty good for him. Service was fast.

This was one of the first places to open early in the morning at the airport (they open at 5 am). I was also craving a bagel breakfast sandwich and this was the only place I found one. Unfortunately, it was not very inspiring. The egg was crumbly and a lot of it fell out. Though it was seasoned it still felt a bit lacking. The everything bagel was nothing special and the cheese, while heated in the sandwich, was not melted. It was an average breakfast and I will definitely try something else the next time I'm at SFO. The coffee was decent at least.

The menu board clearly states "Allowed one substitution per salad." When I requested my ONE substitution for avocado in place of the apple, I was sharply told that it would be an extra charge. When I pointed out that the menu board behind them didn't say anything about "premium" or "non-premium" items and I wasn't requesting a protein, they huffed. They then said that they would make the substitution this time. I thanked them paid $35 for TWO Brussels, Kale & Quinoa salads. Onboard when I went to eat my salads, I found no avocado and the apple that I didn't want. They lied and did nothing but take my money. It was a good salad. If they weren't going to substitute the avocado, then I would have requested something else. But they lied and I never had that choice. Apparently, lying to customers who they don't ever expect to see again and take their money is the way that they do business.

Tuna sandwich was ok nothing crazy, the portion was big only ate half and I was full! Pricey but what do you expect from the airport? $12.70 ish after taxes.

I ordered the Quinoa and Avocado breakfast salad. The eggs are rubbery (maybe rehydrated dried eggs?), the peppers had an odd taste, and forgot the quinoa altogether. Fresh greens and bright dressing didn't make up for the rest of the salad.
