"That night, we went down to Waikiki, which is about 30 minutes away, and walked around. It’s super touristy and more of a city. There are tall buildings and malls galore. Even though it’s really touristy, there’s lots of traditional stuff like the Royal Hawaiian hotel. There’s also really good shaved ice and a really good view of Diamond Head. You can get a lot of those postcard-looking beach photos."

Yelp
Food Good - I usually prefer the ravioli however we did shared items and EVERYTHING was great Crab wontons Filet Mignon Coconut shrimp Salad bar Service- always the best. The staff is amazing and friendly . We come here because we have never had a bad time Ambiance -beautiful but come around 5pm . Live music sunsetting on the ocean . It's a must

Yelp
We wanted to sit down dinner one night It was between here, the Royal Hawaiian and Herringbone I think any of the other two options would've been better The good: We were able to get a seat in the bar very quickly There is a band playing outside The guy's voice was phenomenal. The view was fabulous Great vibes if you want a party atmosphere. Service was good. The NOT-SO-GOOD: The volume in the building was outrageously loud. The food was very average ... The Mai Tai tasted like a glass of juice... Glad we tried it and got it "out of the way". it's not my vibe but I imagine I may be back b/c someone else in my group wants to go.

Yelp
The service was amazing and food was even better. I would recommend everyone to visit. Good portions and very tasty. Right on the beach so you have views of the water while dining.

Yelp
It's been a long time since we've come to Duke's in Waikiki. I'm glad we visited on New Year's 2026 Our waitress Makayla is awesome & so attentive. We came for the buffet. I was surprised with the choices that you can get for $33 buffet. They had a poke bowl section- make your own with different toppings The soup of the day was potato soup (this changes daily) They have a salad bar (three different types of greens) with many different toppings & dressings to choose from. They also have kin cheese like veggies, potatoe salad, and macaroni salad, and a cucumber and tomato salad. Hot foods included: white rice, fried rice, Okinawan potatoes (with his amazing haupia topping), kalbi ribs, teriyaki chicken, and fried shrimp. Drinks are extra. You can park in the hotel however this one is expensive. Parking that is validated is at the Outrigger Paradise (on Kuhio Ave). $6/ 4 hours validated. (Normally $10/4 hours). The person who initially answered the phone said "parking is right across the street". We could not find it. We called back and got better directions.... Just know that it's an Outrigger paradise on Kuhio Avenue. Kamaaina discount 10% Menu 1 breakfast buffet for $29. Lunch buffet for $33

Yelp
I really recommend getting the +$11 additional salad bar option. The salad bar was really good !! I also recommend getting the ahi steak as your entree. The place has a really nice vibe, and the staff is all super nice and sweet. Love it here.

Yelp
I can only imagine how different it was before, but over the last few decades, parts of Waikiki seem to have changed so much. Gone are the likes of the original International Market Place and so many of the older hotels have been renovated and/or replaced. So, amidst all of those changes, it's great how Duke's has remained ever constant. Not only is this place one of the last vestiges of years past, but it's also a Waikiki institution! Truth be told, our meal here wasn't actually the first time I've been to Duke's. Rather, that happened during my first trip Honolulu with friends, but since we only stayed long enough to grab a couple of rounds of drinks before moving on for the night, there wasn't much to say. As such, ever since, I've felt almost compelled to come back to get a real experience. Sadly, we couldn't make it work to check out one of their famed buffets (breakfast or prime rib, which I definitely wanted to try), but their dinner menu still looked great. While it may not be all that extensive, it still has an appealing variety of apps, entrees, and burgers to choose from. -- POG COCKTAIL - 100% Hawai'l Grown Fruit Juice Slushie with Ocean Vodka Admittedly, most of the other cocktails were far more unique, but I couldn't resist some nice, refreshing POG. Thankfully, this turned out to be pretty solid - the juice wasn't super sweet and the pour of vodka wasn't super heavy (though, i wouldn't have minded more). -- BLUEBERRY LAVENDER YUZU LEMONADE - Tito's Vodka, Yuzu Sake, Blueberry Lavender Syrup, Fresh Lime, and Soda Of the two, I definitely liked this cocktail a lot better. The mix of flavors was really interesting - slightly floral, slightly fruity, slightly tart - and they complemented each other really well. Plus, the amount of vodka in this one was perfect. -- CHILLED SHRIMP SALAD - Local Greens, Maui Onions, Citrus Avocado, Yuzu 1000 Dressing, Tomato, Cucumber, Hard Boiled Egg, Lemon Vinaigrette...$25 Maybe it's because we hadn't eaten a lot of veggies to this point on our trip, but this felt well worth the money. Even with the surprisingly tart dressing, this was so refreshing. I especially liked the Maui onions and avocado, but the shrimp were the star - so good! -- RIB & CHICKEN PLATE - Compart Family Farms Pork Ribs, Mango BBQ Sauce, All-Natural Huli Huli Chicken, Macaroni Salad, Steamed Rice, Pickled Cucumbers...$31 Ehh...not bad, but hardly amazing. On the one hand, both the ribs and the chicken were really moist and tender. On the other, the sauces on each was a little sweet/sugary. The acidity of the pickled cucumbers helped to cut it, though, and the macaroni salad wasn't too shabby. Much like with our food and drinks, the atmosphere and vibe at Duke's felt a little uneven as well. While our server was decently friendly, their open seating format by the bar can make it chaotic as people compete for a free table and how some will loiter/stalk groups that may or may not be leaving soon. Similarly, the those lines, the ambiance can also be really good or really meh. When my friends and I came here years ago for drinks, we sat at a corner inside that was really loud. This time, however, we lucked out with a table outside by the live music, which felt a lot more peaceful and not nearly as hot. Given how long it has been around and it's near institutional status in Waikiki, coming to Duke's almost feels like a necessity, even if it's more than a little touristy (they even have a gift shop outside). So, in that sense, I'm more than happy to have been able to check them off of my list, despite how we weren't overwhelmed. However, the one thing I would definitely recommend is to make a reservation if you can. At the very least, it'll make securing a table a whole lot more relaxing, especially if you can get one outside!

Yelp
Amazing location with a great sunset view, but it is part of a hotel so a large part of the restaurant is overlooking the pool. They have an all you can eat salad bar that was ok, choices were limited and the croutons were super stale. We ordered the chicken which was supposed to be grilled and served with guava bbq sauce, but it tasted more like baked chicken that would be served in a cafeteria. The sunset was amazing, but the food needs an upgrade.

Yelp
If you're looking for that commercial downtown Disney vibe, you found it. Sunday nights are hoppin' with a band on the patio right by the beach. Food was overpriced mediocre at best. Our bland huli huli chicken came with an ample serving of rice and maybe a tablespoon of pineapple gremolata. The chicken felt mass produced. They list the gremolata like it's a vegetable but it was basically a garnish. It would be like saying this pasta dish comes with parsley. LOL. We added the salad bar for $11 which was also nothing special. I can't see anyone paying $29 for this as an entree' and feeling satisfied. My Mai tai was ok - nothing special. I was tempted to try another cocktail but decided against it. Our server Troy was excellent and that's what brought this to 3 stars. He was genuine and engaging and service was perfect. For me, for the food, it's one and done. From other reviews, maybe breakfast or lunch is the way to go. Dinner was mid.

Yelp
Had Taco Tuesday and Buffet Lunch at Duke's Waikiki located in the Outrigger Hotel. Sat in the side room closest to the entrance. Probably where they put the riff raff as we were not in a room with ocean visibility. Wife had the Fish Tacos while I had the Buffet consisting of salad bar, Poki station, hot proteins of kahlua pork, garlic fried shrimp, Kalbi, BBQ chicken, and carbs of white and fried rice. Steamed veggies if you wanted to be healthy. Service was helpful with waitress describing the menu options of the day: Buffet food reminded me of mass produced luau food for tourists and was priced at $33 per person.

Yelp
We had lunch this afternoon at Duke's Waikīkī Restaurant. This is a great place to grab some food and it's right on the beach. The staff was super friendly, helpful and prompt. We had a great time chatting with the bartenders and also taking in the sights of Waikīkī Beach! I highly recommend checking out this wonderful restaurant!

Yelp
TL;DR: Location is great but the food could have been better. Came here with the group for a nice sit down meal. The food sounded good when going through the menu. Honestly have to say that the food is only ok. Some of the kids had the chicken wings and it was really oily and nothing special. Some also had the ribs and chicken and it was good but again it was only ok. The restaurant was packed as the setup is nice. We had a table on the patio over looking the beach so it was great atmosphere. But overall the food was just ok and that's all.

Yelp
My friend and I came to Dukes after landing in Hawaii. We were starving but also wanted a nice beach front view. And we got it. Our server was lovely Charles who was such a doll and FUN. He is such a vibe. Not a dull moment and he keeps it real. He made sure the drinks kept coming :) and even encouraged us to view the live band. Charles said come on Thursdays as it gets lit. Whatever that meant ....we came on Friday and it was lovely and came again because why not. But it was for dinner. The food is delicious definitely can't go wrong here. Guaranteed a good time. Definitely a MUST stop to chill on the beach and eat great food and wonderful hospitality. Some days or nights are busier than others so make a reservation for evening . For us a party of 2 at night was about 30 minute wait but they had a party of 30 they sat pretty quickly! Impressed! Would love to come back soon!

Yelp
We stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon, and were fortunate enough to walk in and find seats at the side bar. Service was quick and cordial. We were right between lunch and dinner menus, and they were willing to work with us, which was appreciated. I ordered the Mai-Tai and she got the blueberry lavender yuzu lemondae. I was afraid that both would be too sweet, but they were really balanced. The nachos with kalua pork were great. The bartender also got us a side of sauce (Korean chili, we think?) that made them so much better.

Yelp
What a fun restaurant nothing like the one in SD first came I greeted by the best bartender so happy gave us great recommendations had the tacos delicious but the best part was the band we dance the night away will definitely be back

Yelp
Update is strictly for drinks, came recently just for drinks and some fries and everything was perfect. Of course got the Mai Tai which is what they're known for. Nothing better than being right by the ocean enjoying some drinks and live music.

Yelp
Everyone at this restaurant is so sweet. My son and I were very welcomed. The ambience is amazing. It is a fabulous little beach bar and restaurant. But it is a little trendy and it is a little touristy. But if you're into people watching, and you don't mind waiting a little bit for the kitchen to get your food out, go here for large portions and variety. My son got the buffet and he was very happy with the variety on the buffet. I got the salad with prawns. And I loved it. It was perfect for me. They did refill our water mugs before we left, which was super nice. I really did enjoy the view.

Yelp
Probably one of the smoothest running restaurants that we went to in the Waikiki area. Good life music also Live hula dancer was a plus! Service was very attentive and the salad bar was delicious. They have all the ingredients to make a normal salad, but they also have ingredients to make your own wedge salad! Food portions are very large. We had the prime rib and the Hula pie. Very nostalgic Hawaii in the food overall is very good. Will definitely be coming back every time we visit.

Yelp
I don't think I have done a 2 star review ever or maybe in a lonnnnnng time. The service was quick and so kind but the food was not worth the hype at all. My coconut shrimp was barely ambient. It had the potential of great flavor and crunch but it tasted as if it had been sitting out. How was there no warmth at all? And it wasn't THAT busy for our food to come out that temperature. Did we get someone's returns? The side veggies were extremely soggy and over dressed. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and it wasn't even worth taking a photo. It was FULL OF SALT AND PEPPER and soo so soggy. When they offered a new plate he got the same thing as me and his shrimp came out in minutes piping hot and fries were will ambient. How does the same order only under 10 minutes apart came out similar bur different? Oh and the coconut mojito doesn't take like coconut at all. Just tasted like a lime slushy. Very disappointing experience. Besides the live music, views of the ocean and extremely kind service it is not worth coming back.

Yelp
I heard so many reviews and friends telling me to try this place on my visit to Hawaii. I wasn't able to get the brunch that they raved about but they did have a very nice dinner selection. The lobster tail was delicious and the mashed potatoes. The teriyaki steak I had was delicious and loved the toppings they put on it as well. I didn't have reservations but the wait wasn't too long. It was a busy night but didn't wait long. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The views inside the place were very nice and you could look at the ocean as you ate. Very nice intimate setting with music.

Yelp
Dukes is iconic for a reason. This has been part of our Christmas tradition for decades and it never disappoints. The food selection is incredible with rotating fresh seafood options. The servers were all kind and happy, even with a large group on a holiday. You can't beat an evening with amazing food and friends on the beach with a world class sunset.
google avatar

Jin N.

Yelp
I don't know what the hype is here, but maybe it's a good place for the vibes. We came here without a reservation and the seats are first come first served in the bar area. Otherwise, the wait for a table is quite long in the evenings. They have the "fine dining" section and the bar area. We got super lucky and snabbed a table. I was really looking forward to the coconut shrimp but it was okay. My husband got the ribs and they were very dry and underwhelming as well. It's loud and vibrant in there. A good spot to just come get drinks but I'd skip the food.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was the highlight of this restaurant for me! Our server was amazing checking on us and going above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. Just a heads up if you make a dinner reservation then your menu will be different eat from the walk up menu (aka nicer). I booked our reversion 30 days in advance, and recommend doing the same this place books up fast. The food was good, I loved having an all you can eat on the salad bar to my main course item getting a wedge salad, pastor salad, macaroni salad, and pickled vegetables for $11 more. I think that is a great deal! The food was good, the highlight for my husband being the poke tacos and for me being the breaded fish! Burger was average per the husband. The drinks were the weakest part of the experience, they tasted very watered down and didn't have the most flavor or alcohol.

Yelp
Came here for the breakfast buffet at Duke's Waikiki and ended up going two days in a row, which already says a lot. For Waikiki, this is honestly one of the best bang-for-your-buck breakfast buffets you can find. It doesn't feel overpriced, and you actually get a good variety of food that tastes fresh. First off, the fruit selection is solid. You get Hawaii fruits like pineapple, orange, and papaya, and they're fresh and sweet, not sad buffet fruit. For sweet breakfast people, there's yogurt, pastries, pancakes, and French toast, so you won't be bored. Coconut syrup made French toast and pancakes so good! I definitely mixed sweet and savory every round. Savory options were my favorite though. They had Hawaiian fried rice, two types of sausage, eggs, bacon, and eggs Benedict. no idea what they put in it but it had me in a chokehold. I just couldn't stop eating that fried rice. And that's not even everything, there were more items to choose from. Plus, they have made to order omelets, which always makes a buffet feel more worth it. Also really good coffee and service. Everyone was really nice! The vibe is also really nice. Good lighting, open space, and a great view that makes breakfast feel relaxed instead of rushed. It's the kind of place you can sit, eat, and enjoy your morning without feeling like you need to leave right away. Super spacious inside as well! If you're in Waikiki and looking for a breakfast buffet that won't destroy your wallet but still gives you variety, good food, and a nice atmosphere, try Duke's. They're super generous with their food!

Yelp
If you're looking for the quintessential Waikiki dining experience, Duke's Waikiki is hard to beat. Nestled right on the beach with postcard-perfect views of Diamond Head and the Pacific, this restaurant blends Hawaiian hospitality, great food, and a lively atmosphere. Ambiance & Setting Duke's is as much about the vibe as it is about the menu. The open-air design lets in the ocean breeze, and the location couldn't be better--you're literally steps from the sand. Live Hawaiian music often plays in the background, adding to the relaxed, island feel. It's a place where you can come straight from the beach in flip-flops or dress up a little for a sunset dinner. Food & Drinks The menu offers a balance of fresh island flavors and American favorites. Highlights include: * Hula Pie - The legendary dessert here. Enormous, indulgent, and worth every bite. * Fresh Fish - Perfectly prepared with island-inspired sauces and sides. * Breakfast Buffet - Generous, with tropical fruit, local specialties, and made-to-order options. * Cocktails - Refreshing and tropical; the Mai Tais and Lava Flows are favorites. Service Friendly, warm, and efficient even when the restaurant is buzzing. The staff embodies the "Aloha spirit," making visitors feel at home while keeping the energy lively. Here are some tips: * Reservations are highly recommended, especially for dinner at sunset. * Beachfront tables are the most coveted, so plan ahead if you want the best view. * Don't leave without trying the Hula Pie--share it if you must, but it's big enough to be a meal in itself! Overall Duke's Waikiki is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. Whether you're there for brunch, a casual lunch, or a romantic dinner with the waves as your soundtrack, it captures the heart of Waikiki perfectly. A must-visit for locals and travelers alike.

Yelp
If your jam is to have a nice beach view while enjoying dinner, then you'll have to check out Duke's! We specifically requested a seat by the water and were able to see the sunset!! Our table was near the hotel guest only area where they also had a live band performing!! It was a dreamy experience :) On top of that, our waitress went above and beyond with the service. She regularly checked on us and didn't rush our dinner at all! What we ordered: - Furikake Ahi Steak: This is my favorite! Largely biased because I really like fish but it was really good. The presentation was beautiful & I loved the sesame seafood flavors :) - Slow Roasted Prime Rib: Can't go wrong with this. It was very good and shareable - Hula Pie: First time trying this & it really felt like a celebration in dessert form. The portion was generous. It felt like a merge of different sweet treats ... a cookie, ice cream sundae & some mac nuts on top

Yelp
Came here for my birthday breakfast and Duke's did not disappoint! The buffet was loaded with all the classics -- fresh fruit, crispy potatoes, French toast, eggs, sausage, and more. Basically everything you need to fuel up for a day in Waikīkī (or to immediately crash into a food coma... which almost happened after round two of French toast). But the real MVP? Our server Jules. Absolute legend. Friendly, attentive, and on top of everything -- he made us feel like VIPs the whole time. Honestly, Jules deserves a raise, a promotion, or maybe even his own statue out front. The atmosphere is exactly what you want: breezy, beachy, and full of that aloha vibe. Bonus points for the mimosas, which made me forget it was barely 10 AM. If you're looking for a place to celebrate something special -- or just want an excuse to eat like it's your birthday even when it's not -- Duke's breakfast buffet is the move.

Yelp
Can't beat the ambiance! Really cool tiki vibe, beach front, and live music! Also open til late, which is super perfect! Service is great and everyone was super nice! The food was pretty average. The nachos were pretty loaded with toppings but was nothing special and kind of just alright. It lacked flavor. The arugula and beet salad was pretty good and I enjoyed it, I just with it had more beets rather than being a big bed of just arugula. Honestly, if I were in Waikiki, I'd try a different spot but it was still solid!

Yelp
This place was recommended by everyone so we went and tried it. Our server was Holly super nice and attentive, great service ! Food came out amazing .

Yelp
You've gotta come here at least once on your trip! They have indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. Service is warm and welcoming just like the staff. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and had a great sense of humor. If you have a good table outdoors, you'll be able to view the beach, and it's just yards away if you want to take a stroll after your meal. Reservations aren't necessary, but an option if you'd like. Food options are plenty, including a buffet option. The lunch buffet was simple and a handful of entrees, sides, salads, poke, and fresh fruits. Their tacos are very tasty as well! Can't go wrong with either option. Burgers are made to order and very juicy. Alcoholic drinks are a delight and can be too pretty to drink. Check out their specials for certain days. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and don't forget the Hula Pie for dessert!

Yelp
Came here for brunch with my friends and we will definitely be back! The food, drinks, service, and the view were all amazing. Our server was awesome and attentive! Our food and drinks came out quickly. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great place in Waikiki!

Yelp
If you do nothing else, go for the dessert, the amazing views and the awesome customer service!!! I love that they have self-seating at the round tables in front of the bar. Excellent view and no waiting if a table is open!!! The hula pie is a 100 out of 10! The view is 100 out of 10! Go see for yourself!!!

Yelp
Wife and I had lunch here on a Saturday. Even without reservations, we were seated in five minutes. It was crowded and busy but we were given a table away from the crowd and so it was quiet and relaxing. Our server was outstanding... very patiently explained the buffet and the entree menu. We settled on the buffet, only $33 per person. We didn't know Duke's offered it, but we received a 10 percent Kama'aina discount. The buffet is not huge, but it was enough for me. Try to eat a low carb lunch, so I had a huge salad with all the toppings. Also had Kalua Pork, Teri Chicken, Shrimp, Kalbi, and a small portion of fried rice. Deserts are not available with the buffet, but you can order their popular Hula Pie. Overall the experience was pleasant and relaxing, just what we wanted.

Yelp
A don't miss buffet experience that I have been coming to for decades. When you leave, you never really do. Part of you stays.

Yelp
The food was okay, nothing too crazy, we've had better food elsewhere. This place is more for views and vibes. The drinks were pretty strong though. When we went up to the host she seemed like she didn't want to be there. She told us it was self seating so we were a bit confused but she left elsewhere before we could ask her a question. We walked upstairs and were confused so we walked back and asked if we could sit by the beach and she walked us to a table with menus. Maybe a bad day for her but service matters to us. Our server was the sweetest though, she was very attentive and nice. Ambiance was nice since you're by the beach. Other than that, we would prefer to eat elsewhere.
google avatar

Yelp
The best breakfast buffet in Waikiki. Our server Sebastian did an excellent job! Going back for dinner tomorrow night (made reservation 3 months in advance). Love Dukes!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this breakfast buffet but was actually a little disappointed in the lack of variety! It was such a small buffet area for a huge restaurant. We were able to make reservations for our party of 8 which was nice and they put us next to the beach, otherwise that was the only highlight of this visit. Food was okay but the lack of variety was just not worth the price, also considering you still had to pay for drinks separately! I thought at least milk and juices would be included. $17 for kids 10 and under seemed pretty crazy considering the difference of food that a 10 year old would eat compared to our 3 and 4 year olds is big. They did give a big dessert for our daughter's birthday but otherwise probably would not come back again unfortunately...there are way more delicious breakfast places on the island!
google avatar

Erich L.

Yelp
A top place for a meal or a drink. Tried the macadamia crusted fish special and the huli huli chicken. Everything was good and the friendly aloha service. Try to make reservations it gets booked fast. A must try for Waikiki

Yelp
I think we come here because that's where ppl say you're supposed to go. It was packed both times. I actually would not have come twice (the food wasn't bad) but they stay open late with the condensed bar menu. First time was the first night I was in Honolulu. I came based upon my airport shuttle driver's recommendation. I couldn't decide between two dishes so I let the waiter pick for me. He picked the ribs which came with salad and a side of way-too-mashed mashed potatoes; almost puréed. I also ordered a mai tai because I was in Honolulu bih. And you can't go to Hawaii without drinking mai tai; it was strong but tasted ok. I wanted to order their famous ice cream dessert, but it was too damn big and I was traveling solo. So I was like no fat bih (talking to myself) you won't order that on this vacation. Surprisingly, a couple I shared a short conversation with that sat next to me offered me some of theirs, but I may be a lil fat bih, but I ain't a dirty one. I ain't sharing no germs and plus the thought of that with strangers was weird but I appreciated the offer nonetheless. The second time I came, it was really late and I ordered the nachos. The waitress was awesome. I told her that the pictures on yelp did not look that cheesy. She said girl I got you! Baby those nachos did not disappoint so I didn't disappoint when I tipped her! Would I go back? Maybe the ribs were not bad but they weren't that great either. And honestly, I really wouldn't have ordered ribs in Honolulu but I overhead the table next to me say they were good. That's why it was one of the dishes that I had the waiter choose from. His service was attentive as well, so no complaints on service. The food is OK. The wait time could be crazy.

Yelp
It's all about the history of this place/ atmosphere.... All the original photographs... Food is okay.... Salad bar is yummy...... we were a party of 10 so not so easy to take care of... The waiter did a great job though .... Parking in the structure across the street..... You can have your ticket validated....

Yelp
Review is for both dinner and breakfast buffet. Experience same for both. Nicely decorated Hawaiian/surfing theme ambiance. Servers came by regularly and very helpful with food allergy issues. Plenty of options on breakfast buffet though surprised by the multiple rice dishes out. French toast made with basic thin white bread, nothing special. Very good coffee and oatmeal. Nice omelet option (small but they will keep them coming). Breakfast meats only ok, bacon overdone. Dinner was a nice braised seafood dish though micro amount of lobster (1/2 VERY small tail) and only two shrimp. Broth was thin and average flavor. Fish was moist in dish. Nice views of Waikiki Beach and enjoyed watching surfing during breakfast.

Yelp
Went here on "Taco Tuesday".... Wasn't expecting much but still left pretty disappointed. On the bright side, the host and servers were really nice. The food is basically like free hotel breakfast quality. Everything tastes like it's microwaved and from Costco. Also I don't think the view is that great considering you're beachside, you can barely see the water since there's a bunch of rental booths and other people blocking the view. In addition, it's almost always too hot to sit all the way outside as the sun is beaming down on you, making for an uncomfortable dining experience.

Yelp
Stopped in on our recent trip to Oahu before making the drive to the north shore. Parking is extremely tough...it's Waikiki... Once there, it was pretty easy to grab a nice outdoor table. Service was good and food was pretty solid. Good place to grab a burger and fries and a beer, etc.

Yelp
I have visited the infamous Dukes in Waikiki quite a few times now. It always a party. Great vibes on the beach. Good food and drinks with live performances. The restaurant and bar staff are great. You are guaranteed to have a good time. You have to visit it at least once if you make to the island.

Yelp
Wait wasn't too bad for a busy tourist spot. View was excellent. The ambience was perfect! My family of 6 enjoyed the patio with ocean view and live music. Coconut shrimp was absolutely delicious and I would strongly recommend. I can't remember what else I ordered. I would love to come back!

Yelp
It's all about the view here. The food is horrible. We ordered the lunch buffet and the choices were very limited. The main menu is also super small bar food.

Yelp
The restaurant's namesake, Duke Kahanamoku, was an amazing surfer and representative of Hawaiian culture. Food here is very standard fare you find in touristy Hawaii. The view from tables is stunning. I've enjoyed the cheeseburger and pulled pork sandwiches. Good portions and satisfying. I've also had the ribs and chicken combo plate. That was more than I could eat by myself. Tender ribs and flavorful chicken. I'd definitely get these dishes again. Staff were friendly but super busy.

Yelp
I always love to stop by Duke's whenever I'm in Oahu. It is an iconic restaurant in Waikiki with live music and a lively vibe with a view of the beach. Be sure to make a reservation at least two weeks ahead of time. The prime rib dish was really good and memorable. I got the huli huli chicken which was cooked well without being dry at all. I enjoyed the sauce and the rice as well.

Yelp
A friend recommended this spot that's right on the Waikiki Beach. Named after Duke, the Hawaiian Olympic surfer. A live band played awesome reggae music. The Coconut Mojito was amazing! My wife loved the Lychee-hoo Martini. The Dukes Cheeseburger was typical, but my daughter loved the Fried Chicken off the kids menu. We sat outside on the lanai patio. Depending on the day, there is limited shade. The only negative were most of the tables were dirty and wobbly. If they fix that, I would definitely come back.
