Sabor Mexicano Restaurant

With seven of us showing up for breakfast we took over their dining room space, and they made us feel right at home. We had guests from Japan that had never tried Mexican cuisine and Sabor was a perfect introduction. Homemade tortillas, nopales, plantains, we had smiles all around the table.

First time customer. Caldo de Res was delicious and Jamaica was made from fresh flowers (not from concentrate). Service is quick too. Locale is a typical whole in the wall with 3 tight tables, no AC, and street parking. Nonetheless, me and my Dad are definitely coming back to try some of their other dishes. Worse case scenario, we'll take the order to go.

The moment you step inside Sabor Mexicano, you are greeted by an atmosphere bursting with color and life. The decor skillfully balances traditional Mexican artistry—think hand-painted tiles, papel picado accents, and warm, earthy tones—with comfortable, modern seating. The background music is a lively mix of regional Mexican tunes, creating an energetic but never overwhelming buzz. This is a great place for everything from a date night to a family gathering. The seating is thoughtfully arranged, offering both cozy corners for intimacy and large tables that encourage communal feasting. The restaurant feels clean, bright, and consistently cared for, reflecting pride in presentation.

I ordered a plate of chilaquiles without meat and two coffees, and the total was $27. I asked for an extra fork since we were sharing, and one of the ladies gave me attitude for it. This will be my first and last visit. The food was okay, but not worth the price or service.

Pretty good chiliquilies with tomatillos and chili green sauce and 2 eggs on top. I got my eggs over easy, included onions, cheese and sour cream. The green sauce was nearly perfect, supplemented by a side of medium green sauce 'cuz I like extra sauce.

Amazing little hole in the wall. I first came here about 5 years ago and I keep on returning. I highly recommend the green enchiladas. Ask for a piece of chopped bistec on top. So good.

Bad customer service,bad attitude, food is bland and charge extra for onions and cilantro i ordered pozole and charge extra for flavor (onion ,cilantro and oregano other spices) they really lost a customer im definitely not going back

If you want clean delicious Mexican food, try this place! It reminds me of the food my mom cooks at home, and the owners were super sweet!

I am glad I gave this spot a try, it's always the hole in the wall restaurants in LA with the best food. I have honestly never tried a huarache as good as this one! If you want good authentic food, this is the spot. Their quesadillas were also amazing! Fast service! And their salsas just make everything better. 10/10 recommend.

This place sucks more then once I've place a phone order and when arrived to pick up my order wasn't ready and they have the audacity to say I never placed an order shit place only 3 table to sit bad service if you wanna wait 30 plus min for a damn burrito order from here

I was super starving, and decided to give spot a try. I was not disappointed! It's a whole in the wall, but the food is ! I'll be back, thank you.

My family and I came in and when we got there everyone was rude, I asked for napkins and the lady seemed to be bothered and she rolled her eyes and threw the napkins at me, I'm pretty sure no one wanted us there, the food was good but overall if you want rude service go ahead.

Amazing hole in the wall. Amazing. We stop once a year before going to the LA Auto Show. The family there is so nice. Outside has no reflection on the quality of their food. We had ribs mexican style amazing, carnitas amazing and haurache (if that's how u spell it) amazing. The bread on the haurache is one of a kind. They also have hand made tortillas.

Yumm is all I got to say. Portions are great and quality is amazing. Try their Chile rellenos you will love them. Definitely my go to spot in LA.

Extremeley bland food. got my order wrong. I asked for my food extra spicy because I really don't like food without hot sauce. Not only did he forget to put hot sauce on, but he initially refused to give me the guacamole because it was spicy. When I told him that's exactly what I wanted to pay for, he said ok. When it arrived, it had neither guacamole nor hotsauce. He wouldn't remake it, even though he made it wrong. He acted as if he messed up my order on purpose. I am always very forgiving when people get my order wrong because I know they make mistakes. But they DELIBERATELY gave me my order wrong. It is a different thing if you give me the wrong order on purpose. Absolutely awful service.

Best breakfast burrito I've had in Los Angeles! Extremely fresh tortilla, perfectly scrambled eggs, & the most delicious beans. I would come here just for the beans & for those of you that know what I mean check it out for yourselves. Ace!

The food is good here. No problem except the guy who takes your orders has no good customer service. He rushes, forgets, mixes, sweats, or does not repeat the order. Cmon no pressure like for real. Stay calm. Nevertheless, the food taste good here and can not complain about that. Ps: although the food price is insane. This ain't no five star restaurant. Nigga taxes also. Four stars cause I'm nice. Hahahaha

Small hidden gem with delicious, authentic Mexican food. The pozole is A+ and the chiliquiles will make you want to come back.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican this is the place to go to everything they make they make it from scratch and really delicious my favorite plate is the Chile rellenos becouse they make them really big and with a lots off cheese inside them. Just to make short this is the real deal en Mexican food.

This is a wonderful hidden gem of a Mexican restaurant. Just about everything here is good and lives up to its name, "Sabor Mexicano" meaning Mexican taste. If you come, you have to try their huaraches. Huaraches are basically long fried tortiIlas with bean spread and your choice of meat. I have rarely had one that had that authentic Mexico City taste. Usually places either overcook them to the point that it feels toasted or to avoid this make them too soggy which is almost as bad. Here the huarache is just right. Make sure to pick it up like a tostada and eat it with your hands. There are reviews pointing to the service being rushed and unpolished, and though I can agree that it may seem so this is not Acapulco or El Torito, this is a hole-in-the-wall restaurants in which husband and wife cook and serve. If you're looking for excellent service go to one of those fake Mexican restaurants mentioned above. If you're looking for authentic tasting Mexican food, come here.
