Sacrée Fleur Montmartre

This steak changed my brain chemistry. It’s the best steak restaurant that I’ve tried in Paris, I had no notes. The steak is brought to you on a sizzling hot plate which keeps the steak warm. It’s served with flaky salt and 3 sauces!! Pepper, shallot and Gorgonzola. The frites were super crispy and fluffy on the inside. Dessert was spectacular, it was like a show and a dessert all in one! The service is impeccable and the vibes were very cosy, it was perfect for a date night!

We got the Traditional Onion Soup, Mini Beef Tartare, Prime Rib Steak and a Crème Brûlée for 2 people. We really enjoyed the beef tartare which paired really well with their house bread. The steak comes out on a very hot stone plate and sizzles aggressively. It can spit hot grease on you and you'll definitely smell like steak after dinner. It was accompanied by 3 sauces, the shallot being our favourite. Would be curious to try some of their other steaks. Highly recommend making a reservation.

We had such a fantastic experience! I emailed the night before about a reservation and received a speedy, friendly response with confirmation. The place itself is cozy, rustic, and authentic—truly charming. The meal did not disappoint: the steak was superb, served on a skillet so we could cook it exactly how we like it. The service was amazing, with a wonderful wine recommendation from our waiter. The dessert—a gorgeous cheese board—was the perfect finish. Highly recommended! This gem in Paris is definitely a place we’ll be recommending to friends, and we can’t wait to come back.

The cozy, intimate atmosphere near Montmartre makes it ideal for a dinner out, and the wine selection pairs beautifully with the menu. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the value for the quality is excellent. Make sure to book ahead this gem fills up fast!

We made a reservation in advance through their email and they were very responsive. Easy enough to do! You must make a reservation if you’d like to dine. They get very busy. We got the cote de boeuf for 2 and it came on a sizzling platter with 3 dips (pepper, onion and blue cheese). In reality this meal could feed 3 people as its so large so you may not finish. We finished the steak but had no room for fries. We finished with the traditional creme brulee and it was perfection!

During our family trip to Paris we decided to try several restaurants that specialize in steak frites. We did $$$ - $. However we only went to restaurants that we could get a reservation. The winner by a landslide was Sacrée fleur. They won on all counts. We had the onion soup. And the duck pate for starters. Then the main course. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. It was served on a hot griddle like plate so if you needed it a little more cooked you could. We got three different sauces and a huge skillet of frites. Sooooo GOOD. The dessert winner was the Brioche French toast. The place is intimate (small). But there were 6 of us and we did not feel closed in. The staff was fun and helpful. We made our reservation 2 weeks in advance especially since there were 6 of us. You will not be disappointed

SACRÉ BLEU, SACRÉ FLEUR. We started strong — escargot, tartare, and French onion soup that could make a grown man weep. 10/10, not a single note to change. And that bread basket? Honestly, I’m still thinking about it. Quite possibly the best bread I’ve ever had — crunchy crust, soft center, straight from carb heaven. Then came the steaks — ribeye and filet, both ordered medium rare but served somewhere between “fresh from the field” and “still mooing.” Flavor? Great. Doneness? Not so much. A generous 7/10 because I could practically hear the cow whisper “merci.” Crème brûlée for dessert brought redemption — a flawless, caramelized mic drop. 10/10. One small faux pas: they asked for a tip — which in Europe feels about as out of place as ketchup on a croissant. Overall? Mostly magnifique with just a few sour tastes. I’d go back… but maybe with a meat thermometer.

If I could, I would give 6/5. When we entered, the scent of steaks was great - we knew we made the right choice! The ribs were amazing, delicious. They bring it on a hot stone so you can grill it more if needed. Frog legs were also very nice. Staff was great - willing to help/explain/suggest, table was sorted nicely and practically. When we visit Paris again, we will make sure to stop by here!!!

We came here our first night in Paris, so Sacrée Fleur absolutely helped us adjust to the different restaurant customs between America and France. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the intimate setting and how small the space is - despite being compact, it never felt overly loud, which was a welcome change. The bread in France is, understandably, phenomenal. We got Frog Legs to start- I've only had them fried and my dad has never had them. They were delicious and I am so glad we tried them. For our entrees we split the entrecôte - which is a ribeye. While the steak was ok - there was nothing wrong with it; living in Texas just means I have good steaks, Sacrée Fleur was the beginning of 12 days of being obsessed with fries in Europe. The frites were delicious. It also came with 3 sauces - gorgonzola, shallot, and pepper. The real star (as a biased human with a massive sweet tooth), though, was the creme brulee. The crust on it was incredible - not too thick or thin, and the custard was so good. It was easily the best I've ever had. All in all, definitely delicious.

I was really excited for Sacrée Fleur and maybe hyped it too much in my mind. It was good but there was some room for improvement. Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

On our final night in Paris, we were looking for a good restaurant near our hotel and I stumbled upon Sacrée Fleur. It's a tiny restaurant, so if you're a party of two, you might share a table with others, but they have spacers so you don't feel like you're eating together. Reservations were easy to make. You email in your requested sitting and someone will get back to you shortly. We were able to get in a little ahead of schedule and start the adventure. Wines were reasonably priced and they had a good variety of cocktails. We hadn't had French onion soup on our trip, so we ordered it as an appetizer. Sometimes it can get a little salty, but these were very well blended. Sacree Fleur seems to be known for their steak and frites, so we ordered the steak for two. Steak comes out on a sizzling platter. You can turn the pieces over to keep cooking until your preferred temperature. It was quite succulent and the fries were well prepared. There are two dipping sauces and some salt to season your meal. We hadn't a great time and way too much food :)

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We were so excited to eat here after we saw a cool Instagram post and the reviews on social media. We were sorely mistaken on all fronts. To start the bread we were served was hard and difficult to even break off. The water serving container had hard water stains and crust on the rim of the bottle which was gross. We ordered the popular Cote de Boeuf for two which looked good as it got to the table, but we couldn't even stab the meat with our fork to transfer it to our plates. The meat was full of fat and was difficult to cut and even more difficult to chew. It was close to non-edible and we left a large portion untouched. This was so disappointing and I would advise anyone not to waste their money here. Feels like we've been robbed of our money and a good dinner.

This is such a wonderful little restaurant! The food was exceptional and the service was friendly and professional. We can't wait to return on our next trip to Paris!

I dream about this place. The best cote de boeuf ever. The meat is thick, juicy, and seasoned well. The fries are fresh and the sauces are homemade. You must email to reserve but they are always responsive and accommodating. They do speak English. It does seem mostly like tourist but don't let that deter you from the steak. Absolutely ammazinnnnngggg, I would move to Paris just for this place. If you're into dessert - the only caveat is they light their Tarte tatin on fire and the presentation looks great but at the end you do taste the lighter fluid. I'd rather opt out of this.

I wasn't exactly moved by any of the dishes but they weren't terrible either. Snails in cream were decent. The salad was bleh. The onion soup was a bit underwhelming. The steak cote de beof came served on a sizzling hot stone where you can finish off how you preferred. Problem was it didn't have any taste. Sure it comes with 3 sauces but it didn't really hit the spot.

This place was amazing. The service was so good and the food was nothing but exceptional. Best French fries I have had in paris and the shallot sauce they serve with the steak is truly next level. This was a memorable experiance. Littery a few "holes in the wall".. well not full holes :) I shared with them that a hole in the wall is the hallmark of a non corporate amazing resturant in the states. Made for a good laugh!

The best food we had in Paris. We will definitely be back again. Service was awesome. I emailed for reservations on a weekend but got a response soon after. Try fried frog legs, the escargot soup, beef tartare and entrecote with fries are so yummy!! Will post a short video and pictures soon. Very close to the Basilica possibly 15-minute walk but definitely worth it!!

What an excellent little restaurant. We had the opportunity to eat here twice while visiting Paris with our granddaughter in June of 2022. We are headed back to Paris next week and have reserved two nights while there. I know you all have been reading about AI lately. Since we are going back to Paris and my bride loves steak, I asked AutoGpt where I could find the best steak. No surprise the AI bot, after reading 2,000 reviews, confirmed Sacree Fleur was the best place in Paris for a steak. We are looking forward a really good steak!

This is a small, intimate,handsome restaurant and we were greeted warmly. We arrived a few minutes before our 6:30 reservation and to our surprise the restaurant was almost empty. Our waiter informed us that they would soon be full and those without reservations would be turned away - this is exactly what happened! The escargots arrived in a creamy mushroom sauce and were tender and flavorful. The frog legs were served on a bed of garlicky mashed potatoes and were earthy and satisfying. The duck filets in a black current sauce were incredibly and consistently tender - arguably the best duck preparation I had on this visit to Paris. The en point steak had a beautiful consistent rosy color with not a gram of fat. The sauces that complemented the meat enhanced the flavor and experience of the perfect, high quality meat. The service was helpful and attentive considering that each waiter served maybe half a dozen customers. The tables were typically close together so we got to know our neighbors who were returning customers from Switzerland - thrilled to be there again. I am sure we will return in the future. Be sure to make reservations two weeks in advance! This restaurant is located in a slightly funky area below Sacré Cour but buses and taxis were readily available.

I had such high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews that I had seen on social media. I snagged a reservation as soon as I could and showed up dressed to impress to have a heavenly bite of steak. My wife and I prefer our steaks at different internal temperatures so we ordered the entrecote steaks.. first of all the service was challenged, meaning the guys serving seemed only minimally interested in us enjoying our meals. However I had hoped that the steaks would make up for less than adequate service. The steaks were Colette chewy rubbery trash. No seasoning, but salt was on the board, so I'm ok with that. The steaks were extremely low quality and completely inedible. We both left them on the board unfinished. I am so disappointed in this experience. I wanted dessert and another couple of drink, but could not stand the thought of spending another dime here. Please do yourself the favor of staying far away. This was complete garbage and not at all in line with my expectations, basically ruined my night. I would give 0 stars if I could.

This was my absolute favorite restaurant that we ate at while we were in Paris. We came here for my birthday dinner and again one more time. The food was wonderful. It's not a large restaurant, so reservations are definitely recommended. Their filet is absolutely amazing. We plan to come back to Paris next year, and we will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place!

The steaks were some of the best I've ever had. The filet was cooked wonderfully and the ribs were just as great. It's small and quaint--you'd never notice it. Since it's outside the heart of Paris, it's not very busy which just makes it so much better. Service was fantastic and we were only there for an hour. The beef tartar was amazing as well--my boyfriend loved it. 10/10, we will be coming back!

Duck Confit: Duck leg was delicious and the meat fell right off the bone. It came with a delicious, savory dipping sauce. The first bite of the fried potatoes was amazingly flavorful. However, as I ate more, it became apparent that they were way too salty. Especially as a side to the already-savory sauce and lamb confit, it would have rounded out the dish if the potatoes were less salty. They were well-cooked, though. Pork: The pork chops were pretty underwhelming, and the side of carrots even more so. I felt that the duck was much more tender and had more flavor; the fried potatoes felt like they took more effort and thought than the carrots. But these two dishes cost about the same price. Overall, a little disappointed by the pork, but perhaps this restaurant is more known for their steak. The duck was good, but the potatoes were also too salty.

Amazing!!! Can't have enough to say about this place!! The best rib of beef I've ever had. Enjoyed ever bite. If you get a chance book ahead of time. Definitely worth it!!

Best meal in Paris. Started with Onion soup and Escargot cooked with cream followed by Côte de boeuf on hot stone. House wine was also good. Highly recommended steak place. Small place with a personal touch. Friendly staff. Just make sure you make a reservation early. We did email 2 weeks prior to make a reservation and confirmed 2 days before.

Doing a tour in montamarte area. Able to see moulin rounge and Sacre Couer. Lots of great restaurant in the area. This restaurant caught our eyes for the high ratings in Yelp. I was able to book a reservation online thru their website. Glad I did cause it was filled for lunch. We had our Thanksgiving lunch. Place is small but very personable. Good selection on their menu. Their steak for two was huge- tasteful and cooked perfectly; came with three dipping sauce and Frites. My wife got their lamb chops- cooked perfectly- not gamey at all. Clean bathroom!!! Service is excellent!!! Highly recommend.

Nataly N found us a great steak place to enjoy while visiting Paris. When we arrived, it was very clear a reservation was a must! While numerous others popped in and where turned away, we were quickly seated. From there, it only took a short review of the menu to decide we'd be getting the 1kg côtes de bœuf. The côtes de bœuf is cooked to order and served on a sizzling plate. It comes paired with potato wedge fries and a handful of dipping sauces (sea salt, a cheese, an onion, and a peppercorn in our case). The steak was a bit fatty, but melted in my mouth. I wasn't a huge fan of the peppercorn sauce, but the cheese and onion were completely gone by the time we were done. We accompanied our meal with a reasonably priced house red and ended with some solid creme brulee. Service wasn't over the top, but on point and patient with us as well. Overall, an excellent experience and I place I'd recommend a visit (with reservation) on any trip to Paris!

We were excited to try this place because the reviews were good, and the reservations were difficult to get. Spoiler alert: it was average. We began with the French onion soup (because, when in France...). The broth was perfectly flavorful, and I enjoyed he cheesiness in the bread while my husband thought the flavor overall was too cheesy. For entrees, we tried both the flank steak and the sea bass. We asked for the steak medium well. It was completely charred on the outside and tough. The sea bass was prepared well, but had room for more flavors. Both the fries that came with the steak and he veggies that came with the fish were good. Dessert: creme brûlée. It was tasty but charred on the top in some spots. Honestly, I've had better creme brûlée at many places in the US than I was able to find during our time in Paris.

Great food! Free water. This was absolutely one of the best meals I had in Paris. The escargot was the best I've ever eaten. My daughter and I split the flank steak and it was delicious. My sister had the sea bass and it was very good. For dessert we tried the flaming apple pie. It was good, but the pastry needs to be improved. Excellent service. You can tell they cook with love.

Our last night in Paris was spent walking around Sacree Coure so we made reservations at Sacree Fleur for dinner. This place is located in a rather shady area with closed businesses, graffiti and empty warehouses. I say this so you don't think your in the wrong neighborhood. It is a diamond in the rough. One of the bigger restaurants we visited during our stay in Paris. What I mean by that is the tables were spacey and there was room to walk around. You must make reservations. On Saturday and Sunday you cannot dine at all without one. I started with the onion soup which was delicious. One of the best I have ever had. Then we ordered - Côte de boeuf d'1 Kg which is ribeye steak with the bone still in. It was about 60€ but was for two to share. We ordered it medium and it came out a little more raw than we like. But... it came out on a sizzling coal plate. We were able to cook it to our liking right there on the table. Perfect! The flavor was outstanding and the three sauces provided were similar to brown gravy, spicy brown gravy and a sweeter sauce. All were delicious. The staff was curious, kind and the food came out very quickly! This place deserves 5/5 because they know what they are doing and do it well!

Best steak I've ever had in my entire life! Make sure you have a reservation here, they only have about 10 tables. Luckily my boyfriend and I were able to sneak in because another table didn't show up. Get the 2kg steak and split it. It's phenomenal.

This was our favorite meal in Paris. My husband had the duck and I had steak and frites. We also tried escargot (my first time!). We had an amazing time and sat next to a German couple (shout out to Caroline and Christian if you read this). Wine was phenomenal. Prices were VERY reasonable. Make sure to make a reservation though. A lot of people were turned away due to their capacity.

WOW. This was as good as I'd hoped it to be - meat lover's paradise. We got the steak for two and I got a rumpsteak for myself - comes with three sauces: bleu cheese, shallot and pepper. The two person portion was REALLY nice - we ordered it rare and it came on a hot marble plate so it could continue to cook in case you wanted it to. There was also a huge side plate of potato wedges on a skillet. Also, just to make you feel less guilty for eating all that meat, you get a nice mixed vegetable salad with balsamic dressing. For dessert (if you can handle it) they have quite a few suggestions. I loved my brioche french toast style - yum! My friend got the apple tart - it comes on fire! :)

Amazing. Dined here before the Moulin Rouge in August 2022. Coming back in December and cannot wait to have my friends experience this local favorite.

I found this little restaurant through a combination of searches on Yelp, Trip Advisor, and Google. I'm very happy that I did because this is a gem of a restaurant with excellent food, great service, and a wonderful ambience. My dining partner and I absolutely loved this place! The restaurant is tucked away in an area that is not a typical tourist area and has just a hint of "sketchiness." Don't let that even be a consideration though. We had made reservations via email and replies to my initial inquiry as well as subsequent inquiries were prompt and friendly. I wrote in English and I got replies in English. Our reservations were for 7 PM on a Saturday evening. We arrived promptly at 7 PM via an Uber taxi, and when we entered the restaurant, it was empty except for the staff. We were given a friendly greeting and offered to sit wherever we chose. We wanted to get a good view of the entire restaurant (which isn't very big) and the kitchen, so we chose a table at the back near the kitchen. I'm really happy we did that. The menu was in French but easy enough to figure out...although, we asked our waiter to bring an appetizer that he thought was their very best. He selected the escargot. It was very different than escargot I have had in the past. It was served in a heavy sauce that was delicious. We did the same with the wine. The waiter selected a nice Médoc Bordeaux. My partner and I very much enjoyed it. For our main courses, we again asked the waiter to select what he thought were the two best dishes, and just as with the appetizer and wine that he selected, we were very happy with his choices. Both dishes were excellent. Naturally, we asked our waiter to select desserts and once again he picked two winners: crème brûlée and flaming orange crepes with Grand Marnier. Both were outstanding. The owner poured a couple glasses of a nice dessert wine for us, which didn't show up on the check. I don't know what it was but it was very good. Finally, we had coffee, and it too was good. Last but not least: the check was very, very reasonable for the feast we had. That was the icing on the cake! It is not often that everything from the reservation to paying the check and walking out go so flawlessly. This was one of those times. I have no doubt that many people who dine here have that experience. I hope you do too! Very highly recommended!

Hands down best restaurant we ate at during our stay in Paris. Ambiance was nice, service was warm and inviting and the food quality AMAZING. Onion soup, escargot, beef tartare, frog legs, filet...everything delicious. Make reservations with Stephane though or you will get denied at the door.

I searched the 18th to find a great place for my honey's 50th birthday dinner and I think I had one of my best meals here... The restaurant was very country cozy and had a rustic vibe to it. I started with the Escargots which were amazing and he had the French onion soups. My escargots were cooked perfectly with a light cream sauce. Boyfriends soup could have been a little more onion and cheese, it was a little brothy. For the entree. I ordered the lamb and he had veal with mushrooms. Both cooked to perfection and nicely served. Crime Brullee was fantastic. Amazing meal with 2 appetizers, Main course, desert, bottle of wine and coffees 100 euro...

I wish I could like this place more, since one of my friends raved about this place, and I've never heard her raving about any restaurants. She recommended the escargots, which I agree were fantastic. The sauce was incredibly thick and creamy and rich, and the snails were out of their shells already, so we didn't have to work to get the meat out :) Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the frog legs or the beef tartare. They were tasteless and really need salt. Maybe I love salt, but the frog legs really do need salt! They were very flavorless (rubbing them in paprika sprinkled on the rim of the plate helped, but that wasn't enough), and none of my friends were crazy about them either. The beef tartare was very bland, not what I was expecting at all (this was my first time ordering tartare at a restaurant, but I've had a tartare sample at a Yelp elite event, and I really loved that one). It was a cool experience mixing the tartare with the egg yolk and veggie garnishes and mustard & ketchup sauces. Even so, despite all these garnishes and sauces, the tartare tasted pretty bland. Kinda weird. Oh well. It's just my preference to go to any good cheap bakery with fresh pastries and sandwiches over any fancy dining :)

We had a fantastic experience here! The atmosphere was wonderful, the people were incredible, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Kendal and Serdar made us feel like royalty and provided outstanding service. The chefs also prepared our out-of-this-world meal to perfection. I would highly, highly recommend this restaurant!

Did not realize how popular this restaurant was when we selected it but they were able to quickly accommodate our party of 4. The restaurant is on the smaller side and it seemed like they had a few reservations so I was happy with this. The waiters are kind and knowledgeable. They choose some great wines for us to try. The food is amazing!! We ordered the duck, the steak, the frog legs, the escargot and the meats for 2. I can't remember how to write it in French. Everything was cooked to perfection. Portion sizes were big and I felt we got a lot of food for the price. I think our total bill for 4 was around $135. This place is def worth going to

Fantastic dinner and reasonably priced. The onion soup was delicious and the meat and duck confit was tender and perfectly prepared. The creme brule was smooth and the flambéd tarte tartin was loveley, although a little on the heavy side. I was a little annoyed by the lighting which was flickering because of the fans which is the only reason i did not give a 5 star rating, i wanted to give 4,5.

This was my first meal in Paris this past trip. It was probably the best, too. While I was in town, I dined at mainly €€-€€€ restaurants and almost exclusively in the Montmartre area where I was staying. If you're a vegetarian, I'm not sure there are a lot of options for you here. But if you like steak, this is the place to go. I went for the filet with fries. It comes with three sauces like the other diners said (blue cheese, onion and peppercorn). They were all excellent. You MUST have reservations. I saw this on the restaurant's website, but I couldn't make reservations because there wasn't enough time before when I wanted to be seated (about two hours), so I thought I would wing it. I arrived at 8:15pm and the manager first turned me away, but when he realized I was a single diner, he asked if I could be done by 9pm. I said, "of course!" and got one of the empty tables. The reason is that there are two seatings -- 7pm and 9pm. So because there was an extra unused table from the first seating, and he could tell I wouldn't be there longer than to consume the meal (especially after I promised), they let me dine. And I was grateful because it was delicious. Many customers came in later and were turned away if they didn't have reservations. It's a small restaurant and the 9pm seating was fully booked, so plan ahead.

I love this place! It is my favorite restaurant in all of Paris. I came here twice in the summer of 2016, and once more this summer in June. The food is absolutely amazing. This place offers authentic French cuisine with amazing service. :) Please do not be deterred by the wait for food because everything is homemade. Take the time to talk to your friends while you wait for the food, or sip on some wine. The servers are very attentive from the moment you walk in to the moment they open the door for you as you leave. They give great recommendations for wine Of the times I've been, I have had for appetizers: the traditional onion soup and foie gras (my favorite!). For the main dishes: I really enjoyed the côte de boeuf for 2 as it came out on a hot sizzling plate so even though it was more rare than the medium rare I expected, I could cook it a little to my own liking. I absolutely loved the ambiance of the restaurant, it's very cozy. It really is a treasure in a somewhat rough neighborhood. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time, especially if you are coming with a big party! Sometimes, they may be able to squeeze a party of 2-3 if you didn't make reservations.

Wow, ok? Just wow. Wonderful place! We saved it for our last night in Paris (also my wife's birthday) and we were glad we did. Splendid food, amazing service. Examples: We walked in at the appointed hour. Another couple walked in right behind us and because I held the door open for them they walked in front of us and asked to be seated. They had a reservation too, but the maître d' said, "The couple behind you were here first, so sorry," and seated us immediately at our choice of tables. We didn't have to ask. (I'm sure I wouldn't have done so on my own!) He had his eyes open and did exactly the right thing. We were brought a carafe of water (no pushing bottled water!). When it was 2/3 depleted the waiter came by, grabbed it and instantly replaced it with another. He did this three more times. The maître d' also handled tabled. He'd take someone's order and then go back and shout the details to the folks in the kitchen. Since we were near the open(ish) kitchen, we could hear him. After putting the order in, he actually thanked the kitchen staff! Politesse. And class. The bread was the best we had in France this trip. Perfect. It came with butter, a rarity in France unless you ask. This is French food, but their specialty is steak. I had the entrecôte. My wife had the fillet. Both splendid. The steaks came with three sauces: a sweetish sauce made of caramelized shallots, a Roquefort sauce, and a pepper (au poivre) sauce. They were all terrific. The steak came medium rare as we asked. Perfectly cooked. My dessert was a fantastic crème brûlée. My wife had a kind of chocolate soufflé called a moelleux au chocolat. The outside was firm, the inside soft and warm. Both desserts were exquisite. If I could give six stars I would. Get a reservation! The place is small, maybe 12 tables. You would be very lucky to walk in, at least on a busy summer night. And if you don't reserve, by all means try. But for heaven's sake don't complain if you are turned away! These folks operate on a tight margin with so few tables. They can only handle so many people. Dining is a two-hour long experience. Empty tables a half hour before closing are part of the plan. It's amazing that some people don't get this. Do make that reservation. You will be thanking me and the others who have rated this place so highly.

Food was fresh and very tasteful. Wine was delicious. Service was excellent. I recommend this restaurant to those visiting or living in area.

**MY FAVORITE BISTRO IN PARIS** J'adore MARGUERITE! Love the motif (cow), atmosphere, and most importantly LA FOOD! Took the family here since we all stayed in the Montmartre area. ORDERED: *CASSOLETTE ESCARGOTS (12 EUR) Typically I would get snails with tons of garlic and butter, however, these snails were soaked in white wine and mushrooms which went very well together. One of my favorite dishes! *JARRET DE PORC (15 EUR) This was my BEST DISH I've had in Paris! It was like osso buco, but BETTER! Well-priced for the portion and quality of the meat. Tender and wonderful with every bite. Sauce was superb. Presentation as well. *SOUFFLE ABSINTHE (10 EUR) This was my bad. I should have inquired about this BEFORE ordering. I don't like black licorice so the taste of the absinthe (instead of Grand Marnier) made me gag. No fault of the restaurant. Next time, I will order their housemade tiramisu instead. We paid around 258 EUR for 6 persons which included wine, 3 courses each, and some coffee. This was a deal, considering the food quality, excellent customer service, and the ambiance. Hands-down my favorite bistro in Paris thus far. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Great hole-in-the-wall place with (unusually for Paris) extra friendly service. Last month the bf and I took a 2 day excursion with a friend to Paris in the middle of our trip to Spain. We stayed in Montmartre and the front desk man at our hotel recommended this place to us as it was walkable from our location and reasonably priced (again usual for Paris!). The service was what really stood out for me here. The food was terrific of course, but in Paris you can get a plain hard-boiled egg and it will taste better than an egg anywhere else in the world; Parisian service, however, is not usually something to rave about. Marguerite surpassed my expectations tenfold. Our waitress was so warm and friendly and, even with her limited English, made us feel extra-welcomed. No one amongst the 3 of us in the group are avid wine drinkers but as we were in France we decided we should get wine with dinner. Being that we don't usually order wine with our dinners we could not decide on a good one. Our waitress went over several ones with us and when we told her we wanted something on the sweet side, preferably rose or white, she picked out a wonderful bottle for us that was not on the menu and not over-the-top in price. It was exactly what we were looking for; she knew her stuff. I do also have to comment that the filet de boeuf I had was excellent, cooked exactly the way I requested, and the 3 sauces that accompanied it could have been drunk right from the small bowls! HAHA. The bf had a whole fish en croute that he loved (served inside the salt crust that formed a shell encasing the fish). He loved how the whole fish was served with head, tail and skin as well; his Chinese palate is much more receptive of that (I like boneless, skinless, fileted fish. haha). For dessert was a tarte tartin en flambe which was quite the table-side production. The whole experience was wonderful. If you are staying in the Montmartre area and want typical Parisian cuisine this place should be checked out. The fact that we were among the few foreigners there (in a packed restaurant) says something, in my opinion, about the quality.

Cute bistro in Montmartre that I dragged J to as soon as he arrived in Paris. He probably would've enjoyed the experience more if he wasn't dead tired from the plane ride, the train ride, and the walk to get there haha. AMBIANCE: We were the only diners when we arrived around noon. I guess Parisians take their lunch later in the day? Or maybe it was because it was a random Thursday lunch. The restaurant was quite dim inside, as the only natural light that entered the space came from the two windows up front. SERVICE: There was one man smoking on the stoop when we arrived, and he ended up being our go-to man for everything during our meal. He was very friendly, but spoke VERY limited English... despite our attempts at pointing and miming, we still ended up getting the order wrong. It wasn't a big deal, but it probably would've helped to have a stronger understanding of French. FOOD: Homey and yummy. We ordered the prix fixe lunch menu (salad/appetizer, entree and dessert). Nothing fancy or super special, but it hit the spot. I recall the menu being very reasonably priced. OVERALL: Not a restaurant I'd go out of my way for, we were in the area and it was satisfying.

After our most recent visit to Paris we stayed in Montmarte, we ate at several different restaurants around the area and we saved this one for our last night before we left. The onion soup was delicious, the escargot it was delicious, I had the ribeye and it was cooked perfect and the seasonings were perfect, my wife had the onglet, which I finished, and it was awesome. Neither of us really ate too much of the fries, we were both focused on the stage. We had the orange crepe flambé for dessert which I would highly recommend.

This was easily our favorite meal while in Paris. Everything from service to food to wine was incredible. The owner and his cousin, our server, went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. Definitely make a reservation and go here!

This was definitely delicious and a reservation is definitely recommended. I was lucky enough to live a block away and swung by one night to see if they had any free tables, lucky for my partner and I, there was! The starter was a cheese puff pastry salad w/ sprouts. Each of the cheese puffs were different, I wish i knew! We each had one and shared the third. They had varying degrees of sharp flavors, but each were baked/fried perfectly in a bed of delicious pastry. The salad was okay, but the main star was of course the pastries. Each steak comes with a small salad with balsamic and then a frying pan of fries on the side. For dinner i had a cut I wasn't sure of and my partner had the fillet mignon. Her's was smaller, but more delicious and tender. While my steak was larger, it was a bit too chewy and fatty for me. What surprised me was that both steaks came out with 3 sauces. In my past experiences, usually this is not the case when you order steak because they want you to enjoy the flavor. I guess because the steak wasn't aged and even though we had ordered medium rare, the steak sauces (Mustard, peppercorn, and a sweet shallot/onion style) were a good touch. As I mentioned, mine was a bit too fatty so I used the onion and peppercorn one often enough. Based on her dish, i'd give it a 5, but based on mine, i'd give it a 4. either way. definitely good steak, but not the best I've had.

This place is everything and more. When you think of classic French food this is the place the will deliver high quality, fairly priced food without the snotty, arrogant waitstaff that are so characteristic of Paris. This place is likely quite a bit out of the way if you are a tourist in Paris, as it is in the mainly locals neighborhood of Montmarte. The street it is on does not look like much, but do not be discouraged! If you want to dine here (and believe me you really should if you can) you MUST make a reservation. This restaurant has less than 15 tables and therefore is booked solid any day of the week. In order to book a table you need to email the owner and he will tell you the available times. When you come here make sure to order their beef, it is their house specialty and really is uniquely delicious.
