Sadhana Forest

We visited there as a visitor just out of curiosity. They explained everything patiently and showed us around. Since we visited during evening time, it's dinner time around there so they provided us with good vegan food. We enjoyed the new experience and got amazed truly. Planning to stay more to get more experience on the natural living.

I visited this place based on Google reviews, mainly out of curiosity. It is well established for its purpose and is designed for both short and long stays guests can stay for a week or even longer. The experience is centered around living close to nature, with a strong focus on sustainability and eco-friendly practices, so visitors should come prepared for that kind of environment. There are dormitories for individuals as well as separate accommodations for families. The food is prepared on site and is entirely vegan, and the property also includes a cattle farm. Overall, it offers a unique and meaningful experience, though it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. For casual visitors, spending about two hours here is more than sufficient.

What an inspiring place and people! If you're anywhere near Auroville or Puducherry it's a must! Vegan or not you'll be amazed at the place, the people and the vision! You'll get a free bus there from Solar Kitchen in Auroville on Friday for the film night and a free vegan meal after the inspiring tour. You can however go there anytime. It's a gift economy so everything is free! You might leave changed in unexpected ways or you might even want to volunteer. Whatever, the experience is unmissable!

Visiting Sadhana’s forest was not only very insightful, it was a true inspiration to see how its community fully commits to a life set by values that seed from compassion. Everything they do originates from compassion. They take care of Mother Earth by planting trees and by conserving water. They are a vegan community; nothing they use goes to waste. Furthermore, they keep cows as friends. Being there, sharing a meal and talks with the people there left me with a warm and inspiring feeling. But what touched me most was our cow connection class. It was a chance to be close to these beautiful, loving animals, brushing them, and feeling that they enjoyed my company. I felt that I was able to add in some small way towards the healing of the great trauma these animals have been through. Thank you, beautiful Sadhana Forest team. 🧡

We went to Sadhana Forest on a Friday at 4pm, we were welcomed and informed that there would be an orientation session at 4:30pm. Luke held the orientation session with over 200 active listeners. He was very engaging, and captivated and engaged the audience and explained all about how the live sustainably at Sadhana, care for nature and animals, how they plant trees, cook their own food and conserve every drop of water. Luke later took us around on a tour of the facility, showing us the kitchen, homes, the forest, mud lake and the gaushala. All are welcome at Sadhana, irrespective of age, gender and caste - a very humane way of living. They welcomed us to a free Vegan organic meal after the tour, but could not stay back due to prior engagements. I strongly recommend that you should go and experience this place at least once, to learn that there are other ways to live too!

The best place for the nature lovers, and vegan lovers. I lived in sadana forest for 5 days, those 5 days are amazing days in my life. The people over here are like such a kind and loving. Learned so many things from everyone.

I’ve been following Sadhana Forest for a long time, and finally visiting it in Auroville was truly inspiring. The place is more than just a forest. It’s a living project focused on sustainability, afforestation, and creating a thriving ecosystem. The volunteers there live and work with such dedication, protecting the environment. You can feel their passion in everything they do, from planting trees to caring for the wildlife and nurturing the land. It’s a rare place where people are genuinely committed to making a difference for our planet, and visiting it leaves you both peaceful and motivated.

We stayed for a week in Sadhna Forest with our 5 year old child. It was one of the most life changing experience for us. They are a very child friendly community and belive in giving the kids freedom to thrive and grow. Our son cycle all around the forest which is 22 years long journey of Aviram and the beautiful family he had built. We were loved, appreciated and treated with kindness. There were volunteers doing seva from across the globe. Everyone lived together with same values. We got to learn a lot with the activities and workshops organized by volunteers. My child and wife left with a heavy heart but a soul full of experiences hard to express in a review. For me personally it was a very raw experience, and after a day I thought I couldn't live it this way. Something still kept me going and by day 3 I was already adjusted and by a week I was happy I came here. It was life changing how I went from so many feelings and at the end I thank Sadhna community for all the respect and love they gave me. They are living example of compassion, community, seva service and nurturing children. Thankyou to Aviram, Abhilash, Sandhyaji, Aman, Luke, kuldeep, Olga, and the entire Sadhana communitu.
