This review applies to the camping. Nice location, close to a fjord. Very simple sanitaries, the hot tubs offer a nice view over the fjord, but are rather lukewarm than hot.

Does the job for a place to stay for the night, but sadly I wasn’t super impressed. I see a lot of these reviews are for the campsite, we stayed in the hostel. Bed is comfy and we appreciated the cozy common areas. Beautiful surroundings as well! Sadly it was cold and windy during our stay, so we didn’t get to use the hot spring. The hostel is a bit run down and needs some love though. Our room was very basic, not really homey and comfortable. No soap for our sink, no trash can, no hand towels, pillows were very flat, only one outlet in the entire bedroom. The bathrooms were okay - one only had half a roll of toilet paper and another one the sink was clogged and full of dirty water. The whole house is hard concrete floors and thin walls, so you do hear every door and footstep from your neighbors echoing around. Our room was also right next to the door that leads outside so we were constantly hearing people come in and out until almost midnight. Also if you have a downstairs room, it’s a very steep, narrow staircase to get down there, have to be careful. It’s just clear that it hasn’t been updated in a while and maybe this place is more for campers or people quickly passing through. I wish I could give this a higher rating, I was excited to stay here 😕

My wife and I stayed at this campsite for one night in our campervan. The location is amazing: the campsite is right on the shores of the fjord. The communal area is simple but "authentic", spacious, and has an incredible view of the sea. There are plenty of tables, two sinks, a kettle, a microwave, and power sockets, but there are no communal cooking hobs. There was a nice atmosphere during dinner, also thanks to the board games available for guests. The bathrooms (with showers) are simple and functional. For us, this was one of the most authentic campsites we stayed at in Iceland!

The campsite is in a very quiet, peaceful location overlooking the water. I was travelling in a campervan and it had everything I needed. There is a spacious kitchen & dining area (need your own cooking things although I believe there is a single ceramic hob). Toilets were clean (no paper-towel or dryer provided to dry hands). The shower is an open shower - it looked like there are 2 showers in the same stall with no door for privacy, so if you’re modest this is not for you! There’s also a small geothermal hot tub included in the price although the water in it didn’t look very inviting.

The best camping in Iceland we have been to. ⛺️👌Beautifully located 🤩, intimate, with a thermal pool and hot water in the shower. Spacious kitchen with a dining area and a beautiful view of the lake, but note that you must have your own gas stove! No cooktop. The equipment includes a kettle and a microwave. Very nice staff ☺️

Stayed in the campground. Lots of indoor space in the kitchen - only pro besides the view. There is only one hot plate and everyone was just bringing in their camp stoves to cook. Bathrooms smelled of urine and showers were communal.

The camping is ok but nowhere near other campings we stayed in. A bit overpriced for what it offers. There is a hot spring but its very small, we didn't get to use it because it was constantly occupied. The common area is warm and spacious and has nice views to the fjord. There are two sinks and induction stove, but no adaptor for it for the camping pots that usually need it. Strict recycling rules, which I found great, but most of the guests don't follow them correctly. The bathrooms are the style of the hot baths changing rooms - the space to leave your things and change is spacious, but the showers are communal and open, so it might not be for everyone. There is hot water always as its geothermal. I give three stars for the views and lovely cat that was greeting the guests. However he seems a bit abandoned in the camping, I hope he gets taken care of by the owners.

Beautifully situated on the shores of a fjord. There was plenty of space between campervans, as it wasn't overly crowded. The included geothermal hot tub is a nice bonus! The indoor kitchen was clean and equipped with a microwave and electric kettle. My only complaint is the washrooms, especially the showers. There are two showers in each washroom that are side by side and completely open, so if you're not into showering naked with strangers this may be a drawback. That being said, for only 2200 isk per person this is a great campsite.
