Safari Lodge and Campground

Beautiful rain forest, people were lovely and helpful, cabin was great. The campground facilities were perfect, clean and tidy and the pool was great for cooling off!. The ocean safari was fabulous you must do that!!!.. we even saw a cassowary on the boardwalk was amazing.

Absolutely amazing! The campgrounds are just the perfect size overall, leaving everyone with some privacy and space. Bathrooms, toilets and camp kitchen amazingly clean and the pool area a perfect place to relax after a day of adventure. Perfect location with no need to drive to the shop or pub and Cafe on site for early morning coffee. We absolutely loved our stay!

We had a nice stay at Safari lodge. We only stayed one night as the Reef excursions were unfortunately fully booked on our dates. It was very nice to see the beautiful blue butterflies flying around from our balcony. The kitchen was fully equipped, definitely more then we expected only based on the pictures. The shared bathrooms were kept clean. We would recommend.

We booked two rooms at Safari Lodge on Bookings.com for our four travellers. One twin room was listed as a King cabin, the second was a double. The King room has a toilet and shower, the double does not. This was initially a bit of a shock for our daughters as they had to use the shared facilities - however these were close and *very* clean. We had a great night at the location, so would not hesitate to recommend (the staff at reception and the Turtle Cafe were really helpful and friendly). My only reservation for other travellers is that Cape Tribulation is a remote stop and might be best visited on a day trip from Port Douglas as there isn't much to do there (you cannot swim at the beach due to marine stingers and crocs, and there are only a few public forest walks).

We stayed here for 3 nights in a camper van. It is a remarkable place, surrounded by a beautiful rainforest (many of the campsites are under the trees). A lot of fantastic animal observations are possible on the campgrounds, and at night, whole forest sings. Amenities were also flawless. Last but not least - a special highlight goes to Emma, who answered all of our questions, gave us on-point local recommendations and was overall very helpful. Thank you!

We arrived late and managed to get late check in which was good. But once we entered the room, things went downhill. Tried to close the curtain and the entire rod fell (was clear it was already broken and they just put it up delicately as it was not screwed in and the pole had a giant nail in it to make sure it at least stays until touched). The fan also did not work, so it was very very hot. The beds are good enough for being 3-star and the amenities are nice. Seems to have a good cooking area but I never got the chance to use it. For the EARLY RISERS like me, listen up. The cafe opens at 7:30am, don’t even bother trying to get a coffee before then as the staff will make you wait. I get it, that’s the hours but this isn’t hard to just provide as many other places do. Overall, I wouldn’t stay again but for those who have lower standards and needs, maybe this place is more for you.

We had an incredible stay at Safari Lodge. Stunning, modern and clean cabins equipped for everything you need during your stay. The site had great facilities available - kitchen / BBQ area and a lovely pool for cooling off. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Do not stay at Safari lodge without booking onto Ocean Safari for some of the BEST snorkelling you will do in Far North Queensland. Thanks for a beautiful break at your rainforest retreat 🤩👌

Stayed here 3 nights in total, we did a night on a non powered site we originally got a small site not big enough but they were very understanding and put us on a better site which we really appreciated. We then stayed in the smaller of the two types of cabins which the bed was quiet hard probably would've stayed in the roof top tent if we knew they didn't have showers and toilets then we still had to use the amenities with everyone else not the end of the world but just wasn't aware. The camp kitchen was good however the microwaves don't work which was very disappointing as we had a frozen meal to heat up as did others. Showers and toilets kept very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful when you ask them questions and need help. Overall pretty good just needs a few things sorted.
