I visited this historical moment first time in my life. My bad I arrived at that time when public access inside the tomb was not allowed. Overall experience was awesome uploading some of the photos which I clicked during my visit. Next time I will visit in the hours in which I can capture the real beauty this place.

one of those hidden gems in Delhi that beautifully combines Mughal architecture, history, and tranquility. Built in the mid-18th century, it marks the last grand Mughal tomb before the empire’s decline — and you can feel that blend of fading glory and timeless elegance in every corner. The red sandstone structure, white marble dome, and symmetrical Mughal-style gardens create a perfect backdrop for photography and quiet walks. The monument may not have the perfection of Humayun’s Tomb or the grandeur of the Taj Mahal, but it carries its own charm and calmness that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city. What I loved most was the peaceful atmosphere — unlike other tourist sites, this one isn’t crowded. You can sit by the fountains, listen to birds, and take in the serenity. The tomb complex is well-maintained overall, though a bit more care for the gardens and water channels would make it even better. It’s best to visit in the early morning or late afternoon when the sunlight enhances the red and golden tones of the stone. There’s ample space to explore, and the views from the top of the gate are quite scenic.

peaceful and underrated Mughal-era monument, Safdarjung Tomb is a great spot for a quiet historical walk. Built in 1754 for Nawab Safdarjung, it’s known as the last monumental garden tomb of the Mughals, and you can clearly see the classic charbagh layout, sandstone façade, and elegant dome inspired by earlier Mughal mausoleums. The place isn’t crowded, so you can really enjoy the symmetry, arches, and calm gardens. You’ll often find peacocks and parrots around, which adds to the charm. The architecture is beautiful, though some parts are slightly worn with age. Easy to reach via Jor Bagh Metro (Yellow Line) and affordable at around ₹25 for Indian visitors. Timings are 6 AM–7 PM. Overall, a peaceful heritage spot ideal for photography, history lovers, or anyone wanting a quiet escape from Delhi’s traffic.

Safdarjung Tomb is a beautiful and underrated historical site in Delhi that deserves more attention. It’s one of those places that blends Mughal architecture with peaceful surroundings, making it perfect for a relaxing visit or a quiet photowalk. The structure itself, though not as grand as Humayun’s Tomb, still offers a lot of charm with its domes, intricate archways, and large gardens. One of the best things about the tomb is how photogenic it is. Whether you're a professional photographer or someone who just enjoys clicking pictures, the symmetry, light, and detailed carvings offer plenty of great shots. It's also not as crowded as some other Delhi monuments, which makes it even better for photography or simply enjoying a peaceful walk. That said, it feels unnecessary to charge an entry fee here. The upkeep is minimal compared to some larger monuments, and making it free could encourage more locals and tourists to visit. It’s a great spot to unwind, learn a bit of history, or just enjoy the quiet charm of old Delhi architecture. Overall, Safdarjung Tomb is a hidden gem—good for a visit, even better for photography, and would be more inviting if it were free for all.

A nice and quiet place. Very less crowd. Quite clean as well. If you like visiting old monuments you should definitely pay visit once. Just 25 Rs per person ticket to see this beautiful monument. Carvings inside dome are well preserved. Lake and surrounding area can be developed further though.

It’s an amazing place to visit and the best part is anytime of the day. This visit was in the late evening because I wanted to see the lighting also. Morning hours have another level of beauty. Serene atmosphere and beautiful nature. Trees and birds chattering with each other. Evening was peaceful of another level. Very few people so it was less noisy and nosy. The tomb is beautiful. They don’t let you go near by in the evenings like daytime but still watching it from afar is also an experience

One of the most underrated monuments in Delhi which was so quiet when I visited, I actually had time to enjoy the architecture without being rushed. It shares the style and architecture with many other Mughal monuments in the city with intricate stonework and carvings on display. Tickets cost INR300 for foreigners and can be bought at the gate. Highly recommended!
