The hostel is well located, and I was happy to get a front 4-bed room with a balcony. The bed was clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and breakfast was basic but good for the price.
The front desk staff at check-in were kind, although the process was a bit slow. There’s also a €3 charge for luggage storage, which is good to know in advance.
Unfortunately, I had to check out two days early because my friend was placed in a room with no windows, which was filthy and had a strong sewer odor. When he asked for help, the management refused to switch rooms, saying none were available. They even sent someone to “inspect” the room, but instead of addressing the issue, they simply asked the other guests to shower — which was really disappointing and felt disrespectful.No resolution was offered by management
Because of that, my friend couldn’t stay, and we left two nights early. It was a shame, because our first night had actually been very good.
As a suggestion, I recommend lubricating all door hinges and, most importantly, showing more empathy toward guests when issues like this come up. The odor problem and poor handling by management really ruined what could have been a nice stay.
Overall, our first impression was positive, but the experience that followed turned into a bad experience. I hope management takes this feedback seriously — the location and potential are great, but guest care and cleanliness need improvement.
