Safeway

The Safeway itself is fine but my god I’ve done online/pickup orders many times and not a single time have they come out in a timely fashion. After using the app and telling them I’m here, I have to wait 10 minutes or more before it gives me a phone number to call and ask where they are. Kroger/King Soopers has this process perfected they are out and putting groceries in your car in 5 minutes or less. Either they need more staff or a redesign of their entire pickup infrastructure

I love this place. Self checkout is too small, but it never takes long if there is a line. I’m happier going here vs King Soopers. Parking is more convenient too!

The deli is always a nightmare go to a diffrent Safeway if you want somethingfrom the deli. They close the deli consistently about 2 hours earlier than any other Safeway. It's really inconvenient.

No regular belts open. Have to self checkout everything, manually type in vegetables etc, no room to put stuff, employees paid to just stand around. Took 15 minutes to move groceries around. Groceries is really a PITA here. The Era of good service is completely dead.

I shop SW most of the time, the checkout people know me…..all the staff are awesome….except when I went to purchase a Turkey for Thanksgiving- my app wouldn’t work in the store for their ‘digital coupons’ and the manager Janette wouldn’t ring up the sale price for me ( though the nice gentleman at the meat counter said they would). She has never been friendly or smile like I would think a manager that works with the public should be, and often times can be seen sitting out front smoking. Why she wouldn’t ring up the Turkey for sale ‘digital’ price is beyond me- so I left and bought my Turkey at King Sooper’s. On another note, the WiFi is so bad inside the store, my app just spins and I’m never able to use it- which sounds like is a common occurrence also. I continue to shop there because of the convenience, but not for my ‘ big groceries’.

Excellent store! Great staff-helpful, kind and they interact nicely. Can only say good things about the staff, cleanliness, selection and management. Just picked up cupcakes for the graduation party for Dakota Ridge High School and several students going to CSU. Baking staff were great so tell them thank you!

While in store, I was trying to use my app. When it didn't work at the check out, the employee said that their wifi was awful, and you have to choose your coupons before you come in. Who knows everything you're going to buy before you're going in? That excuse is terrible, and I will not be shopping there again.

I use Safeway drive up and go option every other week. Ian is the manager of that department and is absolutely wonderful! He remembers all his customers and if there are substitutions needed he always has the customers best interest at heart. I am a recent widow who was married to a professional chef so I use their prepared meals to get by. If there are substitutions needed I know Ian will make the right choice for me. He’s not only very likable but excellent at his job! All the regular pick up and go customers appreciate Ian and his excellent customer service!

Most of the times I go there they're out of things I need or they just don't stock the shelves because I hardly see anybody in the store. Usually only one cashier. The store is clean and not crowded but maybe that's why it's not crowded. The people that I do run into are friendly and nice But it's frustrating, on sale items are gone and there's nothing on the shelves like they don't stock them on the weekends.

I would not recommend the chicken from the deli at this location. It was undercooked, great way for everyone to get sick. This is completely unacceptable! I will be contacting the health department.

Horrible store and the staff is unkept and the store is filthy and unsanitary. Definitely wouldn't return.

I am disappointed to say that after shopping at this store for 23 years, I am done with them. In the past year I have needed to bag my own groceries most of the time while there is one or zero persons in the store to check me out. The one clerk is on break, that one line is backed up, or they ask me to wait until they can find someone. No customer service. No thank you. I go across to King Soopers and there are consistently 2-4 checkout clerks to get me out of there quickly and stress free.

Done shopping at Safeway. Honestly just disappointing. Self-checkout lady was staring over our shoulder while we use self check-out as if the cameras don't show exactly what is going on right in front of our face. I work in the industry and I get it but completely profiled, never will shop here again. 7/18/23 at 430 pm, train your employees better.

I love the location, but what's UP with the prescriptions ?? I've been trying to call for over a week. No one answers and my scripts say pending in the app for weeks now. This is why I left Walgreens!

Generally have a good experience at this Safeway location. Staff is friendly and they carry items that I really like.

Deli tortilla chips best in town. Great bakery but need to use butter and cream cheese or powdered sugar and water for frosting instead of shortening. Cakes and cookies should have up to 50% butter to shortening. Could call it the Butter Bakery. Need more meat sales. Family dinner specials every week is the new thing: End of a center bin meat department, Tuesday taco night: all on sale only $20 when purchased together: 2lbs lean ground beef, iceberg head organic option. Taco Seasoning, tortillas or shells, tomato, cheese and salsa. Instructions would be nice. (Serve-with suggestions like refried beans, rice, and guacamole, and sour cream. One to two per week.

I came here to grab some bakery goods before a hike, and sadly, they do not have the shelf of quick-sell bakery products like some other Safeways I've been to. I got a bagel and because I came early, it was still a bit warm! Quite fresh and delicious, yay.

Where is the customer greeting? The check out person did not acknowledge me, say hello or thank you. Plus, never once did she look at me. Two managers are on staff as well. Take some time to mentoring and acknowledge your customers....

Staff is great. Very friendly and helpful. Bob is awesome and has been there for a long time. Always dedicated to making the store better.

Really a bad experience here. I use to love Safeway even though it's over priced and selection is limited. Through this covid experience I feel it has been horrible to see how little staff cares and when seeking important items we needed instead of trying to help us Chad told just tough stuff. Since they aren't carrying products they once did, I'm not going to be going to Safeway anymore especially this location. I thought the location on Belleview and Kipling was bad, but turns out it's just the company morale and lack of customer service. This virus has really shown who companies are and I'm not impressed at all!

Always out of product. I go to the one on Wadsworth and they always have it. Not once but 15 times. I'm done forever. Last night they told me my soda was discontinued by manufacturer. The other Safeway had 24 12 packs and told me Canada Dry is not discontinued anything. Bad Safeway management. Horrible.

I like that their parking lot is easy to navigate and never crowded. Perhaps that's the symptom, though. There is a reason Safeway isn't crowded. They have management and staffing issues, we've found moldy packaged veggie and fruit trays, and the employees at the deli are clearly stressed out and massively understaffed. It's also really awful to have a cart full of groceries when they only have the express checkout lanes open. They force you into being 'that guy' checking out in the express lane with a weeks worth of food, and it's really awkward. No thanks.

Worst experiences every time I have tried to shop there. Took 6 trips and 4 phone calls just to find out where they keep Tejava Tea. It's usually advertised on sale with digital coupon, however no one knew where it was. They are usually out of whatever is listed on line as specials. Cashiers are rude. There is no self check out. Cashiers constantly ring up sale items at full price. There's a King Soopers a couple of blocks from Safeway where they staff is always helpful and pleasant and 12 self check out registers. Prices are considerably lower at King Soopers for the exact products. Recently deactivated my Safeway card because all my grocery and pharmacy purchases are made at King Soopers. Don't waste your time at this Safeway. No need to spend twice as much and be treated rudely. Wish I could give it Minus 10 stars.

I like this Safeway because it's BIG and has a great selection in general. I also like the checkers. Sometimes there's not enough checkers but the wait usually isn't long. I also have the discount card which of course helps with getting the advertised deals.

Least helpful meat department in the city. Meat manager is cranky and generally unhelpful.

It's OK. They are usually in stock on most things. My complaints include that I am constantly finding expired items, whether it's yogurt or cans of soup. I've had the same problem at the store on Bway in HR but not as bad as this one. Also, we request paper bags. When we first started shopping here, they'd load these thin, cheap no-handled paper bags to the brim so they were ridiculously heavy and the constantly ripped. Well we always ask for them to be "packed lightly" and they are incapable of doing this. They're always way too heavy. All the baggers except the nice red-headed kid (Trey I think his name is) are terrible at what they do, heaviness-wise and also they're too rough with produce and bread. Cody is especially inept. I really wish they'd get handled paper bags. UPDATE Sept 2013: They're still utterly incompetent at bagging. There is a new very strange guy doing a lot of the bagging, and when I asked him to bag them on the light side, he put about 20 lb of produce in one bag and said "it looks full, but it's light" and I was like "um, what? It weighs 20 lb and will definitely tear and ruin all our produce" and he was all put out. WTF.

Stocking up the hotel room with beverages and snacks. Clean and new place. 1st impression is good. One of the better Safeway stores I've been to.

Subs are not good, took me 10 min to get the guy behind the counter to find oil and vinegar on the shelf cause they didn't have it behind the counter.

The lines here are always as long as black Friday lines and I have shopped here about ten times. Each time, I find dozens of rotten items in produce. They literally NEVER go through and clear out old inventory. I would NEVER buy produce here again after about seven fails. Check the dates on absolutely everything and use this store as a last resort.
