Saffron Coffee

Highly highly recommend Saffron on your visit to Luang Prabang. The best coffee we’ve had in the whole place. Staff are very good and the food I had for breakfast was also very tasty. Plenty of seating and an overall nice relaxing vibe in the place.

Beautifully set coffee shop. The Laos latte is really good. There is a seating area right next to the river which gives a beautiful view of the river and the peace and quiet in the mornings. The inside of the coffee shop is good as well. The service is good and staff is friendly.

Sooo good ! The food is really good! One of the best bagel I tried! The banana was ok, not-enough banana for me but still good :) The view was beautiful and the place is really calm! want to come back !

A very relaxing cafe with 2 floors. There's air conditioning at the 2nd floor. The desserts on display all looks so good. We ordered an Iced Latte, Cascara Granola Bar & Carrot Cake. The food & coffee were delicious. Would have loved to try more of their dessert menu. A great cafe to try when in Luang Prabang.

This is the second place in town where you can get V60 coffee, which is great to see. The only real downside is the lack of choice when it comes to coffee beans. In my opinion, the coffee here was prepared better from a technical point of view, although it was served a bit too cool and in two different ways. My wife received her coffee already poured into a glass, while I was served a carafe and poured it myself. Overall, similar to the first place, it’s nice that such a spot exists. However, you can still feel that coffee culture here is slightly less developed than in Europe. Update after second visit - you can get proper cold brew 👌

Perfect coffee Spot. The cold brew coffee finally came without ice and the choice of put it later, you can Taste the nice flavour of the coffee. I ordered too a Ginger tea pot that came with warm honey and lime o the side. Totally recommend.

I am actually sad. I came here 2 years ago and loved the view, service, and coffee, but especially the Tamarind apple pie. It was so good, I'd wished I knew the recipe so I could eat it all the time. Now that I returned to laos, I was so excited I could visit Saffron again, but felt like quality has suffered a lot. The shop was crowded in the morning, and staff seemed overwhelmed. The apple pie was first of all served to us cold. It was so old and dry, we couldn't even cut into it and had to break off a piece with our hands. The staff kindly reheated it upon request, but it still tasted weeks old. The crust and even the inside of the pie was extremely dry and just sugary without much flavor, the apple slices so stale and chewy, you couldn't even bite or cut them into smaller pieces. This went from being one of the best, to becoming one of the worst pie I had in my life. I might still come for a coffee and view, but I guess we'll have to look somewhere for good pastries..

Food is great. Coffee is great. The people are great! The pancakes were nice and fluffy with an excellent chocolate sauce. Normally my sons would struggle to finish but they devoured them The bagel was delicious with kind of a tomato garnish. Delicious.
