I booked the room at the last minute and I didn't have many expectations. But it turned out to be a gem that we really liked and doubled our stay at the place.
The service - we were privileged to be Ploy's guests, who actually started managing the place only a month before, but treated it and the guests as if they were hers for ages.
The garden - huge trees and tropical plants in abundance on the shores of the sea and plenty of places to sit and shade. The absence of a beach is actually an advantage, there is no people traffic, and apart from occasional guests to the restaurant, the place is very quiet and calm.
The room- is old but decorated simply and tastefully. The mattress was excellent (in the room that faces the garden (partial seaview) there is no bed, but only on a raised platform on which the mattress rests). The room has everything you need and everything is in pretty good condition. We asked for reading lamps and we got them. The water pressure is as bad as anywhere else on the islands in this budget.
The place is very natural so you can expect insects, gekos and more inside the room. The location is very quiet and secluded, but a few minutes away by scooter there are beaches, restaurants and everything. A 'big c' supermarket is within 5 min walking distance.
The restaurant- tasty food, not the usual 'copy-paste' menu that you see in every other restaurant on the island. More limited chioces, but everything we tasted was very good. Prices are average (i.e. cheap). Currently the restaurant is running only 10:00-20:00 which is a little annoying if you want an earlier breakfast or a 'late' dinner, but totally understandable considering the size of the 'resort':)
Bottom line, we really liked the stay, certainly considering the friendly price. Highly recommend.
