Saffrron Restaurant

I went with my friends for dinner. Food was awesome and tastes good. We loved it especially cheese paneer Kulcha one of the best entree there. Also their gulab jamun was highlight. Waiter was too good in recommending the dishes. Had a nice dinner

Beautiful Indian food, well presented and fairly priced. Service was attentive and pleasant. The waiter was great in dealing with my food allergies and had clearly noted this from my online booking. Only complaint is that I ate too much!

It's been a while since we've eaten here (normally get take out), but tonight was a bit of a special occasion so we went in for dinner, and it were delighted with the amazing flavours and great service we received. Definitely one of the top restaurants in Darwin for Indian/Sri Lankan cuisine.

We've been getting food from Saffron (both main restaurant and express as takeaway) for around 8 years. The prices have gone up markedly in the past few years, and the balance has tipped now that in my view the (admittedly very good) food is no longer worth the exorbitant cost. I appreciate that all restaurants have put prices up as costs rise, but Saffrron seems to have done so significantly more than most others. I now can't justify the massive cost of food from here, so eat elsewhere. Fortunately there is no shortage of similar good restaurants in Darwin which are more reasonably priced. If the Saffrron prices become more reasonable in the future (very unlikely I suspect) I will return, but for now I've moved on and won't be returning.

I tried their butter chicken and butter nan and its really delicious. Nan comes with pure butter smell and the service was really great. While having dinner they asked twice how we’re going with the food which was nice. Amount of the food was good too, i have tried so many Indian restaurants in Darwin and at some point found out the amount of food and price was not exactly matched my expectations. Really nice and loved their lunch options as well with a very reasonable amount and price.

I was actually pleasantly surprised. I knew their food would be delicious based off other reviews. The venue & service was amazing too.

I order one curry with butter chicken using Uber and the first thing I got pissed off was they didn’t even gave any cutleries or napkins. Besides, the rice was not cooked well and it was sticky. Talking about the butter chicken, I had never ate such worse one from any Indian restaurants in Darwin ever. I doubt if it was even fresh as the chicken pieces tasted stale. You guys used to be amazing, but this order totally disappointed me. Try to take care of these basic things which could have been easily avoided.

Great service and broad menu. We opted for the tasting menu which was incredibly generous (maybe a bit too much). The drinks were fun and overall there was something for everyone.

Their food is very good. But a bit sad that dining there isnt as feasible and is much better for takeway.

Fantastic food. Could have been a little more spicy for me. But i'm sure if I asked they would have brought me some more chillies.

Friendly service and amazing food. I had the tandoori chicken with garlic naan and lamb Rogan Josh. Everything was perfect

We drove past this place and decided to get take away because we were tired and hungry. What we got was some of the best Indian food I have had in a very long time. We had the beef vindaloo, lamb rogan josh, barramundi curry and butter chicken. All I can say is Wow Wow wow. I could eat here every day it was totally delicious every dish was amazing cooked to perfection with the correct amount of spices, it's hot but that's how Indian food should be.

Best indian in Australia. I love this pace- they have awesome take away containers - dosent hurt the environment anywhere near as much. Loads of vegetarian options or devine fish! The lunch specials are a cheap way to get a taste. Phone orders worked for me and when I picked up was ready on time piping hot and so friendly!

Really nice surprise. Saffron is definitively the Indian restaurant to try in Darwin. The Barramundi, with saffron rice, is just yummy. Just disappointed with the Raita.

Quite pricy and heavy on the garlic, but unique and worth a try. Great food, not always what one expects from an Indian place. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Amusing tweets. Cater to vegetarians and vegans.

Love it. Have eaten there regularly since they opened. Food and service always top notch and the takeaways are good too.

Excellent place for a meal. Great staff, menu and wine selections. Many of their meals (most) are gluten free so that is terrific. The butter chicken is the best and just love the lamb cutlets. Definitely recommended for visitors to the Top End or a regular place for casual dinning by locals.

I have only had one meal here, but it was fantastic and I left fully-satisfied. Very tasty Indian food and a wealth of options. I suggest the sampler for a group.
