Safran Hotel Bursa

What a wonderful hotel! The prices in the hotels in this area are quite high, but the Safran Hotel is very reasonably priced. The owner, Safa, is an absolute gentleman. His staff, especially Shakir, are superb. We overcame the language barrier very easily with the help of Google translate. But isn't that what travelling is all about - making real connections with local people? They were so caring and considerate, and couldn't do enough for us. We left them with a heavy heart, but with new beautiful friendships. The breakfasts are wonderful, the rooms are spotless, it's a real home away from home. Very nicely situated, close to everything you need in Bursa.

Very nice place with the besst location for tourist visit to Bursa. Nice prices, our room was spacious, had good light bulbs (warmer than you can usually find in Turkey). Personnel is very sweet, they didn't talk much with us in English but answered every question. Fridge, kettle and welcoming set included. Though I had several uncomfortable issues. - Breakfast is fresh and good but very light. I usually don't eat much but even for me it was not enough to start a day. - There was mold in the bathroom. It really needs professional cleaning. - Bedside lamp was broken and didn't work either. The second one was fine.

Great location but unsanitary room with mold in the bathroom and dirty fridge, most uncomfortable cheap beds you can ever find, dangerous stairs to the top floor (no elevator) and the most rude and unprofessional personal and owner I have ever seen. PS: the reply of the owner can tell you how crazy this person is... I paid for as many days as I have stayed and he was preventing me from leaving this place, because I initially had reservation for 3 more days, but its not illegal to cancel reservation if you don't like the place, he was insulting me and attacking because I was trying to leave this place. I was going to call police. And I mentioned "stiff stairs without elevator" without suggestion that there should be one, I wanted to inform customers who have hard time to climb it (Like I do, because I have arthritis), but just read his reaction in the reply to this post. I've never seen anyone talking this way to customers within any business, especially in hotel.

My room at Safran was very clean, comfortable and lovely, with a spectacular view overlooking the city. Staff were friendly and helpful, although not all speak English. With no lift and a breakfast room on the basement level, this hotel is not appropriate for a guest with mobility issues, but was fine for me. It is a vertical hike from the Koza Han / Ulucamii area, but there are escalators associated with the municipally run handicraft building below.||||WHen my plans changed and I had to leave a day early, the management accommodated me despite booking.com's no-refund policy, which I really appreciated.

Great hotel in the heart of the Old Town of Bursa. The owners are nice,polite and helpful and even though they don't speak good English they will use phones to help and answer all your questions. We stayed 3 days ,loved the place and will definitely come back. The hotel is just 1 minute away from the Clock tower with amazing view.

This old building is beautifully maintained and right up on the little hit above the main historic centre of Bursa, a short walk from the tombs and park overlooking the city. Such friendly staff and a superb breakfast, but our room was simply terrific - spacious comfortable and atmospheric. This is a lovely place to stay whilst enjoying the charming and fascinating sights of Green Bursa.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL THREE DAY STAY AT THE SAFRAN HOTEL WHICH IS A BEAUTIFULLY PRESERVED OLD STYLE TURKISH HOUSE IN THE HISTORIC CENTRE OF BURSA. THE OWNER AND HIS FAMILY WERE WARM, HELPFUL AND DID EVERYTHING TO MAKE OUR VISIT A SUCCESS. PRICE IS GOOD. WE RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL WITHOUT HESITATION.

We came by ferry from Istanbul to Mudanya. We then got a taxi to the hotel (around 70 TL and 25 minutes).||||The hotel is well located and within walking distance of many of the historical attractions. We were in room 6. This was at the front corner of the property and was bright (there were 6 windows) and airy.||||We had two issues. First, it is near to a busy road and so it is not very quiet in particular if the windows are opened. Second, when we arrived there was a powerful chemical/detergent smell in the room. It seems that smoking is allowed in the hotel rooms (there is an ashtray in our room) and we suspect that this smell was an attempt to hide the cigarette smell. Even with the windows open for long periods over three days there was still a noticeable smell. ||||All in all we felt this was not worth 90 euros a night.
