Google
Quaint museum with a nice display of local whaling artifacts and local history. Beautiful building and very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

I love this museum it's such an easy walk from the main street less than 10 minutes. The staff is nice and they have a good selection of photographs, historical items and history with native Americans and whaling.

Out of all the whaling museums I’ve visited across the country, this was by far the worst front desk experience. The staff member greeting patrons was cold, unwelcoming, and unprofessional — a terrible first impression for any institution, let alone a museum. She was slouched over the counter, practically leaning her head forward, which came across as disinterested and disengaged. She presented poorly both in demeanor and appearance, and seemed completely unfit for a front-facing role. I will also be writing to the board directly, as this level of service is unacceptable and they deserve to know who is representing them.

It was an interesting museum to explore on a rainy day. It's not very big, but has a nice video overview of whaling. They also have a variety of local artifacts.

Loved the entire museum, especially the current exhibit on influential women of Sag Harbor. The museum is small but packed with interesting information, so allow time to read and consider.

It was a wonderful experience to learn about whaling on Long Island . I think all ages can enjoy this memorable place.

Google
Cute little museum about the history of Sag Harbor and whaling. It is small and it will take you less than an hour even if you read every graphic in the place but it has a lot of interesting history of the region.

Went to the museum on the first day it opened. It was awesome and the staff was outstanding. Just wanted us to know everything which made it great. Loved the stories about the graffiti on the whale bones. Really a gem.

Yelp
A good little museum in town. It's not very large, but it can keep you occupied for a good hour. It's a nice place to cool off in the summer after walking the town. They have artifacts and you can spend time reading about certain things, taking pictures and asking questions. The museum is small, but it's expected in a small town. I went alone, so I wouldn't go back alone, it's one of those things, you've seen it once, you don't need to go back. If one of my friends wanted to go, I definitely would go with them.

Yelp
Visited with two kids under 10 in the summertime, 2019. The museum was cute, clean, and a decent spot to cool off for a bit on a hot day. They have a rudimentary "treasure hunt" to make it tolerable for the little ones. Certainly not worth a stand-alone trip obviously, but if you're looking for things to do while (already) in Sag Harbor the whaling museum is a fine 30-40 minute stop.

Yelp
Wasn't a lot of historical options within walking distance of the marina and we wanted to give this museum a look. $8 a piece and saw a couple whale bones, a few tools and some paintings. I'd think a name change would make it more clear it's a Sag Harbor museum. And it's a small one at that, you'd think they could find more local whaling items rather than some old cloths, a typewriter and kids toys.
