Not exactly in the middle of "old Christiania" and downtown hustle and bustle. But fairly close to most things you want to see and do as a tourist and/or occasional visitor.|Saga resides in Uranienborg, near the Uranienborg church, a bit up-hill from down town and in a primarily residential area.|The Royal Castle Park is about a 5 minute walk away. And down town center another 5-10 minutes by foot.|If you not fancy walking the tram and bus network is extensive in Oslo. No problem getting around.||Usually I'm not so fond of "boutique" hotels, but Saga is in no way overdriven with peculiar decorations, weird interior or strange mishaps supposed to be "cool".|It's elegant. It's quiet. It's relaxing.|The official three star classification (if I got i right), is in my opinion clearly four stars.||Slick public areas with reception/lounge made for gathering or casual meetings. |Rooms very fine. We had an airy corner room where there was plenty of light.|Bathroom of high standard. Mini bar (expensive of course - this is Norway) and fully satisfactory amenities.||Not many hotel beds you can remember sleeping exceptionally well in - can you?|Well, Saga's beds will remain in my memory. Extremely comfortable! Lovely pillows.|Best sleep in a hotel I've had for years. Truly.|And it is sooo quiet!||Breakfast is downstairs in the basement. A bit gloomy environment, but that is well compensated for by the very good breakfast presented. Small scale and well maintained. A lot of choices. None will leave hungry.||Staff kind and attentive.|By Norwegian monetary standards, Saga is affordable.|Highly recommended!

A wonderful hotel in a great location. It’s immaculately clean and all of the staff are wonderfully welcoming. We enjoyed an absolutely faultless 3 night stay. The breakfast was delicious and our room was comfortable.|Will definitely be back!

The hotel is nice and everything was pretty. My only issue was that the WiFi was weak which made it very difficult to check work emails on my phone etc. However, if you’re there only for leisure, the hotel is great. It’s easy to order a taxi from there back to the airport as well. The hotel is walking distance from a nice park and shops and food.

Possible the best hotel I've ever stayed in. It was quiet, clean, friendly and had the best breakfast buffet I've ever encountered. It was easy and quick to hop on a tram to the city centre. It couldn't have been better for me as a solo traveller.

This is a great hotel, and VERY much so for the value. It's in a quite area, but close to so much. It's an easy walk to just about anything. The rooms are comfortable and very well kept. The best thing is the breakfast. Really good food and choices. We'll definitely keep this place in mind if we return to Oslo...which I hope we do.

I picked this hotel because it was the closest to where I had a meeting, but I lucked out - this place was just right: Comfortable, and with a lovely breakfast with a variety of offerings. (I saw a child carrying a plate of just meatballs and chocolate cereal - live your best life, little one!) Lovely staff, too.

Beautiful hotel with high quality furnishing and amenities. Bed was excellent. Absolutely excellent breakfast with a wide selection of delicious food - many fresh made items. Helpful staff. A short walk to shopping and restaurants. A gem.

Beautiful place. From here you have the opportunity to visit a lot in the city because you are actually in the center. Nearby is the frogner park and the royal palace. The rooms are clean and tidy and the staff is very pleasant. Recommendations

Yelp
SAGA HOTEL OSLO is a Best Western Hotel, as I found out after the charge showed up in my credit card. We chose this hotel because they also have "apartments", which is found in a separate building, and a couple of blocks uphill, than the hotel. Items that were included that I very much appreciated: - WiFi - Luggage Storage - 12 Noon check out (not 11 AM) - Body wash, shampoo, hand soap - fully equipped kitchen and dining - Nespresso machine and pods Not Included: - Breakfast Saga Hotel is in a quiet area near and to the west of the national theater-- near enough to the Metro/light rail/train station to walk, but feels really far when you have luggage. It's doable but feels really far when you're carting a heavy luggage.

Yelp
This hotel is very quaint, quiet and clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again when we visit Oslo. It's very close to the Sculpture Park( Vigeland) let's than 0.5 miles. Close to the train station and cute stores. The breakfast was delicious and great quality food! A great find!

Yelp
Picked the hotel for its location only to find out the room we actually booked was around the block which a bit annoying. Not sure if we missed those details on the website....this is the only reason i am giving this place a three. The building we stayed in did not have a receptionist so any questions or inquiries we had we would have to walk to the lobby desk. We originally booked the room for three people and have stayed in air b n bs and another well known hotel so we weren't expecting much for space so we were pleasantly surprised to find a kitchenette (dishwasher, oven, coffee machine etc), a fold out sofa bed, dining table for two and a double bed. Comfortable room arrangement. Shower drain was a bit clogged (pet peeve). Could not call a receptionist to ask them to unclog it. I've found that the showers in the rooms we've stayed at usually don't have shower curtains or a good system to keep the water in the shower area. Would stay here again because it is overall a central location to the city.

Yelp
We had a great experience at the Saga Hotel. We stayed 4 nights during our honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it! While it may be a bit off the beaten path, we appreciated being on the edge of the city center. Light rail trains and buses give you quick access to all parts of town is its raining, and the walks are pleasant to the harbor or the sculpture garden! There are great restaurants around the hotel, but the complimentary breakfast is extraordinary (if you really fill up it csn count for lunch, too!) and the dinners in the hotel are quite nice too! We had a selection of sushi (chef's choice) that was incredibly fresh and a decadent mango ice cream dessert. Dinner was reasonably priced. We loved the afternoon. Snacks in the lobby and the espresso machine available 24 hours/day. There's no gym in the hotel, but it seems that there is a partnership with a gym down the street if you need a workout or a sauna. Love the design of the hotel and the free WiFi. Rooms and bathrooms are typically small, which was a challenge with all of our ski equipment. I think we would have opted for a larger room in hindsight. Most challenging part was the very small shower. The staff was extremely helpful and even made a special delivery of a gift from a family member to our room upon our arrival. Great experience at Saga.

Yelp
Great location very central to everywhere while on a quiet street in a nice neighborhood. My room was very comfortable and clean. Large bathroom with a lovely shower. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is excellent and included. Free Wifi a plus. A great gem of a restaurant for dinner. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The second-worst hotel experience of my life. The first was being sent to stay in a room that was actively being painted with noxious fumes. We arrived in the middle of the night, got to our "grand master suite," and drifted off only to be awoken at 7:45 am by the ear-splitting sound of power tools. It sounded like someone was running with a chainsaw through the halls. It continued, so we could not get sleep. The best the staff could tell us is that they weren't supposed to start construction until 9 -- even then, no one told us anything about construction and if we wanted to sleep until noon, we paid for the right to! They are moving us for our second night, and I am afraid to trust that the situation will be better, but we won't be paying if it's another night of ear-splitting terror. Update: You should know if staying here that they claim "quiet hours" end at 7am and will not apologize for jackhammers in your ears after that time. Also the apartments are several blocks away from the hotel, so you have to lug your luggage back and forth to deal with reception. We were moved to a much worse room for the same price, with extremely low ceilings (dangerous for me as a short woman), without many of the amenities we paid for. The staff were argumentative.

Yelp
I've been here under an hour and regret choosing this as my second hotel in Oslo. The lady checking in after me was bumped to another hotel because they'd overbooked without being told beforehand. They require a deposit. "free wifi" requires logging in through a broken system or Facebook. Reception took an incredibly long time to answer the phone (and I had to look up the number to call as it wasn't obvious on the room phone), and were shockingly rude. Gym, I'm told, is actually down the street and requires getting a new wristband from reception every time.
