We loved everything about this place. Definitely older and very quiet. Needs a little TLC but an amazing property and we loved our room. Our little dog was so happy. Each staff members were amazing. Destiny is a great attendant to this property. All of the staff were amazing and accommodating. The food was great and the kitchen staff from morning to evening were very attentive. Nice to capp of last evening with a soak in the Jacuzzi on a drizzley night. Thank you from us (Anthony, Aaron and Gypsy). All the guests were very friendly too. We will be back in the near future.

The room was in very poor condition, we didn’t need extremely fancy however having to kill three spiders in our shower/bathroom, the door to get into the room not opening and closing very well, the outlets being a fire hazard, and the bed side lights not working, made this not worth the money we paid to stay there. Also the bathroom floor was not clean, various stains, the water for the shower is either extremely hot or cold there’s no real in between. I think this place has a lot of potential just needs to be cleaned, sprayed for bugs and updated. However our bed was very comfortable! I don’t think we’d stay there again.

This place was probably really nice 20 or 30 years ago. Everything was dilapidated and stuck in time. The TV was small, the bed was uncomfortable, and the room had terrible lightning. As for the rest of the hotel, I can say the breakfast was "complimentary with an additional charge" and not particularly good. The pool was dirty and had no amenities. No towels, no shade, no water. I won't be back. Don't be fooled by the pictures like we were.

I booked this motel on Booking.com. When I checked in, the room did not match the pictures on the website. The king rooms around the courtyard are tiny, and claustrophobic. I spoke to the staff and they were able to move us to a larger room. Both rooms were very dated, there was tile missing in the bathrooms, and they were not very clean. There was soap left in the shower from the previous guest. I would not recommend staying here.

Google
The general manager is the sweetest soul in the world! I had a little problem with my allergic reaction. Not sure what they were so kind about it. they transferred us to a suite and gave us a discount. Letting us stay longer than we intended. Pool is amazing and outside.

Google
Full disclosure -- I had a very lovely 1 night stay here with my mother. The hotel is very clean, the staff is obliging and helpful, and even on the first floor, we had a quiet and peaceful night's sleep. With that said, I'm not sure where the photos for the listing were taken, but they certainly were not of the room we stayed in -- it appears they have a few other wings, suites, and meeting spaces as well. Our hotel room was a 2x queen bed suite, and surely had its heyday in the early 90s. The terracotta lamps, tile counters, and distressed wood window feature took us on a nostalgia trip. Although very dated, I miss the older layouts -- there was practically a walk-in closet in the sink / vanity alcove which made getting ready in the morning hassle-free. The only areas for which I'm taking off points are the "expectations vs. reality," so to speak -- what you see online is not exactly what we got.

Google
Such a waste of a potentially great property. When we booked it we knew it wouldn't be the most modern hotel as we were looking for some South Western charm but were very disappointed. From the outside the Adobe building looks great but the rest of the hotel needs a lot of work. We had a courtyard view king room. It was small but didn't expect anything different in a traditional hotel. The room was filthy, the carpet worn and sticky, all the fixtures are hanging off the wall, the shower has terrible pressure, doesn't drain and flooded the rest of the bathroom floor. Every edge is broken and rough. Basically not rustic enough to be cute, just dirty and run down. This could be such a great hotel with good management and some TLC. I don't usually write reviews but after paying $165 per night, I wanted to warn others.

I knew when we pulled in the drive that it wasn't going to be a good experience. I am okay with old and vintage but I'm NOT okay with filth and dirt. Our friends got to their room, only to be greeted by a bat!!!!! We were told the place was sold out. However, our friends got a new room. The bat was never found. We were scared what our room would be like. We should have been. This place is a total dump. Nothing but filth everywhere you look. Toilets overflowing, could not get maintenance. There was not another hotel in town to stay. I was ready to sleep in the car because I was so disgusted. After being talked off the ledge, we decided to stay (with complete unhappiness). I am attaching the photos so that nobody else makes this mistake. Please reconsider if you plan on staying here. Find a bridge and a sleeping bag and save your money. If this place would invest a good ten to $15,000,000.00 (that is being conservative), it would be a gold mine. The property is pretty, but that is all I can say.

Yelp
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Old, not charming. Looks dirty because the furnishings are ancient. The carpet is filthy. The toilet makes a terrible noise! Sheets and towels are clean. Who would sleep on this pullout couch? The fridge did not open, cabinets old and terrible. We were conned. The photos are from another time or place.

Yelp
Came here because of a wedding I was attending. The grounds are large and there is a restaurant to eat at. There is a newer section and the, HISTORIC, side. Sorry but if you want any a good room don't stay in the historic side. Not well maintained on this side. But for the price I think that is what you get. Rooms are very small. Floors are uneven. Restroom had broken toilet and sink had broken drawers. Maybe on the newer side it is better, I don't know. Staff is as friendly and even though I arrived early the accommodated me. The grounds are well kept so that is good. They say there is a pool and hot tube, but they are on the other side of the grounds in the newer section. The dining area looks large, lots of tables. I'll have to check it out later on. I have to say the room is clean. Oh and they do have free WiFi and a large building in the back as a convention center. No king bed! WTF!
google avatar

Bo R.

Yelp
This hotel isn't a good value for the price. An old hotel can be a nice hotel if it's taken care of. Sagebrush isn't taken care of. Stains on the walls. Holes in the walls. The toilet ran loudly all night. Dingy cheap decor and furnishings. I wouldn't stay again.

Yelp
I specifically booked the artist loft and they gave it away with no explanation. When I asked the front desk lady, she shrugged her shoulders
google avatar

Jake T.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night and it felt like I flew back into the 80s. The overall decor in my room was very old and needs updating. The room however was clean and the bed was comfortable. So overall it did the trick.

Yelp
Great place to stay while in Taos. Room was spacious and clean. Food was great and we lived that they had music every night!

Elaine L.

Yelp
We were charged over $385 for one room, one night. The receptionist was rude and never smiled. Our room was dirty and dusty, the carpet had blood stains and looked like it had not been vacuumed for a long time. One long light was flickering to go out. The toilet was dirty. They moved us to another room in the same condition. A Motel 6 would have been better. We traveled to Chama and stayed in Vista del Rio; our room was clean and pleasant. The receptionist was cheerful and welcoming. $129 a night. Imagine. Vista del Rio five stars.

Denise I.

Yelp
Very comfortable place with authentic Taos cuisine and vibe. Historic Inn with lots of history

Christy G.

Yelp
There many too many things wrong to list. Here are a few. All drains in room 507 don't work. Both toilets didn't work properly. Back sliding door couldn't be locked and anyone could walk in. We begged for room service for four days and it never came. One young lady after she finished her day helped us because she felt bad. The desk manager tried to make me feel it was my fault. Repeated trips to front desk went unanswered. Beware of this place.
google avatar

Nicole P.

Yelp
Okay option if you're on a budget. Otherwise, just book somewhere nicer. We arrived and our room wasn't ready for check in but probably the most annoying part was that the room keys would stop working if you had them near your phone. This resulted in constantly being locked out of our room in the freezing cold. Rooms were just okay. Didn't really look like the online photos. Wish I would have paid more and stayed somewhere nicer.

Chris H.

Yelp
This has been the worst Hotel stay of my life, and I'm 63 years old. I have begged for room service for four days and I'm lead to believe it's my fault by the front desk manager. Service, of Anykind, is not in the vocabulary here. Drains not working, toilets not working, door doesn't lock, room is very old and very tired. Stay here, at tour own risk. This place is worn out, dirty, not functional, and unsafe. Beware if you plan to stay here.

Yelp
This place seems to get a lot of bad reviews but I disagree! We loved it here, our room was so large! We had space to spread out. I liked the decor, it fit the area. This place has so much history it would be a darn shame for them to change. Go to the bar, you won't regret it! We had a fantastic stay and would easily stay there again!

Yelp
Hi there! I stayed at the Sagebrush Inn this weekend for our Spring break ski trip. All was well at the beginning during check in (the front desk lady was very kind and showed us all the property has to offer) but soon took a turn when we arrived at our room that says sleeps 6 but really sleeps 4. To our surprise the room has one "queen" bed and one "queen" murphy. Let's be honest these "queens" are fulls. When I called the office and they said that it should sleep 3 people per queen. I love a good cuddle but i've never met a group of adults that like to sleep 3 in one queen after a rigorous day on the slopes. Luckily they were able to provide us with a cot so we all slept fairly well. We did find a bottle cap in our sheets so that does lead me to wonder if they were even changed after the last guest. The second main issue I had with this Inn was that they don't provide daily housekeeping. Although, you may request housekeeping once per day if desired. I called two mornings in a row to request housekeeping as we were out of toilet paper and towels and needed the trash changed. Neither days did they come. I also called again one afternoon after returning from the mountain and let them know nobody had been by and that we were completely out of tp. They said they would send someone over and they never showed. Hours later I eventually went to the front myself and got some. By the end of the trip our room looked like a "landfill" with all the bags of trash we had accumulated over our 4 day stay. Last issue was the heating system. Our room felt like the Sahara at night as there was no AC unit in the main room (only the back bedroom). This was ok in the winter as we could crack the window but could be a larger problem in the summer months. The location did feel safe and there was a cantina attached that you could eat at/listen to live music at. They also had a hot tub that worked 2/4 nights we were there but was overall clean! For a cheaper price this place would be considered "good enough" but I am not pleased with the grand I dropped for such a headache.

Yelp
One of the worst experiences in lodging and dining ever! The rooms are old and not maintained. The handicapped room we were given we couldn't get the door to open, had to practically knock the door in to get it to open. The TV didn't work, and there was a party outside our window most of the night. The carpet was so worn out it was disgusting! Will never stay here again! The restaurant is slow and the food wasn't very good.

Joe T.

Yelp
Check in time is 4 pm. The front desk says they're "short staffed" and as of 4:10pm, I see one person after another wanting to check in, only to be told they can't check in anyone. If you like hotel or inn that can't check you in at the time they advertise, this place will be perfect for you! I dread seeing the room after all this! At 4:30pm, still not at room. Front desk full of lame excuses and unfriendly staff. I wonder if it's possible to issue 1/100 of a star instead of one full star, which seems extremely generous.
google avatar

Steffen M.

Yelp
Old, dirty, and in need of major renovations. Water tasted and smelled bad. Floor was stained and dirty. The 3 cloth chairs in the room were absolutely disgusting. Wood floor under carpet by door is obviously rotten and felt and sounded like it was going to buckle. Shower curtain was stained. It's $5, clean it or throw it away. On a brighter note, the front desk staff was extremely nice and efficient. On another sour note, the cleaning person took my 8 Dr Peppers that were left in a 12 pk sitting on the floor between the mini fridge and the trash. I'm sure they weren't stealing them but who doesn't realize 2/3 of a 12 pk is not trash? Weird. Not worth even the hot wire price.

Yelp
I know the hotel is under construction, but they should warn guests before assigning them rooms that have warped windows and doors, completely outdated bathrooms, and bugs. It snowed during our stay and the hotel did nothing to clean snow and ice off the outdoor stairs to the second floor rooms. As a result, the steps and walkways were slippery and a lawsuit waiting to happen.
google avatar

Stacy P.

Yelp
My husband and I were traveling and decided to stop in Tombstone on our way to visit the grandkids. We enjoyed our newly renovated room. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The bed was a bit too soft for our liking, but we would definitely stay there again.

Sharon D.

Yelp
Don't stay here, old and not maintained both interior and exterior. In our room the refrigerator, tv, and bathroom fixtures didn't work. Housekeeping is by request but they didn't respond. We elected to leave early but not without an argument to receive a receipt for time stayed. I could go on but no need, point is don't consider staying here!!
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Definitely will not stay again. I was here for 4 nights until something else in Taos opened up so I switch hotels. I had a ground level room opening to the courtyard. The room was extremely dated and "moist". I was on the ground level and when ever the person above me walked around it felt like and sounded like the ceiling was going to cave in. I had multiple spiders and spider webs throughout the room and found a dead roach on the floor. A coworker found bed bugs before getting in the bed and when it was reported to the front they didn't seam alarmed. Making me think it happens often.

Brian K.

Yelp
Where do I start? Maybe the no room service despite calling everyday to request causing the landfill of garbage that we accumulated while they ignored our requests. Maybe the bottle cap found in the bed? We would have been a lot more chill if we were well-rested but the advertisement that the room sleeps six despite only having 2 full size beds made sleeping unbearable. When we wanted to unwind and relax the knots in our backs from sleeping 3 to a bed, we found the hot tub to be broken every night.
google avatar

Mike N.

Yelp
stayed there. blankets were dirty room needs serious cleaning. was a big room not too noisy. Its ok... but was expensive for a night in that Ice Box
google avatar

Joanne F.

Yelp
I stayed here many times over the years and thought it was very quaint and well taken care of. I haven't been here in a few years and I'm sorry to say that it has gone downhill severely. The bed was uncomfortable the room stunk there was no Wi-Fi no TV no extra blankets. They also do not include the breakfast buffet any longer. So sad...
google avatar

Rebekah F.

Yelp
The motel is showing its age a bit,but it is clean and an overall solid value. I was very happy with our ADA room which was a huge concern considering how difficult Taos is to navigate for wheelchair users. The cable didn't work and the front desk person promptly sent someone to fix it,so the property appeared to be well staffed and responsive to issues. Their Sagebrush Cantina has a nice Taos vibe and nightly live entertainment. The singer was really good the night we had dinner there. The only thing that we were unhappy about is that the lock on the rear door into the building was broken so non-guests could easily enter the motel.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
What a disappointment. The employees were very rude. When we asked for more towels and toilet paper the woman wanted to come in our room and look for more towels. What???? The restaurant staff was a little friendlier and the food was ok. They did add gratuity to a table of five which I thought was odd. The room itself was gross. The floors were dirty and the shower made a horrible noise when in use. There was a dead bird and old toilet paper box by the stairs for our entire stay. The kids were bored because the pool was closed , which was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. After the kids got in trouble for making noise a security guard screamed at us that she was going to make us leave. She was so rude and unprofessional. We love Taos but will never stay here again. Do not recommend.

John W.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the fancy pictures. Our room needed vacuumed and a good general cleaning, long black hairs on the bed and the fireplace was not cleaned when we checked in our room. We found the battery cover for the remote under the sofa, yuk! They wanted to charge us for extra fire starters. If the fireplace had been cleaned there would have been sufficient air flow. The second day they delivered wood but still did not clean the fireplace. C'mon folks how lazy can you get. Lots of nice B&B's for less.
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
Not much to say. Not a great room. We stayed in 120 and each step the folks above us took was heard. From small steps to showers that sounded like a freight train to broken lamp shades and cracked floors. Called down to the front desk to see why pipes were so loud and was told security would be sent over. No one came. The room we stayed in looks nothing like pics on website. Won't be back and will be sure to tell others to stay away.

Ski G.

Yelp
I booked a Junior Suite for the weekend of October 14-16, and when we arrived, the place was filthy. There was no microwave, no tables to put things on or sit at, and live bugs inside the windows. The shower pressure was negative, there was trash in the trash can, the bathtub was dirty, and overall, it was a dismal, depressing place. I will never stay there again. Disgusting, filthy, depressing. I would rather sleep in my car in a WalMart parking lot than stay at this place.

Karen D.

Yelp
This is a woefully overpriced rundown dump. It appears that it has not been maintained in decades and is now beyond repair. I wouldn't have given it even one star had that been an option.
google avatar

Clay G.

Yelp
Highly recommend this hotel and planning to stay there next time I'm in Taos! We got a fireplace room that had a super comfy bed, good wifi reception (we barely used it but still), and felt very high end for the price. I loved the historic artful feel to the rooms without it feeling dated. The staff was more than responsive and happy to help. The cantina and restaurant onsite was a huge plus as well. We had an outstanding breakfast there and our last night ate at the cantina where the food was well very reasonably priced, delicious, and they even had live music. Keep it up!

Yelp
Don't be duped by the nice ambiance photos you'll find online...the rooms (at least the one I got) was rundown. The TV and AC both did not work. There was a strange smell lurking in the walls and I could hear my neighbors "romantically connecting" through them. Ohhh not to mention there was cigarette butts hanging out in the windowsill and I question if I'll get bed bugs after the stay.

Chaz M.

Yelp
went to Taos in august for a gallery show. The stay was horrendous . Bugs in first two rooms and then no warm water in first room. Second room the tub flooded . 3rd room still bugs but at this point we were leaving the next day so we decided to stay. The first time we stayed on the newer side of property by restaurant . The building with lobby is gross .

Robert P.

Yelp
i used to live in Taos for 30 years and never stayed there but knew the previous owners who were lovely and dear people....the stay was TERRIBLE and the staff at the front desk were unfriendly....the tv didn't work, there was NO INTERNET despite trying to work with the hotel folks and their Tech Support people....SO disappointing. i don't write reviews but wanted to alert folks to stay elsewhere in Taos which is still an amazing town filled with wonderful people and amazing scenery. the Sagebrush is in need of significant improvement in service and services. Internet is critical to folks who rely on the internet for work like me. And the folks at the desk need a much better and customer centric attitude

Shadow R.

Yelp
If you're staying here for more than a day or two, I would go somewhere else. I've been here for a week out of my two week stay and I asked for housekeeping to come and they didn't change the fitted sheet on the mattress but changed the sheets and pillows (I hope). Did get fresh towels, and somehow bugs keep getting in despite us not leaving the doors open longer than us walking through them and not opening windows. (Edit) bugs have gotten worse. It's disgusting.

Yelp
This is a beautiful historic hotel. It is a bit rough for the wear in some places, but so pretty. They have a bar and restaurant that don't open until 4 and close at 9. The food is mediocre and the bar is nice. Dog friendly patio and dog friendly rooms. I will stay here again for sure.
google avatar

Marie X.

Yelp
I had a really nice time staying at the Sagebrush Inn this weekend. Started with Happy Hour at check- in. Back to enjoy music around 9pm. Musician/guitarist played a nice variety of songs and took lots of requests. Then back to our room where we started a fire in kiva fireplace. Very lovely, but couldn't get it started well enough to stay lit. By then it was getting late so we let it go. Next morning was the free hot breakfast buffet. It was fine but I liked it better when you could order off menu! So one night with tax was $125 and that was for the Jr Suite with a fireplace. Not bad. Though not perfect, still a pleasant stay and a nice ambience! I'll definitely be back.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Beware of booking accommodations at this location. Although the property is nice, you don't get what you pay for. There are six categories of room, I booked and paid for Deluxe Room: Fireplace- King AND Queen bed, balcony, fireplace. One hundred sixty nine dollars. They put me in a King room, the lowest category, which goes for one hundred twenty two. Besides overcharging me $47 for the room and refusing a partial refund, the room had an empty pizza box and three empty beer cans. Our gift? Covid cleaned?
google avatar

Celina G.

Yelp
We had a horrible experience! The staff was rude and unfriendly. We had property that was stolen from us and when confronted the staff completely denied it. The staff and manager failed to offer a resolution, and did not offer an type of compensation for the stolen proper, nor did they offer an apology for the stolen properly or horrible experience. If you value your belongs and desire a safe place to stay do not stay here.
google avatar

Dominica R.

Yelp
Let rate this in the most honest way possible the Good, Bad & Ugly Let's start with the GOOD: The yards are very pretty. Grassy area is just beautiful. Although there were pretty light up. They were not on when we were there. The BAD: The place is pretty old and NOT charming like other reviews stated. It's grossly old. Rooms are dirty, dusty, hair in bathroom and on pillow-No charm whatsoever. We actually left late to get Lysol and Clorox wipes to clean up room. We had kids and we questioned leaving but it was already so late. The Ugly: If you have little kids the place is unsafe. (Our kids are bigger so we didn't worry) however the pools and hot tubs are unlocked. Doors are open broken locks. It just takes a second and knowing kids they wonder. This was very unprofessional for a hotel to operate with these issues. Life floats were hanging on rod iron fence. A small person couldn't reach that if needed. The balconies were nice. However very unkept. Nails are sticking out and post are unstable. Stairs going up to rooms are very bad. Roofing material was used to makeshift walk way. Breakfast: was a nice touch. However staff is rude and food was just ok. I wouldn't recommend staying here just because of breakfast. We didn't sleep much that night and we would NOT recommend this hotel and would not come back.
google avatar

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant at the Sagebrush Inn. (We did not stay at the hotel.) It was our anniversary, and we wanted a nice dinner. Many of the recommended restaurants were in the historic section, but parking is difficult there, and we didn't want the hassle nor the walk since it was raining hard. Online, the Sagebrush Inn seemed nice, and we tried it out. I loved my lettuce salad with cranberries, blue cheese crumbles, and New Mexican pecans. For my entrée, I had prime rib which was cooked to perfection. My wife had a steak, as I recall. Adding a glass of wine for a toast, we couldn't have been more pleased. Dinner was wonderful & memorable. (I was surprised that this restaurant does not show up in a Yelp search of Taos restaurants.)
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
This is truly a dump. The rooms are dirty and look nothing like the pictures. A layer of dust on the bed board and piles of dirt on the floor. No hot water in the sink. No breakfast despite being advertised. No bar open after 7. In a tourist town. The room we were given clearly is rarely used, every electrical device was unplugged- the phone, the clock, and the microwave, which was missing the tray, rendering it inoperable. I should have guessed something was up when I called early in the day- no one answered twice and then the phone said it was disconnected. On the plus side the bed was comfy and when I finally got a hold of the front desk after crawling under the bed on the filthy floor to plug the phone in, the woman was nice and quickly agreed to come our room. But when Priceline called back, no answer. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
This place is awesome historically but very very neglected & somewhat un safe. Two different areas of rooms & check in office is in another building from where u stay. Parking lots with bad pavement & restaurant is pricey & extremely limited menu. Rooms are pricey & not comparable to the condition of rooms. Water pressure is bad & there is no noise insulation ... u can really hear between rooms. Ice buckets not insulated & bags don't fit bucket. Small details not paid attention to. Very few plugs & most u have to hunt for them. Very dark rooms too. We were here a few years ago & this place is still under renovations. Lack of communication or none at all from staff such as location of amenities on property. Unfortunately this will be our last stay here!

Lem B.

Yelp
Went to the front desk because my room key didn't work. Weird desk guy stared at me. I stared back. Usually people that aren't complete idiots that work in service positions lead with, Can I help you? He didn't. I just don't understand such ignorant, rude people.
google avatar

Tony M.

Yelp
The hotel is a little dated but more than makes up with great prices, great food in the restaurant and more importantly the staff was wonderful. I will be returning back to ski Taos and staying again. I felt welcomed and special. Thanks Sagebrush- keep up the great customer service.
google avatar

Rachella O.

Yelp
This room was awesome! Only reason giving it 4 out of 5 is due to the fact that I booked a queen size bed room but got the full size bed. This is ok, I do love being cozy. The most memorable thing will be their Kiowa fireplace. Such a rare gem to find included in your hotel features. Loved the curving arch with tile sitting pretty. The courtyard hosting a grove of trees felt magical at night all lit up! We asked for more pillows they were happy to drop some off. We will come back with our dog next time!
google avatar

Ellen R.

Yelp
I love the Sagebrush! The rooms are clean and very cozy. Lots of character. All of the rooms in the original Inn portion have access to a shady, large grassy area (courtyard). There are several quiet outdoor spaces. Very dog friendly. The only thing I would suggest is talking to the staff if you have trouble with stairs. We had to move to the first floor because I was unable to do the stairs in the Old Inn. The staff was very kind, helped us move downstairs, and all was well. There are great mountain and high desert views from the entire property. We stayed 4 nights, and I would go back in a heartbeat.

Linda C.

Yelp
Oh my, this place looks nothing like the photos! It is quite run down and the carpet looks like it needs a cleaning, lots of dust in corners and spaces between furniture. We had reserved a room with 2 queens and were told we had been upgraded but the room had one queen and a murphy bed. I have to say, the room was big with huge beams so quaint but not worth the price and cancellation policy. It is past its prime.

Bill C.

Yelp
I am currently staying at the Sagebrush Inn, Taos, NM. The suite is nicely appointed and has two full baths. The heating system is ancient, no thermostat, and smells when the heat is on. The key cards are difficult to use I tried to called a breakfast order in so I could then pick it up BUT the restaurant does not have a phone per the front desk The staff has been a range of surly to neutral My conclusion is stay across the street at the Hampton Inn (stayed there last time in Taos)

Lisa R.

Yelp
I came to Taos to help the hospital. I stayed at the Sagebrush about three weeks. The front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. The room was nice and warm. Even on frigid cold nights. The hot water was always hot. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room, which was about twice the size of a normal hotel room, this included a nice kitchen table and bar area, which was helpful in my long stay. It has a unique bathroom set up where the shower, tub and toilet are in one room while the sink and mirror are located in another area. This was extremely helpful so one person could shower while another got ready without getting too hot or steamed out. We did use the hot tub once, which was in their words "a soaker tub" as the Jets did not function. They have a nice restaurant with excellent food, the best in town and live music every night. The restaurant is cozy with a fireplace and a full bar. The staff work really hard to take care of large crowds, which seem to appear nightly, no surprise. We had the Kearny Asada tacos, they're famous chicken dish and amazing tortilla soup. All was excellent. I did try the fitness center once, but only the treadmill worked somewhat, the TV didn't work, and it appeared. It hadn't been clean in quite some time so I wouldn't recommend that. Overall the hotel is remodeled in some respect, but needs a lot of work and others, it seems like they are still coming out of Covid financially. A couple million dollars would make this a true five star hotel. I would've gave it 4.5 but that's not an option. .
