I had an absolutely awful experience at Sahil Hostel, and I strongly urge travelers to avoid staying here. From the moment I arrived, the service was shockingly unprofessional, with zero hospitality or warmth. The receptionist, #Khanlaga, was not only rude but also completely incompetent, displaying a blatant disregard for basic customer service.||||One incident that perfectly illustrates the hostel’s mismanagement was when I requested an iron. The first one they gave me was faulty, damaging both my shirt and the sofa. When I asked for a replacement, they provided a working one, but instead of taking responsibility for their poor-quality equipment, they outrageously blamed me for the damage and slapped me with an absurd 100 AZN penalty.||||This was just one of many unfair and exploitative charges. The hostel imposes ridiculous fines—100 AZN just for sitting on the reception sofa after midnight or accidentally switching off a light. These absurd penalties feel more like a scam to extort money from guests rather than genuine rules to maintain order. Worse, the enforcement of these policies comes with aggressive and hostile behavior from the staff, making the entire experience even more unpleasant.||||It’s painfully obvious that the management has no clue how to run a hostel properly. The staff they hire are unprofessional, rude, and outright hostile, ruining what should be a welcoming environment.||||My stay at Sahil Hostel was hands down one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. The combination of appalling customer service, exploitative policies, and a toxic atmosphere makes it clear that this place values squeezing money out of guests far more than providing a decent stay. I strongly advise avoiding this hostel at all costs.
