Location is great and also the facilities are pretty good I would say. Staff has been very friendly and helpful when I had some issues. However the vast majority of other guest have been on a long term stay. This created a very strange vibe of home living but not really... I was a solo traveller who was more looking for backpacker vibes. If you are looking for backpacker vibes and other travelers this might not be the ideal place.

In terms of the hostel this by far the best I’ve stayed at for the price and quality. The reception is amazing and even takes the time to point to your room. There nice views from all corners of building. The beds themselves are super private and clean. Extremely good location and great experience

They have 2 Private rooms and the rest are all hostel bunker bed rooms. They wont give you water or tea bags complementary either. The rooms are clean but the spring mattresses are so bad and its very hard to sleep. Maybe a good option for a hostel but its a BIG NO for a private hotel room. You can find better options in similar price

I had an absolutely awful experience at Sahil Hostel, and I strongly urge travelers to avoid staying here. From the moment I arrived, the service was shockingly unprofessional, with zero hospitality or warmth. The receptionist, #Khanlaga, was not only rude but also completely incompetent, displaying a blatant disregard for basic customer service.||||One incident that perfectly illustrates the hostel’s mismanagement was when I requested an iron. The first one they gave me was faulty, damaging both my shirt and the sofa. When I asked for a replacement, they provided a working one, but instead of taking responsibility for their poor-quality equipment, they outrageously blamed me for the damage and slapped me with an absurd 100 AZN penalty.||||This was just one of many unfair and exploitative charges. The hostel imposes ridiculous fines—100 AZN just for sitting on the reception sofa after midnight or accidentally switching off a light. These absurd penalties feel more like a scam to extort money from guests rather than genuine rules to maintain order. Worse, the enforcement of these policies comes with aggressive and hostile behavior from the staff, making the entire experience even more unpleasant.||||It’s painfully obvious that the management has no clue how to run a hostel properly. The staff they hire are unprofessional, rude, and outright hostile, ruining what should be a welcoming environment.||||My stay at Sahil Hostel was hands down one of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. The combination of appalling customer service, exploitative policies, and a toxic atmosphere makes it clear that this place values squeezing money out of guests far more than providing a decent stay. I strongly advise avoiding this hostel at all costs.

Wonderful experience with lovely staff especially Ms Sabina. She is such a nice and cooperative girl. The location is of hotel is lovely, rooms are good and clean, everyday room cleaning services are available, kids friendly with few games, books and a tiny gym.

The location is the sole advantage. Regrettably, under the guise of PRIVATE ROOM services, several amenities were lacking, including no television, no electric kettle, no bathroom slippers, no complimentary tea or coffee, no refrigerator, no drinking water bottle, and the lift was non-operational during the rain. The hotel is situated on the third floor. Nevertheless, the remainder is satisfactory.

It was quite a wild experience. After checking in, I discovered that the bed I’d been assigned was already occupied. The reception staff had to search through several rooms before finally assigning me another one — which, unfortunately, was dirty and had a strange smell. I couldn’t imagine staying there. I’m not usually a hostel person and haven’t stayed in one for a few years, but I’m fairly certain this isn’t the standard. There also seemed to be an odd policy around segregation, which added to the discomfort. I let them know I wouldn’t be staying, and thankfully, they provided a full refund.

It’s my second time in Baku and second stay at the Sahil hostel. Staff: Hostel staff is very customer oriented, friendly and helpful. They do mandatory online registration at the immigration office website. Location: Sahil hostel is located very centrally. Baku’s main sightseeing places like Old Town Icherisheher, Maiden Tower, Flame Towers and City panorama view point are within 10-20 minutes of walking distance from the hostel. Caspian seashore, grocery store, pharmacy, ATM, metro/subway, bus stop and parks are within 2-3 minutes of walking distance from the hostel. My room and bed: Room with balcony was nice. Clean bed with privacy curtain, tiny shelf, lamp and socket to charge phone and laptop has been provided. There is a centralized air conditioner in the room, if I understood correctly. Lockers under beds were not locked as keys were lost, but hostel staff was very generous to replace lock so I could safely keep my documents and money in the locker. Thank you for that. There are several separate bathrooms with showers, toilet and hair dryers. Towel is provided for separate payment. Small gym/fitness space near the toilet is used by some travelers. Lounge area for chatting or playing with other travelers is near reception. Kitchen: There is a shared kitchen with basic amenities to store and warm food. Hostel provides laundry service. Cleaning is made every day. Hostel has a very good speed Wi-Fi. It works very well everywhere in the hostel. Overall, Sahil hostel is a safe and comfortable place to stay, so I extended my stay.
