SAHIL Hostel & Hotel

The building is so old, it seems like one of the historical places of Baku! but, inside the hostel is nice and attractive. Excellent Location: The hostel was situated in a nice and upscale neighborhood of the city. It was very close to the subway station and the sea. Additionally, there were many beautiful buildings in the area, and the streets were clean and attractive. Cleanliness: The sheets were clean and freshly laundered. The staff who is responsible for cleaning works throughout the day. However, some of the sinks and occasionally the shared restrooms were not completely clean, which was understandable given the high number of guests in the hostel and somewhat unavoidable. I also tried two of the showers, but both had clogged drains, causing the water to drain very slowly, making it difficult to shower comfortably. Each guest was assigned a bed with privacy curtains and a locker underneath, which were both very clean and comfortable. I was satisfied with this arrangement. I also arrived before the check-in time, and they took care of my belongings until my bed was ready. Finally, the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Might be the worst hostel I've stayed in. - Bed bug infestation. I only slept in the bed for 3 hours before the bites woke me and made it impossible to stay longer. Covered in bites and feeling like I want to scratch my skin raw. Other reviews been talking about this for months so clearly staff don't care. I've attached a photo to show the results of my stay here. - Beds are horribly uncomfortable even without being bitten. Cheap spring mattresses. - Other guests were awful. Guests were loud knocking on doors, shouting, unpacking and turning on and off room lights until nearly 4am. Staff didn't care All around terrible hostel. It'd be nicer to sleep in the streets spend your time and money elsewhere.

Bed bugs Alert Pros: 1) Location of the hostel is very good. 2) Free laundry. 3) Good people. 4) Grocery nearby Cons: 1. The dorm was decent but the lock was not working. Raised this issue with them multiple times still they just did the temporary fix and I was stuck inside the dorm for an hour. 2. There were ample flies in the kitchen. Also, the stove was not working. 3. Bathrooms were very smelly and dirty. 4. There were bed bugs in the dormitory. I couldn't sleep properly. 5. No drinking water 6. You need to pay for towels.

▪️Best location and recom for single traveller. ▪️However, kitchen smell in the property was worst, bed bugs problem needs attention and urine smell in some of the washrooms needs to be treated. (6 x beds dormitory) ▪️Staff is friendly but to any problem they have a simple reply, it not our problem or I can’t do anything. ▪️So it’s your choice , best location with average property, decide yourself. ▪️ Last but not the least, Check Out timings is too early i.e 1100 hrs, it’s should be 1400 hrs.

We (2 adults+1 kid) stayed for 5 nights. Sahil Hostel & Hotel is one of the best place to stay in Baku considering its location. Most tourist spots are all within walking distance. The Nizami street, boulevard, little Venice, Carpet Museum, Baku Eye, Baku old city, Funnicular train, highland park, Deniz Mall. Being at the centre of Baku tourist zone, easy pick up and drop available from tour operators. Kapitol Bank, Sahil Metro Station, Supermarket all are in the same building, just take the lift down and you reach. Apart from this, the rooms are very nice tidy and well maintained. We had booked a double room with Balcony that I overlooks the flame towers. It is such a beautiful sight that I wouldn't even mind paying extra The rooms are air conditioned, provided with heater and with basic amenities. The bathroom is small but with a shower cabin. Yes.. toilets have jet spray. There is no coffee machine inside the room. However being a hostel, it has a dedicated kitchen with all utensils and some basic groceries too. There is also a washing machine room with hot air drying options. The hostel is on the 4th floor. However there is a lift (though a bit scary and old). The reception staff are welcoming and eager to help. A few points to note: It was difficult to communicate with the hotel via email. They are very slow to respond. We requested for a airport pickup as we were arriving at 11:30 pm at night. The hotel, though did confirm before, didn't send the cab. There is no free drinking water available. 500 ml water costs 1 manat (rs 100). Had to spend a lot on drinking water. WiFi speed is rather slow. Very few (only 3) power sockets (type F) inside the room .

in years of travel I have never had such a terrible experience at a hostel. First of all I was bitten by bedbugs, which shouldn't be tolerable in the slightest. Right now I really have a lot of itching and several spots on my body, I continue by saying that although I hadn't checked out on the night of January 23rd at 3:00 am, my bed was occupied by another person. Among other things, there is was a issue with the payment, which also had problems.

The stay was fine, with clean rooms and decent washrooms. The kitchen lacked a kettle, but staff provided hot water. However, the students staying there were often trying to scam guests—one sold me an adapter for 15 AZN, which I found later for 1.40 AZN, and another pushed a 75 AZN tour that was 39 AZN on the street. The vibe was dull, with everyone on their phones and no fun activities. Wouldn’t recommend it for social or honest experiences.
