Our stay at SAii Phi Phi Island Village from February 11–14 had both positive aspects and some areas that did not meet our expectations for the price point.
On the positive side, the resort is very secluded and located in a beautiful setting. The beach and sunrise views were excellent, and the overall location felt peaceful and private. The staff throughout the property were friendly and helpful, and the golf cart service made it easy to get around the large resort. The hotel also did a great job organizing transfers to and from Phuket, and the activities center offered a variety of excursions, which was a nice touch. They also provide special romantic events and private dinners, which is a nice option for couples.
However, there were a few drawbacks. There was no ATM on the property, so guests need to go into the village to withdraw and exchange cash, which felt inconvenient for a resort advertised as five-star. The breakfast was just average, and the food overall was decent but not what we expected at this price level. The rooms, while comfortable, felt a bit small and could use some updating to truly match a five-star standard. At around $600 per night, we expected a higher level of luxury and refinement.
I booked this hotel based on Google reviews, online photos, and the marketing, but my honest opinion is that it is closer to a true 3.5- to 4-star hotel and it did not fully meet the expectations I had from what I saw online, especially considering the price.
