Sail Inn

So me and 2 other girlfriends have dinner and drinks in downtown NPR. We decided to venture out and try a new bar. I had driven past Sail Inn several times and each time I would I’d say to myself this looks like my kinda bar! So tonight was the night we stop in. The young lady behind the bar comes up to us with a big smile and say “welcome! My name is Kristine, what’s yours? Ya’ll I don’t know about you, but when was the last time you had a bartender say that to you?! Long story short we only had one beer, but we will definitely be back!!!!

Let’s start with the good: Allie was an incredible bartender. The place was slammed, and she still managed to take care of everyone quickly and professionally. Total rockstar. Now the bad: Someone named Jess came behind the bar and told us she doesn’t even work there when we asked for a drink — but then proceeded to act like she ran the place. She was rude to one of our friends, saying “That’s enough times to know it’s cash only,” even though he’s only been there once. Later, while we were cashing out with Allie, Jess was literally snapping her fingers at us trying to grab the money while we were still counting. She came in loud, obnoxious, and yelling that she’s the owner’s daughter and a “VIP.” She was rude to multiple people the entire time we were there. I don’t care if she works there or not — if you’re behind the bar, you’re representing the bar. Acting like that is exactly how you drive customers away.

You know... it wasn't bad. I was prepared for a real dive but it was surprisingly good. A lady i know says she got jumped here a few months ago. Decent size bar. 2 pool tables. I took 1 star off because it's cash only, who carries cash in 2023? Even PTAs have square.

Place was already a hole in the wall. I like that in a bar. All was good until another person decided to throw things at me. I simply asked what was being thrown and why. I was told to sit back down and mind my business. I tried ignoring until the man stated if I look at him again I'd regret it. Dude was definitely a local I was told I should leave so I did. Not a friendly or nice place at all. I will not be back. Go next door not full liquor but great friendly people.

I will give it five stars but you have to know this is a smoking facility. Everyone except for us was smoking. It is also cash only but they do offer an atm. They have no "craft" beers, not one so either white claw, the usual bud light suspects or liquor drinks. The bartender was friendly and welcoming and helpful. She got to know us just a little bit which was a nice touch. Everyone there seemed friendly once they realized we were friendly. Very local crowd in here. Large paved parking lot. The water was off when we were there due to a water line break but they were bringing in pipes as we sat there. We would stop in again if in the mood for a smoking bar but honestly we can barely handle the smoke as it is just too much. If you like smoking bars they are friendly and appreciate your patronage.

We went for the first time the other day. Our bartender was accomodating even though our drink choices were a little annoying for a dive bar. We met the owner too. She was very friendly and I love that it's a woman owned business. Bring cash, they don't accept cards.
