Saint Fin Barre's Cathedral

A lovely piece of architecture and history…. Located in the heart of Cork city but so peaceful inside the premises… very well maintained by the management… interior with mosaic tiles will be really great to see… must visit if you are in cork city.. ticket price is €9 for adults… church is closed on 1st January and during 1pm to 2pm every day…

Amazing place to look at. The front has elaborate details and even gold. It is set in a small but well maintained garden. It’s a nice short walk from the centre of Cork after crossing the pedestrian bridge. Also, the Fort nearby is worth a visit too.

St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral is a beautiful Gothic church, especially impressive from the outside with its stunning architecture and details. The interior, however, is not as remarkable. It’s very central and easy to reach on foot, but the entrance fee of €8 feels a bit too high — in my opinion, it’s not really worth the price.

Incredible gothic architecture. I’m not religious but this was still a must visit for me because it’s such an amazingly designed and built cathedral. It is closed for visits between 1-2 and I got there about 1.30 but I just explored the graveyard

Visited Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral during my trip to ft Cork in mid-January. It was a quiet Saturday with only a few people around, which made the experience even more special. We went inside, bought tickets, and were warmly welcomed with the cathedral’s history written down in Lithuanian, which was such a thoughtful and touching surprise — thank you for that. A beautiful place to explore history and architecture, light a candle, and spend a peaceful moment in prayer. Highly recommended.

A beautiful Victorian era church, built in a medieval style, with some lovely artistry on display. It's a real shame that the much older medieval church with its round tower was destroyed to make way for the present building, but it is what it is. The entrance fee of €8 is very steep in my opinion, I can appreciate buildings like this need constantly maintaining, but it's relatively new and not a vast sprawling complex like Canterbury or Wells, had I have known about the price in advance, I may have been in two minds.

Beautiful interior of the cathedral, with the highlights being the stained glass and mosaic flooring. 8 euro entry which was fine, and you're given a little map too to help explore.

If you are visiting Cork, you must visit this Cathedral, built in the french gothic style in the late 18th century, it houses orignal models of the cathedral used in it's construction
