Saint George Hotel

This hotel feels two-faced. It has around eight rooms that are modern, clean, and high quality—but then there are the old, dirty, and low-quality rooms, which we unfortunately had the “pleasure” of staying in. We were given the apartment called Garden View. The name is misleading: you can only see the garden if you stand on the bed in the smaller bedroom, while from the kitchen/living and master bedroom it overlooks a parking lot. The room itself was in very poor condition: • A sagging bed • Lamps half hanging from the ceiling • Floor lamps daisy-chained together with extension cords • Stained curtains (that didn’t fit the windows) • Dirty, unhygienic pillows • Very dusty throughout • Mold in the bathroom Overall, this stay was extremely disappointing. The difference in quality between rooms is unacceptable, and guests should not be placed in accommodation that is clearly neglected and unhygienic. The manager eventually offered us one of the other rooms, but that was after midnight during the second night: we had already booked ourselves a third night elsewhere. I won’t be coming back for sure.

Charming little studio 5mins walk from the Grand Place. Equipped with a functional kitchenette, a little lounge area and a small but adequate bathroom/toilette, its like having one's own pied-de-terre in Mons. The only small thing was the shower gel dispenser was low on refill and the spare toilet roll had a brown stain on it. Another than these minor hiccups, the hotel staff was very amenable, helpful and friendly.

Very bad check-in from the manager, and he was very arrogant and rude. I reserved the room the day before, for an apartment with three rooms and a studio, it was very expensive for what we got. There was a piece of bubble-gum on the pillow-case (mentioned by another review in January 2025 on Booking), it was still there and it wasn’t a melted tag, because it was in the middle of the pillow, and tags don’t go in the middle of pillow-cases. The hotel was old and it was obviously not properly cleaned. It was a bad deal because of how expensive it was and how rundown it was.

Great staff, very friendly. Breakfast arrived promptly. Free secure parking for our motorcycles. The bathroom let it down. Dim lighting, no shampoo or soap to shower with and shower door needed attention.

Nice rustic hotel. Room very spacious and full equipped Location is good Cleanest is good Reception is good. The only problem was the shower door which was very difficult to open and close - must be fixed. Special thanks to Suzanne for instructions. Room 1002 WiFi is ok Because of that 4*. I hope it helps. A great place to stay if visiting Mons. Just a 5 minute walk from the Grand Place. Very friendly and helpful host. The hotel is located in an old palace. My apartment was lovely. Very large and spacious on 2 floors. The main living area was good, with comfy sofas, tv, and decent kitchen facilities. Upstairs, the bedroom was spacious and bed very comfortable. Bathroom was large. All very clean and tidy. Due to the building being old, there is no lift as a conservation order is in place. Definitely recommended. If I visit Mons again, it's the only place I would stay at.

This is the second time that my husband and I have stayed at this hotel, and given our experiences both times, I do not think that we would choose to stay anywhere else while visiting family in Belgium. Baran is super welcoming and one could not ask for a better host! On this visit, we stayed in one of the larger apartments on the first floor, with a delightful view of the garden. It was extremely quiet and peaceful, and the breakfasts were, as always, copious and delicious. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the decor, with its mix of modern and antique, is delightful. Highly recommended!

The hotel is like a princess doll house! My 13 year old daughter was fascinated over all the room decor. The entire facility is super clean, great location, a lot of room space and the staff extremely caring! We had to check in very late and they were so good about it! The beds are very comfortable along with the bedding. Unlike the other reviews we did not experience any noise. The parking for the car is such an easy process, cheap and right outside the hotel. Ideal for families with more than 2 children. Great value and absolute gem!!!
