Went for a cello/organ concert. The concert was great ...the venue...meh. This wasn't my first time attending a concert at this church so I brought my own seat pad to help the comfort level during the concert. It was cold inside the church (luckily I had car blankets to lend to my uncle and an elderly lady sitting with us). There was only one washroom for use at intermission (the line was so long some of us were brought to another building). The acoustics are pretty good here but I do cringe when I find out the this is the venue for a concert I am going to attend.

Only in town for a funeral - first time I've been since the fire and restoration. The place has been through the flames and back. It retains the beautiful architecture and spirit of the original. Just amazing.

Midnight Christmas mass... attended this Anglican service as an agnostic looking for an alternative experience. Incense and architecture were great but OMG it was long-winded with TOO MUCH SINGING. I thought it was going to be ernest and poignant, given the buildings history but the litergy was undermined by antiquated shakespearean corralling... 2.5 hours later (10:30-1pm) we were tired and regretful. Would not recommend.

Beautiful church, lots of history, we visited on doors open days. I also attended midnight mass here on Christmas eve a few years ago, it was a beautiful look into the past, the church was lit only by candlelight and the hymns were sung in Latin. Will definitely return.

The church is more than 200 years old. It was constructed for the Duke of Kent, and displays the same round architecture as The Princess Lodge and The Town Clock. The service itself is steeped in tradition and follows the Book of Common Prayer. The church has spread roots in the inner city community in which it stands- providing many outreach ministries. If you've lived in the city hour whole life, or just here for a visit, it is definitely worth a visit to this beautiful church.

Hours are stated as open 10am till 4pm M-F. When I visited from Cincinnati, all doors were locked on a Monday morning at 10:30am. I spoke with a person who worked for the church, and was told that one needs to call in advance and schedule a time to visit.

The Parish of St George (Anglican) is a wonderful place to experience the Holy Mysteries of Christ. The music, in my humble opinion, is the finest you will encounter in a church this side of Montreal, with a very skilled and dedicated Choirmaster. The liturgy is wholly based on the Book of Common Prayer (1962) and is presented in a most solemn and reverent manner deserving of the respect that is due to Christ. There is a great deal of outreach that happens in the community with particular focus on youth through YouthNet and the weekly soup kitchen held in the hall.

Yelp
Church! Praise! This is an okay venue for musicians to strut their stuff holy man style. No disrespect to the religious folk, I'm just speaking from my experiences at this locale which are purely of the entertainment and toe tapping variety. When I last ventured here to see a show, it was winter, and thus a chilly day indeed. Sadly, the space was as brisk as the blustery outdoors and I found my tapping toes turning to baby icicles in no time flat. The church is of course, lovely; however, as a spectator I found it hard to feel completely enthralled due to the seating situation. Pews aren't the most comfortable and these ones are organized in a way that's not the most conducive to viewing music. I mean, fair enough, this is a church and all. But why can't pews be cozy and comfy, perfect for taking in the scriptures and enjoying a Sunday morning mass and perhaps as well a rock show? I'd really appreciate some cushions and a little back support. But I suppose if that's not in the question, I'll take a little heat instead to warm the frigid interior on a cold day. Asking too much, am I? Maybe. But if I'm paying the big bucks to see a show, I'd like a little comfort. Anyway, this church is a-okay if you're going to visit for a show that's a must see. Maybe bring yourself some pillows though, especially if you have a boney bum.

Yelp
Beautiful inside and out. I am not a religious man. I am a spiritual one however. But I wasn't going to St. George's Round Church for either religious or spiritual reasons. I was filming a documentary and this church was part of the history surrounding the story I was covering. From the outside, the church is nice. Not amazing or incredibly large, but nice. It is located very close to the downtown shopping district in Halifax. When you walk inside, you are greeted by one of the largest, open space churches I have seen in the Maritimes. A large part of the Church is in fact Round. In fact it is the only round church left in North America. When we wanted to film inside the church, we were pleasantly surprised by very helpful staff. So the staff at this church are very helpful, which some may not find surprising. However I have been to a few churches in my day and have met some bad apples. So I wasn't sure what I would find coming to this round church. But thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. St. George's Round Church is a classically Anglican church. They have of course many services, but also have outreach programs, music programs, religious education and an incredible program for youth called YouthNet. Their goal is to help and inspire youth who live in the north end of Halifax where the church sits. I had a great time here and although I am not a fan of organized religion, this church did take my breath away. The staff are very friendly and they all do the best they can. It really doesn't get better than St. George's Round Church.
