Saints Kitchen’s food and service just makes me happy. The food is so delicious and nicely presented and the service is always friendly and efficient. My favourite place in Birmingham for a delicious brunch. The menu changes which means there is always something new to try though sometimes I feel sad because the dish I fell in love with previously is no longer available 😄. The sourdough bread is lovely and the hash brown fries currently on the menu is magical in my humble opinion. I also love the 50% dark/50% milk chocolate mocha. Hope the photos do the food justice. I have shared photos from two different visits so the menu was different.

Discovered this place while living in the Jewelery Quarter a few years ago and loved it. Came back today with my fiancé hoping to share a special breakfast. We were not disappointed.I had the avocado on toast with a side of delicious bacon which was good. My other half however chose the pancakes with custard buttercream, peanut butter fudge l, candied peanuts and salted caramel and I had instant food envy. The coffee was spot on and the service was excellent. Definitely a place to check out if you’re in Brum.

Felt the warm sense of welcome as soon as we walked in the entrance, being happily greeted by a member of staff. Excellent service. Homemade Chai Latte made my wife very happy. Generous helping of butter, not in a foil packet on the sourdough toast. WONDERFUL strawberry, lime and mint jam.

Google
Absolute gem of a place. Lovely location, food is just fantastic, the staff are always friendly. One of my favorite places in town. It also without doubt serves the best coffee. The coffee is something else. Most Saturday mornings in the winter me and my wife visit and have a couple of hours wondering around st pauls and a bite to eat here. Love it

Google
Wonderful place for a coffee some food and a catch up, not too loud. Gluten free options are amazing, all prepared I'm a separate part of the kitchen! The menu is mainly different types of sandwiches and they've got some delightful and rather bougie hashbrowns too. Everything on the menu can be gluten free. My only constructive criticism is that I wish they did an English breakfast, they've got the bacon, eggs, bread and hash browns on the menu, they could just add beans, ideally a sausage and they'd have it really

Google
On an unfeasibly hot day, we were cheerfully welcomed by the wonderful staff, and sat down for the most incredible salt beef sandwiches with hash brown fries. Fluffy bread, beautifully seasoned fries and tasty fillings. Definitely seek this place out if you're in Birmingham

Google
Nice spot right in St pauls square. Service is always great and really friendly. Small but nice menu. Food was very nice, I had pan con tomate, with burrata. Ice coffee was fine, small and not enough ice so it was not very cold and what ice there was melted very quickly making it watery. Good value, would go again.

I have been coming to Saint Kitchen for over 3 years and this is my space space. My partner and I come here on a Sunday morning, I bring my friends when they come to stay, and I come on my own whenever I have the time. It sounds cheesy but this place is honestly like a warm hug to me. The staff are lovely, the food is absolutely delicious, and the coffee is the best in Birmingham. It’s right next to Saint Paul’s Square which is one of the prettiest spots in Birmingham. You can never get bored of the food because they are always changing up the menu. You know it’s fresh as well because you can see the chefs making it in front of you. I rarely write reviews but am writing this one because this place is just amazing. I love Saint Kitchen so so much ♥️

Yelp
Food was good , I order the toast with avocado and egg. The staff was friendly and prompt . The environment was typical cafe shop , lots of chatter and the great smell of coffee. I'm from that states and it gave a nice vibe.

Yelp
Great place to meet with friends, especially during lunch hour. It is located right in the center of St. Paul's Square and it is not too crowded compared to the more centered area around New St. The ambiance is good and it's nicely decorated. The staff is friendly and they have a selection of medium sized dishes. It is not overly expensive (6 pounds). The only reason why Saint Kitchen isn't getting five stars, is because the food was not great. I ordered the bacon with poached eggs on Hockley Sour bread, and the bacon was too dry and salty. The toast was also tasteless and hard. But they do give a good amount on the plate. If you go, get their hot chocolate... any of them... it's a MUST. They are actually known for their hot chocolates. I believe they have 4 types of hot chocolates, all from different countries and continents with different percentage of cocoa strength. It doesn't matter which one you get, but just get one.

Yelp
Supreme food more than fit for a Saint. I had the lamb flatbread. Gorgeous. Just don't eat it in front of anyone you want to impress... This is messy business. The lamb is sloppy and juicy, with creamy yoghurt freckled with pomegranate seeds and sliced veg. Loads of other lunch options on offer, from salads and paninis to soup. The chocolate millionaire cake (or whatever it was) looked so good I practically pressed my nose into the glass to ogle. There're lots of tempting breakfast options, too, for those staying nearby. And their hot chocolate is award-winning. Saint Kitchen is holy goodness, right here in St. Paul's square. He'd be proud.

Yelp
I have ordered from here a couple of times via Deliveroo - the pastrami bagel is absolutely superb. Homemade pastrami that melts in your mouth and the ingredient portions and ratios are perfect. I would eat this every day if I could. Wonderful value for money too - you can't go wrong for a bite to eat here.

Yelp
Had to update my review on this one as this place is actually a decent spot to grab a coffee or work. Nice vibe, good coffee and great tunes playing while you enjoy. Situated in the very beautiful setting of St. Paul's square this is one of the best places to get a cup of the dark stuff in the area. Food wise I have only ever had a jacket potato but it was also pretty decent. This is more full you up food rather than pretty little portions but that's always a winner with me. Slight grips are a lack of plugs for laptops although the wifi is good and the £5 minimum charge for card payments. Apart from that this place is a lovely spot for food, drinks and general chill.

Yelp
My local on picturesque St Paul's Square on the edge of the Jewellery Quarter. The beautiful view is enough to get you there but then you learn these guys are serious about their coffee. I was there recently and got invited into a tasting, there and there! They were trying some new beans and I was given instructions on the best way to get the flavour. (Unlike wine, we could swallow the coffee). On top of their quest to keep improving what's in my cup, this four year old independent has now started supplying their very own home made cakes. They look gorgeous and taste better. Ask for the lemon cakes!

Yelp
I love the new look and feel of Saints, a sort of bakery/dairy look (and the Amelie soundtrack which was playing when I was in there last) The menu is fab, and it's always a treat to pop in for lunch now and then- I work just down the road. There's a selection of panini, sandwiches, noodles, tempting soups and seriously good pasta salads (which actually contain salad veg, unlike the Tesco style pasta salad). I had one with sundried tomatoes and pesto, which was really tasty. They have both soup and pasta (last I saw was king prawn linguine), plus an all day breakfast. They still have loose leaf tea and a good coffee selection plus skinny and soya milk available at no extra cost. With your tea/coffee, you will obviously need cake. The cake is always good. My favourite is the lime and ginger crumble, which they don't have all the time, but that's probably for the best since I could eat it forever. You can eat out or sit in and the staff are always very friendly, too. Free wifi is 'coming soon', apparently. I do hope so.

Yelp
First time here today. I was attended to very swiftly, was served in good time.Price was reasonable and Coffee was nicely presented. To top it up, the interior decor is a winner for me. Will go again :)

Yelp
I'd love to tell you how extensive the menu is here or how the coffee is made or anything really but the truth is this: I turned up 20 minutes before the instagram meeting that was starting here and had a bottle of coke zero - in a glass bottle with a straw. It was a bendy straw. My friend had a tea that he seeemed rather unsure what to do with and a cake that came on a wall tile. However the staff were VERY friendly and even came outside when we were ready to set off came and took our group photo for us. How lovely.. Of course I tweeted about it so you know. every helpful thing counts. This is a large, bright, airy, coffee house with about plenty of tables and white tiled walls. Next time I'm having a meeting in JQ I'd probably come back and try and soak up the menu to report back here. My Coke Zero was nice though...

Yelp
Nice cafe opposite the square. Wanted small bite. Interior is nice and comfy seats. Love the view outside of the square. Would've loved to sit outside but was chilly. This place is very cheap, was surprised. Got a panini and drink and came under £5. But...... was not impressed by the panini. Dry and barely any fillings. They need more variety of food on menu. I wanted just chicken cheese panini which they didn't have. They had chicken with something else I can't remember (bad memory) But staff was happy to make me what I wanted. Friendly staff and free wifi (thumbs up) Relaxed place and seems popular. A lot of customers in suits when I was there. Not surprised, cool place to come have a quick bite or small meeting. I'll try something else next time when I got no rush

Yelp
Even though this little cafe is on my doorstep (figuratively speaking), I never ventured into it's previous incarnation "Saint Caffe". I cannot tell you why this is the case, other than the JQ being a hotbed of lovely little indie coffee places (and being a bit of a stickler for UCC and Brewsmiths). With so much choice, why would I go anywhere else? I was given an excuse when a fellow Yelper started working there and an Elite (Caroline B.) was singing this refurbished venue's praises. It was with high expectation in mind I ventured down there on Friday afternoon for a bit of Admin and Office Hours time. Unfortunately, I cannot compare it to how it was previously (having had no experience of it). I can tell you it's a homely, comfy and friendly little spot located off St Paul's Square. From the moment I walked in I was given a warm welcome and the table I chose was immediately wiped down (even though it was clean already). I was a little torn as to whether to go for a delicious looking fresh salad or some of their homemade soup. To help make up my mind, I was offered a little espresso cup of soup to try before I ordered (only a minor thing, but it made a big difference to my decision). After trying it, I couldn't NOT go for soup; so well played Saint. It was a tomato and red pepper concoction clearly freshly made and filled with flavor (perfect for a rainy freezing cold day in Birmingham). I went for an accompanying filter coffee and was given a lovely blend, with notes of cherry and other fruits, as recommended by the server. I ended up spending a good 4 hours in this venue and watched it get extremely busy over lunch before emptying out at around 3pm. It currently serves food from open to close (it does a breakfast menu and a selection of lunch options), but will shortly be opening a deli to compliment this service. My main complaints are the current lack of WiFi (but this is going to be available from Feb 15th) and no power points for the use of visitors. I would recommend this spot for a coffee or a lunch with friends, but not for a place to work (at the moment). It's certainly another delightful jewel in the JQ's crown.

Yelp
Despite being right on the square this place is pretty low key from the outside, on the inside though it's a bright modern coffee shop that utilises the space in the unit really well. Coffee here is of good quality, not too in your face and they'll bring it over to you after you have ordered at the counter, always a nice touch. The range of food goes a bit further than most coffee shops in town, on top of the normal coffee, cakes, sandwiches you can also get things like a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel, making Saint Kitchen a great place for a lighter breakfast. If working out of a coffee shop is your style then this place would be an ideal place to set up camp for a few hours, keeping you happy with a constant supply of caffeine and food in a relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
I absolutely love everything about this cafe! From its location to the fresh and lovely homemade Oreo Cupcake found on it! Everything at Saint Caffee is just inviting! This independent coffee shop is placed in Saint Paul's Square since 2008 and it has the essence of Jewellery Quarter! It's pretty chic without being snobby! I have saved my appetite for having breakfast there today and it couldn't be a better choice, really. Its modern interior design together with art- for sale-on the walls, give a bit of kick to the place. If you are in a hurry, there is always the option of grabbing a sandwiches or a drink to go, but I would recommend to sit and let the hair down for a while this coffee shop. Free wi-fi is available and the staff is really friendly. The Iced cream caramel is an excellent choice for a lovely hot day and their Oreo cupcake was made in heaven. An explosion of flavours for only £1.60!!! Once going too Saint Cafee don't forget to pay attention to the interesting tips on the tiny chalk board placed in each table. They are quite funny ones!

Yelp
To get over my sunstroke from sitting in St Pauls square too long taking instagram snaps of the church over and over. So the next day I retreated in the shade of Saints Caffe for some r&r. The staff are way too nice here and they love coffee and cakes. Like to the point that if you took coffee and cakes away from then they would fall into a dark place. It's a great thing to see and you learn about coffee and what they do just by reading the cool chalkboard signs dotted around the shop. Because my body is still fried I opted for a cold drink this time, a hazelnut frappe. Was really nice, hit the spot totally. I'm not expert on coffee but this was the best-iced coffee I've ever tired. The menu in diverse and has obviously been crated with a lot of love, lots of specialist coffees both cold and warm, porridge, cookies, soup and baked potatoes all looked nice and were insanely cheap, nothing breaking a £5.00 note. The decor was simple and spaced out, comfy chairs and low tables. A little exhibition/art show was on display next to where I was sitting, prints seemed nice and it was an overall nice touch.

Yelp
It's really hard not to genuinely feel affection for this new Saints Kitchen. It's my preferred central JQ meet up place. When it was owned by Geoff (now owner of Faculty) it provided both the best espresso I've ever had and one of the best flat whites (not quite the best). Partly this was down to the roaster/bean blend, which was more to my liking than some around Brum, but also due to the care taken to get things right. Now, things have changed and while the coffee is still very good it may just lack the tad of 'exceptional' needed to put it in the top category. But it's still as good, often better and more consistent, than most places in Brum ... and you get the sense they care. The owners have changed and the new people have improved the look and feel of the place hugely. It now feels more spacious and cleaner in design. The food offer is better (tho more expensive) and the whole set up feels much more geared to food. Finally, there is a variety of seat/table arrangements which helps with meetings of different types, the location on St Pauls is fabulous and the staff team without exception seem lovely and just the right side of attentive. Highly recommended!

Yelp
The coffee used to be excellent but since the barista Liam has started working at the sister cafe the quality has dropped and it is frankly nowhere near as good. Please train all your baristas before they are unleashed on the machines.

Yelp
A few years back, I spent a happy summer of writing in this relaxing cafe located in the peaceful and picturesque St Paul's Square. Going to the monthly Likeminds here last week reminded me that I've not reviewed it yet! I love that they do an unusual range of teas, and their food is tasty too. The owners are really friendly, and they have a good team of staff offering efficient service. Saints is a great place for meetings, with its open layout and relaxed vibe offering a good space for allowing ideas to flow. They are also good at putting together tables for larger groups to accommodate you (ask if you need that). And the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel...heaven on a plate!

Yelp
Went here for the first time today for a coffee and a chat with friends. There was a bit of a queue when we got in but we got served relatively quickly and they have a mouth-watering array of cakes on offer as well as the usual coffees and soft drinks. In the soft drinks department, they have both San Pellegrino and Fentimans drinks for sale which I am a big fan of. We ordered coffee, a soft drink and cake, had a seat and were served in about five minutes which was reasonable. We ordered two americanos which were nice but quite bitter; almost as if the machine had been slightly too hot when the coffee was made (and I like my coffee strong!). Some milk resolved this situation though and all in all it was a decent cup of joe. They didn't have free wifi yet but a board informed us that it's on its way. The service was friendly and polite and we got a goodbye and a wave on our way out which was nice. I would definitely come here again.

Yelp
One of Birmingham's finest independent coffee shops. Set in a beautiful location and great for parking. Never had a bad cup of coffee at Saints. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and they have an excellent range of loose leaf teas. Lots of reading material available so you never have to feel lonely when waiting for friends. Food is good too!

Yelp
Nice café opposite Saint Paul square. Opens early which is always good and it is round the corner- actually slightly further but it's OK. Relaxed atmosphere and cosy seatings or counter seating are available through the place depending on mood or the time you got on your hands . The fruit infused water/palate cleanser is always appreciated to go with my constitutional espresso or something more unusual as cascara -coffee cherries- brew or olive leaves tea which I definitely recommend. Unusual I admit but worth a try ;-)

Yelp
If you want a place which is away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre and serves the best coffee within a 1000 mile radius then look no further. In a great location across from St Pauls Chruch on the actual square and decorated with wall art and a mix of modern seating and vintage table and chairs but a comfortable setting nonetheless. Actually each time I have been here there is always something different but the one thing that remains consistent is the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food and coffee - ooh and the best cupcakes in town The coffee is amazing; no Starbucks grade rubbish here. The passion and care that goes into making my coffee is comparable to the Japanese Tea Ceremony such is the precision and technique. Try one of their gorgeous espresso shots and the barista will narrate his steps to you and why they are so important, if like me, you are curious enough to ask. Along with being a nice place to relax for an hour or so with a book, they also have free wifi available and great views of the church. I love going here and miss the cafe and the staff very much and in general the personal touch that goes in their service.

Yelp
Love this place! Been in here numerous times now, great coffee and great food. The location is lovely, on the edge of St. Pauls Square and conveniently only a few minute walk from my flat! The playlist they play in here too is a collection of all my favourite songs!

Yelp
Popped in here in desperate need of mid-morning refreshment. What was supposed to just be a quick coffee turned into a rented office space. The more coffee I ordered the longer I could stay on a comfy sofa with my laptop and crack on with my work using the free Wi-Fi. It was raining so I was in no rush to move from my newly discovered sanctuary. After my second expertly prepared Cappuccino I became a little peckish and ordered a slice of a very attractive looking chocolate covered shortbread. It tasted as good as it looked and I didn't mind that it wasn't homemade but bought in from a supplier. It's a modern cafe, perfectly comfortable, open without too much emphasis on decor or fancy fixtures and fittings other places rely on. I'll certainly be going again.

Yelp
Saint Caffè is a lovely little independent coffee shop located on St Paul's Square. They serve a range of coffees and coffee-based drinks, as well as teas and freshly-made sandwiches. The venue is spacious, well-lit and stylishly-decorated, with plenty of seating available for those in search of a break away from the office. There are newspapers and books available to borrow during your stay, and the cafe offers free wifi for all its customers. On my last visit I bought one of their sandwiches, and while I was a little put off by the price, the size and quality of the sandwich made up for this. The bread was fresh and thick without being stodgy, and the filling was both tasty and plentiful. Compared to the often clueless staff you find working at chain coffee stores, those at Saint Caffe were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the product they offered. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Lovely, affordable independent cafe with friendly staff, great service and tasty food. Sophisticated decor and chilled out low-level music make it a great place to relax with a book at lunchtime. If you forget your book, there's lots to borrow!

Yelp
A nice little cafe situated in the jewellery quarter opposite the cathedral. The coffees are lovely and well made and there is an extensive lunch and brunch menu. Will definitely be returning to try out some of the food next time in the jewellery quarter.

Yelp
Awful food! I visited this cafe not too long ago and the place looked 'unfinished' like something was missing. My partner had the bagel with pulled pork and said it very particularly bland. I originally went in there for a jacket potato but they had ran out so I went for the soup of the day which was meant to be 'homemade'. Won't be going again, disappointing.

Yelp
On our first ever visit my family and I were left feeling that the place wasn't fulfilling its full potential. Firstly the seating is all over the place, ok not literally but it was fairly eclectic and disorderly with one table out at the back, another blocking the window, owners obviously not into feng shui) We were left wondering why the cosy sofas were not placed near the windows so that the pleasant view (any greenery in an inner city is surely an asset) could be enjoyed, instead they are plonked right in the middle looking out of place, in addition to making the walk to the counter a navigational challenge. The chairs are not uniform, which makes it look a little shabby. (Not chic) The music seemed much too loud for a lunchtime, meaning it was difficult to enjoy an over coffee chat, book or browse through the newspaper. We realised that this was probably to drown out the fridges, which had an uncomfortably loud motor when they came on. We found the menu diverse modern and the food nice, we were satisfied in this respect, but food was served on wooden boards, a welcome chic and contemporary idea. However, some of these boards (as there were two sizes) in practice were just too small and not up to the job for a sandwich and salad (despite the salad being a meagre portion). This meant that when eating it with your fingers you would knock it off the board, also filling that would normally fall onto your plate as you ate the sandwich similarly also instead fell onto the table, and was subsequently wasted. The staff were pleasant enough though and the vanilla coffee I had was delicious, it had artistic shapes which was cool and added to the presentation. The place seems to need a little more direction as it has great potential.

Yelp
Great place for a low-key lunch. Business traveler from the US appreciates a simple, easy lunch, with good food and a friendly staff. Panini's are excellent, as well as the soups. I will definitely return here on future trips.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast - delicious, fresh, great presentation, reasonable prices. Veggie Breakfast was huge and fantastic - beans in a pot, 2 poached eggs, lemoned avocado on thick toast, fried cheese, 2 large mushrooms, potatoes scrambled with spinach and tomato. Chai with soy milk and according to my husband best Americano ever. Orange & apple juice available at the counter. I hate beets but I tried my husband's beet fritters and they were good. Casual, comfy atmosphere with good music playing. Order at the counter - friendly service. Light, fluffy pancakes with yogurt, honey and banana. Numerous veggie options notated with a v.

Yelp
Saints is a great little cafe bordering St Paul's Square. It's open Mon - Fri 8am-5.30pm and Sat 10am-3pm. Understandably they close on Sundays as the area is usually a bit of a ghost town unless it's really sunny. Inside the cafe is quite chic in black and cream with a mix of leather sofas, modern dark wood chairs and tables, a cream leather sofa/bench and some garden furniture which is both inside and out the front of the cafe. This sounds a bit ramshackle but actually looks quite nice. They also have some really stylish chandeliers over the window seating while the rest of the cafe is lit by embedded spotlights. The counter area is glossy black and there is a large gilt framed mirror, which is a nice touch. A selection of local, free magazines are available to read and there is also a small book selection. At the moment they are showcasing work by local photographers which is also for sale. It might be worth enquiring if you are an artist as the cafe does get quite busy in the week due to the local college, architects, solicitors and many other businesses around the Square. The coffee in Saints is absolutely delicious. Today I have mine in a takeaway cup but usually they create a little swirly heart or tree on top which always makes me smile. The snacks are pretty cheap; the cakes are all around £1.60 when in town they'd probably be about a quid more. They also serve cookies, wafers and suchlike. Food wise they serve breakfast, bagels, paninis, ciabattas, toasties, soup and baked potatoes - all priced at between £1.80 and £3.50 with a large selection of fillings. The staff are polite and friendly and the atmosphere is very chilled out. They play some great music too. Today is Saturday and Saints was meant to close about 10 mins ago. A few customers appeared at the last minute but the staff remain relaxed and happy to serve. You wouldn't get that in a chain establishment. If you're ever in the area then pop in and check Saints out; it's really nice and the coffee is just right.

Yelp
Saint Caffe is a great coffee shop set in beautiful St Paul's Square. The coffee is always smooth and beautifully presented and they have a great selection of cakes, pastries and sandwiches if your feeling peckish. Not big on coffee? try the loose leaf teas! I often visit on business to meet clients as it has a lovely ambience and chilled out staff who always make you feel welcome. Free wifi and a great selection of reading material too. We LOVE Saint Caffe!

Yelp
What do I think of Saint Caffe? I think it's just great. The coffee is superb; with beans supplied by some coffee-loving Italian brothers, they're freshly ground on the premises (The beans that is, not the Italians !) so it's a great place for coffee connoisseurs from that point of view. It's also great for the rest of us - the interior has been decked out in an understated, classy kind of way and is a far cry from the sandwich place that used to be there. The seats are comfy, the music's at just the right level and the service is spot on. Lucie and Geoff, the owners, are really friendly and helpful - they introduced me to the Hazelnut Mocha which is absolutely delicious. I'd recommend asking them to whip up something that's off-menu! The prices are perfectly reasonable too - it seems cheaper than places like Starbucks - most drinks are around £2, with lots of regular sizes less than that. They also have a fantastic choice of fresh, organic sandwiches and salads for lunch, plus an incredible range of patisseries. Oh, and they have free WIFI for customers. And the location's lovely, looking out over leafy St Paul's Square Okay, that all sounds like a bit of an advert doesn't it? But honestly this place is great!

Yelp
Not a very good place to work at. You don't get holiday pay and you don't get paid for breaks, which is a bit of a shame because you work really hard in there !!!
