Saint Minas Holy Cathedral

Orthodox. Beautiful church, very well maintained. The icones and paintings inside are memorable. Surrounded by a nice neighbourhood with cafes and local shops. Ir was an incidental finding when walking randomly around the city center.

It is very well reserved or renovated ? Orthodox church. It has not only very nice stained glass window but also magnificent ceiling picture. There many icons inside the building. From the fresh flowers around saint minas icon, I could feel how much local people respect this saint.

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous interior. Bypass other tourist destinations and duck in here for an unbelievably opulent interior featuring fabulous frescoes and ornate chandeliers. By happenstance I wandered inside and was left to wonder why my cruise ship shore excursions didnt have this venue as an option.

One of the biggest Cathedral in Greece. A must visit in Crete. It's so very beautiful from inside too.

A beautiful Cathedral but currently there's renovation work happening inside. There's also a beautiful small chapel next to the cathedral.

A beautiful and peaceful place to visit in Heraklion. The cathedral is stunning, both inside and out. It’s a perfect spot to admire the architecture and take in the serene atmosphere. After exploring, it’s a great area to enjoy the view, have some delicious food, and relax with a glass of wine at one of the nearby cafés.

They are renovating so you can only enter the first part of the Cathedral. It stil gives a decent view of the painted ceilings.

I’ve visited many Orthodox churches, and this one was among the most beautiful. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to fully soak in the atmosphere, but I’m definitely planning to return in the future.
