We had a wonderful stay at Maison Saintonge. The hotel is utterly charming and impeccably clean, with that warm, intimate Parisian feel. Yes, the rooms are small but that’s completely standard for Paris.||The location is fantastic: right in one of the coolest neighbourhoods, with great cafés, boutiques, and atmosphere right on your doorstep. We’ll definitely be back.||One small tip: rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy at night, and you may also hear neighbours next door or above. Nothing dramatic, but light sleepers should definitely bring earplugs—or request a non–street-facing room to maximise comfort.||Highly recommended!

I left the hotel around 1am to move close to the airport. Too bad for my nice breakfast in Paris but the room is totally CLAUSTROPHOBIC. Besides being ridiculously tiny, there was no window and heat coming from a noisy AC unit. Walls are paper thin and you’re watching TV with your neighbors. Also there is a single person working there so if they go to the bathroom, they lock the front door: you can’t get in or out of the hotel during that time.

A lovely little hotel in a perfect location. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated and the staff were kind and even gave us a bottle of champagne for NYE. Really soft fluffy towels and lovely soaps and shampoos. However the rooms are absolutely tiny (couldn’t even open a suitcase on the floor, but that’s Paris) and there was no shower, just a very small bath with handheld shower hose. The walls are paper thin so could hear guests in the next door room running water, speaking at normal volume etc., but with earplugs it was fine. No street noise. We asked reception to book us a taxi as we had a very early train, and asked three times in the days before whether it was confirmed and was told it had been booked. The taxi never turned up and we had to book an uber ourselves right at the last minute. Would return despite these issues!

My first visit to Paris and I stayed in La Marais as recommended by a friend. This hotel was in the perfect location and as a solo traveller I felt very safe. It was close to the Notre Dame and the river and I travelled around very easily on foot or water taxi rather than the metro.|The room was small but perfect - had everything I needed and a really comfy bed, the most important part!|The staff were lovely and friendly, especially Ismael at the front desk who went out of his way to help me, including recommending the best pain au chocolat in the area! I felt really welcome and taken care of during the two nights I stayed there.|This hotel had the charm and character I expected from Paris and I will definitely be back one day!

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was incredibly tiny and in very poor condition. I understand it's Le Marais and the rooms are generally small, but this was a joke. You could barely open the door to the room without hitting the bed. The room also hadn't been cleaned properly before I arrived - there was hair on the sink and in the shower, and a clothes hanger hanging from the curtains. The shower did not have any showerhead, just bathtub with handheld wand. For €300 per night, please stay anywhere else.

Had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Saintonge! I had made a booking error and Ismael was super responsive and helpful when needing to resolve and rebook. The hotel itself was great, very quaint - stepping into the lobby felt more like a candy store than an hotel. It’s in an awesome location, felt very safe - lots of restaurants and shopping (thrift or otherwise!) and walkable.

Didn’t realize how much I was going to love this place. Room was great, with nice amenities and I mostly slept great (only noise was if you get a room facing the street—pros and cons there). But honestly loved the whole vibe of the hotel and the location couldn’t be beat. Plus, they have an elevator and AC, both godsends especially in warmer month travel. After recounting our Paris experience with others, I found how fortunate it was to have stayed at this hotel. It is central to a very cool, hip area with great shopping and charming Parisian atmosphere without the super touristy feel of some other arrondissements. As for the hotel itself, they provide a delicious full spread of continental breakfast, better than I’ve had before (and I’ve had many). Found myself eating at hotel for busy days where I wanted more substantial breakfast before lots of exploring. Overall had a wonderful stay and have already recommended to all my friends hoping to visit Paris in the future.

Overall - was not impressed. I will say, the location is lovely. Right in the heart of the Le Marais. But ultimately, I would not go back to this hotel. First off, we booked the Deluxe Suite, but that was essentially just a wheelchair room. The patio advertised online, is where they store the trash and isn't a place one would like to hang out. It's fully inside. Staff would frequently empty trash or get supplies right outside our room and it was very loud. The AC was broken and rattled the entire stay to the point where it would wake us up throughout the night. Also our room had no windows to the outside, even though it was a deluxe suite. Ok now the bathroom. This was one of the worst hotel bathrooms I've ever stayed in. There was mold (see pics) as the shower did not have a door. You turn the shower on for 10 seconds and the whole bathroom floor is wet. Cannot go use the bathroom or brush your teeth without wet feet or completely drying the floor with towels. The hot water was broken on our first night. Good location, comfy bed and pillows - but not worth it. Stay elsewhere.

Yelp
I stayed 5 nights and really liked this little hotel. It's in the Marais district, surrounded by shops and restaurants, not far from the metro and museums. Rooms are tiny, as they are all over Paris, but very nicely renovated. Be aware that your window may not look out on anything... another characteristic of low to midprice Paris hotels. For a somewhat pricey additional 13 Euros I had breakfast downstairs once - and it was good. I preferred nearby cafes, though. The young woman at Reception (who was always there; don't know when she sleeps!) was charming and helpful. Overall it was a classy little place that I would return to.

Yelp
Very nice Boutique hotel located in the 3rd eme' (and a quick walk to the 4th eme'). Room is small, but comfortable, beds were firm and well kept. Snack fridge was well stocked and prices were reasonable. Staff was very friendly, and even helped lug our 3 suitcases up 4 flights when the elevator was out of whack (it was fixed the next day). Room keys have to be turned in to the desk before leaving the establishment, but there was always someone at the desk when we returned, no matter how late. The real gem of this place is the location.
