Sairee Cottage Diving

Surprised to the superb location which ice-cream shop is under our room and restaraunt , massage , cafe and street food surrounded by. Beach is in front of the room. Anyway, a little noisy around the room due to room close to walking street but we’re fine. Rain shower didn’t flow strongly. Otherwise, it’s fine

I did a one-day try dive at Sairee, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. My instructor, Alex, was fantastic, she carefully went through everything I needed to know, and we got into the pool to practice. I had never scuba dived before and was very nervous about going in, but once I did, I had the most amazing time. Alex was so reassuring, constantly checking in on me and expertly guiding me around the reefs. I felt safe, supported, and completely able to enjoy the experience. I will definitely be coming back to do my Open Water course!

My partner and I recently stayed at Sairee Cottage to complete our open water PADI course. Alex, our instructor, was exceptional from start to finish. She was a supportive and reassuring leader throughout, which was especially helpful for me as I felt quite anxious at first. Alex took the time to get to know us and make us feel comfortable, explained each skill step by step, gave each of us individual feedback, and answered all of our questions with good detail. We were very fortunate to have had Alex as our first diving instructor and I hope that any instructor we have in the future are as talented, patient, and kind as she was. Ari, a divemaster in training, was also there to help us with any questions that we had, helped us with our equipment, and led us through our final dive. Ari was also a great teacher and demonstrated various skills in the pool and the sea, and was great at assisting us with skills that we struggled with. She was a friendly face who we enjoyed speaking to on our trip, and we wish her the best for the rest of her training! Sairee cottage resort was also the perfect place to stay in Koh Tao, with two great swimming pools, swim up bar, free shuttle to/from the pier, and an ideal location right on the beach. Thank you so much Alex and Ari for inspiring our love for diving, we wish you both the best :)

Did my open water diving course with Emmy, Zack, and Izzy. It was a great experience. Emmy led very well, and she was not only friendly and knowledgeable, which made me feel like I was in good hands. When it came to my group, I was in a group of five, and as I was on my own, Emmy gave me the opportunity to buddy with both Zack and Izzy. They were both great, friendly, and patient when it came to me having to take my time with my ears. Both giving me really helpful tips and tricks along the way. Would definitely dive again with any of these three again! Lastly, the facilities and boat were top-notch. The reception lady was very friendly and helpful when it came to organising my course.

We did not stay at the resort but stopped many, many times at the pool bar here and let me tell you that it is a great, small place for a drink! First, they had Guinness on draft, probably the only place on the island to do so. They also have Malfy orange gin with tonic that I was introduced to and became a huge fan of. Fun, low-key vibes. Bartender Lim (Spelling?) is awesome! He gets your drinks done right and quickly.

I had a great experience staying at and diving with Sairee Cottage. The rooms had everything you could need including a lovely hot shower and both fan and AC. The restaurant and the pools were also really nice! I was quite a nervous diver to begin with but our instructor, Emmy, was a great teacher and was really approachable. She was calm and patient even though she was instructing 5 of us at a time, which still felt like a pretty small and comfortable group size. The other instructors that we met also seemed very nice and welcoming. Big thanks to Emmy for making it such a positive three days!

I spent about three months diving and training with Sairee Cottage Diving in Koh Tao, doing my Divemaster, PADI IDC, and MSDT, and honestly it was an amazing time. I did my Divemaster with Martin Walsh, which was a great start and gave me a really solid base. After that I completed my IDC and MSDT with Marcel van den Berg and Julian Picco, and the training was exactly what I hoped for—professional, well organized, and focused on actually becoming a good instructor, not just passing exams. I stayed in the dorms that are included in the course, and I’m really glad I did. Living with other candidates, diving almost every day, studying together, and hanging out after dives was a big part of the experience and made the whole thing much more fun. Big thanks to everyone at Sairee Cottage—the instructors I assisted and learned from, the staff in the shop, the boat crew, the boat boys, and the captains. You really feel that it’s a team effort and that everyone cares. And of course… whoop whoop, diving with Perry. Always good vibes, great dives, and somehow whale sharks seem to show up when he’s around. Everything runs smoothly, the boats are well managed, and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed but still very professional. After three months of diving there, it really started to feel like home. I finished my training feeling confident and excited about what’s next. If you’re thinking about becoming a dive professional in Koh Tao, I can honestly recommend Sairee Cottage Diving.

Had a wonderful 5 night stay here while I completed my AOW (w/ Alex) and Nitrox (w/ Toni) training in preparation for my liveaboard next week. It was an incredible experience and both instructors were very experienced and knowledgeable and most importantly patient with me. I learned so much! I also met a few folks that were completing their dive instructor and dive master certifications and they were very friendly (shoutout to Ben who gave me some great pointers - Beans Will Release A Fart 😂) In fact everyone was just top notch! The bartenders at the pool bar were awesome made great drinks too. As a solo traveler I was kind of hoping to meet other divers in my classes but it ended up just being me - which is ok because I felt like I got exclusive, private instruction! Met a few other people staying there and they were lovely as well. As far as the room itself since I booked too late I was unable to get one with AC (or hot water) but honestly the fan helped a lot and I slept very well. The front desk was very accommodating and moved me to a room that wasn’t as close to the road because it did get pretty loud at night from the scooters and people walking. Overall it was a phenomenal experience and I really hope to go back one day. Koh Tao is an incredible place (I much preferred it to Koh Phangan!) with so many great restaurants and bars and the beach is beautiful. I only wish they wouldn’t allow scooters and motorbikes on the path along the beach front cuz it gets a little hairy. Thank you to everyone who made it such an incredible experience for me!! Oh and did I mention the absolutely stunning sunsets??!! 🤯🤩😍
