"Vermouth & Spanish-Style Brunch in A Fuego Negro When in San Sebastián , you absolutely must do as the locals do weekends at midday—hit the streets for a vermouth. It’s basically the Spanish equivalent of brunch, and one of the best spots to do it is A Fuego Negro. Famous as an avant-garde pintxo bar, A Fuego Negro actually has one of the the best tortillas (Spanish omelettes) in town: the perfect in-between runny and gooey, intense yellow-orange, with tender bits of potato and onion. They also have their own vermouth, The Beltza. These two together, plus a secret ingredient, a live DJ spinning vinyl on (many a) Sunday makes it a top place to day drink."
Tasting menu was perfectly paired with an array of Spanish white and red wines. A Fuego Negro was the meal I was looking for while in San Sebastian. Quite the experience considering all of the ingredients were locally sourced. Will be coming back yearly. Can't wait to see what great things the future of this establishment has in store.

Excellent place for pintxos and the best we had in the town. The decor is trendy and entertaining. The staff do seem very very busy and stressed but surprisingly managed to deal with the orders without mistakes. We tried the recommended MacKobe burger which was delicious. The kebab and the mussels/tomato puree/Bechamel were also excellent. Would definitely go back here to try the rest of their menu.

Absolutely one of the most memorable visits of my vacation to donostia, with by far the most interesting interior. I went for their tasting menu, full of exciting combinations and innovative ways to make and serve the food. There was a vast difference in tastes and textures, but nothing felt out of place. Our waitress was nice polite and informative, and the wines she recommended paired well with the food.

It’s got distinct personality which is refreshing.
The black rebas are very good. The burger is overrated. I miss the days when they had more offal on the menu. The tuna tartare is ok and the Tigre mussel is pretty good.
It’s a place that keeps trying to do new things and that’s important.

Don’t be deceived by the Kobe burger like we were by looking through all the Google and Instagram photos. It’s tiny! It’s also one of the best bites we had in San Sebastián.

A Fuego Negro had a lively atmosphere, the restaurant was completely full but don’t let it discourage you. Order menus from the wall as these are their specialty items. Get ready to be amazed with the creativity of the chefs. Kobi beef burger a must! Enjoy the squid ink donuts, and the repurposed brownie. You’ll enjoy every moment having pintxos at A Fuego Negro.

Really friendly staff and great choices. The place has real character and decor around the place is a good conversation sparker. People tend to go for the mono burgers but I highly recommend the mussel and tomato purée as well.

Now this is a good pincho bar. I went here with zero to none expectations and left with an amazing feeling. Pinchos is Basque tapas. This place reinvents the pincho. They serve Kobe Hamburger and fried whole chicken. And to top it all of. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is another experience all together. I highly recommend this bar to anyone looking for a great meal.
