Saithong Guesthouse

The location is good, near Tapae Gate, and it's quiet. Cleanliness is average, and it's an old, run-down guesthouse. A serious problem is the water with rust. It was so bad that I couldn't shower during my stay. I've never seen a hotel with such plumbing. You should seriously consider when choosing this hotel to stay.

We booked this guesthouse for Loy Krathong. It's quite charming and, above all, very inexpensive. The owners are very helpful; since I suffer terribly from mosquito bites, they provided me with a mosquito net. However, there were a few things that bothered us. There's very little light in the room, so you have to leave the room to put makeup on. Also, the shower and toilet are in the same room, which we found a bit inconvenient. And it was a little dirty in places (deposits around the faucet or mold on the tray where the cups are kept). We also found the fixed cleaning time between 9 and 10 am on some days somewhat inconvenient. We wouldn't come back, but that's simply because we usually book much more luxurious hotels. If you're on a budget, you'll feel comfortable here!

I had a really pleasant stay here! The guesthouse is affordable, has a lovely and relaxed atmosphere, Air conditioned rooms and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s centrally located near the phae gate but still very quiet, which makes it perfect for relaxing after exploring Chiang Mai. Highly recommended!
