We haven't been here since pre-panini, but I do recall thoroughly enjoying myself with the all you can eat haha. Honestly might be the best sushi in town.

Actually good Barrie food

The variety was really good. Presentation was nice. Our first order never fully arrived but service was good after we alerted our server. Only dislike was hot green tea in a plastic cup. Hot tea should never be served in plastic.

TLDR: Pretty good food with some exceptions! Fairly pricey. Bad for noise sensitivity if you go at peak dinner hours. --- All you can eat, and we've eaten here many times! It is expensive though, be warned! Definitely go earlier than your regular dinner time, as it gets pretty busy quickly and once it does, sometimes some of your orders will be missed. Given that it's all you can eat, though, that's not a huge deal. What is to me, though, is that it gets quite noisy in such a small space! Edit: I would avoid the "assorted tempura" option here- i find that they're always kind of lukewarm. The singular ones though have been good! There's no "ice cream tempura" on the all you can eat menu as I'm seeing on my Google review page, just so you know! Staff isn't overly friendly but still provides good service over all so I don't mind :) All in all an enjoyable experience, we'll continue going here for sure!

Amazing Experience at Sakana House! I had a wonderful dining experience at Sakana House Japanese Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The service was attentive, polite, and very professional. I also really loved the atmosphere; it was warm, inviting, and perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Japanese cuisine. Definitely worth the price!

Limited lunch options, the sushi was decent but the kitchen (non sushi orders) were low quality and missing many options normal AYCE places have. Service was mixed as I got double orders on some items and missing orders on others. The atmosphere was as you would expect.

Today around 9pm we walked in to eat with my friend and both our service dogs. This man in black in the picture was cooing and making kissing sounds to both our dogs (who of course ignored him as trained). But when we were seated this close, he kept looking to our dogs tucked under the table and making kissing noises still. When I asked him to please stop he got defensive and refused to admit he was doing it and when told to stop got upset. Completely rude and uncalled for and we almost walked out. Better training towards service animals needs to be given, south end location frequently sees my service dog and do great. All the other staff at north end location were very nice, but this man made us very uncomfortable with his angry face staring at us the rest of our meal.

What surprised us - waitresses not friendly at all. Every time they bring order, i would say "thank you". I never heard reply even once. In total probably 4-5 waitresses brought orders to our table. No eye contact, no smile, no "you are welcome". To be fair, it was only one mature gentleman server, who was a bit chatty and smiling, when we asked for a bill. We came 1 hour before lunch buffet was closing and we felt rushed. A couple times we were reminded that they are closing in XX minutes. They only good thing about that - they would bring our orders fairly fast. I was a very different experience compare to the first time we went there (when they are just opened) years ago.

One of the best sushi places in Barrie, the menu is pretty big, there’s a lot of options, everything is always pretty fresh and the service is really fast considering how busy they always are. Will be our go to sushi here in Barrie.
