Well kept rorbuers. I don't know if these are former fishermens' or not but they give the feeling that they were, but with some renovations and added amenities. The location is right over the water with a beautiful view. A wood burning stove keeps the 2nd floor warm. Communications via email were timely and clear. One checks in by taking an envelope, with your name on it and containing the key and site map. We did not meet any staff. It was also refreshing to see that their website depicts an honest view of a rorbuer. We had traveled north and west from Oslo over 2 weeks and a couple of the cabins only give the 'best' image on their website. We were thrilled when we saw our rorbuer looked very similar to what they advertised. The location allowed easy access to many of the isles of Lofoten. We were very happy and comfortable here.

It's the best rorbu town in Lofoten! Breathtaking view on turquoise water, beautiful mountains all around and of course the house - it's well equipped and large, has 3 rooms, a bathroom and balcony, a fireplace, nice music on the radio which created a cozy and luxurious atmosphere. Just amazing! It's one of our best travelling experiences!

The cabin was wonderfully clean, with a cozy sofa in the living area and a kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed, including a stove, oven, and seasonal cooking essentials like oil, salt, sugar, and pepper. The bed was super comfy, and the blanket kept us warm all night. The bathroom was spacious and delightfully warm. And the absolutely breathtaking view! To top it off, the owner welcomed us with lights and heaters on, and even tuned the radio to a jazz channel! The self check-in and check-out made everything so convenient. The location was perfect, just a couple of minutes' drive to Hamnøy and a short walk to Olenilsøya. However, the cabin didn't provide soap and shampoo.

WOW! This place was spectacular. The setting was GORGEOUS and serene, cozy and comfy. It was private, clean, and had a beautiful deck overlooking the water and Reinebringen! We mostly ate out but made our lunch in the kitchen and ate on the deck. Loved it. It is in walking distance to two really wonderful restaurants and an antique shop and a short drive ( a km or two) to park for the Reinebringen hike. If you are looking for quiet, comfort and gorgeous views this is the place!

Google
This is our favourite place in Lofoten. We stayed at unit 18 which is the furthest unit from the car park, but facing the sea and we got to enjoy the tranquility with the beautiful view. The room is new and fully equipped. The sofa is big and comfortable that we can fall asleep in the sun in the living room. Spacious shower room too. The food options are also easily accessible from this location therefore it really made our trip hassle free.

We completed our journey in this rorbuer and we are still very happy about our choice.|5 generations alternated in these fisherman's cabins and you can feel through the wodden walls all the positive vibes. Wonderful terrace where to enjoy, according to the weather, the sun or some fresh air . The small wooden stove give an extra touch to this welcoming place. Owners are very polite and helpful. Everything worked perfect for us. We will definetly come back here one day!

Google
Jaw dropping view. Especially from our room 18. I highly recommend booking the two newly remodeled „deluxe bungalows“ as they have a little private walkway and porch with THE best view. Bungalows 17 & 18 share the outside area. Spacious rooms, big bathrooms and loved the proper oven in the kitchen to make frozen pizza. However there is some room for improvement: 1. The kitchen didn’t feel 100% clean like there was just a faint smell of food radiating from it. A dishwasher would be a very nice touch. Because you’re expected to do all the dishes yourselves in a sink. There is no room service but I guess that’s the concept of a Rorbuer. 2. the upper level got very hot at night and having the window open for cool air is hard with polar day and all the light and wind coming in. However we were so lucky with the weather I guess this was a rare problem for Lofoten. 3. the floor leveled shower didn’t drain properly. So the bathroom got a little flooded every time we showered. This can be fixed and probably we could have asked for it. 4. the blinds don’t completely block out the light. And there is a window right over the bed. Weirdly they did in none of the hotels we stayed in in Norway. One would expect they’d do a better job at this as polar day appears every year. I highly recommend a sleeping mask.

The welcome at the reception was very kind and friendly, we had a good chat when we arrived. We spent 3 great days there. Small hitch, in front of our Rorbuer there were works, which woke us up 7:30 am! We had magnificent northern lights on the spot, of what never to forget this place which will remain engraved in our memories!

Yelp
Absolutely love this fish market/restaurant. They sell a wide variety of fresh fish, including salmon sashimi and smoked steak. We came here to sit down for a quick bite and ordered the shrimp, fish soup, and classic fish burger. The shrimp was delicious and I'm not normally a fan of cold shrimp. The fish soup was super flavorful and had huge chunks of fish in it, I just wish it was a little creamier like the ones I had in Bergen. The classic fish burger was great, but one thing to note is that it's not fried fish but more of a fishcake patty. They have a lot of other burger options too including shrimp and salmon so we will definitely be back during our time here since our rorbuer is so close by!

Yelp
Came here because it was recommended by our Air BnB host + it was among the few concrete suggestions I found when researching Lofoton Islands. FOOD: Husband and I enjoyed our cod fish burger, but it came with way too much sauce. Food was fresh, flavorful, and served quickly. Burger did not include a side nor any tomato slice. Fish cakes from the grocery stores were actually better! Overall 8/10 They also have a cafe bar (coffee, tea) and boast several dessert options. AMBIANCE: Seating is plentiful indoors and out. There's also a gift shop with some local items to check out. Views are beautiful, of course. OTHER/BONUS: play structures for kids and lots of high chairs available.

Yelp
This place was the most scenic meal I've probably ever had- my husband and I stopped for dinner, him getting the whale tataki and myself getting the cod fish sandwich (there are multiple fish sandwiches offered). The sandwich was very filling and fresh, and the bread was nice and soft, although the sauce was too sweet for me. I had one bite of his whale just to say I've tried it and it was interesting, wouldn't be able to eat a whole plate of it though! They also sell bottled beers (we got a good saison) and wine by the glass. Beautiful dinner!!

Yelp
Very yummy, we ordered the whale dish & the fish soup. Both very delicious. We tried whale elsewhere in Norway and it was so overcooked, but this one was served with pink in the middle. Also bought some local goats cheese as they have a store section. Great place!

Yelp
On a cold rainy day in February, we found ourselves taking a leisurely lunch here at Anita's Sjømat on Lofoten. I am traveling through Norway this week, and stopping every day at different places. We lined up on a busy afternoon and watched as the lovely ladies behind the counter handled everyone with aplomb, and with a smile. I saw several options and settled on the Poo Bear sandwich, but for me, being gluten free, without the buns. Mine came with a salad and a fish cake made from potato starch and fish. It had a delightful texture and nice flavors. It was so good but for me, I wanted more. I also ordered the fish soup. It was creamy and delicious, packed with seafood! My friend had crab legs which he reported were good but not enough for a meal. So he too had another lunch plate and was happily satisfied after. We both had fresh brewed coffee and that too was exceptional. Loved the food and the atmosphere, I highly recommend!!

Yelp
The whale tartare was uniquely amazing! Def not something you see often. It's paired with a sesame soy sauce which is def goes better with. The fish sandwiches are what theyRe known for. And although I'm not huge on fried anything, the fried fish sandwiches here lived up to the hype. Fresh ingredients that combine sooo well. Cool gift shop, bakery and drinks are offered here as well. Well worth a stop on your way to Reine!!

Yelp
We really enjoyed the Salmon burger and it tasted very fresh. Nice vibes in the restaurant. Veggie burger was ok, but the seaweed was the nice touch - it was the only veggie option.

Sol C.

Yelp
Stunning location, fantastic collection of dried fish and unusual snacks, and of course the fish burger was seriously delicious. Highly recommend! Low-key and memorable.

Yelp
Went in around 12p on a Wednesday for some lunch. Got an amazing fish sandwich, they have so many options. It was prepared by a girl behind the counter and it was so delicious and pairs well with a beer too Would absolutely recommend stopping into this shop for a quick bite to eat on your way through the Lofoten Islands!

Yelp
After a couple of my kids decided jumping into the arctic sea would be memorable (it was) we stopped in at Anita's for what might be called the Lofoten fast food. We all got fish burgers after selecting our choice of fish. Great views, quick service and good food.

Anna N.

Yelp
The best fish burger ever! It's so worth stopping here for lunch/dinner! We took the fish burger with all topping. That means salmon and shrimps! The burger was very juicy and just melted in the mouth! For me this was a fish burger royal! Don't pass this place, stop for a burger!

Yelp
Yummy Cod fish burger where you can order the classic or with additional smoke salmon and shrimp. So lovely...fish fillet with a bunch of salad greens, smoked salmon, small prawns and aioli sauce, sandwiched between two hot crispy buns. No wonder everyone who visits Lofoten eats here. Another unusual food we tried here is the Seagull's egg. Eventhough the whites of the egg looks kind of transparent, the taste is just like the usual duck egg. The giant chocolate chips cookie is also very good. There are big chunks of chocolates (like chocolate coins) but the cookie itself is not extremely sweet. . Fish burger : 4.5/5 Seagull's egg : 3.5/5 Chocolate chip cookies : 4.5/5 Service : 4/5 Price : $$ Place : 4/5 . Non Halal Rest : Anita's Sjomat Location : Sakrisoya. Reine Country : Norway .

Yelp
I tried their fish sandwich for lunch and it was so delicious! It's a simple fish patty with cabbage and white sauce. For a fishing village where there's not much food, this is the spot to visit while you're near Reine, Hamnoy or Sakrisoy. Also tried their togo dried fish packets but I didn't enjoy those as much. Very fishy but it is all natural and healthy.

Yelp
Anita's Sjømat is an awesome little shop that sells local delicacies (seafood, cheeses, caviar, reindeer jerky, etc.) and is situated in the heart of Sakrisøy of the Lofoten Islands. They have an impressive section of smoked seafood and I looove smoked fish. We ended up buying some peppered smoked mackerel for dinner that night. The mackerel was super delicious; the smell was a little strong but the taste of the fish was quite delicate. It paired well with our pasta that night! The shop is also a good stop for lunch or dinner. Menu is limited but solid with fish burgers (they're apparently famous at Anita's), fish soup, and seafood sandwiches. There's even a picnic area out back with a play area for kids. If you're visiting the Lofoten Islands, be sure to stop by this spot for great local food and amazing views!

Yelp
The best food I've had in Norway so far. I've had many fish burgers to refuel between hikes. Love this place. They also have a lot of local trail snacks like different jerkies, deer, reindeer, elk. They close at 7 pm so time your hikes accordingly

Nicole R.

Yelp
We had the fish burger and it was quite tasty. Only thing is that the portions were a little on the skimpy side. Also, my boyfriend bought some of their whale meat and really liked it! He's a more adventurous eater than I am.

Claudia R.

Yelp
Very good!! Had the crab plate and my husband got the fish burger. Both were delicious. The only reason I am giving 4 out of 5 stars is because they have signs saying to limit your stay to one hour... this is due to their having construction to increase seating space but the sign seemed a bit rude. Maybe just a language difference? Not sure. When the construction is over I'm sure it'll be fine.

Dannie W.

Yelp
The king crab here is so fresh and juicy. It's the best I've ever had. The smoked salmon burger here is said to taste very good too. I like their location and decoration. They also have a store that sells smoked salmon, jams, syrup, different caviar, and dried fish.

M K.

Yelp
The best fish soup I've ever tasted! Real Norwegian food. Absolutely worth a visit! Nice staff and clean restaurant. Unique little store where you can buy Norwegian food and souvenirs.
