1/31/20: It is a high end department store. Posh. The workers in the Prada boutique were nice & helpful. 6/18/21: The cologne counter sales men were not friendly, & the 2 products I wanted to try on had no testers. They did not offer me a sample either, & they did not apologize for my inconvenience! I did not appreciate their poor customer service! Upstairs on floor 5: men's department: the sales men were fine. They were having a sale. 10/1/21: The Prada shop had the item I wanted, & the store was having a 15% off cologne sale, so I bought Tom Ford OUD Wood (tied for my favorite scent). Free travel 10 ml spray atomizer too increased the bargain! 10/2/21: The Tom Ford fragrance counter gal, Yessenia, was so good with her sales talk & friendliness, I went back & bought another Tom Ford package & body spray (all Oud Wood). She tried to help me buy more stuff, but they did not have the stock in store or online. She said she'll text me when they're available. I want the Oud Wood soap & body oil. Yessenia was great. She'll help you well. I saved over $250 buying both packages & the body spray during their 15% off sale! 3/13/22: They had Givenchy shorts that I liked & a velour Ralph Lauren pullover sweatshirt, so I bought them.

Very beautiful place for just to know. Great and expensive brands you can to find here. But you don’t see a lot of attendants in the store.

Google
I had an amazing experience shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue, thanks to Diane! She was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and really took the time to understand what I was looking for. Diane’s knowledge of the brands and current deals was impressive and helped me find exactly what I needed. She made the whole experience enjoyable and seamless. Highly recommend working with her if you're shopping at Saks!

Google
The jewelry department destroyed my ear cuff. I had ordered my ear cuff to be tightened. When I arrive, I find my cuff to be over tight and my emeralds to be loose. In fact, one fell out! The associates stated "we did our job, it's been tightened" I explained that the stones were loose. They "examined" them and denied any wrongdoing. They even shook the cuff to hear anything. I was charged $190 for incompetence. Also, when I waited, people would come in wanting to shop, couldn't, and then the employees would say "what are you looking for?". Some would say "I don't know, I just want to browse" This happened several times, and therefore they lost several customers.

Google
Stay away and save your time. I don’t appreciate someone forcing me to try dresses when I am not ready. Their new concept of appointment and staff walking around to ‘help you’ clearly doesn’t work. I like browsing through the collection before I start trying. The assistant who was supposedly helping me was eager to get me to try without trying to understand what I am looking for. Without even asking me she just assumed what my price range was and if I picked something, she condescendingly pointed out the price. I guess next time I need to wear my pearls to shop here. The most inconsiderate part was she was going to show my infant videos on her phone without ASKING ME! This is not cool at all. Saks please train your staff on how to behave with clients and specially with kids.

Google
I was hesitant, based on reviews, but made an appointment with a required sales associate. I found the experience totally delightful. Associate Cece was knowledgeable and professional. She gave me plenty of room to browse but close by whenever I had a question or needed a size. A personal shopper. I look forward to another visit sometime soon. Also, each department did indeed have a ‘on sale’ section. I was able to try on any garment I wished. Also able to try on any shoes I wished as well. There was several associates working with clients in the store. I was extremely happy with the experience.

Google
First of all who doesn’t love union Square, I always have the most outrageously wonderful experience at SAKS because of my personal shopper Larisa. She always gives me outstanding service and it is so kind and she has great professional taste. It’s an extra special place to shop

Daphna S.

Google
Not a nice or pleasant or enjoyable experience to shop with appointments and personal sales rep that follows you. No sales racks - no contemporary so they only carry the classic designers. Looks like an empty and sad store to work at. I used to love this store even just for inspiration.

Jim S.

Yelp
This store is now "by appointment only" which basically means that an employee has to escort you around the store. This was slightly awkward for me, as I'm not used to this type of thing. I suppose it depends on the employee you get, mine wasn't too pushy. I can understand requiring appointments in order to control the flow and keep shoplifters out, but I would suggest they allow you to browse on your own.
google avatar

Tim W.

Yelp
No wonder they're closed. The change to "by appointment only" model (as noted by others) means more than you think. It means that whenever they DO let you in, you're followed around by a salesperson like you're a felon. It's not for service, attentiveness, or anything like that. They throw the vibe that you're not wanted, you're suspect, and you need to be monitored like a toddler. The entire experience reeks of "stay away" - which is tragic and sad given our decades of experience shopping here. Sadly, the old Saks died a while ago. What remains now is an obscenely-grinning cadaver, mocking loyal customers for daring to visit again. Perhaps a little too strong? Maybe...and nothing a quick walk over to Loro Piana won't solve.

Yelp
I used to like coming to Saks Firth Avenue because there was a certain nostalgia of the days when I would come to Union Square with High School Friends and daydreamed of the day when we were rich and living out our extravagant lifestyles of abundance. Well, those rom coms really set everything up to fail. Most recently, Saks Fifth Avenue started becoming a must-visit spot because of the $50 credit on the American Express platinum card every 6 months. Since the store is always hard to navigate but the online catalogue was even more difficult to navigate and rarely had the necessary things (or won't even ship to the San Francisco location), I would visit the SF store due to the lesser of two evils. Store associates would always be helpful, but felt like a borderline between desperate associate trying to get enough sales/commissions to gain additional hours and security ensuring that their precious items remained shelved. Last time I was here, a new associate helped ring me up. I explained to him that the item selected had a retail sticker of $55, but inside the box showed a former price tag of $46 and requested for the lower amount. The associate, although helpful, wasn't very experience (or did not have the permissions) and had to journey to the other end of the store for a manager. The ordeal took 20 minutes but they were able to grant the desired price. Most recently, this location would require to you make an appointment in order to visit the store. The appointment coordinator also informed me that they only had specific sections available, as they no longer carried mens, home, or kids items. I feel like they are about to close down this location. Additionally, please keep in mind that the hours (even with an appointment) are through 6pm.

Yelp
One of the worst shopping experiences EVER! They recently implemented a new policy which requires all customers to schedule an appointment. Upon entering the store what used to be the perfume counter is now sectioned off with a curtain and about a dozen sales associates standing around, eyeing you as you enter the store. The person standing at the makeshift check in kiosk asks (or rather demands) if you have an appointment. They make a fuss, but will let you in even if you don't have one, however those first few minutes upon entering the store are enough to make you want to turn around and walk out. If you are permitted to enter the store you are then surprised to find yourself being shadowed by what appears to be a security agent (though most likely a bored sales associate) who then proceeds to give you unsolicited advice about every item you lay your fingers on. "Would you like to buy that?" "Can I get you anything else?". If they are attempting to make it appear like a personal shopping experience, they've done an incredibly poor job. Not a single one of those people has any extensive knowledge about fashion and I wouldn't dare trust any advice given to me. Their only objective is to make as much money for the store as possible and prevent theft. It creates for a very unpleasant shopping experience. The fact that they've tried to mask this new policy under the guise of exclusivity and a feeling of luxury just makes it that much worse. There's no way that anyone feels good about shopping while someone is constantly hovering around and eyeing you with suspicion. I expect so much more from a luxury department store. You walk into Neiman Marcus and it's a completely different experience. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and in line with a luxury retailer and the sales staff are familiar with the products and brands in their store. Do not waste your time with this Saks location. Go spend your money somewhere where you are made to feel welcome and not treated with contempt the moment you walk in the store. And if you think your longtime loyalty as a Saks customer will spare you from such an experience--you are wrong. Not only have others complained about not being notified about this change to their SF location, but they were made to feel just as unwelcome as anyone else. It's time this location just shut down already. We all know that's where most of the stores in SF are headed anyways.

Yelp
I have shopped at this location for 35 years. Now you have to make an appointment to shop there. I think it is the worst idea ever. I was nearby, having my hair done, but I arrived 15 minutes late for my appointment, and they wanted me to wait "awhile" for an associate, so that I could come in to shop. I am not going to bother to go to this Saks location from now on. If they can't attract employees, they need to pay them more. If they can't afford security guards, they need to find the money to hire them. Whatever the corporate reason, they have lost me, a very long time customer. It is Neimans from now on.

Yelp
Worst experience ever. The store that was fabulous has been completely ruined. You can only enter by appointment and must have some annoying salesperson tag along while you make personal decisions. Not only that but, a significant percentage of the merchandise is no longer carried at the San Francisco location. Go to Macys across the street for a fun experience and the ability to wonder and browse
google avatar

Jamie W.

Yelp
As a loyal Saks shopper, I will never shop this location again. I realize that there is a major issue with theft in the SF area, but there's no way I'm going to shop with a "personal assistant" following me around. This is not my shopping style. Instead, why not ask for ID at the door? I highly doubt if this store makes it through the holidays. I am SO disappointed in this location and will be taking my business to Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus.

Yelp
If anyone wanna do the order online with Saks fifth Avenue, you might wanna think twice.... It takes 37 days to get your refund!!!!! I didn't know that until I talked to a rep today and I was told that's their standard process time to issue a refund. They have received my return and it's been three weeks since then. I made the call to their rep and she told me their refund policy is 37 days so she asked me to wait till another few weeks and if I haven't received the refund by then, I should call them AGAIN!!!! To me this is not acceptable, are they gonna pay the interest for me??? Anyway, I was not aware of this refund policy before I placed the order. I simply think I should provide this piece of information to every one who is interested in shopping with them online. At least you know how bad the customer service is at the end of the day.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this store no longer has any jewelry or menswear or contemporary clothing. I was able to make an appointment on the phone very quickly for the next day. But as soon as I walked through the curtains, I was very shocked/disappointed/frustrated and somewhat embarrassed. The sales associates were just standing around. It was just a desert in the store. There was barely any jewelry (nothing like before) and the 3rd,4th, and 5th floors are completely empty. Sad to see a well heard of store going downhill. I wish them well.

Yelp
Salesman in the moncler section super friendly and helpful. Would recommend you pick up your moncler jackets here as the selection better than moncler store.

Yelp
Crazy how rude all the staff were. Worst shopping experience in my life I'm shook. Never come here

Yelp
**Saks Union Square Review: A Terrible Experience** Two weeks ago, I had an absolutely awful experience at Saks Union Square. Despite being a loyal customer who had shopped there multiple times in the past few months, I was treated rudely and condescendingly. Apparently, they've introduced a policy where an "appointment" is required to even enter the store, and a sales assistant is assigned to follow you throughout your visit. Evidently I should have somehow known this change in policy somehow. I was "greeted" (rather shunned) by "Kym" at the front, who rudely asked (demanded) for my appointment. This was news to me, as I had never been informed of such a requirement in the past. She claimed (exact words) they were "trying to be more like Chanel," which felt pretentious and unnecessary. Despite being dressed well and groomed nicely, I was reluctantly allowed in, but an embarrassed sales assistant was then uncomfortably Velcro'd to my side by Kym for the entire visit. Frankly, this store has gone way downhill. The inventory is poor unless you're in the market for an Oscar de la Renta ballgown, which I wasn't that day. They've gotten rid of their contemporary and men's departments, and taken away the joy of browsing. As someone who loves to shop and is a great customer--especially Saks--I have never felt so unwelcome in a store. Saks Union Square, get over yourselves. Neiman Marcus down the block treated me kindly and has a beautiful, welcoming store and staff. Saks, you've lost a customer, and I suspect you're on the way to closing that location anyway. Shame on you, Saks Union Square!

Yelp
My daughter and I, for years now, have made an annual trek to downtown San Francisco as part of our Christmas tradition. Leisurely perusing the glamorous gowns and dreamy scents of Saks has always been a part of this trip. Over the years we've swooned over Tom Ford perfumes and imagined other, more faraway lives as sequins and silk dazzled us out of the dailiness of schoolwork, or box lunches, or cleaning house. Saks was a destination. That place, those days--are sadly over. We arrived at Saks today to find ourselves standing in front of a curtained lobby, with a curt "greeter" standing at a computer kiosk, asking if we had an appointment. To enter a store? What? We said, no, we didn't have one, but they took our names and let us in anyway. Much to our surprise, and later irritation, we were followed by what I can only think now was some kind of attendant. As my daughter and I slowly moved from perfume to perfume, the attendant followed us and repeatedly asked us what we wanted to buy, what we're looking for, what brands we liked, and after multiple interactions in which I politely said, "We're not interested," I turned to her and said "We are fine. We'd like to look at things together if you don't mind." But she wouldn't leave us. She kept a little more distance from us, but the hovering continued. We walked to the coat rack. She watched from the corner. We admired the purses. She side-eyed our hands. We touched a dress. She stifled a gasp. It was clear she was not going to allow us to be in the store without her presence. The odd intrusion of an unwanted attendant deflated the sense of wonder. (I imagine it must have been awkward for her, too.) Thus ended our visit, not with a bang or whimper, but with the resolute *whoosh* of upscale glass doors as we exited into the drizzle of a winter afternoon. I don't understand what Saks hopes to accomplish with this policy- but it left me bewildered, annoyed, and, finally, defiant. I'll take my unapologetically working class roots elsewhere from now on.

Yelp
Ah what to say about Saks Fifth. I don't really shop here, but if I want to buy any luxury items I'll go straight to their store. Recently, my fiance got me a pair of Manolo heels from Saks online. While they're not the best heels out there I'm willing to endure the pain to slowly break them in. To my surprise after a few wears, the strap just broke, and I wasn't even walking, I was sitting in the car ... what ??? We walked into Saks for support, thinking that service will be excellent just like any luxury store. Nope , not at all. They gave us their email and basically said they're not responsible for online purchases...I mean come on , H& M does better than that. All in all customer service is horrible online and in store, or dare I say there's no customer service. Needless to say, we are not going shop there again.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Saks.com has beautiful dresses; unfortunately if you shop for them online and decide to return them, they will reject your return for the flimsiest of reasons. My return was rejected but had literally no damage, as confirmed by a chat with a Saks associate, who saw the photos and approved a return. And yet the dress was rejected AGAIN and sent back to me. On attempt number two, Saks support chat is saying, too much time has passed. (Is this a joke? Saks was holding the dress hostage through its return process TWICE.) I would NEVER trust shopping on Saks.com again, especially since many of the clothes are expensive, and if you aren't able to wear it, you will be out a lot of money. The event I bought this dress for initially passed three months ago -- what am I going to do with this dress I don't even like? I've filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because of the predatory behavior of their returns policy interpretation.

Yelp
So I was back in the bay area and I stopped by saks and it was completely empty on floor 1. My Boo Boo Alexis said that they are going to be open by appointment only and they are firing around 50 people and only giving minimal severance deals. Saks apparently doesn't care about the employees who need this job to feed their families. Lexi also said that the store manager is getting rid of all the African American workers and keeping most of her own kind. I will never support this company again.

Angie F.

Yelp
This San Fran location needs to shut down and stop embarrassing itself and insulting customers!!! It now requires your name to enter the store, you get an "advisor" (aka creepy security detail) assigned who follows you. Are you freaking kidding?! What a colossal insult to all customers. The store is 90% empty. My husband and I took our business to Neiman Marcus across the street and spent a ton of money there. NM store has a lot of happy and helpful employees who are not hovering all over you. Store selection is excellent. Service is impeccable at every department. Good bye Saks Fifth Ave - you lost a longtime customer.

Lenetta G.

Yelp
Great customer service, they found the shoes I wanted. Went back and brought a purse

Mili L.

Yelp
If I have a choice this review will be "0" star!!!! I bought a dress online with Saks on 9/9, return on 9/16 by mail, got an email that they received my dress on 9/23, call customer support to find out when I get my refund, I was told I have to wait 30 days, call them today 10/24, I was told I have to wait another week!!! Really!!! This is such a BAD business!!! I think they have money issues and cannot even refund my $491.00!!! NEVER NEVER shop with them as they are really going down!!!!!!!!!

john c.

Yelp
Mark my words, Saks SF will announce closure after the holidays. Now they have NM, they don't need this eye sore.

Harleen D.

Yelp
Went to SF Saks on 12/13 and found out that we had to make an appointment to enter the store but the man at the front let us enter anyways. My mom wanted to purchase a bag and asked the sales associate if she could see it. The sales associate responded by asking if she had an appointment and couldn't see the bag unless we had an appointment ; when we said no, she asked of how we even got into the building in the first place and had to leave. Odd experience.

Yelp
Ray in fragrance was a joy to work with. He is incredibly knowledgeable, honest and kind. He spent 30 min with me to make sure I left with the perfect new perfume. Someone give this man a raise

Yelp
Saks.com presents itself as a prestigious retailer, but my recent experience has revealed a disturbing truth beneath its facade of luxury. My interaction with Saks.com has been marred by deceitful practices, lack of transparency, and a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. The first red flag arose when I discovered Saks.com's undisclosed policy regarding the devaluation of gift cards upon returning items. Despite reviewing my order confirmation, I found no clear indication of this policy, leading to confusion and frustration when attempting to return items. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and reeks of deceitful behavior. Adding insult to injury, Saks.com labeled the gift card as "free" in the order confirmation, only to charge me for it later. This deliberate misrepresentation is not only unethical but also a clear attempt to mislead customers. Such deceitful tactics have no place in reputable retail practices. Furthermore, my attempts to address these issues with Saks.com's customer service have been met with inadequate responses, further highlighting the company's disregard for customer concerns. Their failure to acknowledge and rectify these deceptive practices reflects a lack of integrity and respect for their clientele. In conclusion, my experience with Saks.com has been nothing short of disappointing and infuriating. The company's deceptive practices, lack of transparency, and dismissive attitude towards customer concerns are appalling. I urge potential customers to exercise caution when dealing with Saks.com and to be wary of falling victim to their deceitful tactics.

Yelp
I ordered "Saks 25 Days Of Beauty Advent Calendar". After more than a week I started asking customer service where my order was. I then also noticed that I was very much over charged for shipping even though it's advertised that anything over $100 is free. I wanted a reimbursement for my shipping fees but they said they would not because it was "international shipping". I had to show them their own website policy that states items over $100 ship for free internationally. 17 days later I finally received the package! It was very badly damaged and it had already been opened. The next reply from Saks was saying I must have ordered "Express Shipping", which I did not. And even if I did would it have taken 17 days to receive my item! And why has my package been opened and why can I not get a response for the damage? The blue and bindings were gone so it opened up and spilled all over. Support is trying to find any reason to make you go away. I was severally overcharged for shipping and a "special handling fee" and duties and taxes that is 2X what Canada Border Services Agency estimates. My order grew from $326 to $493! And days later they reduced the price from $326 to $275. Saks will do nothing to listen to my dispute. Nothing at all.

Joan K.

Yelp
NEVER EVER ORDER AND RETURN ON LINE! You won't get your money back. Look at the BBB reviews. I ordered a dress online that did not fit. Eating the $10 return fee because the Saks in SF is by appt only. Returned 10/30 and still waiting for refund 12/2. I've chatted online, I've called three times and escalated up to a supervisor and still the same run around--30 day return policy for refunds and an additional week to process. Crazy and awful in this day and age and from the online comments many are not getting refunds at all or for lower incorrect amounts. Never ever buy from Saks again.

Lynne M.

Yelp
Saks was known as a quality store- I purchased a dress online and they give you some B.S. about returning within a window of time which they do not adhere to. I see this is a very common complaint - I won't be buying online from them again. Very bad customer service!! Beware!!

Lisa M.

Yelp
Upon entry to Saks, Fifth Avenue, we were required to give our names and we were assigned a personal assistant by the name of Eddie. He came with us as we shopped and was very cordial and made recommendations as to his favorites. He also showed us the art gallery, which was a nice touch. It's a little different to have someone assigned to you when you shop, and I'm not certain that I would enjoy it on a regular basis. But this experience was quite lovely since we were just browsing the merchandise.

Yelp
I am very disappointed in their return process. I have bought two mother of the bride dresses through Saks and got many compliments. I was trying to find a wedding dress for me. I returned three dresses and they claim I cut one of them and won't give me a refund. I tried all three dresses on for several minutes and then returned them. I didn't cut the dress and they won't show me a picture of what I allegedly did. Finding a wedding dress should be a fun experience - they have made it a frustrating one instead. I am now out close to $1,000. I will never shop their again.

Nick H.

Yelp
This Saks is a disaster now that they've switched to an appointment only model. Snooty salespeople follow you around the store like they want you to get out but it's not like there is anything to buy...no mens and a lot of my favorite skincare brands like Kiehl's are gone. What a joke....just close this store already

newintown k.

Yelp
LOL. I tried to run a quick errand to pick up mascara in between work and meeting friends for happy hour. The door guard asked me if I had appointment!!!! WHAT?!?! But oh this one time he'd let me in. Ok fine. I walk in and there's a second curtain and guard who wants to sign me up for a private shopper. I just want to buy mascara!! I'm not waiting for that. To be able to go behind a shower curtain over an entrance I've walked through hundreds of times before. I say fuxk no, I'll order it online without hearing them out because I'm in a hurry and just turn around and leave. The door guard "shouts" (not aggressively, just following my speed of motion), "it's supposed to be more exclusive!" LOL we want convenience not exclusivity. Particularly in the middle of tourist and business central SF. You're Saks, your clients need to feel even more exclusive??? We all know it's not about exclusivity it's about theft and employee safety. It's up to corporate to use their $$ and influence with the city to operate in an area where they can have a functioning store. Don't piss on my leg and tell me I'm supposed to feel more exclusive and better than. Seems like we're seeing the final death knell in department stores.

Yelp
Sacks fifth ave. Will no respond for any package lost I have a package deliver to the wrong address I was followed from the day I got the delivery notification Sack don't follow up And Sack costumer service told me to wait a week I wait until a week no signal of package yet! Costumer service said the package was no address My question was how come you delivered with no address My payment was PayPal and never have a problem So Sacks said is your fault And they don't refund the money Sacks costumer service sent a picture of the package dropped in a another building 2 blocks from my house I trace the building and the package No fedex has the package and Sacks don't even know They didn't do anything to investigate Is ridiculous that a high retail business like Sack don't even trace or investigate They just take the money and don't care My package still lost but At least I know FedEx pick up I recorded my phone call and the information from that building PLEASE DONT BUY ONLINE IF YOU DONT WANT TO LOST MONEY HORRIBLE SERVICE I DID A BETTER JOB THAN A MULTIMILLIONAIRE CO Here is the pictures

Beatriz W.

Yelp
Tried to order something from the store, was directed to the website and then hung up on. Called back, turns out they don't carry any gifts, could not assist me. Incredibly rude staff, this is not the luxury experience they claim to be...

Regina K.

Yelp
I ordered some items from Saks and the shipment was lost. I did not receive any update on what's happening with my order until I inquired about it. I then received an email that my pkg is lost. In the meantime, I had to get an alternate birthday gift. My pkg ultimately arrived later than promised. When I called to return the birthday gift item that I no longer need, I'm told that I will have to pay for return shipment. Saks customer service is the worst! I'd give them 0 stars if I could!

Calvin D.

Yelp
Horrible managers. Terrible return policy even with defective manufacturing. Tried to return a shirt that I wore once and put in the washer which the sales associate told me I could do. Shirt got totally ruined and they wouldn't take it back

Yelp
I decided to take my little monster with me to shopping recently. He's been to Union Square a few times, but I never took him inside Saks. He did okay. I still had to hold him when we go up/down those escalators (and there are many of them), but otherwise he was well behaved. The sales staff (especially the ones on the first floor) were so friendly and helpful. They are having some huge sales on higher floors, maybe cleaning out some last season(s) stock and preparing for new lines. Overall, We had fun visiting and brought some makeup and a shirt.

Yelp
When I'm town I always try to visit the place. Today was for a return and to look for a cocktail dress. Enjoyed the no fuss return. It was easy and quick. Enjoyed the shopping experience. Found lots of cute Sandro and Maje in clearance! Too bad store closes at 7 on a Friday and we had to leave for our dinner reservation.

Hector D.

Yelp
Terrible customer service; from the store to on-line support; there is NONE. Purchased some $800 Manolo heels for my fiance; she wore them 3 times; the 3rd time she was in getting out of the car and the straps that hold the top to the bottom of shoe just came off; a manufacturing defect. Took the heels to Union Square Saks Fifth and was told we cannot help you because they were purchased more than 30 days ago. I told them all i want is the heels fixed. They gave me a customer service email which they said was the best way to get them fixed. Inquired three time and "No Response" at all. Wrote to a different email on-line and again no support. When i comes to luxury items i will not be shopping at Saksfifth any longer. Not to mention i'll be sharing this story with a large circle of friends to avoid a disappointment for them. As is obvious from picture they've hardly been used; heel is brand new.

Yelp
Take this Yelp review with caution as I have read plenty of reviews from online customers who have had terrible experiences with Saks. I however was fortunate to have a normal, satisfactory experience. My wife and I have been looking at winter jackets/parkas at all the retailers. (At some point after this pandemic, I hope to travel to Seoul and Ulaanbatar during winter time.) So I finally settled on a puffer coat at Saks. I went into the store on Black Friday just to check the sizes by brands. These days, especially with luxury brands, a large can fit like a medium, and a XL will fit like a large, etc. So based on that, I recommend trying on the brand's sizes in store prior to purchasing online. Saks has a much larger inventory online and better deals will be found there. So after visiting the store, I ordered a puffer online and it took about a week to arrive. I'm happy with the quality of the coat and experienced no problems with Saks or their delivery set up through FedEx. For me, I would have no problem ordering through Saks Fifth Ave again.

Yelp
I returned a bag 21 days ago and it arrived at their warehouse 18 days ago. On their website, they claim refund will be processed within 10 business days. When I contacted them after 14 days (10 business days), they told me, 'oh, you have to wait 14 business days'. So, I waited another week and then contacted them again, they are escalating it which will take another 5-7 business days. This has happened twice within 4 months, so if you are buying something you MAY return, don't buy it from Saks.

Yelp
I purchased a Farm Rio dress back on June 8, 2024 but it was too small and they didn't have a larger size in stock to exchange it, so I returned it promptly and received a notification that they had it as of June 20, as of today July 11 they still have not reimbursed my credit card and when I called they have the customer service people say it takes 14 business days to get it processed, but in my case it has been 16 business days and no refund on my credit card. When I called yesterday they told me that they were going to escalate the case and it will take seven business days for the escalation to be looked at. Either they are low in personel to handle returns on a timely basis like other businesses or they simply hold on to the money to gain interest. This is the end of my relationship with Saks. The prestige that Saks had for so many years has gone down the drain, I am wipping them out of my emails completely. BTW I heard they are in the process of acquiring Neiman Marcus, good luck with the new ownership. Customer Service at Saks is really bad, they also had me wait on the phone for over twenty minutes...

Yelp
I went into Saks and was immediately greeted by Dianne, super friendly and knowledgeable. I went downstairs to see CeCe in shoes. She always remembers my size and style. CeCe is very professional, friendly, funny and efficient. I went to the 4th floor and loved the selection and service up there as well. Thank you Saks for a lovely luxurious experience.

Yelp
Mary Kay Johnson Fifth Avenue Club Consultant San Francisco, My wife shops at Saks and is rated a 5-star buyer; at a friend's suggestion, she used the services of Mary Kay Johnson Fifth Avenue Club Consultant in San Francisco, CA, and had a very disappointing experience. She found her to be very pushy and more determined to make a massive sale despite the items she suggested not being the correct size, not suiting her, and when she told her she did not like what she was choosing, she was pretty offhand. She did not know who my wife was. My wife prefers to remain anonymous before she trusts a personal shopper.Mary Kay Johnson

Yelp
I am deeply disappointed in Saks fifth avenue. I would even go on to say they are dishonest, have the worst customer service, and beyond that have a scam going. I hope Neiman Marcus drops their interest. In May I bought a jean dress. I didn't even open the dress and returned it immediately. Six weeks later I received a note that they could not accept my return due to no tags. By the way tags were on the dress. I was not interested in this dress as it was so so heavy. I then bought a sequin dress ( 2 months later) and on the same day returned it to Fed Ex (within 8 hours of receiving the dress). Six weeks later I got a note that they wouldn't refund me as the sash was missing. I never opened the dress as it was not the color as seen in the online display, it was ugly and heavy. Again after multiple attempts customer service closed their ears to my suggestion that they have a scam going on. Read customer affairs comments and people are complaining of the same. I would never, never, never shop here.

Yelp
Worst customer service experience ever...they are supposed a purveyor of luxury brands. I hardly got that experience with their web orders and attempted returns. After a dozen or so calls with call centers at the four corners of the earth and about 6 hours on hold, I still have no satisfaction. I'd say even IF there prices were half off and offering free gift cards with purchase. Clench your behind and run like heck as you will feel violated with these folks. I am not usually one to vent on social platforms but I am doing you a public service by telling you the truth...if you send your money here, you'd have better luck burning it or sending it to me, at least I'll be helpful on the phone.

Yelp
Shopping for the roommate can get a little difficult. He's very simple and doesn't really want or need much. And if he does want something, he just buys it right away. As a result, I had to think hard when his birthday rolled around. He doesn't really buy himself nice things, so when I realized he's had the same wallet since before we met, I decided to get him a new one. Seeing as there's no more standalone Prada store in SF, I decided to drop by Saks on Friday, September 7th a little after 5:30pm. I went straight to the Prada counter and looked at their wallets. They didn't have the one I found online on display, so I looked at a few others before I asked about it. I'm not a huge fan of their triangle logo, so I didn't care for the black one with that logo in the corner. I found a black wallet with raised PRADA wording in the corner which was the wallet I was looking for. Though the interior of it was red. When I asked about a one with a black interior, the lady helping me went to the back and found one. Yay! I found my Prada Leather Wallet ($395). Checking out took a bit of time. She went to the back to wrap the wallet and run my card. It felt like she was gone for quite a bit. I was able to do some work from my phone, confirm a reservation, etc. I wasn't in a huge hurry, but I did have dinner plans at 6:30pm, so I wanted this to go by faster. Maybe it would be better if they did all that in the front so we can see them doing it? That way, we're not wondering what is taking so long? In the end, I was out of there in less than 25 mins, which isn't too bad. I rarely go to Saks anymore, but it's nice to know I can still get Prada products from their counter here. I know it's a luxury department store, so maybe they think their customers want the sales people to take their time. But sometimes, a girl just wants to get in and out. Overall, A-OK.

Yelp
Went today to see what they had for the summer sales. Found a great shirt but wasn't in stock in my size. However, Mason in men's tailored clothing was excellent! Helped me to order and have it sent to my home and also look up my Saks charge card since I hardly carry it with me. Overall, quite an easy process and saved about 60% on my purchase! I'd strongly advise people to go to the store if you're interested in items on sale since I've noticed a few things in store that don't seem to show up on the website. Also, Saks.com does not have the pickup-in-store function set up for the SF store for some reason so be sure to visit in person for the best selection. If you're looking for mens clothing aside from sportswear, go see Mason near the Isaia and Zegna concessions.

Yelp
I now realize why I don't shop at Saks in store or online! It's a shame as back in the day Saks was one of *the* places to shop. The SF store is actually very beautiful and service was phenomenal, personalized, and lovely....I bought a very pretty sapphire ring a few weeks ago and was charged on my CC for it. They were planning to ship me as part of an upcoming sale- so basically they put it on hold, charged my card during the sale a few days later YET where is my ring? I don't have it yet and it's been nearly 3 weeks since my CC was charged AND I literally cannot get ahold of anyone at Saks.....I have called Saks and keep getting re-routed. It's very poor customer service in this regards and sucks. I had purchased a pair of heels online back in 2008 and had SUCH a bad experience with the purchase online as it looks months to actually get them and had told myself I will never shop at Saks again and then went back when I was staying at Union Square in SF randomly some 15 years later....and same deal. Bizarre logistics at Saks.

Yelp
6 month's ago I bought a coach purse. The purse was damaged/ defective. I used the chat option and the lady told me she could discount it, I thought about it and thenI was disconnected. I went back on and the guy wouldn't honor it. He was very rude and gave me to someone else who was also no help. I ended up returning it. I was going to shop at Saks again but decided to buy another purse for Christmas. I was offered a deal so I purchased it. This one also had a defect in it,a big crease. I contacted the again. There is no exchange option. They told me they would honor the price I paid . I got disconnected twice and finally reached someone who couldn't do the whole price adjustment. He said I had to call back once it shipped to get the difference and shipping. I called today and the person couldn't fiqure it, even though I have a reference number. They put you through to another country. Saks has the worst customer service situation. I'm done shopping here. This is the last time. Maybe the store experience is different but the online experience is awful. You would think a high end place like this would have excellent customer service since you spend large amounts of money but that's not the case.
