20251022 I happened to pass by and was drawn in by the restaurant's vibe. Even though the staff were about to take their break, they were kind enough to serve us, which we really appreciated. We ordered the Rosu Katsu Set, Hire Katsu Set, and Cheese Katsu. A great bonus is that the salad, rice, and soup are all refillable for free! The salad portion is quite generous, and their signature dressing is very refreshing—perfect for cutting through the richness of the fried food. The experience of grinding your own sesame seeds to add to the sauce provides a lovely sense of "ritual," and the aroma of the crushed sesame is wonderful. The pork cutlet itself was not dry at all, and the outer crust was incredibly crispy. I recommend squeezing some lemon juice over the pork, then dipping it in the sesame sauce with a tiny bit of salt—it creates such a multi-layered flavor profile! However, the Cheese Katsu didn't have the "cheese pull" effect I was expecting. I’m not sure if I ordered the wrong type or if it had just cooled down by the time I ate it. Overall, it was a great experience! Special shout-out: My friend accidentally sent a lemon wedge "flying" behind the sofa while squeezing it! The server was very sharp-eyed and handled it for us immediately. Thank you so much!

Saku showed up on various social media as the go to place for Katsu. The katsu was good, crispy with nice fatty bits. The soup and salad balanced out all the fried stuff in the meal. Was a good meal especially during lunch.

Came here for lunch on a Saturday when they opened. Got our table immediately. The two of us split The Zenbu Katsu and had more than enough to eat. The food was prepared nicely, though I found the panko layer to be a bit too thick. Service was where they really shined.

Food: got the chicken Katsu with curry. The Katsu was sooo crispy and the chicken was so tender and juicy. The curry added really good flavor. It was so delicious. Service: let me start off that miso soup, rice and cabbage are unlimited!!! The servers are nice but then kept forgetting about our table and it was hard to get their attention. Atmosphere: very clean style. I despise their chairs tho. It's just a bar for the back rest. My friend was very uncomfortable 😅😅

This place was delicious!! The chicken was so juicy and crunchy. The curry was rich, and I liked the unlimited soup, salad, and rice. We will definitely be back.

Definitely had a positive dining experience here in Saku! We ordered their Zenbu Katsu and each and every part of the set was so good!! They take pride in their Katsu and it shows! Their Sesame dressing was mad in-house so it's even tastier than the ones bought from Asian stores. It made our cabbage dish even more enjoyable! The staff were amazing and accommodating too! Will definitely go back 😊

Perfect meal on a cold winter day. The curry sauce paired with katsu, and the crispy yet gooey cheese katsu was good for the soul. The free refill on the delicious soup made this experience a 10/10. Lovely service, we were never kept waiting for long yet did not feel rushed out the door. Had a good time with my friend, it was my first time and I'm sad that there isn't a location in the US yet. I will have to return during my next visit.

Saku is an amazing restaurant that offers top quality katsu with large portions and strong flavors. I genuinely enjoyed every bite I had during this dinner because the meats/veggies in every item are super high quality and cooked to perfection. The breading they use is very thin and extremely crispy but the thing I appreciated most was that it did not feel like an oil bath. This really increased my ability to chow down without the greasey feeling. We ordered the rosu curry and the zenbu katsu. The zenbu is definitely the move for first timers because we were able to get a variety of pork, chicken, veggies, and seafood. Definitely shareable between 2 people, we were super hungry and we still couldn't take it down and had leftovers. My favorite bites were the pork and the shrimp. The rosu curry was awesome because it eats more like an entree with the curry. The curry has so much depth that if you're in the mood for curry, rice and protein this will definitely hit the spot. Unlimited refills on sides (cabbage and pickled), soup, and rice which was awesome!!!!! I also decided to add the mini kake udon and it was so worth it the udon is so delicious. The broth was so umami and felt very clean and light. I would definitely order udon on its own here. Also have no fear if you order the udon side -- it initially replaces the miso soup side on your platter but after you finish it you can get unlimited bowls of miso you just have to ask. We came to Saku on a Thursday night for dinner and they were bopping. Luckily they have a yelp waitlist which was awesome because we put our names on the list and walked to the restaurant, by the time we got there we had a quick wait while they set up the table. The tables are so big and cute!! The store is super spacious and felt super clean. Overall, Saku is a top restaurant in my books and I will be recommending it to anyone who comes to Vancouver. It'll also be added to my must visits on my next trip here!

The best katsu in the PNW fs. I've been to the popular West End location and I found the food here to be better, but the ambiance at the west end is nicer. We luckily did not have to wait in line. The food took a bit to come out, but was worth the wait!!

Delicious katsu, and even more delicious curry! Saku serves one of my favourite Japanese curries in town. Every main comes with unlimited miso soup, rice, and salad. The miso soup is pretty good, but I always just get the one. If you're lucky, your refills will be filled with chunks of goodness. The salad is really good -- their sesame dressing is delicious! I often get two or more salad refills. I got the Chicken Katsu Curry. I love that they separate the curry from the rice and katsu. I hate getting my rice and crispy katsu soggy, so this was perfect for me. I was able to pour curry in to my liking and keep the katsu crispy. The katsu was moist and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Perfect for a soft mouth. The seasoning was great as well. The curry had an amazing depth of flavour -- very rich and creamy. My partner said it punched her with flavour. It paired amazingly with the katsu and rice. Note that the curry is just sauce -- no extra chunks of anything -- but it's still amazing. The restaurant itself is very bright and clean and service is always impeccable.

We just tried a rosu pork katsu to go because my kid was reallllly wanting Katsu. The inside was super cute, everyone's food looked delicious, they were super nice, just let us order one piece alacarte and 15 min later off we went. He ended up eating a few pieces (and a bite for me to sample obviously) on the side right away because hello, fried food is always better on the spot! The crispiness and tenderness was on point, but the end piece I tried was quite fatty and chewy so not a great first impression. The other bite I tried was way better. My kid definitely enjoyed it! I'll need to go back so we can get the sit down experience with the unlimited cabbage, rice, soup, and yummy sauce!

excellent tonkatsu restaurant! The pork chop were fried to perfection, good service and nice and modern decor. The place is also well ventilated so you don't smell like fried pork chop after a meal. The fatty one is really fatty, so be warn! Fat and oil will literally explode into your mouth once you take a bite. I personally prefer the less fatty(premium) cut, in fact the fillet(tenderloin) cut was actually my favorite.

I'm sure the regular katsu here is great, but I wasn't a huge fan of my katsu nabe. I came with 3 other friends + 1 child for lunch on Sunday. We got here around 11:45 and joined the Yelp waitlist. Ended up getting seated around 25 minutes later, so the wait wasn't too bad. If I had known before coming that they use Yelp waitlist, I would've added myself to the queue before coming so it'd be a shorter wait. They were very accommodating for my friend's baby and had both a high chair and booster seat available. They don't have physical menus, only a mobile menu accessed by scanning the QR code. I know they're known for their katsu, but I decided to get the katsu nabe (pork katsu cooked with egg and onion in a sweet dashi broth) as I personally find regular katsu a bit too dry. For the pork katsu, you can choose between rosu and hire cuts of the pork. I asked about the difference between the two, and our server said rosu is more juicy and hire is more tender. I got the hire for my katsu nabe for $29. As with all of their katsu, the katsu nabe comes with unlimited rice, soup, and cabbage salad. I personally found the katsu bland with just the broth and asked for katsu sauce so it'd be a bit more flavorful. I also thought the hire cut a bit dry, so I kinda wish I had gotten the rosu cut as that was supposed to be more juicy. I left a bit disappointed with my lunch, especially for the price. Not surprising since I generally don't prefer katsu when it comes to Japanese cuisine.

The place was really fancy. The food was good but a little bit not worth it for the price. Forgot what I got but it had curry and rice. The service was okay.

The food isnt bad; your typical standard katsu that can be found in any decent restaurant that sells pork katsu. However, the price seems a bit high compared to similar restaurants. Unfortunately, my visit was ruined by the bad service i've experienced. Usually they would give you refills on salad and soup, but the server denied it completely when i asked because another person in our party didnt "spend enough on food". Which is a bit outrageous since he did order with us. There's no mention of this beforehand or anything written on the menu. Seems like an arbitrary decision on the wait staff, which left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Absolutely delicious meal! The sesame salad dressing sauce was one of the best I have ever had. Wonderful ambience and atmosphere. Staff are super nice and hospitable! Salad and rice are all you can eat! Such a great deal for such good quality food.

One of the best tonkatsu spots I've had! Great to share the platter to try a little but of everything. It was all fried perfectly. There is also unlimited soup, salad, and rice to make sure you're full. Their house made sesame sauce was soooo good for the cabbage salad. Highly recommend a side of curry as well, it went well with the rice and pork! Servers were attentive and nice! Honestly couldn't have had a more satisfying meal.

Coming from Portland, this was delicious with the perfect crisp. To me, this rivals Tonkatsu Tamafuji in Hawaii but with better value being CAN currency. All that being said, I had been fasting all day just for this meal and it did not disappoint. I ate about 3/4 of it and took it home and it was still good the next day after air frying. Would get the zenbu plate again.

The service was excellent. We were seated right away. The food was delish with unlimited soup, salad and rice. Their katsu batter was amazing. I had the Ebi katsu.

TLDR: Good place for a katsu craving. Love the cheese katsu, recommend ordering it as a side. Environment: The place is spacious and lots of tables for sitting. Vibes are super trendy, modern, and chic. Clean restrooms and eating area. Service: Wait times are reasonable, and I love that you can join the wait list from the app, helps both the restaurant and the customers. Each server seems to have a section and are very organized in the way they execute their service. Our server forgot to add udon to my katsu nabe but it was all good, they offered to add it when I asked about it later but there was just too much food so I declined. Food: The food is good and reasonable priced. My rosu katsu on my nabe was a tad overcooked leaving it a bit tougher to eat. Hopefully this isn't how it's normally cooked? The broth was amazing and flavorful. Wish I had udon with it, server forgot to add it to my order. I love the red pickled vegetables!! I would order a jar if I could. They also offer unlimited salad, miso, and rice. The katsu curry was the same w the meat being a bit tough. The curry didn't have much flavor either, it was a bit watered down maybe? Either way, lacked spices. The star of the show was definitely the cheese katsu. It's been the best cheese katsu we've had so far. The cheese is really flavorful and definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed dining at this place. The decor is modern, simple, and bright. The service is great and the food is fantastic! I didn't know what to expect but I'm so very glad I went! I had the miso tonkatsu. It was very good. The nice thing about this place is that you have the opportunity to have unlimited side dishes like the pickles, miso soup, or the salad. I had a second helping of the soup. The portion of the tonkatsu was decent. It helps to put yourself on the yelp waitlist to avoid waiting long. It's definitely worth the wait, but it is popular, so if you are someone who would like to time it better, put yourself on the list! Will be back as I enjoyed this place!

Came on a Saturday at around 11:30 and we were lucky to be seated right away. The place was pretty full already so I recommend coming early to avoid a wait! We ordered the zenbu katsu set with an extra set of rice, cabbage, and soup (+$8) and a side of curry ($9). Katsu was crispy, light, and flavorful. Big, big portions for the zenbu katsu set so come very hungry!! You also get unlimited soup, salad, and rice, and servers were very attentive in noticing what we needed. Ambiance is clean and calm with a bright interior. Overall, great dining experience and awesome service!!

I ordered the Hire Katsu set which came with pork cutlet, cabbage salad, rice, soup, pickled vegetables, dressing for the salad, sauce for the katsu, and salt to lightly dip the katsu in. I also ordered the giant ebi which came with mayo. Although the giant ebi was a bit pricey at $6, it was indeed giant and the outside coating was crisp, flaky, and delightful. Turns out, money does buy happiness because after taking a bite out of the giant shrimp I felt like I ascended. The katsu itself was very tasty. Crisp exterior but not dry on the inside. The katsu sauce was a bit strong so I only used a little bit of it. I alternated between dipping the katsu in the sauce and the salt for a good variety. I really enjoyed the salad dressing which was a sesame dressing. Soup was average, but pleasant. Saku a good experience!

I love Saku. The service is friendly as the servers check in. The space is breathable and feels spacious. I love the furnishings. It's bright and warm. This place has good Katsu. My fave is the cheese Katsu. It has a balanced flavour that's creamy, salty, crispy. The meals come with miso, Katsu, rice and cabbage. The best thing about Saku is their unlimited rice and cabbage. Really would recommend for the price (~$20-$30)

Second time here & it's just as great as I remembered. The interior is so cute and aesthetic. I got the rose katsu, which is pork. It was so tender and flavorful, the breading was perfect. It comes with miso soup and cabbage, which you can get refills on :) The waitresses were so nice and kept asking if I wanted to refill my dishes. I absolutely love this place!

Just simply go to eat the delicious Katsu and Cabbage Salad with Sesame Dressing.. They offered free refills in rice , soup and also for cabbage salad (whoohoo) Their environment is quite clean and livable and the server girls are so sweet

Essentially an all you can eat friend chicken place! I got their chicken breast curry combo with cake with - 1. chicken katsu which was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside 2. Signature katsu curry - very flavourful and not spicy at all. 3. Cabbage salad - their salad dressing was by far my favourite!!!! It was peanutty, salty and went well with the rest of the food. 4. Plain rice 5. Pickled seaweed Everything other than the chicken katsu is refillable!! The quality of the food is spectacular and their service is quick. The Broadway location is situated at a 5min walk from the Canada line and 99 bus. They also use the Yelp waitlist so don't forget to get yourself on their because this place books up fast!!

Probably one of the best katsu that I had. The restaurant is really nice and clean looking. The staff were very kind and friendly. They helped us decide what to get since our first time there. I got the zenbu katsu because I wanted to try a little of everything. I'd recommend doing another set of rice and split this meal. It was a lot of food. My favorite piece was the scallop. Really good texture and everything was fried to perfection. There a light crispy crunch to each bite without it being overally oily. The lemon salt, house mayo and katsu were great. I like how there were options to dip your katsu in.

Aside from places in Japan, Saku comes close to authentic as you can get for tonkatsu. The service and ambiance is good, but most times you will need to wait for a table. Definitely will return when I'm in Vancouver!

I really enjoyed my experience at Saku! Got the - Cheese Katsu $25.50 - Zenbu Katsu ($38 + additional set of rice, tonjiru and salad $8) - Chicken Thigh Katsu $23 Everything was fresh and service was great! I loved how there was unlimited miso soup, rice and salad! Also enjoyed how they provided both sauce and salt to go with the meat :) I found the cheese Katsu to be a little too cheesy for my taste - -one piece was enough for me (I'd recommend sharing that dish with a few friends!) I especially enjoyed the Zenbu Katsu! I liked how there was so much variety (Rosu, Hire, Chicken Thigh, 1pc Cheese, 1pc Ebi, 1pc Hotate and 2pc Vegetables) and it was the perfect sampler to get a taste of everything :D

I ordered the pork katsu and overall thought it was a good meal. The portions are quite large so I could eat the katsu for lunch and dinner. One thing that I was a bit disappointed at was the side of curry I got. The flavor and consistency was lacking and I personally felt like I could make better curry from a box. That being said, the katsu is flavorful and juicy!

Cheese Katsu @saku is always a good idea, don't you agree? We ordered: The Zenbu Katsu -- Rosu, Hire, Chicken Thigh, 1pc cheese, 1pc Ebi, 1pc Hotate, and 2 pc vegetables $38 Cheese Katsu $25.5 We had previously tried their busy Robson location and decided to visit their W Broadway location in hopes of it being less busy. We got there at 4:56pm and there was already a lineup. They opened at 5pm and within 25 minutes they were full and had a wait list If you've tried Saku then you will understand the hype over their food (specially the cheese Katsu) and why they always have a wait list.

First time in Vancouver and this place was recommend to me. Wow this was place was so good! The cheese one was my favorite but they were all delicious. Place was nice and clean. Staff was friendly loved how they had the option for refill on the sides. Would definitely recommend this place!

So I went here 2 days in a row. I suggest you come early lunch, before 12pm. There's usually a wait. I ordered the seafood katsu which comes with 3 jumbo shrimp and 2 scallops. The first day I ordered just the regular type then second day I ordered the curry kind. Loved it both days. I really like the tartar sauce they use. Service is quick and they are attentive. They check on you and ask if you want refills of your salad and the other sides etc. The place is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Simple and they play nice music. Love this place and I'm so glad I've finally tried it. Katsu on point!

AMAZING katsu! I've had katsu in many different states in the US, several places in Canada, and of course several in Japan as well. I forever have been looking for a place on par with the one I have been to in Kyoto and this is it! Thick, and juicy cuts of pork that are well worth the travel for, wrapped in a beautiful, flakey fried crust. The Tonkatsu went GREAT with the garlic salt and mustard which was a new option than what you are typically given when you get tonkatsu! Super smooth and flavorful potato croquettes. Absolutely delicious, everything went great with the peach soda. Super quick and friendly service! The resturaunt itself echos a little BUT still a great, clean environement. Will definitlely be making the trip up here again for this, thank you!

I love katsu and I saw a line outside of Saku one night which intrigued me. I looked up reviews online and they seemed to be quite good, so I made my way here Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, my experience didn't live up the my expectations and hype. How did this place get such high ratings? With a quick scan, there are quite a few people who rated this place 5 stars who only have one review (or only a few reviews) on Yelp, which can be suspicious. There is a minimum order of $9 per person by the way, which isn't stated anywhere. That doesn't include sharing a dish or drinks, even though the cost of a dish would be way more than $9 when divided by two. Anyways, that wasn't a huge deal but annoying since we weren't hungry enough for two full entrees. We would've just ordered takeout had we known earlier. The service was mediocre. The server only came by to take our order, drop off food, and take payment. She never checked up on us or asked if we wanted any refills throughout our entire meal. We ordered a pork fillet katsu, cheese katsu, and a tofu katsu. All of the katsu were very oily; I know it's deep fried, but some of the oil usually drips off or soaks back into the breading after resting. It seems like this katsu went straight from the deep fryer to the plate. The pork katsu was a bit dry, and the breading on the tofu katsu literally fell off when I picked it up. The breading on entire bottom of my tofu piece fell off. Both the pork and tofu katsu also lacked seasoning and needed sauce and/or salt. I prefer my katsu to stand on its own, and for the sauce or other condiments to just be optional. The tofu was the worst of the three. It just tasted like oil and lacked any seasoning whatsoever. It was in serious need of salt. The cheese katsu was the best. The cheese was gooey and oozing out and had great flavor, but I couldn't taste the pork even though I saw it inside the katsu. The interior looked nice and had good ambiance. Upon closer inspection though, it was quite dirty. The employees have a uniform that I assume includes white shoes, but if you look at the shoes of the employees, they're disgusting. It's from walking around the dirty floors and oily environment all day, but perhaps change the uniform to black shoes instead? The concrete floor was also quite dirty. I didn't notice this until my husband pointed it out, but I couldn't unsee it afterward. The restaurant was busy, but not full, and it seemed like people were enjoying their food. I've had much better katsu elsewhere though and don't think I'll be spending anymore money here. I'm not sure how people can compare this place with katsu in Japan. I've been to Japan multiple times and all the katsu I've had there is seasoned, crispy, and flavorful unlike the food here. I can't recommend this place to others.

The breading on the katsu is soooo crunchy perfect! Best I've ever had. The curry is so addicting and I like that they put it on the side. Unlimited rice and cabbage salad! Their miso soup is also one of the best I've ever had and it's loaded with toppings and even chicken! Staff is incredibly welcoming and I'm looking forward to my next time back.

After 4 hours of travel, we arrived in Vancouver and we were starving. After dropping off our luggage, we decided to find a place to eat. Saku was on the top of the Yelp list, the food looked good, and so we decided to give it a try. We were able to join the waitlist through the Yelp app and was quoted a 45 mins wait time, which was pretty accurate. We were number 7 in line. When we arrived around 7:30pm it was very crowded. Saku does dine in, take out, and door dash. After being seated, we were given water and a QR code to scan for the dine in menu. https://qrco.de/bcKQpJ I'm very indecisive when it comes to choosing my meal. If there is ever a sampler type option, that's usually what I order. I got to the third page and there it was, The Zenbu Katsu. The Zenbu Katsu came with an assortment of everything, Rosu (pork loin), Hire (pork fillet), Chicken Thigh, 1pc cheese (mozzarella wrapped with thinly sliced pork loin), 1pc Ebi (shrimp), 1pc Hotate (scallop), and 2pc Vegetables (eggplant and I think the other was some sort of pumpkin). Not to mention, it came with unlimited rice, tonjiru (pork and vegetable miso soup), and cabbage salad with goma (sesame seed) dressing. There was four different dipping/seasonings tonkatsu, seasoned salt, karashi (Japanese mustard), and tartar. The salt had a nice flavor like dashi or ajinomoto. They only gave a very small amount of karashi but a little went a long way. When the waiter brought out our meals, I knew I wasn't going to be able to finish it. It was HUGE and enough to feed two people. I later seen that for 8 CAD you can get an additional set of rice, tonjiru, and salad which would have been a better option for my husband and I. My son ordered the cheese katsu with a side of tofu. Personally I feel the cheese katsu tasted like a mozzarella stick since there was so much cheese compared to pork but my son loved it and so that's all that matters. I didn't try the tofu but he said that was really good too. The food was really yummy. Everything was good but I wanted to specifically point out that the pork was soft and moist and the breading was crispy and not too oily. The salad was fresh and paired well with the goma dressing. The tonjiru was perfect. On top of that, the service was amazing. They came often to refill our water and to ask if we needed anything including a take out container.

Holy katsu! First of all, get on that waitlist early so that you aren't stuck waiting for an hour outside. But, if you are in fact stuck outside for an hour, pop over to the Red Accordion across the street for a drink as Saku doesn't serve alcohol. This meal was freaking phenomenal. My husband ordered the chicken katsu and I ordered the veggie katsu with curry and a side ebi katsu. I'm Japanese and I've taken him to a fair share of Japanese katsu places that we thought were great, until coming here. The presentation was spectacular, with everything nicely plated on a wooden tray. They offer unlimited miso soup, rice and cabbage. The cabbage was surprisingly good because of the creamy miso dressing it came with. The katsu was all cooked to absolute perfection. He seriously couldn't stop talking about how good his chicken katsu was and how he didn't think it could be made that way. I took a bite and it really was melt in your mouth good. I called my mom, who lived in Japan for 7 years, directly after we finished this meal and told her that I would put money on the fact that if she came here, it'd be the best katsu she's ever eaten. Swear! Well worth the wait. On top of that, I'll mention that I love the aesthetic of this place. Super clean and modern looking inside. We were also seated at one of the booths, which I swear could've fit 10 people, but the 2 of us enjoyed it thoroughly!

My partner absolutely loves this place and makes it a point to eat here every time we're in town. We switch between the hire and rosu katsu but will never fail to get a side of the cheese katsu. The crispy-ness, flavor, and the even the rice are always on point. Also, I typically never eat the cabbage salads since they have no nutritional benefit, but something about that dressing just makes me eat it nonstop, lol. It's also refillable, which is dangerous for me. If you're a katsu fan, definitely make a stop here.

Saku is definitely one of my favourite restaurants to go to. My favourite is that they offer unlimited rice, soup, and salad refills. Love the dressing for their shredded cabbage salad! My go to order is either their Rosu Katsu, Cheese Katsu, or Ebi Hotate (shrimp & scallop) Katsu. Price has definitely increased since we last went. However, service was still great and portions are pretty big. Also, just love dining their because of the clean aesthetic of the restaurant. P.S. Try to go their early or join their waitlist so you can get a seat faster. They want the whole party to be there before they can seat you.

We stopped by for lunch during the weekday and the restaurant quickly filled up shortly after opening. We managed to get a table. Staff were efficient. We scanned the QR code and looked over their menu. Unfortunately, their sandwiches were not available at this time. We ordered a chicken thigh katsu curry and kake udon. Food arrived after a short wait. There was unlimited cabbage, rice and soup included in the katsu set. There was a salad dressing bottle at every table. Food was tasty and fresh. No complaints and every morsel was just so good. Our server stopped by to offer refills when she checked in on us. The katsu sets are a bit pricey for lunch, but you are paying for the unlimited rice, cabbage and miso soup.

Another favorite of mine when I visited Vancouver! The katsu was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. It was just the right amount of saltiness for me and paired really well with the sauce. The cheese katsu was my favorite! The salad was fresh and the dressing complement it well. The staff was friendly and was attentive throughout our meal. The ambiance was great too, but we didn't stay long as to be mindful of other people waiting in line.

HANDS DOWN BEST KATSU in the PNW area. I have had katsu in Japan, and I don't think anything will truly compare to that but this comes super super close! We had amazing service here, and the waiters were extremely attentive, constantly coming back to ask if we needed refills. Their menu offers a good variety of food but it is well organized so you don't end up in decision paralysis. I loved my katsu curry and I especially appreciated that they served the curry on the side for people (like me) who like to dip their katsu in the curry! Also, the interior and general ambiance is so cute and calming with decorative lamps and minimalistic decor. I also want to point out how clean it always seems to be. TDLR, the food is absolutely delicious, 10/10. Wish I could give an extra star!

Ruined me for katsu...run don't walk! You'll thank me later. Meat was cooked perfectly and apparently they offer a tomahawk steak katsu at times

I ordered the chicken thigh katsu and thought it was really good! The chicken was tender & the breading was crispy & flavorful. I liked both the katsu sauce and mustard that accompanied it. My friend ordered the tokujyo rosu katsu and I thought that one was also very good! If I were to come again I would probably hope to order this one and the chicken thigh katsu and split it so I can have half of the rosu katsu and half chicken thigh katsu. My other friend ordered the cheese katsu; I tried 1 piece and that was enough cheese katsu for me lol. It was kind of like a mozzarella stick, it needs more meat. It's yummy but I probably wouldn't want more than 1 piece. Overall the quality of the katsu & sides that come with the katsu sets make it pretty worth.

You'll love Saku if you're a fan of katsu! It's pretty much an all you can eat spot because you can get unlimited refills of rice and soup! Their katsu curry is amazing and I had so much curry sauce left over I ordered more rice to finish it up

Finally dropping a review here for Saku! I have been hearing about this place so much that I had to try it myself. On top of that, during the whole pandemic this place was a huge hype. And tbh, this place didn't reach up to the hype I wanted it to be... SIGH. First things first, I don't like going to a restaurant and hearing that a bunch of stuff on the menu is not available. I was kinda sad that a lot of the appetizers were gone for the day. It's like they don't make enough of them for everyone that come here. And thank god I put my name down early for this place through the Yelp App, or we would be waiting for more than an hour here for a table.... That line up was atrocious. From what I am seeing here, the service really doesn't match up to the hype either. The waitress was kinda condescending and rude to us. I can literally feel the glare and the judgmental look coming from you. I am literally just here to have dinner, please stop heavily glaring at me. This time around I had to get the Cheese Katsu. It is extremely cheesy and delicious. I loved how the cheese literally oozed right out from the katsu perfectly right onto my bowl of rice. Yes, their food is great but now I just think I should just get things for take out instead of coming here for the amount of judgement and the bad service. I was really hyped for this place, but it looks like I'll be nice and give them a 3 star instead.

My son said this was the best katsu he's ever had - and he's had a lot of katsu!! Great presentation, although a little pricy, but worth every bite!

Really enjoyed our experience at Saku. Reminded me of the efficiencies and style in Japan. Prior to arriving, I highly recommend leveraging Yelp's waitlist system so you can put your name down in advance. When we did this, we were able to time it just right and arrived to an available table. Each of our selection came with rice, a salad and miso soup. I was too full to refill but this is always an option for those who have a bigger appetite! Cheese Katsu -- 5/5, I really enjoyed this dish because the mozzarella replaced a bit of the protein in each piece. I preferred it this way as there was the perfect ratio of cheese:protein. Rosu Katsu -- 3.5/5, I think I'm biased because the cheese katsu was so good I didn't enjoy just solely meat in each piece. However, very nicely breaded and wasn't overdone. This was crucial. Ramune -- ordering this reminds me of being in Japan and being a child again. It's a fun touch and a very sweet drink.
