I took a single private room with shared bath during cherry blossom season. I had no issues with the stay. They had lots of events for visitors and were very English friendly. Price was reasonable, though book early for best prices. They have a restaurant downstairs that seemed nice, but I never ended up eating there. For the price, I think you might be able to find a room with private bath though. Great location to move around Tokyo. I love the Jimbocho area.

First of all , it’s hostel not a hotel !! Secondly , rooms in downstairs are not good. Humidity problem and noise level is high there. It’s better to double check which room you are going to stay in advance. So you can cancel etc. I don’t know source of noise but it was extremely annoying, feels like machines are working whole night even daytimes. So I didn’t have good sleep:/ and unfortunately it was my first accommodation in Japan. So I didn’t start very well . I just booked for 2 nights and I was planning to extend if it was good. Since it wasn’t good I just booked somewhere else nearby. So it was easy to move Location was good walkable to station. And nice food places nearby . Also near to the imperial palace and parks and museums. So nice location :) Staff are strict about checking time , I wait in the restaurant part.

I stayed here recently. While I myself didn't pay for a room, I checked the prices and referenced it with my experience and I would definitely call it worth it. The staff is super nice and the rooms were surprisingly clean! Some of the beds were a bit squeaky, but it didn't really bother me personally. Next time I go to this region of Japan I'd definitely try to stay here again.

Super friendly staff, clean rooms & showers and simple breakfast included! In a central location with good public transport connections. Walls are a little bit thin but very good value overall. Would definitely recommend and come back myself.

Reasonable price in TYO, stayed at 4bed female dorm that including breakfast and serve around 4am something although just bread and jam, coffee etc... but that was so good for some early check out guest. Staff also nice but that only allow check in 1pm but ok for keeping luggage here. Good choice if staying in TYO.

I had a fantastic stay here at Sakura Jimbocho! Shin at the front desk was kind and welcoming after our flight, and explained all the amenities and hostel rules upon our stay. Everything was super clean, organized, and well placed for foreigners new to the country. Thank you for welcoming us!!

Stayed in a dormitory. The hostel is located a couple of minutes away from the A1 exit of the Jimbocho subway station in the quieter end of Jimbocho. It has dormitories and private rooms available. There are laundry facilities, washing products in the showers and towel rental. You can leave your luggage before check in or after check out. The female domoritory has 6 beds each with a lot of head room, their own light and power outlet. The mattress was firm and pillow had a Japanese bead side. The heater temperature was set to 22° so on the upper bunk it was very warm. There is clothes hanging and large luggage space. The hostel has a 24 cafe with free tea and coffee for guests.

Stayed here for a night after just arriving in Japan, in a way they saved me from sleeping on the streets but it was OH so hard to contact them The service is just ok, they don't care that much about you, same goes for the room, kind of like a coffin but hey I paid for that, shower is amazing tho! I just wished the receptionists were more friendly instead of that 'just doing my job bruh' attitude

Yelp
Very conveniently located from the station. Very kind staff. The beds are comfy and the showers are VERY good. Free iced coffee in the morning as well as toast. The staff can help with your plans if you need.

Yelp
I must admit I didn't know I could YELP Japan, let alone YELP anywhere in Far East Asia! Anyway, I'm finally catching up with all my reviews I wanted to Yelp so, here's my first review for Japan: Sakura Hotel was an arduous feat arriving at Jimbocho District for so many, many reasons~First arriving at Narita Airport . . . Uh~oh-oh! Ooof! Everything's written in kanji or is that kana??? No English words telling me where to go??!! Nooo! Borragitta~I'm RUINED!!! First, learning how to speak Korean but, Dorothy, Dear~You're NOT in Seoul anymore!! NO Korean, Shirley, just Japanese only but, I only know how to say, Konnechewa, eeyay, merrokosend, domo arrigato, San-Shi . . . Oh-oh! I'm SO SCREWED NOW!! Ok~oh, yeah-I need to offload my extra luggage . . . I find an American asking where do I store my luggage and the American man told me to go downstairs to the left, paying like $22.00 USD for storing my luggage. Ahh-cool, thanks, Dude! "Yup~No problem! Oh, hey, offload as much luggage as possible because transportation is rough here!" Ahh-cool, thanks, Dude! After storing my luggage . . . I need to buy a train ticket: Uh~yeah~Konnecheewa~Uhm~Where do I buy a train ticket? "Eeyay!" Huh? What? Yah~San-Shi! Oeodi Metro Train? (I spoke in my broken Korean seeing if the person understood Korean-No such LUCK!!)! Person puts hands and arms up making an X gesture and walked away!! WHAT?? Mooo-YAH??!! Uhm ...( * ~ * ) Uhm-\('~_~')/-YAH~San-Shi!! Tuwajo, jusayyo, eh?? Borragitta!!! I screamed inside the airport underground hallway!! I finally found a Japanese Airline Hostess asking her where do I buy my train ticket and she said to follow her; waiting to buy a train ticket took forever because there was only one person at the train kiosk with fifteen people waiting, wanting to buy their train ticket! TWENTY minutes later: Oh-Oh-Oh~I need to go to Sakura Hotel-Here's the address . . . "I speak little Ing-grish. I give you map, I write in Japanese so, more Japanese citizens help you find Sakura, ok? Ok." Ticket in hand, go ride the "J" Train. Heads Up: Never, EVER ride ANY Metro Train with luggage because elevators and escalators are few and far between!! I ride the "J" Train to Shibuya Station lugging my suitcases, backpack, and augh~I'm sweating to death!! I'm carrying my luggage but, I need to get Japanese currency before heading to Sakura; a lady that looks exactly like Park Shin Hye, a Korean actress helps me find a bank in Shibuya District, I thank her, hop onto another train heading for Jimbocho. I'm at Jimbocho Station hoofing up SEVERAL flights of stairs-AUGH! Ok~Whoa-Uhm-Konnecheewa-Sakura Hotel? "Eeyay!" Yah-Tuwajo, jusayyo!!! Oh! The man is Korean! "Jusonghayyo!" Ahh-Quenchanayo! The Korean man tells me in KOREAN how to get to Sakura Hotel! HAH!! I finally arrived at Sakura Hotel sweating profusely from lugging my luggage and in my confusion, I'm mixing languages~Anneyeoung, Hassayyo, San-Shi-Konnecheewa, yah, my name is Shirley-whoa-I'm borragitta! I need a shower! My room? I'm on the fifth or was it third (?) floor, small, narrow room, the size of a laundry room, narrow twin bed. Uhm-This is where I'm staying? Uhm-\('~~')/-YAH!! Andwayyo!!! Ok~Konnechewa, Sakura!! Where's the shower? Oh-I guess I'll wear this robe~Oh! The shower is tiny but, clean. I finally feel coherent, go down to the reception area, ask for Internet access~ok, I'm finished with that, now, let's find a place to eat . . . SUSHI!!! Hey, WHY NOT? This is THE place where sushi derived~Right? Right!

Yelp
It's probably been a good 3 years since I last stayed in a hostel (and that last hostel happened to be in Osaka). Even though I usually stay in full-service hotels, I really enjoyed this hostel due to the combination of affordability, convenience, and friendly service. The hostel is located conveniently near the Jimbocho subway station (5 min walk) on a pretty quiet side street. There is plenty of dining and convenience store options nearby, and you really get a native Tokyo feel. It is pretty easy to find with a little cafe up front. Once you walk in, you find a small check-in counter to your right where the front desk staff is friendly and efficient in getting you to your room and answering your questions. The hostel is located close to the imperial palace, yasukuni shrine, and not too far from Tokyo Station / Ginza. I got a single private room with a tiny window (didn't really overlook anything) - enough space for 1 person to not feel claustrophobic but not much bigger than a prison cell. The shared sinks on the floor were clean and easy to use. The showers were comfortable though basic, and there were plenty of bathrooms on each floor. I never had to wait in the morning or at night.

Yelp
Sakura Hotel Jimbocho is more of a hostel than a hotel. They have a few other locations other than the Jimbocho one as well. This location is only a few blocks from the Jimbocho station! They also offer breakfast for a fee, and there's a cafe in the lobby. The front door is open 24/7, so you don't have to worry about curfew hours! I stayed in their small single room (shared bathroom), and boy was it small. I only stayed one night there, so it wasn't too bad. It was roomy enough for sleeping, and I'm sure it's better than most hostels (I've only experienced Japanese hostels, which apparently are way nicer). The room and facility seemed clean enough too. The only bummer was that the room lighting was dim, and although there was a large window.. the view was dark, since there was just a cement wall there. For the price, I think it was just okay. There's definitely cheaper, and better places to stay in Japan.

Yelp
Ideal lodging for flexible travelers on a budget. Hostel style amenities: clean, simple, and hassle-free. Rooms range in size. With some careful planning, small groups with even numbers can probably reserve/share a single room (bunk-beds). The staff is very accommodating and multilingual. We've heard them conversing with guests in Japanese, Spanish, English, and Chinese. The first floor has a quaint 24hr canteena with a diverse range of food and beverage options. Many international beer selection available. Location is practical for foot and/or public transportation travel around the city.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best places to stay if you're trying to save a buck (quid) in Tokyo. I am literally there oldest customer and have to say and all my many visits they helped me out very very much beyond expectation.
