This is one of the great initiatives of Thailand tourism. If you purchase a Royal palce ticket, you get this show complimentary. This is a hardly 15 mins show that depicts Ramayana... but the good part is this also shows Hanuman's past or previous years before meeting Rama. The way they have presented this all is visually very stunning, and music is top notch...composed by live artists. I recommend everyone who visits bangkok, they should visit and see this play/act.

Went for the free masked show which you get from the tickets of the grand palace. The show was decent. Worth a visit if you’re in the area. Its a nice cultural experience and the theatre is very nice. The show is a short 20-25 minutes show which is free.

There’s nothing more to say — this was a beautifully Thai production. The performance was based on the Ramakien and showcased Thai culture wonderfully. Interestingly, the majority of the audience were foreigners rather than Thai people. The play was in Thai, but English and Chinese subtitles were provided, which actually made the story easier to follow, especially since the Thai dialogue was written in poetic and classical language that can be hard to understand just by listening.

I didn't know its ticket was included in the grand palace ticket. Awesome show and highly educational about thai culture and history. Beat time is around 2pm . Show will start at 2:30 pm.

Gorgeous performance, beautiful to watch and listen to the music. Just 30 mins and included in your ticket for the palace so definitely recommend.

Khon show is included in the Grand Palace ticket. The Thai masked performance was great and the 25-min show was like a teaser. I wish the theater offers a longer show as there may be tourists who would want to see more of the story/culture

We went to a performance at the Royal theatre that was part of our Grand Royal Palace ticket price, I had no clue so it was a pleasant surprise. Got shuttled over and we were able to watch a free 30 minute play on a folklore tale of Rama I and it was pretty good. I didn't give it a 5 because it was part of our ticket price for another venue so I can't properly assess the value for someone coming in to just view the show, and the theatre concierges really didn't do a good job of ushering people. Literally had swathes of people sitting on the stairwell, the only stairwell to walk into the theatre and it was quite dangerous as I saw an old lady trip over tourists being selfish. Thank goodness someone caught her. Seating is comfortable for the show length. No great amenities inside but a cool experience nonetheless.

Refreshments are available as are toilets
