Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre

A truly captivating evening at the theater. From the moment I stepped in, the pristine environment set the perfect mood. The performance was a masterpiece—seeing the legendary battle between Phra Ram and Tosakanth up close was breathtaking. But what struck me most was the ethereal grace of the dancers; they didn't just walk, they glided as if floating on air. The intricate, shimmering Khon costumes under the grand finale lights were the perfect end to a magnificent show. Thai craftsmanship at its finest.

3 daily 25 minute shows (1pm, 2.30pm or 4pm) to give a taste of Thai dancing/pantomime. We got tickets on the day and then came back about 1/2 hour later to go in. Could sit wherever you like but would say you could see wherever you sit. No food or drink allowed in the theatre. Show was wonderful and highly recommended.

This is included when you purchase ticket for grand palace, the first show is 1pm,230pm ongoing, when you exit from the Grand Palace according to the flow, it has free shuttle bus ready at the exit around 11.50am onwards and the bus will take you back to grand palace after the theatre ended. We arrived the theatre around 1200pm, we walked and eat nearby since the show start at 1pm(we went back theatre at 1250pm). Recommend to sit on higher seats so you can read the subtitle on top of the stage, but actor will come around to the front seats (if you want closer look with them). Leave as soon as the show ends so you can take the first shuttle bus to prevent long queue for the shuttle bus afterwards to proceed your next journey smoothly is recommended but just the matter of wait time. The show itself is... So so for my personal opinion but it definitely worth check out if you have free time. Can tell the actors really put effort in their practise from some tiny body details

The performance at the Kong Theatre is truly beautiful, offering authentic Thai art and mythology brought to life. The best part? The show is included with your palace admission ticket, making it a perfect and captivating conclusion to your royal visit.

I watched Khon performance for the first time and I was really impressed. The staff were very kind, welcoming, and always smiling. The performers were so dedicated and truly professional. The ticket price was very reasonable. 🚗 Parking is available at The Old Siam. 🎭 There are 3 showtimes: 1PM, 2:30PM, and 4PM. I really recommend everyone to come and experience it!

Historic theatre with beautiful architecture and traditional Thai performances. The Khon dance show is impressive and well presented, offering great insight into Thai culture. The staff are welcoming, and the venue is well maintained. A worthwhile cultural experience in the heart of Bangkok.

After visiting the royal palace, an hour-long show included in the price of the entrance ticket, the story of the Kings told in about an hour of theatrical performance Thailand ❤️❤️

The theater has air conditioning the show was nice and not too long. Quite good to get a short view of theatre in other cultures. And last but not least it was for free including transfer from the grand palace (actually not free but included to the ticket of the grand palace)
