I usually snub "steak houses" in Portugal, given I've been disappointed so many times. So I went to Sala De Corte just as apprehensive - but it was featured on the World Of Mouth app and usually they feature decent restaurants. So my girlfriend and I gave it a chance. It was a Tuesday and busy, but relatively easy to book a table from lunch time - I suspect on the weekends you have to book at least a day before. We decided the sit on the counter to see the action... they have flaming grills to char the steaks, like many other steak houses - but they really know how to use it. I chose the 15 day aged T Bone steak, just because it had the best marbling from the steaks I could see on display. They mentioned that they always change the type of cows, which is super cool! I can't remember the breed, but when my char grilled medium rare steak appeared - it was heavenly tasty! Great flavour, good seasoning and very tender. The sides are nicely balanced in flavour too. Also the Buffalo Mozzarella as a starter was delicious. I definitely would eat here again. Thank you Sala de Corte!

Google
I had an incredible solo steak dinner here. The quality of the steak was top notch, sat at the bar and watched it get cooked to perfection, the staff were super attentive and knowledgeable. Everything you want in a quality steakhouse experience. No notes!

Here, I had the absolute best meat I have ever eaten. Not only was it tender and of the highest quality, but it was also grilled over a special herb-infused smoke, elevating it to an entirely new level. An absolute sensation—truly a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. The "risotto" was equally exquisite, steeped in red wine and truffle… we simply had to dine there twice.

Google
Really lovely place to eat out. The service was amazing, wine decent and gorgeous surroundings. The truffle mash potatoes were fantastic. So... why not 5 stars. It is expensive, and given that it should have been the best meal I ever ate in Lisbon, and it wasn't. The steak was a good piece of meat but cooked in such a way that it was still blue in the middle also the wine out of the comically large bottle was good but not earth shattering. An excellent evening and 4 stars feels tough but this is a place charging a lot for an evening.

Google
I have to say that I’ve have been in many meat places. But this lace is one of the best I have ever been. The place is not only good in the quality and quantity of the meat, but the service, the atmosphere and wines is espectacular. If you are meat lover you definitely need to come here. We ordered Lomo bajo, Chateaubriand. The cecina wagyu is amazing, the burrata very good and the deserts as pavlova one of a kind. Come and enjoy.

Google
This restaurant is an absolute gem with an inviting atmosphere. The cocktail selection was outstanding, with the *pisco sour* being a particular highlight. The service was impeccable, with staff going above and beyond to accommodate dietary restrictions, ensuring every detail was handled with care. *Cooked to perfection, each bite of T-bone and chuletón was bursting with rich, deep flavors, complemented by exquisite side dishes. To top it all off, the *pavlova* dessert was divine—light, crisp, and beautifully presented. A must-visit for any food lover.

Google
The experience surpassed our expectations here. It is not cheap, but the quality of the food, staff, and service is 5 star. From the friendly greeting on arrival to the payment of the bill, we felt a valued customer. We had a steak that was cooked to perfection and got to choose our steak before so you can have a slightly bigger one if you wanted. Ours was 550gr, which was more than enough. The starter was on point to. The sides with the steak we excellent too, the truffle mash especially. The deserts we equally tasty and large. You will not leave here hungry and will also have a quality meal. The wine list had a small selection of whites and rose but a large red selection, which is not a surprise as it is a steak based restaurant. I would recommend this place and return again. This was a nice treat for us, and not somewhere you dine daily.

Google
Was looking for a great steak restaurant near our hotel and totally found one! Loved the atmosphere and vibes of the restaurant. From being able to choose the cut of steak we want, to the yummy sides (get the fried mushrooms!!!) and the unique desserts (the hazelnut texture was divine), every menu item we ordered was perfect. They wine recommendations was also on spot. We would totally come back again and would recommend to anyone!

Yelp
I walked in without a reservation, eager to try it based on a recommendation, and it did not disappoint! The ambiance was inviting, with warm lighting and a vibrant atmosphere that buzzed with conversation--perfect for unwinding after a long day. I was greeted warmly and seated at the bar--my favorite spot. Within minutes, I had a glass of wine, and the server guided me through the menu with excellent recommendations. The best part? You can choose your steak cut right before ordering, adjusting it to your appetite. The staff, including the chef, were incredibly friendly and engaging, adding to the welcoming vibe. Pro tip: in Portugal, Medium Rare is more like Blue Rare, so ask for Medium if you want a true Medium Rare. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Sala de Corte is a top-tier steakhouse that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The staff hand-picked and presented our steak, which was not only tender but cooked to perfection. The truffle mashed potatoes were a standout side dish--creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The meal ended on a high note with a delicious cheesecake, and to our surprise, the restaurant treated us to a complimentary dessert with a beautiful presentation. This thoughtful gesture made the experience even more memorable. If you're looking for a great steakhouse, Sala de Corte is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Some of the best food I've ever had in my LIFE. Cooked to perfection, wine paired perfectly, and welcoming service. I walked away from the evening with a full belly and incredible memories!

Yelp
Dinner at Sala was truly a wonderful experience. It came recommended from the tour guide on our sailing tour. We were able to get seats at the bar quickly and had an up close view of the chefs seasoning and cooking the steaks, prepping vegetables and chatting amongst themselves. The restaurant is decorated in black and red and I personally loved the sleek and intimate vibe it gave off. Staff were very attentive from the hostess who sat us to our servers. The food was fantastic! Once our orders were placed, we were brought some small pre-dinner snacks. My friend was brought beef tartare in a baby cone and I had what was described as a mushroom falafel. Very good. As far as apps, started off with the Pata Negra Ham Flatbread. My friend had a steak which I was very jealous of. It smelled delicious. It didn't help seeing the chefs prepare and cook them which made it even more tempting. There are NOT alot of options for non-beef eaters but I made it work. My friend ordered shrimp as an accompaniment for the steak so I could have it. And it was enjoyable. As far as sides, I ordered the mixed grilled veggies and truffle fries. All of it made for a very good and filling meal. We also shared a bottle of wine recommended by their sommelier. We finished with desserts. I ordered a berry meringue with Gelato and my friend ordered a chocolate cake with Gelato. There are no complaints nor improvements needed here. I highly recommend a visit. And I will definitely return on my next trip to Lisbon!

Yelp
This was easily one of the better dining experiences I've had in my life. And it's certainly the best steak in Lisbon. If you're a foodie, this review won't shake the ground because the dishes I consumed didn't have all sorts of creative/exotic ingredients. But if you're looking for a steak - go to Sala. The price was reasonable; I spent 145€ on 2 drinks (one of which was an excellent wine), an appetizer with shaved truffle, large steak and two sides. The ambiance was very cool; i got there at the right time (730pm) because after 8pm this place gets busy. And the service was IMPECCABLE. I had no less than 3 people checking on me at any time, and that is something I'm a HUGE fan of at fine dining restaurants. Now on to the food... The beef carpaccio was good, but the shaved truffle took it over the top. Great flavor and portion size. The lomo bajo steak is the equivalent of a NY strip, and it was delicious (and I loved that it was served chopped up on the wooden plank... Big fan of that aesthetic.) The truffle mash and spinach were equally stellar; there was not one thing I tried which I didn't enjoy. Highly recommend if you're a steak eater looking for a fine dining experience.

Yelp
Excellent meal, excellent service and an absolutely incredible steak. We got the Ribeye for 2- and could not be happier. We were really full and rarely get dessert, since it was my birthday the waiter recommended a caramel popcorn dessert. I would have never ordered it, I'm so glad he encouraged us. It may have been the single best thing I've eaten in 10 days, and again-- I'm not really a dessert person. Save room, the pastry chef here is a superstar!

Yelp
The menu is delicious and has great options for vegetarians as well! 10/10 Highly recommend.

Yelp
For consecutive years, Sala de Corte has been considered one of the best 101 steak houses in world (https://www.worldbeststeaks.com/). And deservedly so! For our appetizer, we started with the Beef Cecina, which is dried beef. It was like pata negra ham, but beef instead of pork. Amazing! For our main course, we ordered the Entrecôte, the Tenderloin, and the Roasted Cauliflower. All three were excellent. The steak was very flavorful, juicy, and tender. And the roaster cauliflower was the best we've ever tried. Now I must say... the dessert was splendid. Do not miss the Berry Pavlova! Possibly the best dessert we've ever had! The service was impeccable and the ambience quite pleasant. If you're is Lisbon, Sala de Corte is a must!

Yelp
Best meal we had during our trip to Portugal. It was so good that we went back again the next day. I found this place on Yelp toward the end of our 2 week trip and by this time i was sick of seafood and just wanted some steak like back home (Chicago) and this place did not disappoint. Both times we started with caviar and the first time we tried a steak on special (pricier) and the second time we did the ribeye. The special was amazing and the ribeye was very good. The service was fine and not speaking Portuguese wasn't a problem at all. Dinner gets busy so you will probably end up waiting a bit before you get served but they give you a little amuse bouche so that helps. The price including drinks was ~$275-325 which is pricey, esp for Portugal, but that's including caviar so really the price for a steak dinner wouldn't be unreasonable. If your in Lisbon, def check this place out!

Yelp
Much anticipated reservation at this place! We checked in at our reservation time and they had our seat set up for us already. Restaurant is upscale and beautiful. We were given the food menu but no drink menu at first. We eventually got the drink and wine menu. We both got two glasses of really good red wine. We both ended up getting the encoute cut. I got mine medium rare while my friend got her medium cook. I got Paris butter and my friend got the bernaise sauce to go with our steaks. For sides we got the truffle mash and sausage dirty rice. Before we got our meals we got a little cone of beef tartar which was delicious we saw other tables get this for free before their meal and when they get their checks they get alittle dessert too! Steaks were amazing. One of the best steaks I've ever had. Juicy, seasoned well (doesn't need sauce but ofcourse I added my butter). Truffle mash was the right amount of truffle. The sausage rice was a dirty rice with a hint of spice. We enjoyed our meals and wines immensely. At the end we asked for the check. We got our checks but didn't get the little tarts like the surrounding tables got which I thought was strange? Why would the other tables get the complementary item with their checks and we didn't? Very strange. Overall good steak dinner!

Yelp
It was our last night in Lisboa and we were looking for a special place to have dinner. Sala de Corte more than fit the bill. The staff and service were amazing. The food was delicious! A little pricey but definitely worth it!

Yelp
FIVE STARS! I just had my last bite and I already miss it I tried the Beef loin Carpaccio starter, beef tenderloin (much smaller than expected) and truffle mashed potatoes. Everything was truest so wonderful. My boyfriend and I shared- we had room for maybe one more side, but left feeling good. I meant to take a photo of our food but instead here's a pic of what was left hehe

Yelp
Pricey loud typical cavernous with an attempt at elegance steakhouse. We got 2 specials of the day 85 day aged chuleton to share for a party of five. Meat delicious and cooked perfect temp but way too much fat /gristle for this price point. Strangely although cooked on fire in the middle of restaurant no taste of the grill.Service good. Appetizers unexciting and unimaginative .Sides limited and small. Dessert list even less creative than appetizers . I wouldn't come back because at this price point I expect flawless steak and a little more creativity with everything else on the menu. My sister was told by a chef this is the best place in Lisbon for a steak . If so, I guess no more steak for me in Lisbon!

Samantha S.

Yelp
Surprisingly disappointed. My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here and ordered the Wagyu steak which by the way cost us $250 for a steak. I can honestly say that 30% of the steak was fat. It was not the Wagyu steak that I have known and eaten in the past. be careful, I should have been more assertive and I wasn't.

Yelp
Sala de Corte was a recommendation from a friend of mine while I was in Lisbon. Reservations were easy to make (and highly encouraged!) and as soon as I stepped foot inside I felt welcomed and luxurious. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It was the best service we had our entire trip. The steaks were perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the cocktails were even better! Perfect meal.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the ambiance was great, and the service was exceptional. We had chuleton steak with garlic mashed potatoes and mushrooms, burrata, and delicious wine. It was a 1996 Cabernet and I can't remember the name of it. Our server recommended it, and he was awesome. The mushrooms that we ordered with the steak were the best I have ever had. This place was very good and we are eating seafood for the rest of the trip so it was nice to have amazing steak. If I find myself back in Lisbon(which I hope to) I will be back here and that says a lot since I don't like to repeat restaurants!

Yelp
This is the best steak my wife and I have ever had. I've tried all the popular spots in NYC and Philadelphia (Keens, Peter Lugers, quality meats, catch steak, Wolfgang puck, Alpen rose, del friscos..etc) and this steak is the best. T bone steak, 15 day dry aged with the additional shrimp and sauce, medium rare. Wine, Sides and dessert were also excellent. Price was very fair. Service was friendly, but the waiters were also quite spacey. Overall, a stylish spot with very high quality food.
google avatar

Delilah D.

Yelp
If you like a steak that's 80% fat, you will love it. We had 4 solid slices of actual meat, the rest of this €155 steak was all fat. Leaving hungry.

Yelp
This place was magnificent!!! The atmosphere and the service was the greatest.... And I could keep going about the food it was the best... I came with a large group of people not one person had a complaint I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Yelp
Excellent steakhouse dinner. We've eaten at many of the best in Texas and New York and this was right up there or better with the best of them. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was perfect for an upscale dinner. Highly recommend to any carnivores visiting Lisbon!

Yelp
Had a late lunch here with friends last month while in Lisbon. The meat options were amazing, and our selections were presented to us prior to being prepared. Every entree was perfect and the service was excellent. Plenty to do and see in the area before or after your meal!

Yelp
We stumbled across this great restaurant not knowing you needed reservations. When I asked they offered us seat at the bar and that was a blessing! We were not disappointed, not only was the food top notch, we also got the see the chef and sous chef's in action! What an added treat! EVERYTHING we had was mouthwatering and scrumptious!!! Best meal in Portugal by far!!!

Yelp
There's a reason Sala de Corte is on the list of top steakhouses in the world. Not just good food but great service as well.

Yelp
Very trendy and happening in the district of Bairro Alto where you have a wide variety of amazing restaurants to pick from. Bairro Alto is one the trendiest districts In Lisbon because of the wide variety of modern contemporary restaurants. The restaurant itself has a very Art Deco feel and packed so you would need a reservation. The service can be real slow depending on how packed the restaurant is. We got the steak Enterecote, which was nice crisp and a healthy mix of fat. The roasted cauliflower and the asparagus concoction were delish. The burrata will always be a classic hit. It's a fun evening, great ambience and good food. I can't say the food was amazing in the sense that I would come back again but it hit all the right spots. The decor and ambience which these pictures don't do Justice. I read some of the views below and I think it's a bit unfair. Having loved steaks and tasted some delish ones in Japan and Australia. I have to tell you I've never been able to justify a 150$ steak ever. The enterocote that we ordered was 36 euro and it hit the spot. Service can be slow because I literally felt like there were two servers for the entire restaurant. The average diner was there for 2 hours. This is Lisbon not New York City. Take a chill, relax and enjoy the good food and don't spend 155$ on a steak and expect to get an orgasm.

Yelp
First time in Portugal and I'd like to give this place more stars but the service was trash. the food was ok to be honest but I'm a service person overall. This Restarant looks lovely on the inside as far as ambiance. Was told about the special steak of the night and we decided to order it. The waiter came back and told us it was sold out. Then another table next to us came in and the same waiter brought them over several steaks to choose from and the one they said was sold out. Weird. Also, the manager I'm assuming because he was the only one wearing a full suit, kept serving everyone else water and wine but never came over once to check on us and out water glasses were empty. Horrible selections service. One star for ambiance and ok food.

Yelp
This place is a must come to when in Lisbon. We had seen and been recommended this place by many people so we had to come try it out. The ambience and decor inside was beautiful. The food and service were absolutely impeccable. The picanha steak which I got cooked medium was absolutely delicious. The mashed potatoes were just as good. We also were served complimentary tartare which was delicious as well. Great place to come either for a date night or even with a group of people. You have different choices for the sauces for your steak and also can even choose a cheese sauce or garlic herb butter. Absolutely wonderful place.

Yelp
Those dry aged beef! * * * EXPERIENCE * * * Made a 9pm reservation on a Saturday night - man the restaurant was packed full of people! We were seated at a small table near the entrance. Our server patiently explained to us the different beef options. Sommelier was knowledgeable and recommended a nice Portuguese bold wine which we really enjoyed. * * * FOOD * * * Beef Tartare: A Restaurant gave us this for free! The beef tartare was very taste, added some mayo and sour sauce, in a cute little ice-cream cone. Would't think I would use the word refreshing to describe such a dish but yes it was that! Galician Chuleton: A We were shown the raw beef before they cooked it for us. It's huge! It was perfect medium rare, they used wooden fire oven and the meat juice was still captured inside the meat, the amount of fat was just about right. Sharp contrast between the grilled skin and the fat was right underneath. The amount of redness in the middle was perfect. The side dishes were very nice too, out of those I liked the grilled vegetables the most, perhaps it balanced out the meatiness from the main dish. Honestly, this place is really good but it would be a lie to say this is the best steak house I have ever been to. But in the Lisbon seafood-driven food scene, a hippy steak restaurant serving wonderful food is definitely appreciated. Make sure you get a reservation before your trip!

Yelp
We came here for my husbands birthday and the service was impeccable. The staff was beyond attentive and super informative. We had the steak with the additional surf and turf which is basically a big shrimp. The beef carpaccio with comes with greens and Parmesan is so delicious highly recommend. The desserts were also delicious, the strawberry pavlova paired with the sorbet is a must as well. I will for sure come back here while on our trip.

Yelp
When I think about my meal here, a single tear runs down my face. It's seriously that good. The service was exceptional and the server was extremely helpful in guiding us toward the perfect meal. I don't know what was more impressive: the phenomenal beef loin carpaccio with truffle oil, pistachios, and parmesan; the beautiful cuts of steak, from the aged entrecôte to the chateaubriand; or the dessert: berry pavlova, heavenly chocolate mousse, and pineapple with charcoal ice cream. Every bite was an experience in and of itself. We also ordered two fantastic Portuguese wines to go with the meal and some Port wine after dessert. You cannot leave Lisbon without having a meal here--unforgettable!

Yelp
Our visit to Sala de Corte was without question one of the more memorable dining experiences I've had in Lisbon! We decided on this restaurant spontaneously and went without a reservation; we were seated at the bar with only a minimal wait. Tip: In many restaurants bar seating isn't optimal - here the seats at the bar are the best to be had! This is because when you sit at the bar all the food is cooked and plated right in front of you :-) The bar we were seated at looks like a typical bar, but it's not - all the food preparation for the entire restaurant is done in the area that's normally occupied by the bartenders in back of the bar. The cooks and the Chef performed their food preperations flawlessly, almost like it was a Cirque du Soleil performance - it couldn't have been more entertaining! All the food and drinks we tried were exceptional, the service was impeccable, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable given the quality of both the food and the overall dining experience.
google avatar

Andressa S.

Yelp
Great food and outstanding service. You can pick what type of cut you prefer with the help of the servers depending on your taste. You select the weight and enjoy probably the best steak that I had in my life. Dessert was a love affair, my favorite was the chocolate mousse.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted to end our Portugal trip with a bang and this restaurant blew our minds!!! We love a good steak and have traveled across the world to try the best; from Japanese A5 Wagyu to Las Vegas Ribeye, we've had it all. So, when reviewers boasted this place having the best steak, we knew we HAD to go!! The whole restaurant experience was phenomenal, and we were not prepared for how luxurious it all was. The meal started off with a small serving of steak tartar in what looked like an ice cream cone. My husband and I were apprehensive because we didn't order it and we were afraid we would have to pay for it but we dug in anyway! It was amazing!!! And free!! We then got our appetizer which were beef croquettes and they tasted pretty similar to what we have tried before. Finally, we got our steak. We ordered a T Bone to share (.980 grams= €76.44 they bring it out to you raw to make sure it is to your liking) along with fries, mashed potatoes, and beans with rice and chorizo for a side. With the steak you also could choose a number of sides, we choose chimmichurri, garlic herb butter, and a peppercorn sauce. Oh man, when I tell you we devoured the meal I am not over exaggerating!!! The T Bone steak is aged over time and it is was cooked to a perfect medium rare. You could cut into it like butter and exploring the various tastes from the sauces made it a pleasurable experience. Once finished, they gave us a tiny white chocolate lemon/lime ball to cleanse our pallete and it was like an explosion in your mouth (like eating pop rocks)!!! It was pretty fun!! Then we closed the meal with some coffee and called it a night. In all, a phenomenal experience and one I would relive over and over again!!! If you find yourself in the area it is a MUST!!!!

Yelp
My friend recommend me to try this steakhouse while I'm in Lisbon, and boy am I impressed! The beef carpaccio was one of the best I ever had and the steak was perfectly cooked and marinated. I wish I wasn't traveling solo so I could order the huge bone in rib eye. Anyhow the cut I order was still very good. I can tell they take every detail seriously, the chef himself checks everything. I recommend making reservations, they well full on a Thursday night but luckily the bar had open seating. Service is great and very professional, I would definitely recommend and be back if I'm back the area.

Eri H.

Yelp
Delicious food, you can pick your steak, sides were really good and good portions. I loved the ambiance, and wine.

Yelp
The best meal we had in Lisbon; maybe the best steak I ever had! Reasonably priced, chill vibe, great service. 2 steaks, bottle of wine, 4 sides, dessert = $90euro
google avatar

Yelp
As a native Texan, this is a great place for steaks and a real good cost too. The truffle garlic mashed potatoes get the "lifechanging" seal and their service is great. We didn't have reservations but they let us in anyways. They have a wine expert on staff and recommend this place to anyone that wants a good steak.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here as it was recommended to my friend but I was very dissatisfied in the food and the service. First, to make a reservation online they needed a credit card (which was weird to me but w.e) we did it and we had our reservation set. We showed up 10 minutes early and there was no one there to greet us. 15mins later a server finally approached the front and greeted us, we told her we had a reservation and she said we weren't ready and had to wait. What's the point of a reservation if you can't even honor it? Whatever, we waited and another 15mins later we were sat. Right by a plant, that probably hadn't been dusted in months- that's how dirty it was. But my friend really wanted to eat there so I just sat down and didn't complain. We then had to wait AGAIN for someone to come to our table to greet us and give us the wine menu- which she insisted it would be better if someone who was an "expert" picked for us. So we let him pick the wine, which was terrible in my opinion, really think they just want to up sell stuff here. By this point I was over it. We ordered our food, the steak was mediocre, not a good cut, not a good taste, not a good sauce. Just nothing. The only thing good about it was the little tomatoes on the side. Then my friend wants to order dessert (bc again his friend recommended some type of dessert there) and even that was terrible. Honestly just an overpriced and terrible experience all around (the pics look so cute and yummy but it was actually gross all around)

Adriana B.

Yelp
Really nice experience, specially if you sit next to the cooking area. The food is amazing, amazing steak, they give you a ticket of how much your steak weight. Also side the sides are very unique in flavors, we order the fries , mash potato, fried mushrooms ( amazing if you love mushrooms) and the creamed spinach which it had a very spinach taste. Totally recommend is you love steak! will come bac

Dan F.

Yelp
Went to Sala with a party of seven. They recommended their largest steak to feed all of us with various sides. It was more then enough food, reasonably priced and one of the best steaks we all had! Highly recommend in terms of food, service, and atmosphere!
google avatar

Eunmee L.

Yelp
Best damn steak house I've ever been to. The sides are hands down the best. The steaks are juicy and cooked to perfection. We ordered every side just to try it along with 2 huge steaks and we ate it all!!!!!! Sooooo good!!! Told all our friends and family bout it. I can't wait to come back and visit again. We came over the summer it was closed, will be back!

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Lisbon. The food is delicious, well presented and the service is excellent. This was my first time there after receiving several recommendations. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Simply amazing, the food out of this world, the service wonderful, atmosphere relaxing and conducive to the caliber of the me.
