Super enjoyable place for drinks and snacks! In the first floor there’s always a movie going on and different seats, we went with friends and it’s very comfy to catch up! In the second floor they have Cocktails, super top!!!

If you are looking for an aesthetic solution for a Thursday or Friday evening this is it. The place is really cool in general ( there’s a black and white movie being projected at the top, beach chairs, popcorn) and there is even another bar in the second floor that is more quiet. The food and drinks are a bit pricey in my opinion but it is still worth to go.

Super unique place! Drinks are good, and love the popcorns for snacks (right on theme!)… and the staff were really friendly! The overall setup is charming while crowded and vibrant (not the place to have a quiet conversation over drinks, but definitely the place to have a few drinks, mingle and listen to good music!). Definitely coming back again soon!

This place is so pretty, I love the concept of the old cinema and how they keep the vibes of it. You can still sit in rows and see a theoretical movie (they actually sowed a really old black and white movie, super fun). The drinks were basic but very good. A classic vino and pivo is always welcomed.

Sala Equis is not your average movie theater it’s a hidden gem in Madrid that turns watching a film into a full cultural experience. Once an old adult cinema yes, really..! it has been transformed into a stylish and authentic venue that sparks curiosity from the moment you step inside. With comfy lounge chairs, delicious food, craft cocktails, and a big movie screen surrounded by plants and velvet curtains, it’s like a cinema had a baby with a hipster bar. This place is more than just a movie night it’s a social event. Locals and tourists gather not only to watch indie films and classics, but also to chill, chat, and sometimes wonder, “Am I at the movies or in someone’s very cool living room?” Whether you’re a film lover or just looking for a quirky place to relax in Madrid, Sala Equis is a must-see spot full of surprises. (:

Super funky converted old erotic movies cinema complex. They still have the layout like a cinema but now it is a really cool and hip bar with good music and a retro vibe. Lots of people kicking back on the chairs drinking and chatting.

Sala Equis – From X-Rated Cinema to One of Madrid’s Coolest Spots Once an adult movie theater (formerly Cine Alba), Sala Equis has undergone a total transformation into one of Madrid’s trendiest cultural hubs. Located in La Latina, it still keeps a nod to its risqué past with its name, but now it’s all about indie films, live events, and a buzzing social scene. The space is a cinema, bar, and lounge all in one, featuring cozy seating, dim lighting, and a laid-back, artsy vibe. Imagine sipping a craft beer or a cocktail while lounging on a giant cushion under neon lights—yes, that’s the kind of atmosphere we’re talking about. The programming is a mix of cult classics, indie gems, and special screenings, making it a paradise for movie lovers. Fun fact: Some remnants of its past life remain—if you look closely, you might spot some of the original decor from its adult cinema days. But don’t worry, the only thing X-rated now is how extra cool this place is. Whether you’re here for a film, a drink, or just to soak up the vibe, Sala Equis is a must-visit for anyone looking for something different in Madrid.

Yelp
This use to be a adult cinema and is now interesting space to hang out, we went early and it was not crowded. But it does get extremely crowded.

Yelp
As a bar this place is great. Sadly we went to go see a movie and it wasn't until later that we realized that the movie theater is upstairs. The vibes were great, you should however get there early if you want to get seats for the bar area it gets really busy.

Yelp
This is such a cool spot for drinks! It's a bit loud inside but otherwise very fun and cool ambiance. You order drinks up at the front under the movie screen and bring them back to your seats. They didn't seem to serve food other than popcorn. Definitely a unique spot to stop for a drink or two. It's really beauty during the day with the sun coming in through the skylight.

Yelp
This used to be ~adult movie~ theatre has been converted into a trendy place to hang out and have a drink. The vibe is young, casual, playful, and energetic. There is plenty of space to sit; however, you still might find yourself having a hard time to find a table because of how packed this packed gets. What I ordered: I got a tinto de verano. You order at the counter. The hace many food options as week, but we were only there for a drink. On a Thursday night almost all the seats were full. Luckily we snags a couch, although, some people in our party had to sit on the ground. The prices of food and drink are moderate. They play old Hollywood movies, but the emphasis here is on the food and drinks. This is a very unique spot! I will be sure to take friends and family here when they come to visit!
