"For an intimate stay amid Chiang Mai’s mega-resorts, look no further than Sala Lanna. The boutique hotel’s 16 rooms are spare but clean, with free Wi-Fi and low-key comforts like plush bathrobes and iPod docking stations. On-site laundry facilities make it an easy choice for families and guests who want to spend their time exploring Chiang Mai’s hidden corners by bicycle—a tour that can be arranged by the hotel concierge. Of course, no one would fault you if your big plans included nothing more than taking in the Mae Ping River views from the rooftop swimming pool and bar."

Right next to the Ping river, it's a cozy and calm resort with many amenities. In a quite area of town but is only a stones throw from the weekend flower market across the footpath bridge. Staff are helpful, the service is impeccable and the rooms are very tidy. The quality of the rooms is good as there is a terrace to enjoy the Chiang Mai's breeze.

I stayed here only for one night and wished it were longer.||The room I had was basic but the bed was very comfortable and clean.||The thai food at the restaurant was exceptionally good. When I mean good it is excellent. Well staffed and attentive too. At night the area is very quaint to dine and has a lovely ambiance. ||Also the rooftop bar is sadly underrated. With the sunset views of the mountain and overlooking the river I was surprised it didn’t attract more visitors. The fact it has a pool up there too makes it better. ||I will certainly be back again.

The hotel is fabulous - located right by the central market area, with numerous restaurants nearby, and the rooms are excellent. The pool on the roof was ours alone for the entire stay, as we didn't see anyone else up there! The front-of-house staff were fabulous - helping with food orders, day trips, and directions. Again, thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Your team made the holiday for us. Thank you Kelly, Laura and Brooke

Just wanted to pop in to say “ thank you for wonderful stay “ Very relaxing morning last day before leaving Chiang Mai. I highly recommend breakfast here it was spot on. We stayed in Standard room it was perfect 1 night stay, bed was super comfortable and we had a good night sleep. If I go back to Chiang Mai I would stay a bit longer and probably stay in the room with balcony and river view.

Sala’s signature quiet laid back chic is what Sala Lanna is all about. It’s a small property thankfully minus glitz and gimmicks. Public areas are moody and sexy, rooms are clean with comfy beds, good sized bathrooms and great internet. The swimming pool by the river had no loungers, maybe because of the weather. The roof top pool was closed for repairs and the rooftop barman was closed because of wet weather which meant drinks had to be in your room or the small foyer-no vibes. Breakfast is a la carte with limited but tasty options. Location worked for us, just outside the busy Old Town but close to the markets. Everything feels just a little tired but we would go back and can recommend as a terrific value for money stay.

Sala Lanna Chiang Mai offers a cozy space near the old town and Ping River . ||Highlights: ||1.Food & Desserts. I especially enjoyed the delicious desserts, breakfast, and dinner options from Wanlamun.||2.Dining with Ping River ‘s view: Booking can be done with hotel. ||3.Free parking in front of hotel.||4. Convenient location near temples, old town, cafe. ||||What to consider: ||1.Like others, the room condition felt a bit outdated. The bedding is pretty good, by the way.||2. With 4 stars, staffs should be more productive. Everything is completed but I need to always ask for the service.||3. Spa could benefit from some upgrades to elevate the premium experience.||||Swimming pool - yes||Spa - yes but limited room||Rooftop bar -yes||Free parking - yes.

We stayed in two different hotels in Chiang Mai. Sala Lanna being right in front of the river gives a very cozy ambiance should be a part of the CM experience. ||My favourites are the terrace and the restaurants. My friends love the thai dinner at the red though breakfast has nothing to write home about. ||A number of great restaurants and unique shops in the neighborhood. Just a few steps from the footbridge crossing the river.
