13 Best Hotels in Phuket, Thailand

"Homegrown hotels generally play second fiddle to the big-brand-name digs on Phuket, but Sala Phuket is a notable exception. Don’t let its location near the airport turn you off—noise from planes is minimal, and the wonderfully deserted Mai Khao beach on its doorstep is one of the island's prettiest. There are a handful of balcony suites, but the pool villas are the ones to book. Each is a white-washed sanctuary accentuated by shades of taupe, grey, and Portuguese-tiled, open-air bathrooms that reference the island’s trade history. The SALA Spa has a great reputation, as does the restaurant—order the fragrant beef-cheek curry with mushrooms and betel leaves." - Chris Schalkx

Sure! Here's a positive and nice feedback regarding a resort: --- I recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful resort, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The customer service was outstanding; every staff member I encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to ensure that my stay was as comfortable as possible. The warm and inviting vibes of the resort made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The villa I stayed in was nothing short of spectacular. It was spacious, impeccably clean, and tastefully decorated, providing a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. The food was another highlight of my stay – every meal was a culinary delight, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. Finally, the beach was absolutely breathtaking. The pristine sands and crystal-clear waters provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and adventure alike. Whether lounging by the water or exploring the many activities offered, I found the beach to be a true paradise. Overall, my experience at this resort was unforgettable, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway.

This hotel is sublime. We have travelled a lot all over the world for work and leisure but this hotel is just wonderful. We are staying here right now and have been wowed at every corner. Bespoke scents, pillows, soaps - perfect little touches. Prosecco and little meat and cheese platter when you arrive. We are in a two bedroom suite with 2 teenagers and it is absolutely perfect - we have turned our lounge into the third bedroom and so everybody has their own space. The staff are so accommodating and make Sala one of the best hotels we have stayed at. There is a natural|Charm and sophistication with calm surroundings, thoughtful touches and a generous spirit. A honeymoon paradise and a perfect family getaway!

We stayed for 9 nights celebrating my husbands birthday & our 10 year wedding anniversary. We were made to feel very special from the outset starting at check in where we were greeted with cold towels / drinks & a flower corsage. You also select your pillows, scent of villa & toiletries which was a fabulous touch.||The pool villa felt very decadent & we loved the privacy this offered. Although maybe not for everyone we loved the outdoor bathroom, this concept was very different. So beautiful on an evening to bathe under the chandelier in the dark. The bed was so very comfortable, air con perfect, robes & slippers, coffee machine & unlimited bottled water all there , with an app also if you needed anything at all, including room service.|Our housekeeper (Bumbin) was truly amazing, frequently changing linen & ensuring everything was just perfect. I particularly liked evening turndown where the oil burner would be lit (smelt like a spa) & you received different flavoured teas with explanation of the benefits (another amazing little touch).||The food was all spectacular, we loved the al a carte breakfast choices, especially the poached eggs & coconut porridge. We ate in the restaurant a number of times also, beautiful setting. Tony the executive chef will now be a friend for life, what an amazing gent! In fact all the staff here really went above & beyond, a special mention for Erick also & all the lovely ladies at reception!||The beach is just wow & you would never be sick of that view. Especially with the various happy hours that run throughout the day.|We used the main pool on the last day & this was also spectacular, really comfy sunbeds (plenty of them) & the bar man was always coming round with complimentary water, juices etc.||We had a massage in the spa & this was probably the best massage I have ever had (ice was my therapist) .|We took the free shuttle to turtle village a number of times on an evening & enjoyed it here too, but the absolute must local restaurant in mai khao was Kin Dee (reception got us a taxi who insisted to wait for us rather than return) it was absolutely amazing here & we returned twice more during our stay.|Overall super chilled out & just what we wanted & needed, so much so I’ve rebooked for next year!

Staff services anywhere on the property, from reception to restaurant to spa to room cleaning is one of the major asset on top of the highest quality of premises. Architecture is a good blend of modern art and offers an excellent mix with nature. Pools are splendid and close to sea. Breakfast is abundant and good, best choice of bread you can find I am sure. Lunch and dinner is also top quality and offers a wide choice. Prices are equal to quality and overall affordable. Got a pool room, not a pool villa, pool is big enough to swim and offers a relaxation area that is very confortable. If you go for a massage, choose Khun Pim, she also hold yoga classes that worths a try! I will certainly book again at my next trip here! |Thanks SALA for making my life better!

If you’re looking for a private, romantic stay, this is the place for you. The pool villas are absolutely stunning and the grounds of the resort are so well kept. We were greeted with a welcome drink and received smiles and kindness from the staff throughout our whole stay. The attention to detail at Sala is exceptional, with a turndown service, a different tea brought to the room every evening, and an app where you can access anything you want 24 hours a day. Upon arrival, we got to choose the scent of soap in our villa, the type of pillow that we wanted, and the scent of body lotion too - a personalised touch which I haven’t seen anywhere else. The food at the restaurant was incredible too, with healthy and naughty options, served in a beautiful outdoor setting. (The food was so good that I went back for lunch 3 weeks later when staying somewhere else in Phuket). Our villa was super private and quiet, and had all the amenities that we needed. The resort also has their own farm, where they grow a lot of the produce for the restaurant and create sustainable products like soap and insect repellent which are available in the room.||Thank you so much Sala! We loved our stay with you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had the pleasure of staying here for our family's first trip together to Thailand and although our expectations were high, they were met in every way possible. The Duplex pool villa was perfect for a family of 4; really spacious, plenty of storage, cool and tranquil. The quality of the food offering was high, breakfast was delicious and the few meals we had at night were really good and reasonably priced if you consider what you'd pay in Europe. There is a complimentary shuttle to Turtle Village and some little restaurants by the beach if you want to venture out locally. We had one treatment at the Spa which was amazing and the little massage hut next to the main pool on the beach was fantastic value for money. The shared pool areas were stunning; well maintained, never a shortage of sunbeds and very attentive staff who would always keep you refreshed with iced water and a morning smoothie. The staff everywhere were delightful, my 10 year old observed on the second day that 'they just want to make us happy don't they'. They really did, they couldn't do more for you and were so gentle and calm. There were plenty of low key activities on offer for adults and children in the resort for anybody interested and the Yoga and kids' boxing was wonderful. Also great, low key evening entertainment which was inkeeping with the beauty and general vibe of the resort. Service was sometimes a bit slow, particulalry at breakfast but it did not matter at all as the whole resort is so relaxed and so chilled, anybody super bothered by a bit of a wait for anything, probably wouldn't appreciate the relaxed nature of the resort anyway. I've honestly never enjoyed a family holiday more than this. If you combine some relaxing days by the pool/beautiful peaceful beach, with days out sightseeing and taking part in activities, you just can't go wrong. Thank you to all at Sala Mai Khao who made our holiday one that we will treasure forever. I'm so glad we chose you and I hope we getthe opportunity to stay with Sala again.

Location - secluded ||Resort overall - a bit rundown, need refurbishment ||Villa - layout of the villa not so convenient. The shower and wc area is outside the bedroom. They are in the 2 different annex. Shower area is open air. If rain, you got to shower inside the bathtub. If couple may be alright but for friends no privacy|Dressing area is a step down and the villa lighting is quite dim, not so friendly user for old age and children|Lighting design weird… the existing lighting is not bright enough at night. I guess due to this, they add in 2 spot lights in the ceiling. Imagine if 2 spot lights turn on(^0*) so the villa become conference room|Mosquito attack from the minutes we walked in our villa. How about mosquito reparent when you shower? ||Cleanliness - The aircond location is so wrong; it tuck at a corner and its blow direct to the bed. The remote not working so I step up to the sofa try to adjust the fan swing direction, guess what - it is so so so dusty and dirty. It’s like the aircond has been there working so hard but no cleaning…|By the way, a panty found in the drawer as well|The tiles in the open area in the shower annex is not clean thoroughly. Dirt marks all around. So do the shower curtain|Staff - we book airport pick up but once we reached gate2(as per instruction), no one waiting there nor any sign board stating Sala Phuket . We finally get another resort help us call them and they said driver is on the way… |We reached resort around 11am, we were hungry and tired as we were departing from Tokyo previous night, transit from Kuala Lumpur, reached the resort around 11+am. So we go straight to the restaurent immediately after our quick check in. What welcome us is a sour face lady informing the buffet breakfast was almost close, the kitchen is not ready for early lunch order yet. She said we need to wait almost an hour.. this is the only restaurent in the resort and they cannot offered food during the rest period…. Luckily another lady(seems more senior) approach us and said she can check with the shef to help with some simple meal|Beach - very dirty fill up with rubbish. I know is pretty commons but at least the resort would have arrange some |cleaning. But through out my stay there 3 days no cleaning at all|Anyway, the resort has compensate the panty incident for a free return transport to the airport. But by then our entire holiday was ruined.. oh, we check out earlier due to the flight(around 8am and no 1 offered a packed sandwich even, I though this is quite a common practice through out our 25years + resort experience

Amazing location, close to the airport, yet away from the mainstream hustle and bustle of Phuket. I have marveled at the stunning scenery as both a customer staying on-site, and as a guest attending my friend's wedding ceremony. In addition to the beautiful location and stunning scenery, is the exquisite skills of Chef Tony and his team, which takes the cake. Sprinkle some of the famed Anthony hospitality on top, and you will have the best experience money can buy to begin or end your time on this beautiful island we get to call home.
