SALA Samui Choengmon Beach Resort

My wife and I had a Thai cooking class with Chef Lek and it was brilliant. The price point of the class was very reasonable considering you have a personal chef and prepare 4 dishes of your choosing from a list provided and then have a sit down lunch for 2 people to eat the food you have cooked. The class also includes recipes for all four dishes, a julienne peeler and an apron. Chef was kind enough to talk through the ingredients and explain things very well. The class moved at a good pace and we never felt it was rushed or too slow. The prep and cooking area was in a dedicated outdoor space overlooking the pool and beach. Chef Lek was amazing and we highly recommend this class for a fun and delicious afternoon of Thai cuisine! We were not staying at the hotel but all the staff were so lovely and welcoming. Only one thing to note - there are two Sala resorts in Koh Samui so make sure you are booking and arriving at the correct one!

We had a fantastic stay at SALA Samui Choengmon Beach Resort! The hotel is in a quiet part of Koh Samui, yet just a 15minute drive by car to Fisherman’s Village, making it perfectly located. We absolutely loved the outdoor bathroom and the private pool, which made our room feel incredibly luxurious. One of the highlights was the nightly turndown service each evening we were left a different herbal drink, and mosquito repellents were thoughtfully provided both in the bedroom and the outdoor bathroom. We particularly enjoyed the complementary Muay Thai boxing lesson. Breakfast had a great selection, and the happy hour cocktails by the pool were a lovely treat. Overall, this is a wonderful spot for a relaxing getaway. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return!

Sala Samui is a truly wonderful resort. The friendliness of the staff is definitely the highlight of this resort. It felt small enough for the staff to truly get to know you, which is wonderful. Everyone even knew our baby's name and were always super friendly with us. The resort itself is squeaky clean, with an incredible restaurant offering a variety of Thai and European dishes of the highest quality. Highly recommend a cooking course if interested. Choeng Mon beach did not seem as picturesque as we thought. The water is more greenish than blue but it seems that all the beaches in Koh Samui are like this, so this is probably the best you can get in Thailand. Note that corals are quite close to the beach outside the hotel so you can't swim far. If you go 20-30 meters down the beach you won't have this issue. Overall, this was an excellent stay highlighted by amazing food and friendliness of the staff. We will definitively be back. For reference, we also stayed in Anantara Bophut and would chose Sala Samui over it every time.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely great. The rooms are beautiful, modern, and have a wonderfully fresh and clean feeling. Everything felt well-maintained and thoughtfully designed, making our accommodation truly comfortable. The pool and beach are simply marvelous – we spent so much time enjoying both. The restaurant offered good food with pleasant service, and the staff’s attention was excellent throughout our entire stay. Also, the location is quite convenient within the island, with easy access to nearby spas and cafés. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for families with young children. It’s an ideal choice for a relaxing and enjoyable family/ tropical vacation.

From the very first minute, we felt truly welcomed and cared for. Every single wish was fulfilled, the entire team was always friendly, attentive, and professional. The resort is spotless and beautifully maintained, the food is excellent, and the beach is absolutely stunning – calm, beautiful, and perfect for relaxing. However, we would especially like to highlight two truly exceptional people who made our stay unforgettable: James and Aod from the beach & pool team. These two treated us (and all other guests) like royalty. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine kindness went far beyond what you would normally expect. They truly stole our hearts and deserve huge praise. Employees like them are priceless and make all the difference. Thank you to the entire team for this amazing experience. Great staff. Property (rooms, facilities, landscaping) in excellent condition. Great beach. Very comfortable bed. Service was awesome. Food was very delicious. Will return. The property is very family-focused: couples + young families with kids. They have a dedicated family + adults pool to give everyone enough space. Beach is great for a long walk and there are plenty of shops (cafes, restaurants, massage) just next to the beach. Would book a villa next time for some extra space. The Deluxe Balcony room is good for a couple and if you only stay for a few days. Has a very spacious balcony. We found the swing door between the room and the bathroom not the best design choice but it's not a problem.
