Had one of the best experience at Salaam Bombay restaurant. We had a reservation for our dinner, and it was easy to reach at restaurant. Atmosphere was super, not chaotic at all. They have variety of cuisine and dishes. Me and my friends were delighted with the food and overall experience that we went there next day as well in our 3 day trip of Budapest. I am definitely looking forward to be there once again when I will be in Budapest next time. P.S. one of the best mocktails, would definitely recommend to others!

We had a great dinner at Salaam Bombay on Garibaldi utca 4 in Budapest's District V the other night. It's got this nice mix of classic Indian vibes and a bit of modern flair, making it feel cozy without being stuffy—perfect for hanging out with friends. There were four of us, my husband and I, and a couple of friends who love good food, and we all walked out super happy. I was all about the Prawns Madras—big juicy prawns in this creamy coconut curry that's spicy but not over the top. The Kashmir naan was awesome too, all fluffy with nuts and fruit inside, great for scooping up everything. I also got the daal, lemon rice, and raita, which rounded things out nicely with some hearty, zesty, and cooling flavors. Food was fresh, tasty, and felt like the real deal. Service was spot on—, gave good recs without hovering, and the bill didn't break the bank at all, especially for how good it was. Dinner for the 4 of us with appetizers, 4 main dishes, desert and beers was $75. If you're around Budapest and want solid Indian eats without spending a fortune, check it out. We'll be going back for sure.

We were extremely satisfied with our visit! The food was 100% traditional Indian and of outstanding quality. The service was impeccable the staff were very kind, attentive, and truly helpful in guiding us through the menu. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant, and the service was also very fast. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Indian dining experience!

Owner is a sindhi indian, so the food was good with options in our buffet. Service was curt with a rude girl behind the bar cum service counter. Located well near the parliament building. Our group dinner was once again scheduled in the same restaurant, however after reviewing menu options,we decided to eat at a nearby local cafe.

Website photos look good, but it is not. Chicken tasted like it was pre-frozen from a bag bought in a low-budget market. Vindaloo was bright red, probably full of food dye. Rice was likely not stored well prior to cooking. Avoid.

We found this place accidentally. The service is really kind and the food was awesome too. We are big Indian food fans. The garlic naan which is a simple thing was the best we’ve ever had. I highly recommend it.

Service is at par. The place is serene and perfect for a fine dining experience but the food is not authentic. Tomato soup was good, mochito was good too, but pulao, which was the main Indian dish I ordered, were just hard zeera rice. I couldn’t finish the small bowl of rice they served. And my stomach is still aching.
