I haven't been here in a while but it was a go-to among our friends whenever we visited. You can select your spice level for each dish, if I remember correctly. So if you're a baby like me you can opt to stick to the milder side, or if you're like my husband you can amp it up to the more extreme side of things.

It was a place we used to come to as university students 20+ years ago and of course the place had evolved. This time we brought our children here. The service was friendly and efficient. The place was hip and happening. We love the window seats. The food was consistently good and big portions. Overall, great experience as always. Parking is paid parking downstairs under T&T. Just buy something from T&T and get $4 back afterwards. Elevator for those need lift!

I love salad king. This place has huge portions and amazing noodle dishes. I got the Islamic noodles and mango stir fry with Chicken. The Islamic noodles had red curry and was soooo delicious! It is a secret item menu and I recommend it so much. Thai milk tea didn’t really taste like much but I still enjoyed

Invited a friend from out of town to try Salad King as I enjoy the Yonge location. We did the summer shareable $15 for shareable and 2 drinks, the beef satay is really good and comes off the skewer easily. Our mains were Phud Thai & Chicken Ball Fried Rice, main thing we can say is trust the spice scale descriptions - but they were tasty. :)

I ordered golden curry vegan. It was awesome but I like green curry more. This one was a little sour. Our server Mina was amazing. She took very special care and super friendly.

The service is very very good. The manager was very attentive. But the food was lacking favour.I had the stir fry vermicelli, chicken was unseasoned and dry. All the vegetables was probably just thrown in for a few secs therefore still raw and tasteless. Both dishes we couldn’t finish. It was dinner time on a Sat and the Restaurant wasn’t a full house not a good sign. Years ago this place used to be packed with long line ups. To whom this may concern. Taste the food, taste the drinks it’s terrible. Pineapple Tangerine soda. Don’t make up nonsense about tangerine is sour. You heard one word Sour and assumed that was the only reason. If you read this review you’ll remember me. Trust me taste those drinks they’re tasteless. Even if those are freebies you give away with a deal. If those had to be payed for! Seriously how many ppl ordered those drinks. I hope my next visit will be much better. Thx for your time.

Google
Great spot for affordable and flavorful Thai food. Fast and friendly service, generous portions, and fair prices. The shareable deal of 1 appetizer and 2 drinks was a great addition to the experience.

Went on a weekday noon time with some folks from my office. It was a good idea that we had booked a table ahead of time, because the place was packed. For the main course, you need to select the level of spiciness, probably best not to go adventurous on it as it can get really spicy. My main course was Basil Chicken with a side of rice. It was very tasty and had good flavour. I also tried the Vietnamese iced tea and it was excellent. The staff are very helpful and fast.

I used to come here when TMU used to be called Ryerson University, back in the years of 2010-2014. I have many a fond memory coming here after a midterm or final to celebrate, whether we passed or failed. I recently came back with my wife, and I myself Got the Khao Soi at 5 chilli levels of spice, while my wife got the Green curry at 3 chilli level of spice, though she ordered the Golden Curry. We also got the Chicken Satay to share. I do have to say, it wasn't as good as I remembered it being, but I might have also tried much more authentic Thai food in the years following my graduation. The food and service was still good though, and I really appreciate that our waitress acknowledged the discrepancy between the green and golden curry mixup. All in all, I would recommend, but take a star off for the mixup as well as the food not being as good as I once remembered. For being in the Core downtown area, I think they can do plenty better, but it's still worth a try.

Yelp
I love this place for their amazing That food and have been here several times. My favorite is their Siam noodles, the sauce is super delicious. I like to have it with beef or chicken. We asked for mild level for hotness. We also had orange chicken which came with side rice, it was crispy and delicious.

Yelp
Salad King, located on the second floor on the west side of Yonge Street, just north of Dundas, is a spacious and casual Thai restaurant that impresses with its wide variety of dishes and generous portions. The menu caters to diverse preferences, including vegetarians, with dishes made from fresh ingredients and packed with delicious flavors. During my visit, I enjoyed the vegetarian Glass Noodles, which were both flavorful and satisfyingly portioned. The restaurant's layout is versatile, offering seating options to suit any occasion. Whether you're dining solo at the window or bar, sharing a meal at a table, or relaxing in a booth with friends, there's a comfortable spot for everyone. This flexibility makes Salad King a great choice for both small and large groups. In addition to the appealing food and welcoming atmosphere, the restaurant delivers excellent value. The pricing is fair, and the staff are accommodating and friendly, adding to the overall experience. In summary, Salad King is a dependable option for those seeking tasty, well-prepared Thai cuisine in a relaxed and spacious setting. It's a great pick for a casual meal in downtown Toronto, whether you're grabbing lunch, dining with friends, or enjoying a quick solo bite.

Yelp
I visited this spot today with a few friends, after one of them recommended it, and I'm glad I gave it a try. I ordered the same dish as my friend--an off-menu item called Islamic Noodles with chicken and spice level 2. The dish, a coconut curry-based Thai creation, was absolutely delicious. However, I found spice level 2 a bit too mild for my taste, so I had to add some hot sauce. I think levels 4-5 would be perfect for anyone looking for more heat (they offer up to 20 levels!). The location is super convenient, right next to the Warehouse pub and just a 2-minute walk from Dundas station, directly across from TMU. The service was excellent, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was inviting.

Yelp
My friend from Toronto that lived for 20 years recommended this place, so it must be good, despite all the negative reviews when I did the research. I went here close to opening to avoid the long wait times and lack of service, and the food came out fairly fast and of good quality, so my experience may mirror others if I came during their peak dining hours. Nevertheless, I got their (not-so-secret anymore) Islamic noodles which is Penang curry with rice noodles (which we got with shrimp), as well as a mango sticky rice for dessert. The Islamic noodles were cooked to al dente with generous amounts of curry and a good amount of vegetables and shrimp. I really enjoyed this dish and it is to be expected if most people coming here and know of this place will tend to get this. However, the mango sticky rice was okay. The mango was not that sweet and the rice, while sticky, didn't give that much flavor even with the sauce within. It'd have been better to just stick to the Islamic noodles and nothing more. Price is pretty good for the portions - 19.75 CAD for Islamic noodles with shrimp was enough for 2 people, or 1 person if they wish to consume a very large meal. Service is fine, and if I go back, I will only exclusively order the Islamic noodles.

Yelp
Mirroring other reviews, this restaurant's quality has declined significantly since I last came a few years ago. I got the combination spicy meal, and what I received was horribly overcooked and incredibly watery. The shrimps were also small and didn't look great quality either. Even the rice accompanying this meal was not good; it was hard and slightly undercooked. This has to be the worst Thai food I've had in recent memory. The only reason I'm not giving it 1 star is because my friends got the Thai basil noodle and the golden curry chicken, and both of them were relatively better. However, the Combination Spicy meal was terrible even from a glance. If I wasn't in a hurry I would have sent it back. I can't believe this is the same restaurant I used to enjoy a few years ago.

Yelp
Went for the first time in years after an event in the city on a relatively chilly night. The place is always packed!! Sat on bench like seats, that give off a park bench vibe. They have no backs and can be a bit uncomfortable when space is already cramped. For a quick bite though, it'll do. A friend was craving their secret menu dish; Islamic noodles that I tried for the first time. We stopped in for a meal before making our way back home. We ordered spring rolls for the table. They were hot, fresh and crispy. Could've eaten them all on my own. For myself, I had the Panang Curry with shrimp and three chillies. The amount of shrimp provided was generous. The dish was mildly spicy so my nose didn't run and I didn't need to catch it ;) At first glance, the portion looks small but looks can be deceiving. The presentation is nice but makes for difficult eating. The plate and bowl aren't wide enough to fit everything into one. Service was very good for a place bustling with people. Between ordering and receiving food, everything came out quickly. Water too. Their washrooms were in disarray and unkempt but patrons are to blame for that.

Yelp
I went here on summary with my husband and one gotta say... The quality has gone significantly downhill. The food still looked good, and the portions were large, but that was about it. We ordered their famous Phud Thai (aka Pad Thai) and Khao Soy. The Pad Thai was... not good. The noodles were too soft and sticky, and the spice was not mixed in evenly. The first few bites were SO spicy (I ordered the 1 chili spice level), and the rest was bland. There was also an overpowering lime flavour. So much so that I could barely taste anything else. The only good part? They gave me extra peanuts when I asked for it. 2/5 The Khao Soi was a bit better. The noodle they used was not the typical egg noodle (the one they use to fry on top). It resembled a thick yellow spaghetti? I like this noodle better than egg noodles, but that's just my preference. However, the soup base, the most important part of the dish, was clearly WATERED DOWN. 2/5 This would've been a complete disappointment if it was not for their excellent wait staff. I did not want to bother her with how bad the food was. I just won't be returning. My advice? Spend the extra $3 and go someplace more authentic. Even Thai express has better Pad Thai.

Yelp
I gave this place another try. Went with 2 colleagues for lunch. Ordered the Thai rice with chicken and shrimp. For the spicy level can choose, 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20. Knowing that their food is usually on the sweeter side I picked level 15 spiciness. It was finally spicy enough, but it was still a bit blend for me so I've asked for soya sauce. I added 3 packets to make it to my liking. The food came late, but once the food came the servers were pretty fast from our demands. It's usually packed during lunch time, so make sure to go earlier.

Yelp
This is based on takeout experience. 3.5 I got the Islamic noodles (rice noodles in Penang curry). The sauce is provided on the side so your noodles do not get soggy which is great. I like how you can customise the spicy level as well. I went with a level 3 and there was definitely a nice kick. My tolerance is relatively low. It comes with either chicken or just vegetarian but you can add beef, tofu, and other items for a small surcharge. Overall the sauce was flavoured well. I really enjoyed the coconut flavouring. The sauce is a bit more on the watery side, not very thick just fyi. The portion was pretty big and I was only able to finish half for lunch. I would go back and get this again or try other items on their menu.

Yelp
Probably one of the best fast casual Thai restaurants in Toronto! I remember the good old days in college coming here for a bountiful feast of curries and coconut soup. i've got to say that they've held strong for over 15 years and have opened even a second location and the quality hasn't changed. Love the mango salad the coconut soup, the Tom kha soup, spicy fish, and green curry! Also, I was very surprised to find that the mango Gingerale was as good as it was it was so refreshing definitely a treat!

Yelp
Very friendly staff and large portions Service: The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive, being very kind and courteous with their service and topping off our water quite often. Food: The menu is fairly extensive and the portion sizes were very large, enough for a meal and a half or two if you're not too hungry. I found the phud thai to be way too acidic/sour, likely due to the use of vinegar or tamarind sauce. Typical Thai food is expected to be more balanced with some sweetness, acidity, spice, and fragrant, but this leaned too much on the acidic side. The mango sticky rice is fairly well done, although we would have liked to see a bit more mango and milk, and the rice to be a bit softer. Atmosphere: The place was nice and clean, with ample space for everyone to dine in and the location is very convenient for a meal after a shopping trip. Overall: A good spot if you're in the mood for Thai and not wanting to wait, or if you're famished, but there are better-tasting options around town.

Yelp
I'll always love Salad King. I've been coming here since 2014. The ambience is no frills, the location is great. There is plenty of seating. It's fast casual. Nothing fancy, but my no means super cheap eats either. The golden tofu dish has a special place in my heart. It's delicious, rich, and filling. It comes with a side of rice.

Yelp
This is my go-to work lunch spot! Satisfying, big portioned and savory dishes. However, I'm a bit turned off at the incredible price. $21 for a dish after taxes, before tip. I got the 'secret' menu item, Thai Islamic Noodles! Rice noodles with veggie and chicken, under creamy coconut curry.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the: - Islamic Noodles ($17) - Sping Rolls ($4.80) - 3 included Good - Large menu, customizable dishes - Service is generally fast - Plenty of seating - Central location Bad - Above average price - Spice level not consistent

Yelp
Pad Thai with chicken is the best in town. Been there countless times and great for takeaway. No offense but it's a huge loss for ppl allergic to peanuts cos that's the quintessence of the pad Thai.

Yelp
The portions are HUGE!! A cute ambiance not too far from Eaton Centre with delicious thai food!!

Yelp
I was in Toronto attending a conference at TMU and wanted some fresh food. I thought this place was going to serve salads, lol, but no. Instead, it was some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The Thai Basil Noodles and Green Curry were absolutely delicious for this vegetarian. Highly recommend both! also the mango ginger beer was a delight.

Byris L.

Yelp
My review is solely based on ONE dish I have had for more than 10x over the last five years: Islamic Noodles. It's an off-menu item that is my definition of "healthy" comfort food x guilty pleasure on a plate. I love Thai food and will usually order some sort of green/red curry when I'm at a Thai restaurant. Not here. I have ordered nothing else besides the Islamic Noodles with Chicken (sometimes Shrimp). I recommend 3 Chilis, maybe more, if you can handle it. The Islamic Noodles dish is this light, creamy, and really saucy/soupy dish with thai noodles, veggies and protein of some sort. You won't be able to find it or a description of it on their menu, but it's actually penang curry poured over. You can also taste a bit of peanut-flavor sauce as well. It might be intimidating to order something you don't see on a menu, but trust me, it's a must try!

Yelp
Delish food Big portions Very wide range of menu items Got some veg, halal and vegan dishes as well Ambiance 10/10 Service 10/10 Food 9/10 Would recommend

Yelp
One of the few restaurants where it's very easy to go in with a large group of friends! We had dinner with 11 friends on a Friday night and were able to get a table quickly. Its main draw is that it is cheaper Thai food downtown with a range of spice levels you can pick yourself (1-20).

Yelp
I love love LOVE this place. The food Is amazing and it's inexpensive. My friend and I went to ryerson across the street and pretty much went there all the time. Literally like we'd have our faces pressed against the glass waiting for it to open. The old location had a fire but the new one is even better. I love it here. And crave it all the time. I'm going back first chance I get

Yelp
After a long day at school, my go-to restaurant for some yummy Thai food is Salad King! I usually get their Phud Thai. It always does the job when I'm craving some authentic Thai food. I have tried their other stir-fried noodle dishes such as the Siam Noodles but their Phud Thai is still the best for me.
google avatar

Ryan W.

Yelp
If you're looking for a place that has decent food at a good price with exceptionally fast service, Salad King isn't a bad choice. I had the chicken pad Thai. It was okay. I like spicy food and this dish definitely delivered some heat. However, it also seemed somewhat bland for my taste. I lived in Thailand for a couple years, I often mention whenever I'm critical of Thai food in Canada. Maybe they backed off on Tamarind in order to suit the tastes of those less familiar with what's actually the heart and soul of Phad Thai sauce. I don't know. But it certainly didn't stir up nostalgia from my time spent in Bangkok, Koh Samui and Phuket. My friends made the mistake of ordering mango salad, and that's why the score of two rather than three. 3 orders of mango salad and we probably left 2 full orders combined on the table when we left. They hated it. "Dry mango soaked in a sweet sauce" was how one described it.
google avatar

Yelp
Love the green curry. Enjoy the presentation of colors from the veggies. Spring rolls very tasty. Battered shrimp rice good option.
google avatar

Yelp
This is only my first time in the last five years coming back to salad can't, I missed it so much that we flew from Calgary back to Toronto to have their amazing Thai food and curry soup and the staff as usual. We are amazing and I love the location is Central and really close to Massey Hall and then centre right on Young Street. Thank you so much salad can we loved it?

Yelp
NOTE: I would rate this place 3.5 stars I heard really great things about this restaurant from my friends and I was excited to try them out. However, I felt as though the restaurant didn't live up to the high expectation I had. COVID restrictions: masks on at all time minus when eating, must fill out form for contact tracing and proof of vaccination needed. The restaurant was very conveniently located in downtown. The restaurant had stalls on one side and open cafeteria concept dining area on the other side. The restaurant itself was relatively clean as well. Our server was really great, attentive and gave us great recommendations. My friend and I ordered the Siam Noodles. I ordered three chili level of spice. I have to say maybe I should ordered a higher level of spice because I felt as though the dish was bland. Theoretically, the food was definitely more than enough for one person, and they didn't seem to skimp on the ingredients. However, this was not a memorable meal and did not exceed the expectation I had of this restaurant in terms of food.

Yelp
Great place to eat some delicious Thai food. This place has has a favorite of mine since 2015 and you never go wrong here. This time I was told by a friend to order the Islamic noodles off of their secret menu (not shown on the menu). First time trying it and I 100% recommend it. It was essentially their fried rice noodles with panang curry on top, making it a super delicious combination! It's my new favorite item to order on their menu now. Their curry and rice options are also great. But their chili really elevates any dish you choose. However if you are not a strong spice eater, definitely recommend going level 5 or lower. But if you are brave their max level is 20!
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
I've been here several times but have only gotten one thing- the islamic noodles. It's no secret anymore that this is an off menu item and also the best item. It's basically a stir fry pad thai without the sourness swimming in penang curry. Nothing else on the menu compares and I'd freidns who've order something else and then look at me jealously when my islamic noodles arrive. The penang curry is strong and sweet and coconutty and just having it mixed throughout the stir fry noodles is just indescribable. There chillis rating is also not very accurate. I can handle some spicy but even at 5 chillis it's not really hitting any heat for me. I could comfortable go to 10 chillis. I've also had one satay skewer with the peanut sauce and thought that was also pretty good. Chicken was not dry and well marinated. I can't really comment about anything else on the menu but from what I've heard, none of it is as good as the islam noodles.
google avatar

Cindy D.

Yelp
Was craving something spicy and so I ordered the Thai basil noodles with chicken. I liked that the person asked if we wanted utensils for our order as sometimes we would get utensils that we wouldn't need (like bringing it home to eat rather than eating it outside). I got the regular amount of spicy just to be safe as I haven't had this dish from here before. Great portion for the price I paid for. Taste-wise, a little different than what I expected but I inhaled it and was content with my order. Can't wait to come back here.

Yelp
Great Thai restaurant nearby The Toronto Eaton Centre. Would highly recommend their secret menu item (Islamic Noodles.) Very unique taste and flavours. Also had their cheese wontons which you can never go wrong with. 10/10 spot, will be returning soon :)
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
Ordered some salad king through Foodora. Got a bowl of islamic noodles. Food came warm, which is rather nice for delivery service. But it was absolutely flavorless. It felt like eating boiled rice noodles with veggies, and the sauce is supposed to fill in the gaps. Others also said their pad thai, rice, or curry dishes were bland and lacking in flavour. They give you large portions, but if I wanted to not be hungry, there are much more affordable options that also have some flavor.
google avatar

Sel Z.

Yelp
Flavourless and underwhelming Thai food that doesn't really taste authentically Thai. The pad thai is from being authentic, and the stir-fried dishes just taste like watery soy sauce on rice. It has good price points that are affordable and the location is convenient to get to, but if you're looking for good Thai food, look elsewhere.

Yelp
Welll Thank you Salad king for existing !! I'm guilty for coming here everytime I'm in Toronto.. and trust me it's very difficult to find this place as there's not much signs outside the building or anywhere.. if you don't have any local friends from Toronto you'd never know this place even existed. My Torontonian friends and all the locals come here as they live here so they know what's up! Aha if you're a tourist you should read my review and I dare you to check this place out Ambiance: It's a weird looking building that takes you in an elevator onto the second floor and at-last you see tons of people having lunch here and it's jammed! The vibe is very cafeteria style but it doesn't bother me much.. I like the fact that its in a secret location and it's mysterious enough to find this cool place out! Service: 5/5 Pretty great and Very fast without missing the quality factor ! Food Is Amazing and surprisingly very affordable (almost every dish is under 10$ !!) The Islamic Noodles: 5/5 are not on the menu but I obviously had my friend tell me to get it ... as it was a secret dish .. I personally loved it! It was deeeeeeee deeee deeelicious succulent had a tad of coriander which I use to not like but I started enjoying it very much recently. I had only a fiew bites but my friend had to have it instead. She really wanted to trade my dish with hers aha The Chicken Satay 5/5 was to die for so tender and just mouth watering The bankok stir fry was awesome as well 5/5 !! Very fresh and deeelicious seasoned perfectly. Overall this place is awesome and I totally recommend it if you love Noodles. It's any noodle lovers Paradise! Tons of flavour and quality ingredients on point ! Cheers

Yelp
Did someone say RyeHigh? Been going here since 2009 -- their OG location on Gould -- so I have to always go back to the Yonge St spot. Great reliable Thai food in the city. Good for takeout or dine in. Pro tip -- don't take those chilli levels for granted; she hot!
google avatar

Rene V.

Yelp
Not just salads here. Thai food focused with many options for meat eaters and vegans alike. The wait was minimal and the staff was incredibly quick and friendly. The chicken satay was juicy and they did not skimp on meat. Slight char added a smokey flavor. Fried spring rolls are a bit greasier than I'd prefer but still very delicious. Ideally would have been better if they were fresh spring rolls but that wasn't an option. The tang from the sauce added another level of flavor. Within walking distance to the Eaten Center in case you don't want to do the food court. Less people to deal with too.

Yelp
Thai Restaurant Review 1 : @saladkingto had been introduced to Me at 2014. Since then whenever I go to downtown It's a must restaurant to dine in. Whenever I've to meet someone invite them at Salad King. The unique part of their restaurant Is their Spice Level and Halal Options are available.I always go with level 2 or level 3 . CUSTOMER SERVICE: 10 out of 10 - Such a prompt service and they know what to recommend. QUALITY AND QUANTITY : Standard and Serve 1:1. PRICE: Affordable.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best Thai restaurants I've been to, ever. You head on upstairs and there's a ton of seating. We ordered: - Satay Beef $6 - Islamic Noodle and Shrimp $14 - Bangkok Stir Fry and Chicken $12 The satay was fine. The Islamic Noodle and the Bangkok Stir Fry were must haves. And this is coming from someone who rarely likes Thai food.

Yelp
Salad King is located near Yonge/Dundas, very convenient. Due to the nearby student population, the dishes are affordable and the quality is great. The restaurant is spacious and there are plenty of seats. Most of the food is okayish, I'd say around 3 to 4 out of 5. They are not the best out of all the Thai restaurants in the city. Also, the spiciness level is a bit inconsistent. Sometimes 3 chili can be really spicy, while sometimes it's like 1 chili level. However, there's one dish that I recommend to anyone for 5/5 - The Islamic Noodles. This is technically their "secret menu", although everyone knows about it now because it's that good. The coconut sauce and the noodles are absolutely delicious! I love it to the point that I only order Islamic Noodles at Salad King.

Yelp
The holy grail for a university student on a budget that is affordable and quick! This is a well known spot for someone looking for an cheap meal that always hits and good quality for the price you pay! This place is always packed and busy especially during peak times like lunch and dinner but getting a seat shouldn't be too hard and a table is free pretty quickly. You can't go wrong with their Thai tea, Islamic Noodle, and my favourite Khao Soi if you're feeling something that is hearty and warm!

Yelp
Finally got the chance to try Salad King with my good friend (hi Steph!) who suggested it. I got the pad thai with chicken and spice level 5 chilies which on the Thai scale is the "Watch Out!" And no I did not watch out because the spice caught me off guard. It was more spicy at first but then it was good (more bearable) probably because they put the chilies more on the surface. I'd reached for my cup to extinguish the spice and was happy to return to a consistently refilled cup of water. Kudos to the waiters! I would love to attempt the 30 chilies just to see how crazy spicy it actually is. The portion is excellent but the tamarind flavour wasn't as strong than other Thai restaurants I've had. I loved they doused it in peanuts for that extra texture and I enjoyed the loud but communal seating. My friend got the Bangkok stir fry and it was so flavourful but she did mention it was a little bit dry!

Yelp
Loved their Panang Curry (score 10 for spice) It was creamy and just delicious. I started drinking the broth on its own. Spring rolls were a disappointment. They're too big and the plum sauce was watery. Thé waitress had a rough time recommending the most popular items on the menu for vegetarians since she couldn't understand when I said "I don't eat animals." She then recommended a seafood option... lord

Yelp
I have been here multiple times, and while I always take pictures of the appetizers, I am so taken by the food, I inevitably forget to take pictures of the main course.

Yelp
My friend recommended me this place and it didn't disappoint! I'm usually not a fan of Thai food so I was hesitate to at first but I went for their Curry fried rice and it was delicious! I went for 3 chillies which wasn't really spicy as someone who loooooves spicy food. I did end up going again for take out the second time and went for 5 chillies and it was great! Service was fast and nice. Would recommend and would go back to try something else!

I've been here about 2 times but I wish I could say more. For food, they have an option to choose the spicey-ness level, which I think is great. The menu is really easy to navigate for inexperienced Thai eaters, and I always get really excited to come here. Unfortunately I have not tried real authentic Thai food (as of yet) so I'm not sure what to compare it to but the food is good, and the service is better. At my first visit, I was impressed by my server who was an absolute star who helped explain the menu and made some recommendations, she gave me a stamp card, which if I bought 9 meals, I would get 1 meal for free (not sure if this is actually a thing now). But despite all of the intiguing options, I went safe and got the Chicken Pad Thai. It was bright red orange and boiling hot when it came. I like Salad King, and the atmosphere that it brings, but I rate this place a 4/5 stars because of their early closing hours. Since this place is at the heart of downtown Toronto, close to Eaton Centre, you get a crazy amount of foot traffic, you would think that the place would serve food late night. But it closes incredibly early at 9 pm! Even Chipotle across the street closes later than them! For me, Salad King closing at this hour bought me so many inconvenient times where I was rushing at 8:30 to get a meal here. And also looking forward to eating here, but going to their doors to only realized that they close at 9 pm! I wish they would consider this and make their closing hours later. It would bring a lot of potential business for them.

Yelp
Grabbed takeout from here on our last night in Toronto of pad thai and chicken and beef satays. The portions are HUGE here. One pad thai filled the large size styrofoam box and the chicken and beef satays was 8 skewers of meat that was a little bit overcooked but very flavourful. The pad thai was full of noodles that stuck together quite a bit and a little bit bland but had lots of ingredients. We enjoyed the many pieces of chicken breast, tofu puff, egg and bean sprouts strewn throughout. Overall, great portion size and great prices but I think there is better pad thai out there.

Yelp
The best restaurant on a student budget! My friends and I used to come here all the time. The food is really good and the price is even better. The Islamic noodles are a must try!

Yelp
Used to be a fan, but food has been disappointing on my last 2 visits. On a chilly Fall Monday at 1pm, tried to order Hot & Sour soup, then Tom Yum but 4 of 5 soups on the menu were not available, with no explanation. :( The green curry contained a good amount of chicken with broccoli and snow peas, but I was disappointed by the absence of bamboo shoots. The flavour of the curry was serviceable but not memorable, lacking in depth and aromatics. The dining is spacious and and I like that the takeout area is separate from hostess desk. Bathrooms are unisex and there is an elevator (restaurant is on the 2nd floor).

Yelp
One of my favourite places to eat downtown... Or maybe even one of my favourite places to eat in all of the GTA. I get the Islamic noodles everytime!! I tried maybe two other dishes but I can't imagine anything else beating this one, it's just so good!!! The soft rice noodles arent sticky. The portions are huge and the price is great. The curry is so rich, fragrant, and flavourful. I love the balance of fresh veggies too. The meat is even in good portion too. I like the shrimps. They're quite large and generous in number too. I think these noodles are something everyone in Toronto should try at least once. Great comfort food. Great for takeout if you don't like sitting on a stool or sitting in loud restaurants.

Yelp
Went to this location after work tonight for a pickup order. Once I got home I realized that I was given the wrong meal even though the receipt had the right items listed. I called the restaurant and was told I would have to walk back return the food and pick up the correct order. After working a very long day and walking approximately 20 minutes home I asked if there was anything else they could do for me. I was told no. I'm not in the restaurant business but maybe you could offer a voucher or a discount to a customer that has been given the wrong order and has paid for something that was much more to their liking. Very disappointed, horrible customer service.
