Great restaurant, a bit out of the way, but definitely worth the 15 minute taxi ride there from Plaza de Armas. The Restaurant is by a cliff and has a phenomenal view. You can see some of the other mountains and a river down below. I tried the ceviche clásico and really liked it. The sweat potato presented as decoration mashed instead of cut was a nice detail. The trout with melted cheese was phenomenal. The potato cake was a bit salty for me, but overall it was a great experience.

Everyone is rude until you buy something. You’re not allowed to go on the view platform unless you buy a bottle of wine - despite you’re paying entrance lol. It’s ridiculous But view is nice

Amazing tasting menu at extremely reasonable prices. I have no idea why more people aren't here.

Tasty food cooked to perfection. Stunning terrace over the river and the volcanos. A must.

Excellent view, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Service was good also - but the prices are quite high... higher than some better alternatives in the historic centre. But if you want to eat good food while looking at an impressive view, it's definitely worth a visit.

0 stars. Was seated, waited for 30 minutes, nobody came over to take my order. The place was not busy, they had lots of employees standing around doing nothing. This is the first place I've been to in South America that this has happened. I'll be back here in 2 weeks with my friend who is coming to visit and while we planned to spend a lot of time at the Mirador to eat, drink, and enjoy the view, we absolutely will not be dining here.

I was with my wife and 9 months old baby in the Mirador the Carmen. We decided to enter the Salamanto restaurant. Restaurant was half empty, and the waitress pointed us to the empty table. 1 minute later we were given the menus and asked if we needed a booster seat for the baby. Meantime(before we ordered) I was cleaning the extremely booster seat. It took me around 7 min to clean it. Once we were ready to order, a person(probably the manager - female) approached us and asked us to leave as we didn't have the reservation. Firstly we were given a table, menus, and the booster seat for the baby, after which we were kicked out from the half empty restaurant as we did not have the reservation. We did not know that the reservation was needed in a half empty restaurant and the table given to us did not have the 'reserved' plate, same as most of the tables. They should ask us for the reservation first. They should not give us menus and booster seats. We were with a 9 months old baby for heaven 's sake. I hope this review reaches as many people as possible as the restaurant needs to improve. Regards

Amazing food and thoughtful and caring personnel. It was our first day in Arequipa and the waiter recommended us to take it easy on our stomachs and start with less seasoned dishes. Thank you for the recommendations, everything tasted delicious!
