"Authentic Italian in a Quirky Brussels Setting We discovered this tiny Italian restaurant near Ave. Louise through a desperate, last-minute internet search. Like many of the hidden gems in Belgium, you could easily pass it by. In fact, when we found it we looked at each other with “is this it?” expressions on our faces. Inside the shabby-chic interior, delightful smells were emanating from the kitchen. Not long after we sat down, the small dining room began to fill. In addition to the rave reviews we read, these were two very good signs. Our pasta arrived looking almost as wonderful as it smelled; and the taste – velvety and delicious. This is authentic Italian, prepared with care and attention to detail - just the way Mama would make it."

The best pasta dishes we have ever had! The ingredients were fresh and the flavours were incredible. We are only in Brussels for 3 days but we will be coming back here tomorrow.

Delicious food, really done with love. Service is a bit slow so don't expect the food ro come out super fast. They cook everything fresh. The highlights were the saltinbocca alla romana and the vitello al limone. Everything was delicious. But prices are crazy unfortunately. 23 euros and above for mains and pretty much the same for starters.

Had a very nice evening here. Friendly and helpful staff and excuisit food clearly made with fresh products. The bruschetta was delicious and flavourful (quite some garlic). The papardele with porc cheecks ragoût was exactly what I had hoped for: savoury and filling. And the tiramisu was heavenly light. I definitely recommend this place! Main dishes range more or less between 16 and 26eur

I would like to comment food in detail, which was bad, service which was average or below, but I will ignore those facts and only comment on the hygiene of this place. I think I can get over the bad service anywhere, even the bad food is managable… but zero hygiene is something that a retaurant should never allow itself. I don’t know of there is any sanitar inspection here in Brussels to close this place but this was horrible. Our table had a table cloth filled with stains, hair and signs of usage for days. It has not been changed for days, I am sure, and they keep serving people food there. The did, indeed, put a paper cover (which covered only a part of the table cloth) but you could see the stains and hair on parts which were not covered and when lifting the paper cover - this dirt underneath was unbearable. This restaurant should seriusly consider how they server food and the hygiene standards they follow. Edit: They keep reporting my honest review so that people don’t see the bad hygiene they have in their restaurant.

The food we ordered was great: we had octopus carpaccio and pasta dishes (fresh, nicely cooked and delicious). However , The service did not meet our expectations. There was a loud dispute in the kitchen that made us feel uncomfortable. Later, the service was slow but we kinda accepted it since the food and the pasta were fresh. The major problem that made us questioning if we want to go to this restaurant again is when we asked them if they make “zabaglione” and they said no: 10 min later , the table next to us was served that dessert. We were surprised and very disappointed. So those 3 stars go to the food .

Opens late so good for late night food. The ambience is cozy, formal and romantic. The place has its menu on a portable blackboard and it changes so the menu is hand written. The menu has a large selection, mainly pasta. Priced around €20. There is also a large selection of wine starting at around €3 per glass. The food was authentic and tastes great. The service was also very good. The staff was friendly and gave us local tios for traveling Belgium.

Overpriced: the quality of the ingredients is very good, but the cooking is not authentic (too much oil, ingredients that do not melt together). I paid 40€ for a shared antipasto, a dish of pasta (undercooked), some house red wine. No dessert, no digestivo. My partner had a steak (Chianina) which was very tasty, but served with some boiled spinach (they presented them as a side of mixed vegetables). For 28€... Perhaps they could reduce the number of dishes they serve and consequently the prices... Service was good. The restaurant is very small and can get very loud.

for this review i'm struggling between the 3 and 4 stars. Cuisine is good but there to say Yay! i'm a fan.. not specially. The restaurant has a selection of more or less 10 starters , 10 main dishes. Starters are very pricey for the quantity/ quality ... if they would have been the killer starters then you say: well it was worth it and yummmyyyyyyy ... we took the tuna carpaccio, and it was soaked in olive oil and spices, the carpaccio was sliced so thin you couldn't even taste the tuna.. on the contrary main dishes are quite good and filling - the main dish i took Vongole Pasta. each restaurant prepares them differently but they were good. i love the fact the clams tasted so fresh, like "just fished out of the sea", just for that i say BRAVO. the wine of the house was decent and tasty. with the starter and the main dish there is hardly space for a dessert, but I will return for sure in order to try others specialities of the house

I've been there 3 times in last 4 days...I would have given 4/5 in the first time; 3/5 in second time (it was take out) and for 3rd time it is the worst ...so I'm giving 2/5! Service was so so so poor...Both in 1st and 3rd time I ordered tagliatelle with mushroom and shrimp...it comes with no cheese ..so I asked for Parmesan ...they gave me on the 1st time and it never showed up in 3rd time! Taste was terrible too! They don't have consistency!

Without a doubt, these were the best meals I ate during the Belgium leg of my trip. Down the street from my hotel and my friend's go-to neighborhood spot, we ate there two nights in a row. Fairly small, cozy, and unassuming it's straight-forward Italian bistro. The menu is in Italian only, which I though was strange considering most Belgians speak at least 3 languages with Italian not being one of them. The first night we started with roast vegetable platter which was excellent. But the standout was the tagliatelle ala tartfufi. Al dente pasta with a ton of truffles and butter, with light cheese. 10/10. We came back the next night and had a bolognese pasta, which was also great, but not as stellar as the truffles unsurprisingly. A really touch is the collection of illustrated paper mats drawn and written by a long-time patron who unfortunately passed away. In a lot of ways, this was the restaurant my grandmother would have run in her prime, in some parallel world. Charming and classy, romantic but causal, and serious serious eats to be found.

After walking by this bistro for nearly 6 years, I stopped in for dinner. It was super. The rucks salad was well dressed, the lamb ragu over pasta was perfect, and the sabayon was heavenly. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. Seriously good food in a comfortable room

I hate writing bad reviews, but our experience here was atrocious. We went about a year ago, and it stands out in my memory as the longest I have ever had to wait for food. Magically, when we decided after over an hour and a half of waiting that we should give up, the server said our food was coming out. Perhaps I was incredibly famished, but I do remember the quality of the food to be very good. My husband did not like his dish. Go if you're not especially hungry and you have a lot of time to spare.
