Upon arrival, the passport control took over 30 mins as there was only 1 person to accommodate a whole aircraft full of passengers. When checking in, it was busy for the size of the airport with no seating available. Baggage security checks took longer than expected and the gate areas are small. This airport is convenient for my location, however it's stressful. Plane was also 1 hour late too leave but that was due to weather, overall a disappointing experience.

I’m giving this airport one star. I was flying to Vienna, and there was a huge line because they didn’t think to separate the entrances for people flying to Vienna and those flying to London. Everyone ended up in one long queue. Then we had to wait for the bus and for the other passengers flying with us. They could’ve just made one line for each gate, and everything would’ve gone much faster. The Italian mentality honestly kills me sometimes. Oh, and by the way — the London flight was later, but they got to board before us.

Airport itself is very small and you go through quickly, although there's a lack of seating. Biggest issue is connectivity with ground transport. There's only one car rental agency on site. Other options are a bus to Salerno train station which does not have air conditioning (took it twice) and can be a horrible experience in summer. The trenitalia buses to Salerno station also do not appear on Google maps. Otherwise a taxi to Salerno train station costs 50€. This airport cannot become a viable alternative to NAP until the ground transportation options (quality and frequency) are improved.

We were kept on the actual runway for about an hour after landing, standing directly under the sun. There was no water, no access to a toilet, and no information whatsoever. One woman even felt unwell. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had at an airport.

The tax-free employee spends more time with the office closed than open. Moreover, they do not speak English and are completely rude. Employees like this should not represent the airport at all.

Very poor arrival experience. After disembarking, all passengers were left waiting outside in a long queue for over 30 minutes just to reach passport control. Staff randomly pulled a few families with children to the front but left others (like us, also with a child) waiting, which felt unfair and disorganized. When another passenger spoke to what seemed to be the manager, he admitted they were understaffed for Ferragosto and that the automatic passport gates still aren’t installed. Instead of addressing the issue, the manager and passenger turned on us, calling us “ignorant” for discussing how things could be improved — comments mostly directed at the men, which also felt misogynistic. I’ve traveled through airports worldwide and also work in customer service. This behavior was unacceptable. Rather than attacking passengers, the airport should focus on improving the process and welcoming visitors properly.

A nice experience: Salerno Costa d’Amalfi airport is a cute brand new airport created in 2024. Located less than 30 minutes from Salerno it is the right choice if you want to visit the Amalfi coast. Take a ferry from Salerno to Amalfi,Positano or Capri. The airport is very small at the moment but there are plans to transform it in a proper beautiful airport. Do not expect a Duty free section when you travel from here as the Departure area is small like a 3 bedroom flat. You might end up waiting for your plane outside. Staff is very professional, friendly and polite. Despite the dimensions you will enjoy the experience. I will give 5 star to the new airport

Great airport, extremely convenient with a good number of flights. I was impressed by how quick the checks were, both on departure and arrival. People are very helpful too. The airport itself is pretty small, and there are just two bag checks lines.
