Very poor arrival experience. After disembarking, all passengers were left waiting outside in a long queue for over 30 minutes just to reach passport control. Staff randomly pulled a few families with children to the front but left others (like us, also with a child) waiting, which felt unfair and disorganized.
When another passenger spoke to what seemed to be the manager, he admitted they were understaffed for Ferragosto and that the automatic passport gates still aren’t installed. Instead of addressing the issue, the manager and passenger turned on us, calling us “ignorant” for discussing how things could be improved — comments mostly directed at the men, which also felt misogynistic.
I’ve traveled through airports worldwide and also work in customer service. This behavior was unacceptable. Rather than attacking passengers, the airport should focus on improving the process and welcoming visitors properly.
