This place blew me away! Went here with no expectations and was in awe of the grandeur and beauty. The row boat was so much fun! Dress to get covered in salt as we hadn’t thought about that LOL. Would have loved to have bought a post card or a shirt or something with the outline of the island but they don’t have anything like that unfortunately.

Definitely worth a visit, despite being a bit remote. If you’re coming from Cluj, take the minibus from town (Podul Traian) and use the OLD entrance to the mine (otherwise you need to take a taxi). You can find the old entrance on Google Maps. It’s a longer walk, but much less of a hassle. The mine is quite an experience. It’s very unique in that they made it into a amusement park of sorts. Agree with others to try to go off-season (or outside of peak hours)

Breathtakingly beautiful place. From the surface you would not assume what kind of bra is waiting for you. There is also a little lake inside of the mine where you can take a mini boat tour. I would appreciate if I could drank a coffee there but there was no opportunity.

First it was hard to get here, then zero signs from city center to the old entrance which is really well hidden in a small street. I had booked online but had to pay a surcharge due to an incorrect price on their own website. The place is definitely interesting. A bit crowded though today.

This was my first mine experience, hence for me it was awesome and a must see experience in Romania! I recommend going on off season as it can get very crowded on summer. There is only one lift, then you can imagine the waiting time if you don’t want or can’t get the stairs.

The visit was very nice. But I would recommend coming before 11am because after it's becoming very crowded. The views are stunning and it's a very interesting destination. And inside it's pretty warm (12- 16°) so no winter clothes needed.

Not as impressive as some other mines i've seen but the setup inside is quite unique and still worth a visit and a good short trip from Cluj. The lighting and the lake were unique aspects of this mine. I spent a total of 1.5 hrs in the mine at a relaxed pace it's enough to see everything. Easy directions from Cluj: Take the Fany bus from Pod Traian (search it in Maps). Buses depart thrice an hour and cost 14 lei. Upon reaching Turda you can walk 20 minutes to the old entrance (search Salina Turda old entrance on maps). Once you get into the mine from the old entrance note that there is a 8 minute walk through a long passageway to get to the central part of the mine. When returning from Turda to Cluj you can catch the Fany bus back at "Fany bus (Turda Centru)" in Google Maps. It's at the northern edge of Piata Republica.

Amazing place! We payed around 13€ and it was definitely worth it. A lot of places to sit and enjoy. There is a big line for the elevator up but the stairs aren’t that bad at all. The only problem is to get back to Turda without car, but there is a bus few times a day.
