Very nice place near the Harbour. We sat there to have a few drinks. The staff is kind and the environment is great. The view is amazing. We didnt eat there, only took drinks so I cannot judge the food. But definitely recommend to pass by if you want some drinks with a good view, and also not too expensive!

We ordered the steamed mussels, cherry tomato salad, octopus carpaccio, and grilled octopus for appetizers. Everything was absolutely delicious. I was completely obsessed with the carpaccio and the grilled octopus; honestly, I could eat them every single day if I could. 🐙✨ For mains, we had the buffalo ravioli (yes, buffalo meat, not cheese), the spaghetti with shrimps, and the Black Angus inside skirt. The ravioli was unique and definitely worth trying, the spaghetti was a perfect 10/10, and the Black Angus was cooked beautifully. Overall, such an amazing experience. Fantastic food, great variety, and dishes that really stood out. Highly recommend! 🍝🥩

A well-made, author, greek experience. Salis was in my list for Crete trip. I am definetly happy for the food and whole package but it was not excellent. We ordered bread, olive oil, wine, octopus carpaccio, graveria, retired lady sheep and sea bass with my partner. Bread was perfectly choosen for the purpose, I loved it. Olive oil serving was a designated small plate with pepper and olives. Was not perfect but also good. Graviera was humble and great. If it's a local product, I would love to know the source. :) Wine was a local red one. It was just good. Main courses... Sea bass was delicious and well-executed for sure. Last minute crispy touch and milky sauce made it special but fish itself was a bit dry. Retired lady sheep didn't catch my expectations honestly. It was well-designed but overall taste was mediocre. I am from south-east Turkey and ate a lot of different&good sheep meat. it can be the reason of my unsurprised tongue. Prices were high for Crete standard but normal for a restaurant like Salis. It was a overall desired experience and we left the restaurant happy.

Really good service and really nice waiters! The food was delicious and the price could be higher for that quality and taste. Perfect way to enjoy local cuisine with the view of sea for a reasonable price. Also many vegetarian options but I would recommend to ask if your preferred food is vegetarian to avoid misunderstandings (especially as a tourist, that doesn’t understand the language).

People say you should stick to traditional, but when you can twist tradition in a sophisticated and balanced way …everything gets amazing 🤩 very tasteful and thoughtful indeed!! You must try it and get amazed …kalokairaki !!

Little bit of a mixed review from me, but that’s exactly how the experience was. Beautiful location, with lovely views, and some of the food here was brilliant. We had a lovely Cretan cheese to start that came with recommended orange jam (this was delicious!). The pilaf was very nice, and crack pie desert was a solid 10/10 (an absolute must have and the main reason I would return here). I had the mussels and fries for main course. Fries were winning. Mussels had a strange after taste, lots of them were closed.. and some were cold. This was concerning so I decided best not to eat. I told the waiter and they offered a new plate of mussels (I said no thanks as was not keen at this point). They then gave me dessert on the house which was a nice touch. Service was very disappointing. When we asked about the cheeses, we were told they were all hard cheeses, and hands raised in the air for clear signalling to hurry up and order food. From the moment we arrived we were rushed to order, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the experience. Have heard from others that this restaurant is much better in low season, and is just super busy in July/august.

An Unforgettable Dining Experience in Crete! Last night we had an absolutely wonderful dinner at this fantastic restaurant here in Crete. From start to finish, everything was top-notch – both in flavor and service. We began with a generous cheese platter as a starter, which included a great variety of cheeses and was beautifully paired with an orange marmalade, a delicious and unique touch! Next came three meze dishes: grilled octopus, tuna tartare, and a spinach quiche. Each one was perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. Honestly, we were already getting full by then, but the food was so good, we couldn’t resist continuing. For the main course, we shared two dishes, mini penne with pistachio pesto and a steak – both excellent. The pasta was rich and aromatic, and the steak was tender and cooked just right. We also went with a wine recommended by our waiter, which turned out to be a perfect pairing for the meal. To top it all off, we were served a complimentary dessert with the bill, such a lovely surprise! The entire evening, including all the food, wine, and dessert, cost us only €173, incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity we enjoyed. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable culinary experience in Crete!

Before coming to Chania, literally everywhere I turn and look Salis would come up, and that sometime terrifies me especially in touristic locations. Salis did not disappoint. Fabulous location right on the port of old Chania Food absolutely delicious and ultra fresh The service: staff are cool and welcoming. Due to how busy they are in August, attentive service was slow such as wine and water refill( not that I can’t make it) I am not that bougie lol but a place like this you would expect a service like that. This is said, we booked the second night and planning a third so yes we love Salisssss
