Overall this was absolutely fantastic. The service was unbelievably good- everyone we talked to seemed to go above and beyond. They were also very kind. Things happened very quickly after requesting (extra blankets, etc.) They were very helpful when it came to working with us in regards to allergies in both the restaurant and cafe. Everyone was great with the kids. The only things I would consider if looking at booking are the stairs everywhere- it does take a while to walk from the further rooms to the main lodge every time you want to swim/eat/etc. Not an issue for us, but I can see how that could be an issue for those with accessibility needs. The water in our room (shower specifically) was exceptionally hot and we couldn't turn it down. But, it worked and everything else was flawless.

We have stayed many times over the years. We have always had pleasant interactions with staff and have even commented to each other that every single staff member greets us and says hello when we are out and about on the property. The simple act of acknowledging and making sure guests truly feel welcome is the norm for the Salishan staff. ||On the rare occasions we’ve had to contact housekeeping/maintenance, we’ve always had a professional, expedient response. ||The on-site market/restaurant has a good selection of food and the staff has always been accommodating and friendly when we’ve asked to change or add something to an order. ||This last trip will forever remind us of why we come back. As always, every single employee we came across was friendly and helpful. What stands out to us on this particular trip is the interaction we had with Michael and Chad at the front desk. They were so pleasant and helpful with questions we had and went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. They showed us such thoughtfulness and kindness. They made us feel like we were valued and appreciated our choosing to stay at Salishan. They will forever bring a smile to our faces when we think back on our travels!

Our 6 night stay at Salishan Coastal Lodge exceeded all expectations! We were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the grounds. The website photos just don't do it justice! The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large and the beds comfortable. We loved our porch with the view of the beautifully maintained golf course. My husband played two rounds of golf during our stay and was very impressed with the design and condition of the course. Equally impressive was Salishan's spa. My massage was amazing! We were very pleased with the on-site dining options. Carefully crafted menus and high-quality ingredients. We also enjoyed the coffee at Pioneer Joe's in the Salishan Village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Salishan! We will be back!

My husband, 4 year old daughter and I decided to take a last minute Christmas vacation to the Oregon coast and had a great time during our 6 night stay at Salishan! The grounds of the property were beautifully maintained, as was the golf course (which my husband thoroughly enjoyed - even playing through the rain at times!). The staff was super friendly and quick to respond to housekeeping requests and room service orders. The spa is top notch as well. My daughter enjoyed swimming in the heated indoor pool and though we didn't use it (because it was vacation!), having access to a full gym on site was a nice touch. Yoga classes as well. It was a perfectly relaxing vacation in the most peaceful location. It was exactly what we wanted. We will definitely be back!!!

Enjoyed a birthday treat at Salishan. It was my first visit to the lodge. The staff were attentive, greeted me with a smile and generally kind and help from the front desk to the Attic Lounge. The food was awesome attention to presentation and taste was 5 star! My room with a fireplace and balcony was very nice! The comforter needed replacement due to holes throughout. Andrea & Melissa were the best at being kind & helpful I will be back

Older but very well kept. Woodsie feel. Very green. Very classic lodge feel. Smelled good. I hate older musty buildings. These buildings are nestled in the coastal rain Forrest and do not smell musty. Good job. The catered foods were amazing!

Google
What a wonderful venue! We stayed in their largest suite that included a full kitchen and laundry. The grounds, setting and staff were all perfect. We enjoyed the high quality breakfast in the restaurant and some of our party played the excellent golf course. Definitely plan on returning.

My husband and I went to the Salishan Lodge for our 10 year wedding anniversary. The lodge grounds are well kept, laid out well, and beautiful. The staff was so kind and accommodating. They gave us sparkling cider (because we don't drink alcohol) for our 10 year anniversary! We also found two glass floats while we were there. They hide two glass floats per day on the grounds for their guests to find. The game room/library was super cute. The attic food was good. The pool was super nice. Just a really cute, fun getaway.

Yelp
I hadn't been to Salishan in years and I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the place. Rooms were spacious with good beds, comfortable pillows and a fireplace! But the best part was the wonderful receptionist at the front desk , Caitlin. she was so kind and professional and solved an issue for us that was "above and beyond " service. just for reference, i stayed in a different hotel every night for 130 days out of each year for 15 years as my job required. I haven't been treated this nicely at a hotel in a very long time.

Yelp
"One Liner" sums it up- LIPSTICK ON A PIG. Our family is VERY familiar with this area and familiar with this lodge. This place was AMAZING about 15 YEARS ago! So if you're looking for just a beautiful massage or "amenities" that u can use, then that's PERFECT - the food is VERY expensive but VERY good. Other than THAT, this place is extremely overpriced and absolutely FILTHY and the wiring is dangerous! My parents were there for a week and the longer u stay, the more things go wrong. The staff is extremely pleasant..... accept for the general manager. HE ABSOLUTELY has NO idea about customer service. Extremely arrogant and had an attitude. He might need a couple courses in "Management"... Just saying. So my brother and I drove out there to be with our mom for her Bday. Unexpectedly Dinner was 4 + hrs , and 7 courses but very good. I was exhausted and didn't want to drive 3+ hrs back home. My parents got a room for me so I could take a bath and sleep. When I got in my room I absolutely couldn't BELIEVE how FILTHY these rooms are! Literally the only thing clean and made, was the bed! They have JETTED tubs and I couldn't wait to get in. I open the curtain, and all I saw was this dark ring around the entire tub like someone just got out of it. All of these balls of dead skin were all over the bottom of the tub. The towels had hair in them. There was not one thing in that entire room, that was clean. I literally had to clean every single thing I used, from the ice bucket to the glasses I used. The microwave was filthy. There was brown "something" on the couch. I refused to take off my shoes because everywhere I walked, The floor was super sticky. There was "something" white on the nightstand . Not to mention the 1/4 sandwich I found when I moved the nightstand That had a ton of filth behind it. Yes the fireplace was beautiful, but it would turn on and off by itself. So there's obviously something wrong with the gas. They absolutely did not clean this room whatsoever. My parents wasn't as BAD, but still was very dirty in areas. Oh yeah- the salishan "knew" they were going to have a POWER outage (JUST the salishan area), BUT THEY DIDNT TELL THE CURRENT GUESTS! So forget going in and out of your room with ur KEY, forget it if you have a CPAP machine, etc. etc. they told the new people coming in but did not let the current guests know . They have a coffee area with pods, and If u wiggle the wire to the outlet, the light comes on so u can see . Yeah little trick, you're welcome . Long story short, I did not shower, and I used as little as possible. The really SAD thing is, it APPEARS like it's perfect and beautiful- until U get IN THERE. Like I said, the general staff is absolutely amazing. Very understanding and apologetic, which helps when you're NOT happy. THEN we get to the GM.... He didn't want to hear about any issues, as my mother is speaking to him, trying to explain some of the dangerous electrical issues... He said things like "what do you want me to do About it"- "You're invading my personal space" and Had absolutely NO idea how to diffuse my mom, which is pretty easy if u know what ur doing. He made arrogant comments that made him look like he was too good to check out what the issues were... Etc. It's super EZ dude..... LISTEN to the complaint, take responsibility, APOLOGIZE (not hard), and don't act like you're "TOO good" or important to check things out YOURSELF. I could just go ON and ON- but let's leave off on a positive note . The rooms are very large (king suite anyway). They have a great deck to sit out and look into the wilderness. The fireplace is beautiful and your amenities are awesome. ( which everyone PAYS for on ur bill whether u use them or not- FYI). Staff was very accommodating when my mom got locked out of her room 3+ times, but you definitely need to do something about your general manager. You guys have done a really good job at keeping the oceanfront side where the spa, restaurants, etc. are at... But you really really need to focus on your rooms now and make sure your staff is cleaning those filthy rooms. I guess pictures are worth 1000 words and I have so many That I'm not sure they will all fit, but I will at least try. Thanks SALISHAN- Please get your facility back to the way it used to be with a good reputation because as it stands right now, your reputation is quickly going downhill...... unfortunately. GOOD LUCK

Yelp
This is one of the worst accommodations we have ever stayed. At 600.00 a night that should be a fairly luxury status accommodation. This is more like a roadside motel. I am going to just list some items that I feel should just be what to expect from this price point and we're not. Air conditioning. Windows that open. Soap not screwed to the wall. No Outdated furniture and rusted light fixtures. No smell of natural gas permeating the air right outside your room. No Golf balls being chipped right outside your window early in the morning and frankly a safety hazard. Can you move the driving range away from the rooms? No Falling apart Pillows that were so old and smelled. No cork screw or wine glasses in the room. When I asked front desk for them they told me I could come to the desk to get a cork screw but could not have any wine glasses. No bottled water in room. Pool was old and outdated hot tub was cold. You cannot eat or drink in pool or hot tub area even if you order from hotel. So no hanging at pool. Not that you would want to. Depressing atmosphere. No housekeeping. Have to ask. When I did ask I was told they could do it tomorrow but would provide towels. They did housekeep the room the next day but failed to fill locked soap dispenser of body wash. Had to shower with shampoo. Housekeeping should be part of this price point accommodation. I did not know it was not. No one informed us that it was not until I read the tacky sticker on the glass in the bathroom. They advertise this as a coastal lodge. You are not on the coast. You are across the street from it. You have to cross busy highway 101 that you can hear in your room. Thin walls besides hearing 101 you can hear your neighbors tv. Charged for accommodation fees of 190.00 when we did not use one of the accommodations no golf and no trail park. Why am I paying for someone else's golf? Tried for three weeks to make a spa reservation and they were fully booked. Not giving guest any priority. I saw other people from nearby hotels coming to the spa. Maybe could have gotten a spa appointment if we stayed somewhere else. Wish we did.

Yelp
Update!!!!!.....!.!!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!!!!! I had reached out to Savannah R, which is the resort manager of some of some sort I had mentioned that I was willing to come back there and give them another shot if the accommodation was right.... That being said reading all the yelp reviews. Savannah proceeded to offer me a $50 dining credit and two night host stay at one of their Bayview rooms after reading the yelp reviews. There is no Bay view. It's a sliver of the bay and it is close to highway.101 so it is very noisy. I feel those accommodations would make it worse. Seems how I didn't have those problems. The first time around. I asked her if we could get a room with the jetted spa and $100 dining credit because when I left there the first time my dinner was $59 plus a tip when the food was cold I know it's not the waiters fault that the food was cold so I felt obligated tip anyway so I told her that the $50 was not enough and would counter with 100 my dinner for one night was in total $75 so I don't see $50 covering for even one night's dinner.. they failed once again trying to fix their accommodating. I was willing to give them another shot, but they failed to come through with that.

Yelp
Recently visited from Hawaii. Decided to stay here because we are originally from Oregon. Wonderful stay, room was large, rustic, cozy and had the perfect PNW feel. Golf was fantastic, Hotel staff great, the restaurant was amazing. I had a question on card authorization and the General Manager Robert Ratchford as well as Director of Golf Tom Graves did everything they could to resolve quickly and answer any questions. Very much appreciated the level of customer service and timely response I received from them. I highly reccomend staying here. The place is gorgeous, great food and great golf!

Yelp
Free yoga class everyday, beautiful pool in a cedar building, Leroy seltzer rope art and woodcarvings, decent beds, nice room layout. I drank the tap water. Keurig coffee is gross: the lobby coffee was weak. I miss the mini golf they had a while back. Gym was nice: sauna great, spa was down while we were there. The locker rooms were dirty. Slippery pool deck next to the locker rooms. I like the separate saunas and locker rooms. Thank you Salishan for not making gender neutral bathrooms in the public spaces. Our room had hard surface flooring, and the chairs scraped on it: put some pads on those chairs!! Could hear our neighbor every time they moved their chair an inch. We had the spa package: $735 for two massages, gratuity and two nights. So about $165 a night. Had a couple of drinks there but breakfast at the great Smoothie place across the highway! Coffee at Frontier.

Yelp
Excellent place for a weekend getaway. The receptionist was really cool and nice. We'll definitely come back again!

Yelp
The bed had a weird mattress pad on it. I sank into it causing a divet everywhere I sat or laid. Mind you I only weigh 120 pounds. The room was much smaller than the photo and the room had a view of the highway. I would have liked a room with a nicer view. The hot tub was broken which was very disappointing. It seems to be a theme for most hotels in the wintertime. it takes the sauna a good 30 minutes to heat up. The food was ok. Several days before Christmas I began asking the restaurant staff what was on the menu for Christmas dinner. No one knew or bothered to find out. I arrived for dinner which was Prime rib, mashed potatoes, and a small portion of carrots for $45.00. I mentioned to the manager, and she was surprised no one could give me an answer. I was expecting more. The staff were very courteous. This just was not my style.

Yelp
I had an amazing half day using the Fitness Day Pass. Worked out, showered, sauna, showered, hot tub spa, showered, pool (repeat). Facilities were all excellent and clean. All in one area with lockers and a comfortable sitting area by the pool. The hotel lobby is beautiful too!

Yelp
With the price point, I expected more amenities and toiletries in the rooms. Bare minimum is provided in the rooms, including a $15 fan to keep you cool feels like a rip off compared to the price you're paying and the "luxury" they advertise. When the air/AC is on, you can barely feel it. Thankfully we came on a good weather day where it wasn't too hot or cold. The fireplace was cool, I can imagine the winters here are enjoyed. We booked a double queen room and received an overlook room 139. It was a downstairs room and we got to park right up front. We enjoyed the trees as our view as it provided privacy and added to woody cabin feel. Definitely enjoyed a hot cup or two of coffee out there on the patio. A table, 2 rocking chairs and a small built in looking bench is provided. Our room was a walk down the path away from the lobby which had the restaurant, store, fire pits and basically all the amenities. The hotel is a short drive away from the town, which is where we grabbed our dinner, breakfast and checked out local shops. Dog friendly and your furry friend even gets a welcome bag.

Yelp
We stayed here for a basketball tournament and it was an awesome experience! I can't say about I great things about this resort. The customer service is top notch! Every one working is happy to go out of their way to make your stay more comfortable. I would like to give a shout out to Tony in the Provisions cafe! She was so kind and took great care of us! Our rooms were clean and the beds were super comfortable. We will be back for sure!

Yelp
My best friend and I just got back from our girls trip. We spent two nights, three days. The positive: The staff is excellent. Couldn't ask for a better experience. They were welcoming and always willing to help. The staff gets five stars. The negative: I want to say firstly, that they seem to be trying hard to remodel, and the new decor was beautiful. It was right down my ally. My problem was in our bathroom, the sink had a large Crack in it. We went to use the hot tub, and the women's bathroom sink wasn't working right. It was like a puzzle trying to shut it off. The same with the shower in our room. These are little things that make a difference. Especially, being an " upper" resort. I fully understand that this is a rustic environment, which was what we wanted. I just think that the basics, such as faucets working, , sinks not being cracked, should work. Overall, 5 stars for the staff. They were terrific. 2 stars for the accommodations.

Yelp
We took a girls trip to this Lodge. The employees are very friendly and stayed in a 3bd and 3bath suite. We spent time at the beach near the Lodge and a spa day. This place is so clean and a had a great experience. I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
The 70s called and it wants its' room back. For the hype, I was expecting more. The rooms are outdated and dark. They are clean, but, the room had a musty/damp smell of the coast. Bathroom is outdated and shower curtain was so short, we ended with water on the floor every time. Housekeeping was limited. So, we ended up requesting new towels to be delivered. Salishan is nowhere near a store or gas station, so be advised. The grounds of the property are pretty and the people who work here are amazing. If they could upgrade the rooms, it would be a really nice place to stay. However, at the current prices one should expect a four to five star experience. I could see at their current state spending $150 a night. Nothing more. So, to me their nightly rate is excessive. No hurry to get back there. Probably look elsewhere to compare.

Yelp
Came here with a work group and we had an amazing time!! The staff was super kind and welcoming and we were all able to get our separate rooms seamlessly. The views are gorgeous and the food was great. We didn't come for the golfing but the grounds looked beautiful. The staff was very helpful with navigating the grounds and drew out maps for each of us and how to get to our rooms. It is a short walk from the beach and it was a wonderful experience.

S G.

Yelp
Agree with the other reviews that the hotel is outdated and has a musty odor. The main dining room was closed for an event while we were there, so we were forced to go to The Attic instead. Though kind, our server was spacey... The food took forever (45 minutes for two entrees) and both were messed up. The 'gluten free' bun option, ended up being toasted bread which fell apart around my burger. One of the worst dining experiences we've had and it cost us 85$. Absolutely won't be back.

Yelp
I'm not sure when this was built, but it had to be sometime in the 60s. I grew up close to the coast range and this was a hallmark of luxury growing up. I spent three days here in July and it was very lovely even though it was very dated. It was a beautiful place.

Yelp
Wish we would've never booked here. At this point I just want a refund and to go home. We Booked for our 25th based off of online and it's false advertising. Save yourself the money, the highway road noise is beyond less than relaxing and these are NOT Resort rooms this was an apartment complex. That they've converted into smaller rooms and getaway with calling it a resort. This should be listed as a Bare minimum experience. First no elevators, next the parking is awful. Then we get into our room and the door connecting it to the other room doesn't latch shut and is ajar being held partially shut by a top cross latch. The front door has clearly been kicked in and the bottom of the door frame is busted. The bathrooms are not impressive it literally is not worth the amount charged. When I called to complain about the fact that my room is NOT SECURE AND THE NEIGHBOR COULD JUST WALK IN!! I was offered DOWN Grades to a bottom floor with no view & more road noise; or waste our time waiting for an engineer. We chose wait. Also after Online Says Ocean view the view is a sliver in the distance, On the OTHER SIDE of the noisy highway! The Highway noise is So Loud this IS NOT A RELAXING GETAWAY! Worst vacation room experience we've encountered. Such a bait and switch! This was supposed to be a great decompression celebrating our 25th anniversary and we currently are sitting waiting for an engineer to come fix the doors and actually secure our room. Otherwise we will have to downgrade after they've already charged us $1200 for a room with No AC and never ending Road noise even with the doors and windows shut! Buyer Beware DO NOT COME HERE!!!

Steven M.

Yelp
We have stayed at Salishan Coastal Lodge 2 times in the last year. What we do like is the friendliness of the staff, easy access to the rooms, and close to the golf. What we do not like.. The price. Way too expensive for the accommodations. The rooms are small, and dark. A bit dirty. Very dated. The grounds could use an occasional blowing. We paid over $600 per night with the taxes and fees. The cafe is very nice. Lots of choices, just pricey. Like, $12 for a cup of oatmeal. It was yummy, but... We also really liked Osheans and the coffee shop across the highway. We will probably find a better place next time we visit the coast.

Yelp
A solid 3 for location & ambiance but the sub-par food, the lack of air conditioning & amenities such as no robes, no room service or toiletries make me only give it 3 stars, especially for the price you're paying. It's in a great spot surrounded by gorgeous trees & you're able to explore and walk the entire grounds. Across the street are some shops & where their day spa is located. There is also a private path to the beach but it's actually quite a trek so you better not forget anything or you're screwed. Overall, it would have been a much more enjoyable experience if they had AC since I was there on a particularly hot weekend. They had a fan but all it did was blow around hot, swampy air. A cool destination to check out, it just needs some upgrades.

Yelp
Update: So I will clarify, they do offer free cruiser bikes, but they had only 1 cruiser available when I was there with a party of 3, and 20 Mt. Bikes available for a $25 rental fee. So we would NOT be able to take advantage of the complimentary bicycles and were told by the front desk we would need to pay! The rooms and amenities are great. The food is mid. Had the burger, Mediterranean pizza, and the chicken bowl. The burger was so bland. Tiny little patty and no flavor. Not worth the price they charged. The Mediterranean pizza on cauliflower crust was also extremely bland. The crust was crisp, but the toppings weren't cooked and the cheese wasn't completely melted. Disappointed for over $20. The chicken bowl was great though. We had the Mezze platter at the lounge. It was ok. The fries though, were VERY good!!Way over priced though. $24!!! They have some cool things to do like a ropes course, mountain bikes and spa. All of those are an extra charge. $100/person on the ropes and $25/ 2hrs for the bike. Beautiful location though!!! Have fire pits and corn hole boards. But we're missing bean bags for one of the sets. Overall it was beautiful. The room was nice and clean. The pool was clean and warm, but the hot tub not so much... overall I would go again but plan for different places to eat.

Yelp
What a gorgeous property, Salishan is. We lucked out with beautiful weather while staying at the lodge for several days so really got the opportunity to enjoy its amenities and beautiful grounds. The room we stayed in is the executive suite, which is a 2,000sq ft space offering spacious dining, 2 full bathrooms, a large sitting room with Murphy bed, fireplace, furniture and balcony that overlooks the coast. The hotel is NOT on the beach as implied so our beach view is from up the hill without beach access. The suite has Modern bathrooms with whirlpool spa and spa toiletries that smell amazing. Not very impressed with the outdated furniture- the king Bed was sinking in so we laughed about being princess and the pea. Food on property is excellent. We had the opportunity to try a lot of what they offered, having stayed for several days, and for the most part it was all well above common hotel food. Fresh, organic and high quality ingredients were apparent. Impressive wine pairings, tastings and lists. The Bay House restaurant is a 4 star AAA rated location. The aerial adventure of park took us in the trees- 75ft up at some points which was absolutely terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. Loved the Pool and spa. Fireplaces and warm atmosphere throughout property was very inviting. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return if they invest in comfier beds :)

Shannon V.

Yelp
We have stayed here a few times and overall, have a good experience. This time I received an email to "upgrade" our experience. I chose a glass float ($25) and a meat and cheese board ($35). We arrived and the items were in our room. The food was absolutely not as advertised. No crackers, very sparse looking and the salami smelled rank upon removing the wrap. We ran down to Beachcrest to get better food. Our itemized email showed that a delivery charge ($5) was added which is totally fine. However we were shocked that they also charged 20% gratuity for both meaning we were charged a fee and a tip for the lackluster charcuterie board AND the float. IMO our "upgraded stay" was not worth it at all and a last chance money grab.

Julie H.

Yelp
I was expecting so much more. The rooms were pretty outdated with VERY low toilets, dark, kinda dingy super uncomfortable beds and couches. The bedding was even too small for the bed. The sheet didn't even come up to our chests laying in bed. Very little view certainly nothing like the imagines on the website. No blankets no extra pillows, nothing. Fridge in room was good. Coffee pods were gross and that was the single only in room amenity other than the soap and shampoo in the bathroom. The towels were thin and very small. The trash outside the room was not emptied for more than 24 hours and was overflowing. The Attic restaurant server was super put out that we ordered decaf coffee and that he had to go downstairs to get it in these paper cups and bring it up to us at our table and told us each time he had to go "all the way downstairs." He really didn't want to and when we each asked for a refill he only brought one up and never did go back and get a second cup for my husband. Room service didn't answer at 7am when they were supposed to be open and asked us to leave a message. After 30 minutes nobody responded and we called provisions. They didn't apologize, nothing. The front desk service was good BUT she told us to go to the restaurant and bakery in their own little center and they weren't even open on the days we were staying so that was pretty uninformed recommendations. The website implies water front, like ocean front, in the images but really the property's private residences were ocean front with one beach access spot available to hotel guests. The grounds of the property are pretty and the covered walkways were incredible. It was a beautiful few days but in the rain would be so handy. The fire pit and lobby were beautiful but drastically different than the rooms and how they looked and smelled. The price of the room didn't match the quality and was well below expectation. We won't be back. I am sure this is a place some would love it just wasn't for us.

Sandy S.

Yelp
I sure wish I had read all the review comments before booking. I was excited to visit here based on the website listed amenities and pictures. Not as advertised..... I agree with many of the reviews of being overpriced. What I haven't seen in the reviews is the thin walls!! I've stayed at many hotels due to traveling for work and you can sometimes hear an alarm clock or a toilet flush in your neighboring room but here you might as well be in the same room as your neighbors. We requested to change rooms upon our arrival due to the kids above us running back and forth in the room and it was so loud. Luckily I requested a room change immediately as we wanted to relax for our short 2 day stay. Nothing against the kids having fun, but no insulation here at all. Upon changing our room to a top level we were woken up all night hearing a baby crying, a couple having Whoopi, oh my.... You can hear conversations almost word for word. I also selected an upgrade request before arrival for a fruit and cheese platter. The advertised photo looked so yummy, but what we got was not even close. I've included the advertised picture and the actual. Very disappointed and not eatable. We have food credit of $40 to use at the onsite restaurants and based on the reviews I'll be forfeiting that credit. I will say the interactions I've had with the staff in the lobby has been good to get our room changed and they will credit us for the fruit and cheese platter. They offered up a bottle of wine or sparkling cider to make up for it.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights this past weekend for the first time. We had a king premier forest view room. Everything is very outdated from the decor to the furniture. The view and the fireplace were nice but that was really about it. There was a microwave and mini fridge in the room. The bed was hard as a rock and barely had any blankets on it. The Attic restaurant on site wasn't great, and we had room service breakfast the next morning from the other restaurant choice and it was OK but for $60 for a burrito, French toast and a smoothie, no thank you. I'd say most people have dogs as well so be prepared to hear barking. No robes or extra blankets in the room. For $900 for two nights this was definitely not worth it, unfortunately we won't be returning. Pros: pretty view Quiet/peaceful setting Large room Cons: Everything is old and outdated Uncomfortable bed Expensive for what you get On-site restaurants not great

Yelp
This is my first trip to Oregon and I landed at this resort for $100 a night in its off season. I do not think it's worth more than that, notably because the rooms do not get daily maid service, the water pressure is crap, and the Internet is just okay. Also Salishan, the leaf blowers in midday while I'm sure are necessary, maybe you could find something a little less abrasive, holy moly. I want to clear those negatives out because most everything else here is great. The room itself is quite lovely, setting is beautiful, and the staff is very nice for what little I've interacted with them. The grounds sport an indoor pool and jacuzzi, small gym (missing what looks to me some notable equipment for back exercises and triceps), tennis court and golf course. Bicycles are "free to rent for guests from sunrise to sunset" or so the pitch went at the desk; I never used them though. I love the outdoor fireplaces and forest vibes. I am visiting from San Francisco, often lauded as perhaps the country's most expensive place to live, and boy, could Salishan's spa give us a run for our money, literally. Unless you're getting a foot massage, full-body massages and wraps run from about $145-$255. I do actually think we're a touch higher in SF but *only* a touch. I could see how this whole place was probably pretty luxurious in 1980-2000 but the whole thing could probably use a bit of a face-lift nowadays. Don't lose the mountain cabin sort of vibes, but also make everything a little less stale and more concierge feeling. For $100 a night I'd definitely return in its off season though. As I said, the whole experience has been really calming and rejuvenating, and lovely.

Yelp
Not what we were expecting at all. The rooms themselves are very old construction, and you can tell the shower/tub hasn't been taken care of. Mattress and bedding were majorly skimped on, especially for a hotel at this price. NOT a luxury experience. The "in room dining" is really a door dash situation with the cafe and restaurant on site, and the food was below "holiday inn breakfast bar" quality. Housekeeping is not assumed, you have to call and request it. But when we did, we learned this means someone comes and drops off towels, and nothing more. Not even a trash collection. Two stars for the beautiful forested location, a great gym, cool offerings like bikes, and a well thought out main lodge, but that really does a lot of the heavy lifting with this hotel. If you're looking for a summer camp experience, this could be a good fit for you, but not at all what we were looking for.

Yelp
I have very fond memories of coming here with my Father and family in the 70s and 80s, when it was beautiful and luxurious. It is now corporate hell. I booked a "Coast View" room based on their lovely SCP Marketing emails, weeks in advance for Thanksgiving. The "Coast View" is a rock, dirt, and Highway 101. There is absolutely no water in sight. On entering the room, I almost immediately succumbed from the smell of mildew. And a day later, I literally got physically sick. They should have paid me to stay here. Don't come here. Just don't. You will regret it. Just look at the old photos and wish things were like they used to be. Oh, and the front desk? Have you ever seen the movie 'Brazil'? That is the front desk. You will get nothing from the front desk except more anxiety.

Yelp
Amazing experience for my anniversary with my beautiful wife. The food was great (breakfast and dinner/cocktails) and I was able to sneak off for some rounds of golf. The staff was friendly and accommodating. This place came recommended by some co-workers (was trying to find a special place since this was a big occasion and I didn't want to default to the same old trips to Manzanita or Cannon beach). The room was spacious and cost effective, for what you get, which is a lot. Will come back, now that we have experienced this memorable place. She loved it.

Yelp
I imagine that Salishan Resort was luxury back when it opened in 1965. For further evidence, the resort plays on the tv, an old time video taken during its heyday 24/7. However, to achieve that status, they will need to invest the money to update. I booked a weekend getaway to the Oregon coast. It was selected as a Conde Naste reader's choice. Hmmm. Cons: $569/night for the Canyon Suite. Not worth it. Pulled up to the room and the windows didn't look clean. Is that dog slobber? Sidewalk Path that dead ended into the picture window of the room's foyer. Odd. Large hot tub in the bedroom, but you only have enough hot water to fill about 5 inches. So much for a "hot" tub. I was allergic to something in the lobby and didn't return. Spa and coffee shop located across the highway versus hotel grounds. Bottled Water in the room for $7. Pros: Double sided fireplace that generated a lot of heat. Dining table with refrigerator & plates & utensils in room. Porch overlooking forest with rocking chairs. Tennis center Spa (reviewed separately) This place has a long way to go for me to recommend the price for what you get.

Yelp
Wow. YUCK. We checked out after 1 night instead of staying 3 as planned. I wanted to leave immediately but we were too tired to get back in the car and drive home in the dark. Hats off to whoever does the marketing for Salishan lodge because they lead you to believe it's a hip, luxury property with posh amenities. But oh my, will you be disappointed! The website makes the rooms seem luxe but I've stayed at MUCG nicer rooms in an EconoLodge or Motel 6. Really. It's THAT awful. We booked a King Deluxe -- it was way overpriced -- I travel for work and have stayed at many hotels in the same price point across the country. This was BY FAR the most disappointing place I have ever stayed in for the price range. CONS: Room wasn't clean (see pic of sink grime) Cobwebs hanging from ceiling Furniture was run down Sagging mattress Outlet covers were dirty Stain on sheets No waters No dishes No washcloths One single caffeinated Keurig pod One single hand towel Dirty bathroom floor Ancient TV Room stuffy - no ventilation Slow room service with requisite 20% tip PROS: Pretty grounds Enough hot water That's it Do. Not. Book. Here.

Yelp
Love the vibe and the out of the way feel of the entire complex. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Great place to get away for mini vacation.

Yelp
I want to tell you how wonderful the Salishan Resort is. I had one of the best meals of my life at the more formal restaurant, where the coastal forest is seen through giant windows. They also have a golf course, pool, hot tub and beautiful and peaceful outdoor spaces with heaters for cooler weather. They have a workout facility and a long house (conference center). There are all kinds of activities available - grab a bicycle and tool around, attend a yoga session or join in the sip and paint to enjoy some wine, paint a little something. Or take a walk through the beautiful forest canopy on their new suspension course. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The grounds are verdant and gorgeous. Just look at my picture. The water caraffe in the lobby had blood oranges one day and the next had lemon and orange slices and raspberries. It's these little touches that make the experience welcoming and special.

Yelp
The best thing about Salishan is the grounds and the setting, but don't believe the marketing and get fooled into thinking this is a luxury resort. It takes a lot more than nice trees and landscaping to win people over. Given that we paid nearly $400 a night for an upgraded room I would expect some in room amenities like: mini bar, laundry bag, robes, elevated body-care products, or even just q-tips or makeup wipes. I get virtually all of these items at a mid tier Marriott, so why not here? I'm sorry, but the bamboo and bergamot body-care products smelled like sunscreen and disappointment. Although the room was bare bones, we hoped any of the properties 3 restaurants would make up for it. Sadly guests should seek their dining elsewhere. To sum up: terrible coffee, served a salad with brown lettuce, still frozen hashbrowns on the plate, ice cold bacon, and food generally devoid of flavor. I will say there was a nice assortment of spirits and wines. Thank god! Even though the food was bleh and the room lackluster what really chafed us was the terrible music being piped in to all areas of the property. Want to sit quietly outside and watch the stars? Too bad you're going to listen to Nirvana. Want to sit by the fire and roast some marshmallows? Think not, you're going to hear some strange Christian rock. Want to talk to your family at breakfast? Sorry but you'll have to do it over Maroon 5. In truth this place is a bit of a joke, even for the Oregon coast where good hotels are few and far between. Seek your lodging elsewhere.

Yelp
My family booked salishan resort solely because of the Aerial park. You get more than what you expect in this package. We had such a an amazing time yesterday on 08/04/2021. I highly recommend booking the aerial park really in advance. When we booked ours 3 weeks before , only 5 slots were available. So if you are coming to have a great time and challenge your comfort zones , BOOK IN ADVANCE. We reached 'shops at salishan' 15 minutes early , as instructed to get the gear. Tanner explained in detail how to use the gear and we hiked with Becka and Tanner to reach the aerial park. They made sure every single member in our group completed the training before starting the real experience. And every single day they do safety checks before the course too. Thank you so much Becka and Tanner. This was an experience I cannot explain in words. Even in this summer it was cold when we went to aerial park. I suggest everyone to take jackets . There is a deck below to keep your bags and water bottles . Wearing pants will be comfortable with the gear than shorts . I forgot to tie my hair before reaching the aerial park and I wish I had done that . When hair comes to your face at this high point of aerial park, It's really distracting. Once you finish the course you will go back to the starting point where you collected the gear. It's a beautiful shop with lots of souvenirs. Becka's husband designed each of those stickers. They are very beautiful. Overall great experience at the aerial park.

Yelp
Here for two day meeting. Very relaxing place. Outdoor fire pit seating. Golf course and Spa. Outdoor dining. Rooms have fireplaces and are spacious.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful and on a amazing stretch of land in Oregon. It is well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and comfortable. They were clean and well maintained. Our dog was as welcomed with her own welcome pack. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for a little luxury and quiet in a perfect location.

Yelp
Not impressed. Check-In supposed to be at 4:00, we didn't get our room until after 5pm, after waiting for over an hour. Had dinner in The Attic. Again, not impressed. I ordered crab cakes & the beet goat cheese salad. Server came back & told me beet salad was not available. OK, I'll have the salad without the beets & extra goat cheese. She came back and said salad was not available. Huh? It's Saturday night and you can't make this salad? I ordered plain green salad instead. Meal was just OK. Room is just OK. We got "deluxe King with golf course view". Can hear HWY 101 noise from room. Windows are dirty. First time staying at the property. I'm not impressed and will not recommend.

Yelp
We hadn't been to Salishan in many years but had heard that things were better after the change in ownership and renovations. So we went for the night. Common areas looked good. Check-in person was great - even offered us a $20/pp credit if we charged items to our room. The room wasn't so great -- big cigarette burns in the ottoman (in a no-smoking room), no area rugs to absorb sound (noise from room above was bad), ceiling peeling in shower, dirty fireplace, had to wipe down deck furniture, just generally run-down. Sparse amenities, no AC. Certainly not worth what we paid for a deluxe golf-course view king room. The worst part: as we were ready to turn out the light for the night, a HUGE spider crawled out from under one of the bed pillows. Very hard to sleep after that. When I told the receptionist the next day, her comment was "well, they will change the sheets before the next guest" (what ??!!!). I said that maybe they should spray the room for bugs - she said nothing. I also had to contact the manager twice to get the promised $40 credit (that took two weeks). Good parts: the bar and the breakfast areas both had good drinks/food and the people working were great. We won't go back and not surprised that Bay House restaurant is leaving.

Yelp
This review is NOT for the hotel, but for the ESPRESSO in the little shop beside the lobby. The shop also sells sandwiches from the same kitchen as the upstairs restaurant, and knick knacks. I ordered my usual small (7 oz) two shot breve (half and half) flat white (like a latte but without foam). Their bean is a tasty medium roast, and properly roasted and extracted. It was delicious. Their coffee is significantly better than the coffee shop across the highway which is what shows up when you do a search for a coffee shop.

Yelp
My parents stayed here in the mid-60's when it opened and after all these years I finally decided to come here for day one of our 35th Anniversary and very glad we did. Room (a Premier Suite), was nicely appointed and we really liked the gas fireplace. It set the mood and kept things cozy. Plenty of linens and other amenities but I was taken back that there were no cups/glasses in the bathroom and only the paper ones for the in room coffee. When I enquirer about it to the front desk, the gent said I could come up and get some at the lobby. This is how you lose a star as I have never stayed at what would be classed as a nice resort and not had cups/glasses in room. Breakfast was fantastic at the lodge and the folks there do a great job getting people through and with a great attitude. We will definitely be coming back and look for deals on Expedia or other sights.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The price is good around $200 per night for us. The beach and golf are within a few minute drive. It's such a great escape from the city. The bed was comfy and the shower had great water pressure

Yelp
I loved my stay at the Salishan! Some of these reviews are pretty dramatic but I thought it was beautiful. Our room was perfect and checking in was easy. The woman behind the desk was so kind and helpful. Their spa and pool area was really nice as well. I also really appreciate that they require masks here. The room service was quick and delicious too! I can't wait to come back and hopefully hit the spa!

Yelp
There are many nice features about this resort: beautiful grounds, fireplaces in the rooms, comfy beds, and the main building is beautiful. The staff is very nice (unless you call after-the-fact to ask about miscellaneous charges on the bill--more to follow) and dogs are welcome!! However, there are definitely problems. Our plumbing had almost no pressure when flushing the toilet and the hot water in the shower cut out completely after about a minute. There was a large panel cut out of a wall around the tub and hastily replaced in a temporary manner so I'm thinking this is an on-going problem. The parking is covered, which is nice. But every narrow spot has a support post on either side. It is not easy to park, especially a large truck. There is no fix for this feature but parking is an issue so bring your compact car. My biggest issue is the extra fees tacked on at the end of the trip. I am specifically referring to the $35/day "Amenity Fee". When I called to question the fee, I was firmly told that this fee covers whatever the Salishan wants it to cover. Why not just add $35 to the cost of every room? Oh, that's right, the rooms are plenty expensive and adding another $35 to each day could make the price too much. The solution is apparently to add a fee, that is not discussed at check-in or booking and let the guest figure it out after the visit. The Salishan is a nice place but not at this price point.

Yelp
stayed a week. good destination. went to check out and print boarding passes for next day PDX departure and was told Salishan cannot print from usb device and was directed to a business printer. I started my personal laptop and found out the business printer did not work. Desk person tried to help to no avail and finally had me email boarding passes to a reservation address where Desk attendant printed the passes. Salishan needs a quick access workstation for customers to avoid the printer dance.

Yelp
We came over the holidays during the pandemic, and were excited about the great deal we got on a room. There is normally a "resort fee" that they waived since much of the resort is closed. They are totally dog friendly, seems everyone had one - and the fee is nominal $35. The resort is a bit old (built in the 60's) but they are actively renovating it and the rooms are generally comfortable. Our [first] room was on the lower floor, a king room, which unfortunately smelled of mildew, and the floors were sticky. It didn't seem terribly clean, but how clean can something feel if the floors are sticky and the room smells like mildew? Unfortunately for us, we ended up with a "stowaway", apparently as we were loading our stuff a little mouse came in as well. We didn't hear (or see) the little guy until about 4 a.m. when it started banging around under the fridge cabinet. Upon opening the fridge cabinet, out comes the little critter and surprised us both quite a bit (our dog couldn't have cared less). Hey, you're in the forest, so there's bound to be critters. So, we called the front desk the next day, and although initially they said it might have been a raccoon outside - we told them it was actually INside, and luckily we saw it run outside after we moved the fridge cabinet around a bit (whew)! They moved us to a top floor double queen room (a bit cheaper). This room was WAY better, with a nice storm door to the patio (the previous room did not have it). Unfortunate again for us, a family moved into the 3 rooms right next door and put their kids in the room closest to us - and the kids had a fabulous habit of screaming at a decibel I didn't think was possible. So why 4 stars? 5 stars: for the staff - super friendly, and very accommodating 4 stars: for the food - takeout is the way to go if you want to avoid a 20% surcharge to have someone drive a golf cart to your door, rather than take a 5 minute walk to pick it up yourself. The food tasted great! 3 stars: for cleanliness - bedding and linens were clean, but in our second room my dog found a pair of socks left there by a previous tenant. 4 stars: for the resort itself. We would definitely try to head back there when more things are open. They have a ton of things to do!

Yelp
Very disappointed! Nothing that advertised on website, rooms outdated and very dirty, when I open door first thing I see someone dirty socks left in the middle of the room, shocking! Restaurant was not prepared to host thanksgiving dinner and run out of food by 6 pm. When we call they supposed to be open till 11 pm. We had nothing to eat all night and just watch TV in a room. Staff is friendly, I feel bad they have to apologize for everything missing. This place must be good in 70s? But not it looks like run down, dirty and definitely not COVID clean. Very very disappointed, consider we pay for two room at $400 each a night for three nights. Will not recommend this place to anyone. I hope this place make some major updates
